Earline Langley

Earline Vann Langley age 82 passed away Sunday, May 13, 2012 at her home. She was born September 13, 1929 in Sparkman, Arkansas the daughter of Alver Brown and Martha Ann Hogue Vann. She was a member of Sparkman Assembly of God Church. Earline loved to fish especially with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Martha Jean Langley; three brothers and one sister.
Survivors include her husband of sixty-two years, Walter Langley; one son, Wayne Langley and wife, Sherry of Carthage, Arkansas; two daughters, Annette Draper and husband, Kenny of Malvern, Wanda Lawrence of Tulip; eight grandchildren, Kenny Wayne Langley, Angel Ray, Amanda Jones, Stephanie Gifford, Kitty Bass, Scotty Langley, Michelle Williams and Jason Langley; three step-grandchildren, Kenny Draper Jr., Joe Draper and Denise Davis; sixteen great-grandchildren; one great grandchild on the way; eleven step great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins including one special niece, Ann Rhodes; and one special cousin, Frankie Kratz.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Thursday, May 17th at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia with Bro. Marvin Launius, Bro. Phil Matthews and Bro. Jerry George officiating. Burial will be in Sardis cemetery near Sparkman. Pallbearers will be Matt Gifford, Casey Jones, Matt Williams, Kendall Ray, Jeremy Bass, Kenny Draper Jr., Joe Draper and Keith Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenny Draper, Dale Rhodes, Mike Lawrence, Dr. Higginbotham, Bro. Phil Matthews and Odyssey Hospice. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
Estelle Wilson
(June 27, 1937 - January 30, 2015)
Estelle Wilson, age 77, of Caney, AR, died Friday, January 30, 2015. She was born June 27, 1937, in Hot Spring County, the daughter of Vernon and Ruby Simonds Efird. She worked for National Rejectors 18 years, served on the school board for Ouachita High School for 22 years having served as President for 18 of those years. She was a member of Caney Baptist Church where she served as Youth Leader for many years. She was preceded in death by a sister, Margelle Hartsell.
Survivors include her husband, Louie Wilson, one son, Stephen Wilson and his wife, Kimberly, of Caney, one daughter, Linda Thompson and her husband, Paul, of Springdale, one brother, Gaston 'Mutt' Efird and his wife, Elderie, of Caney, one sister, Laverne Cagle and her husband, Tommy, of Caney, two grandchildren, Holly Wilson Hughes and her husband, Jonathan, and Jordon Thompson.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, February 2nd, in the Caney Baptist Church with Bro. Hollis McDermott and Bro. Ralph Ruffin officiating. Burial will be in the Burnett cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Caney Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be David and Scott Cagle, Vernon Hartsell, Wayne Weatherford, Ronnie Efird, Dewayne Hancock, Mike Rucker, and Tim Freeman. Honorary pallbearers will be nephews and nieces and members of Caney Baptist Church.

Emma Jean Esqueda

Emma Jean Speaks Esqueda, age 87, of Bismarck, passed from this life on Sunday, May 11, 2014 at her home. She was born September 27, 1926, in Bismarck, the daughter of the late Harvey H. and Adell Allen Yarbrough. Emma was a homemaker and enjoyed crochet, gardening, sewing and cooking. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Bismarck. Emma was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles R. Speaks, her second husband, Henry "Hank" Esqueda, one brother, Robert Lee Yarbrough, two sisters, her twin, Bonnie J. Stewart and Palla Mae Shephard, and one great grandson, Austin L. Rogers.
Survivors are three daughters, Emma L. (Jimmy) Rogers of Bismarck, Norma "Ceci" J. Warren of Hot Springs and Donna M. (Greg) Salcido of Whittier, CA, one sister, Patricia Jones of Bismarck, five grandchildren, Cliff (Tiffany) Rogers of Bismarck, Steven (Virginia) Rogers of Bismarck, Courtney (Justin) Ramsey of Gainesville, GA, Jameson Warren of Fayetteville, AR and Calvin Salcido of Whittier, CA, five great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, May 15, 2014 at First Baptist Church in Bismarck with Pastor Evan Smith officiating.

Grace Sturgeon
(Died April 18, 2015)
Grace Wellman Dyer Sturgeon, born September 28, 1930 in Wayne County, West Virginia, to Carl Wellman and Frankie McCoy Wellman, died April 18, 2015. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Roberta Faye Freeman, her step-mother Lois Wellman and her step-brother, James Sutton.
Her relationship with her first husband, George E. Dyer began when she tripped him at the skating rink in Huntington, West Virginia. After marrying George, on May 28, 1949, she often joked about earning her 'PhT' (putting hubby through school), as they moved from Huntington, West Virginia to Anderson, Indiana, Big Spring, Texas and finally Lubbock, Texas, as he pursued his PhD. In 1966 the couple moved to Little Rock, where he began his teaching career at UALR. After his death, she married
Howard M. Sturgeon, with whom she enjoyed traveling the country. Grace and Howard settled in Lehigh Acres, Florida, where she enjoyed teaching crafts at the Senior Center.
Grace was well known for her crafting and sewing skills and has a wall of ribbons awarded from the county, district and state fairs. She had a generous spirit and enjoyed helping others. With her friend, Billie Taylor, she made hundreds of dresses for the girls of Africa and Haiti, blankets and sock monkeys for Children’s Hospital, and other crafts to help patients in nursing homes and hospitals. Grace was especially proud of the patent for an oxygen holder for a walker that she and her friend, Billie, applied for and were granted when she was 80.
She was a spirited woman with a strong faith in God and a deep and reciprocated love for her family and friends. She is survived by her son, Carl Wesley Dyer, Sr. (Marsha) of White Hall, Arkansas; grandson, Carl Wesley Dyer, Jr. (Lisa) of Jonesboro, Arkansas; granddaughter, Laura Elizabeth Johnson (Jeff) of Little Rock, Arkansas, and her brother, Bud Danny Wellman (Connie) of Catlettsburg, Kentucky. She is also survived by two step-sons, Donald Sturgeon (Barbara) of Dayton, Ohio and Jim Sturgeon (Tami) of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, five great-grandchildren, two nephews and five nieces. She leaves behind many friends in Arkansas, West Virginia and Florida. The family would like to thank the staff at Baptist Hospital, White Hall Nursing Home, Nursing and Rehabilitation at Good Shepherd and Hospice Home Inpatient Center for the care and many kindnesses during her illness.
Services will be at 3:00 PM Wednesday, April 22nd at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia. Visitation will 1:30 PM Wednesday until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Huntington, West Virginia.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to White Hall United Methodist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 20880, White Hall, Arkansas 71612.
Jimmy Watson

Jimmy Watson, age 77, of Arkadelphia, died Sunday June 16, 2013 in Arkadelphia. He was born February 20, 1936 in Leitchfield, Kentucky the son of the late Ernest and Cora Hack Watson. Jimmy was a retired machinist for Anchor Glass Co. in Streator, Illinois.
Survivors are his wife of forty-six years, Judith Watson; one son, James David Watson of Alabama; step-children, Lisa Odd of Canada, Michael Holland and Scott Holland both of Streator, Illinois; one brother, Don Decker of Virginia Beach, Virginia; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Edgar Wilbourn Jr.

Edgar Wilbourn Jr. age 94, of Caddo Valley, passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2015 in Arkadelphia. He was born August 8, 1920 in Muskogee, Oklahoma, one of seven children to Edgar Sherman Sr. and Mary Cashman Wilbourn.
Edgar was a U. S. Navy veteran, was involved in steel construction, insurance and real estate. He was longtime resident of the Modesto, California area. After moving to Caddo Valley, Edgar worked at the Arkadelphia Wal-Mart Store for over twenty-two years. He attended the Fellowship Church in Arkadelphia.
He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Dawn Marie Wilbourn and one daughter-in-law, Sara Wilbourn.
Survivors are his wife of seventy-four years, Darris Maxwell Wilbourn; one son, Edgar Wilbourn III and wife, Patti of Haymarket, Virginia; one daughter, Linda Wilbourn Holway of Caddo Valley; three grandchildren, Michael Wilbourn and wife, Trinity of Ft Collins, Colorado, Matthew Holway and wife, Jen of Hughson, California and Elanor Engler and husband, Johnny of Haymarket, Virginia; nine great-grandchildren, Malachi, Gabriel, Kyrie and Phoenix Wilbourn all of Ft. Collins, Colorado, Corri Barnett of Winton, California, Trenton Holway and wife, Patricia of Ft. Lewis, Washington, Robert Holway of Hughson, California, Brennan Holway of Taft, California and Ashley Lee Engler of Haymarket, Virginia and one brother-in-law, Carl Maxwell and wife, Frances of Arkadelphia.
Visitation will be 6-8 PM Thursday, August 6th at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home.
Services will be 2:00 PM Friday, August 7th at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home with Dr. Scott Jackson, Derrick Barnes and Dr. Scott Duvall officiating. Interment will follow at Caddo Valley cemetery.

Dora Jacqueline Green

Dora Jacqueline Green, age 81, of Bismarck died Wednesday August 10, 2011 at the Baptist Medical Center of Arkadelphia. She was born August 26, 1929, in Canton, TX. the daughter of Pat and Hilda Hughes Eves. Jackie was a hair stylist and the previous owner of Arkadelphia and Hot Springs Beauty Colleges and Jackie's Beauty Shop. She was a member of Valley Missionary Baptist Church and Veteran's of Foreign Wars. She and her husband raised registered cattle and pedigree hunting dogs.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Green; three sisters, Millie Baxley, Bonnie Foster, and Betty Youngblood; two brothers, Walter Eves and Duane Eves; and her parents.

Lovella Edith Cooper

Lovella E. Cooper, age 85, of Nebraska City, Nebraska formerly of Malvern, died Tuesday, August 16, 2011 in Nebraska City. She was born February 20, 1926 in Hamilton, Kansas, the daughter of the late Guy and Opal Lorene Needels Webb. She was united in marriage to Harold "Norman" Cooper on November 20, 1943 in Lawrence, Kansas.
Lovella was a loving wife and mother. She worked as a telephone operator in Lawrence, Kansas and Green Forest, Arkansas and was affiliated with the Assembly of God Church in Nebraska City.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold "Norman" Cooper in November of 1976; a sister, Ella Mae and brothers, Eugene and Guy.
Survivors are her four children, Clifford Cooper and wife, Kathleen of Nebraska City, Nebraska, Carol Ann Fields and husband, Jerry of Magnolia, Texas, Steve Cooper and wife, Peggy of Greenfield, Missouri and Patty Prater and husband, Tommy of Malvern, Arkansas; thirteen grandchildren; thirty-eight great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; siblings, Edwin Webb and wife, Meredith of Washington, Dorothy Williams of Kansas, Carol Chastain and husband, Everett of Kansas, David Webb of Montana, Rose Milburn of Kansas, Larry Webb of Kansas; and other family and friends.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, August 20th at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia. Interment will be in Alford cemetery in the Possum Trot Community. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the family.

Delaine Herbert Julseth, age 85, of Caddo Valley, passed from this life on Sunday, April 27, 2014 at his home. He was born in Deerfield Wisconsin on November 4, 1928 to the late George and Betsy Hoel Julseth. Delaine served in the United States Army, was a farmer and retired from Weyhauser.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-two years, Pearl of Caddo Valley, three daughters, Charlene Blankenship (late Norman) of Atlanta, GA, Tina Moore (David) of Hot Springs, Heidi Jones (Steve Smith) of Caddo Valley, one son, Jeff Julseth of New Lisbon, WI, two brothers, Maynard Julseth of McHenry, IL and Roger Julseth of Madison, WI, nine grandchildren, Zac Blankenship, Alisha Steadman, Jonathon Jones, Joshua Jones, Kandyce Jones, Kristopher Diehl, Gretta Julseth, Clara Julseth and Michael Moore, and six great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 5:00 PM on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at Welch Funeral Home in Arkadelphia. Burial will be at Liberty Lutheran Church cemetery in Deerfield, WI.
