Jack Bryan Thomasson

Jack Bryan Thomasson age 84 of Arkadelphia passed from this life on Thursday, November 17, 2011 at Courtyard Gardens Rehabilitation Center in Arkadelphia. He was born on November 13, 1927 in Arkadelphia, the son of the late Joe B. and Gertrude Dean Thomasson. Jack was a retired salesman for Midwest Dairy and Marlboro. He was a Baptist and a United States Navy veteran of World War II. Jack was preceded in death by his son, Joseph Baron Thomasson.
He is survived by one daughter Terry Ann Thomasson of Arkadelphia, one grandson Timothy Thomasson of Norfolk, VA, and one sister in law, Mary Culpepper of Hot Springs.
Graveside services with full military honors will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at the Arkansas State Veteran's cemetery in Sherwood.
No visitation will be held.
Arrangements are entrusted to Welch Funeral Home of Arkadelphia.
Joe Mark Kizer

Joe Mark Kizer age 46 of Hollywood passed from this life on Monday, May 23, 2011 in Hollywood. He was born November 4, 1964 in Arkadelphia the son of the late Richard and Flossie Owen Kizer. Mark was a custodian and a member of Hollywood Methodist Church.
Survivors are two brothers, Randy (Linda) Kizer of Hollywood and Ricky (Diane) Kizer of Weiner, AR, one niece Libby Kizer, four nephews Shawn, Josh, Chris and Spencer Kizer.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, May 26, 2011 at Hollywood cemetery with Rev. Carla Thompson officiating.
No visitation will be held.
Memorials may be made to Hollywood Methodist Church or Hollywood cemetery Fund.
Services are entrusted to Welch Funeral Home.
Thomas Oral Shepherd

Thomas Oral "T.O." Shepherd, aged 88, of Arkadelphia, entered into Heaven & eternal peace, November 27th at his home. He was born January 30, 1924, the son of Thomas and Veda Francis Shepherd. He was owner/operator of Shepherd Auto Sales and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Arkadelphia. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Diane Shepherd, two brothers, Roland and A. O. Shepherd, two sisters, Frances Shepherd and Ruby Shepherd Dockery, a brother-in-law, Marcus Dockery, one sister-in-law, Jean Shepherd & several nieces and nephews.
Survivors include two daughters, Bettye (Garland) Binns of Little Rock, and Judy (David) Winders of Arkadelphia; two brothers, Paul (Charlotte) Shepherd of Arkadelphia, and Velton (Marietta) Shepherd of Okolona; ten grandchildren, Will, Brad, Blake, Brent & Meagan Binns, Brittany Binns Lacy, Chad Caldwell, Kim Caldwell, Dr. Todd Tinsley, and Wade Woolsey; four great grandchildren, Taylor Tinsley, Toby Tinsley, Sophie Binns and Lakin Caldwell and one great great grandchild, Wiatt Turner.
Funeral services will be 2 P.M. Saturday, December 1st at First United Methodist Church in Arkadelphia with Reverend Carroll Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 6-8 P.M. November 30 at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home.

Emma Jean Orr
(October 5, 1931 - July 25, 2015)
Emma Jean Orr, 83 of Hot Springs, passed on to the Lord July 25, 2015. She was born October 5, 1931 to Dewey and Helen Almond. Emma was a devoted mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by a husband John H. Orr, a son, John B. Orr both of Bismarck and two brothers, Bruce and Willie Almond.
Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn Ashley of Hot Springs and Kelly House of Point Cedar; one son Dewey Paul Orr of Hot Springs, three grandchildren Angella Ashley, Melinda Allison and Andrea Ashley and one great grandson, Colton Sligh.
Services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 28th at Ruggles- Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at DeRoche cemetery.
Georgia Sveda

Georgia A. Sveda age 73, of Arkadelphia, passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Little Rock. Georgia was born July 4, 1942 and graduated from Bismarck High School in 1960. She was a U. S. Navy veteran and worked with Group Living and Area Agency on Aging in Arkadelphia.
She is survived by her husband of fifty-three years, Elmer Sveda; two sons, Russell Sveda and wife, Karen of Denver, Colorado, Tim Sveda of Arkadelphia; one daughter, Danita Guerrero and husband, Tony of San Antonio, Texas; one step-son, Todd Wehling and wife, Fran of Niceville, Florida; two grandchildren, Savannah Guerrero and Jana Sveda; four brothers, Curtis Breashears of Arkadelphia, Jimmy Breashears of Hot Springs, David Breashears of Malvern, Eddie Joe Breashears; four sisters, Mary Jo Breashears of California, Kitty Breashears of Malvern, Dorine Breashears of Columbus, Ohio and Corine Breashears.
There will be a visitation 4-8 PM Monday, August 17th at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home after which the body will be cremated. Memorials may be made to Group Living P. O. Box 159 Arkadelphia, AR. 71923.
Lena Lucille Herrin

Lena Lucille Herrin, age 91, of Bismarck, died Saturday, August 20, 2011 in Hot Springs. She was born February 6, 1920, the daughter of the late John and Rosie McDaniel Kindred. Lucille was a homemaker, a retired seamstress and a member of Bismarck Pentecostal Church. She loved quilting, gardening, and outdoor activities. She was preceded in death by her husband, Noah Herrin and one grandson, Ricky Curtis Foltz. .
Survivors include one daughter, Hilda Wilson and husband, Wilburn of Bismarck; two sons, Kenneth Herrin and wife, Carol of Malvern; Rick Herrin and wife, Carolyn of Bismarck; eight grandchildren, Kim Eads, Kristi Buckholz, Michael Herrin, Heath Herrin, Randy Foltz, Lisa Rae Spinks, Sallee Herrin and Stephanie Yarbrough; numerous great and great-great grandchildren; one brother, James Kindred of Dallas, Texas; two sisters, Zelma Knighten of Bismarck and Mildred Lester of Hot Springs. .
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, August 23rd at Bismarck Pentecostal Church with Bro. Van Glidewell officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Bower cemetery. Visitation will be from 6- 8 Monday at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia. Pallbearers will be Jay Spinks, Tyler Eads, Chase Buckholz, Garrett Buckholz, David Creech, Mark Morgan, Andy Morgan and Johnny Green. .

Leon Montgomery

Lloyd Leon Montgomery, age 69, of Bismarck passed from this life on Sunday, May 22, 2011. He was born on May 23, 1941 in Bismarck the son of the late Lloyd Harmon and Ruby Grace Counts Montgomery. Leon was a retired retail clerk for Safeway Stores and a farmer. He was a member of DeRoche Missionary Baptist Church and the Back Forty Hunting Club.
Leon is survived by his wife, Becky Keadle Montgomery, two daughters, Linda (Greg) Weatherford of Bonnerdale and Christy (Michael) Olivella of Bismarck, two sons, Glenn (Shirley) Montgomery of Poyen and Randy Montgomery of Bismarck, nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at DeRoche Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Chris Morrison, Jim Roach and Troy Bray officiating. Interment will be in the DeRoche cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday at Welch Funeral Home in Arkadelphia.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Francis, Michael Linder, Michael Sheets, Craig Kemp, Greg Weatherford and Michael Olivella. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Class of 1959 and the Back Forty Hunting Club.

Barbara J Mixon

Barbara Jean Mixon, age 74 of Nashville, passed from this life on Monday, May 16, 2011 at Christus St. Michael Medical Center in Texarkana. She was born on March 28, 1937 in Kansas City, MO, the daughter of the late James Benny and Aileen Knapp Burleson. Barbara was a retired hair dresser and caregiver and a member of County Line Baptist Church.
She is survived by one son, Jimmy (Sherri) Mixon of Nashville, two daughters, Penny (Glen) Hebert of Nashville and Debbie (David) Sanchez of Virginia Beach, VA, eight grandchildren, David, Jimmy, Salina, Robert, Aaron, Denise, Jonathan, and Kaylie, thirteen great grandchildren, one brother, Bud Anderson of San Diego, CA and one sister, Edna Taylor of Arizona
Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at the County Line cemetery with Rev. James Spradlin and Bishop Washington officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 to 2:00 PM at County Line Baptist Church.

Billie Jean Gates

Billie Jean Gates age 80 of Arkadelphia died Friday, June 1, 2012. She was born in Clark County June 24, 1931 the daughter of Milton and Ophelia Suggs Williams. She was employed by J. C. Penny, Fafnir Bearing, and Andrews Candy Kitchen. She was a member of Second Baptist Church of Arkadelphia. She was preceded in death by her husband Thurman Gates.
Survivors include one son, Douglas (Darlene) Gates of Cabot, one daughter, Valerie (Thomas) Free of Arkadelphia, three grandchildren David S. and Daniel S. Gates and Zachary Free, one great grandson William S. Gates.
Funeral services will be 10 AM Monday, June 4th at the Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Chapel in Arkadelphia with Pastor Richard Lancaster officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday 2-4 PM at the funeral home.

Opal Shuffield

Opal Shuffield age 85 of Bismarck died Tuesday, March 20, 2012. She was born May 3, 1926 the daughter of George and Anna Thomas Cook. She was preceded in death by her husband C. O. Shuffield and two sons-in-law Jerry Groves and Marshall Weatherford. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Survivors include one son, Shawn Shuffield and his wife Michelle of Malvern, two daughters, Delores Groves of Malvern and Cecilia Weatherford of Bismarck, 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10 AM Friday, March 23rd in the DeRoche Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Chris Morrison officiating. Burial will be in Valley cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Thursday at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia. Pallbearers will be Bryan, Blaine and Barry Weatherford, Riley Shuffield, Lanny Allen, David Mitchell, and Wayne Cook.
