Madelyn Jane Seyler
(September 15, 2015 - September 15, 2015)

Madelyn Jane Seyler was born and went to be with the Lord on September 15, 2015. She is survived by her parents, Klayton and Megan Tucker Seyler of Little Rock; maternal grandparents, J. D. 'Sonny' and Nicki McAnally Tucker of Benton; paternal grandparents, Dennis and Candy Seyler of Jonesboro; great-grandparents, Carolyn McAnally of Hollywood, AR. and Bettye Kingrey of Branson, Missouri.

Graveside service will be private.

A memorial service will be 4:00 pm Monday, September 21st at Fellowship Bible Church Chapel, 1401 Kirk Rd., Little Rock, AR. 72223. Rev. James Guthrie and Rev. Brandon Barnard will officiate.

Jean Bailey Sheets
(May 14, 1933 - April 5, 2012)

Ermagene (Jean) Sheets age 78 of Point Cedar died Thursday, April 5, 2012. She was born May 14, 1933 in Holdenville, OK the daughter of Samuel Clifton and Lillie Bell Noblett Bailey. She was a member of the Philippi Church of Christ.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Royce Sheets, one brother, Carl Bailey and his wife Gayle of Benton, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2 PM Monday in the Philippi Church of Christ with Mike Hutchison officiating. Burial will be in the Philippi cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 PM till service time at the church.

Memorials may be to the Philippi cemetery c/o Charles Massey, 1752 Lonesome Rd., Bismarck, AR 71929.

Ed Flaig
(July 29, 1920 - November 23, 2012)

U.S. Veteran
Ed Flaig was born in St. Samarita Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio on July 29, 1920. He was the only son of Lucille Crow and Edward Guy Flaig Sr., both from Danville, Kentucky. He graduated from Withrow High School in Cincinnati and attended the University of Cincinnati. After college he enlisted in the Army Air Corp and was stationed at Patterson Field. He went to officer training school at Miami, Florida and Stanford, Texas. He then helped start the college training detachment at then Ouachita Baptist College in 1943. It was there he met and married Neno Nowlin in March of 1944. Shortly after, he was stationed on Guam. He was issued out of Air Force as a Lieutenant Colonel, and settled in Arkadelphia, Arkansas.

Ed loved Arkadelphia and was involved in many civic activities. He was a member of First Baptist Church since 1949. He served as president of the Lions Club, an active member of the Jaycees, the Chamber of Commerce, the Literacy Council and the Arkadelphia Library Board. He always loved sports and voluntarily coached the boys and girls tennis teams during the fifties. He was an avid golfer, playing golf at least twice a week until he was 82. He refereed both high school and college football games for twenty-five years, and during his later years he kept the clock for both Henderson and Ouachita. He enjoyed boating, fishing and spending time on Lake Hamilton with his family. One of his proudest honors was when Kentucky Governor Pete Carroll selected him for membership in the Honorary Order of Kentucky Colonels, and shortly afterward, Governor David Pryor made him an official Arkansas Traveler.

He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-four years, Neno Nowlin Flaig and a grandson, Jim Guy Russell.

Survivors are three daughters, Gay Burch of Hot Springs, Gail Flaig of Arkadelphia, and Sunny Flaig of Los Angeles, CA; son-in law, Dr Lan Burch of Hot Springs; and one grandson, Jarrod Russell of Boston, MA.

There will be a family graveside service 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 27th at Rose Hill cemetery in Arkadelphia with Dr. Lee McGlone officiating. Memorials may be made to Arkadelphia Library, 609 Caddo St., the Clark County Humane Society, 627 Walnut St. Arkadelphia, AR. 71923 and Odyssey Hospice, 10800 Financial Parkway Little Rock, AR. 72211.

Kyle Roe O'Quinn
(February 21, 1963 - July 15, 2012)

Kyle Roe O’Quinn died Sunday, July 15, 2012 in Hot Springs. He was born on February 21, 1963, in Warren, Arkansas to Wanda Roe O’Quinn and the late Dr. Mickey O’Quinn. He was the youngest of four children – two boys and two girls.

Kyle was a graduate of Arkadelphia High School, Henderson State University with a BSE and a MSE in Administration from Texas A & M at Commerce, Texas. He was a coach/athletic director at Sugarland Independent Schools in Houston, TX; Sherman, TX; Lufkin, TX; San Jose State, University of Central Arkansas and Texas High in Texarkana, TX.

Kyle is survived by his mother, Wanda O’Quinn of Arkadelphia; brother, Darren O’Quinn (Melanie) of Little Rock; sisters- Karm Crommett (David) of Nederland, TX and Kelly Nelson (Bill) of Bentonville.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, July 19, 2012, at First United Methodist Church in Arkadelphia, 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Carroll Jackson officiating.

The family will greet guests immediately following the service in the church’s parlor.

There will be a private interment at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the Arkadelphia Badger Booster Club at P.O. Box 124, Arkadelphia, AR, 71923 in memory of Kyle O’Quinn, Badger number 10.

Floyd Henry Looper
(August 3, 1922 - April 28, 2015)

U.S. Veteran
Floyd Henry Looper age 92 of Bismarck passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2015. He was born in Bismarck to the late Henry Clifton and Lizzie Mae Phillips Looper. Floyd was a Army veteran of World War II where he served in Okinawa with the 96th Infantry Deadeye Division and received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He was a retired educator of 30 years from the Bismarck School District and was a member of the Beaton Christian Home Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Doyle, Wayne and Carl Looper, one sister, Hazel Small and a grandson, John Douglas.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Erma Looper, two daughters, Kitty (Ray) Barton, and Floy (David) Douglas, grandchildren, Tasha (Christian) Smith, Kristopher Barton, Karen (Greg) Chenault, and great grandchildren, Brianna and Shelby Dixon, Graham, Max and Avery Chenault and Bryant Barton, one sister Faye (Jim) Hinderhofer and a brother-in-law, Harold Borroughs.

Funeral services will be 2 PM Friday, May 1st, in the Beaton Christian Home Church with Pastor Gary Hardage officiating. Burial will be in the Beaton cemetery. Visitation will be 1 PM Friday till service time at the Church.

Memorials may be made to the Beaton cemetery Fund.

Bobby "Chino" Galbraith
(July 26, 1972 - December 6, 2012)

Bobby "Chino" Galbraith age 40, born July 26, 1972, went to Heaven December 6, 2012. "Chino" as he was known by all those close to him was an extraordinary life force. All who met him always felt at ease because of his happy go lucky personality. Originally from Houston, TX, moved to Arkansas and became so much more than just a family man. There will never be another that can come close the wonderful friend, husband, and daddy he was. He will be greatly missed by all. Chino was a very talented all around artist. He was a natural at his work and took great pride in his tattoo work. He had made arrangements to open his own shop in the up-coming year. He is preceded in death by a son Phoenix Galbraith, two daughters, Adiele and Marley Crutchfield Galbraith all of Arkadelphia and best friend Darren of Houston, TX.

Survivors include his wife Anna Galbraith and daughter Paisley Galbraith both of Arkadelphia, his parents, John and Hwcha Galbraith of Houston, TX, sons, Damion and Anthony Galbraith, in-laws Kenneth and Becky McAnally, brother and sister-in-law Misti and Keith Bell, brother and sister-in-law Matt and Emily McAnally, brother Chad Clark of Copperas Cove, TX and many other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 10 AM Saturday, December 15 in the Jones Performing Arts Center on the Ouachita Baptist University Campus. All attending will have the opportunity to step to the microphone and tell their favorite stories. Please be respectful of younger children when telling stories. Saturday night there will be a "Life" party from 9 PM to 1 AM at the Clark County Fairgrounds. Donations will be taken at the door to help with expenses. All food donations are welcome to be brought to the event. No alcohol will be served but all attending must be 16 or older. Police will be present so no drama, please be respectful. This is a party to celebrate the life force that was "Chino". The great ones always leave early, leaving us wanting more. Accounts have been set at Summit Bank and Southern Bandcorp. Donations also taken at Titan Gym. All donations are greatly appreciated. Thanks to you all.

John Mark McCaskill
(March 17, 1967 - June 18, 2013)

John Mark McCaskill age 46 of Arkadelphia died Tuesday, June 18, 2013. He was born March 17, 1967 the son of Johnny and Linda Kirkland McCaskill. Mark was of the Baptist Faith. He was preceded in death by his father, Johnny McCaskill.

Survivors include his wife Tammara Lee McCaskill, three sons John David Christian McCaskill, and Colby Malachi Vanlandingham, both of Arkadelphia, Nickolas McCaskill, Kansas City, KS, two daughters Olivia Hope Vanlandingham, Arkadelphia, Shelby Daniela McCaskill, Cambridge, MD, his mother Linda McCaskill- Hargrove, Camden, AR, one sister Donna Denise Langley, Corinth, MS, his maternal grandfather James Kirkland, one grandchild Kainen Gage Vanlandingham.

A memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 22 in the Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church in Arkadelphia with Pastor Larry Newsome officiating. There will be no formal visitation.

Garrie Wortham
(July 15, 1945 - March 6, 2012)

U.S. Veteran
Garrie William Wortham Sr. age 66 of the Joan Community near Arkadelphia, passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2012 in Little Rock. He was born July 15, 1945 in Searcy, Arkansas the son of the late Sherman "Tex" William and Ophie Alice Goodin Wortham. Garrie was a U. S. Navy veteran of Vietnam. He previously owned and operated Ouachita Mill & Supply Co. and currently was a salesman for Ozark Bearing & Supply Co. Garrie was a member of North Main Church of Christ in Malvern where he served as an Elder.

His wife, Marian J. Green Wortham preceded him in death on October 11, 2010,

Survivors include one daughter, Jennifer Wortham of Niceville, Florida; one son Garrie William Wortham Jr. and wife, Rebecca of Madison, Alabama; two brothers, Larrie Wortham and wife, Joann of Little Rock, Arkansas, Jerry Wortham and wife, Loretta of Dewitt, Arkansas; and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, March 10th at North Main Church of Christ in Malvern with Bryan Braswell officiating. Interment will be in Bethlehem cemetery at Joan. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Friday at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia. Memorials may be made to North Main Church of Christ, 823 Main St., Malvern, Arkansas 72104.

Willie Chessman
(December 16, 1909 - May 22, 2011)

Willie Buck Anderson Chessman, age 101, of Bismarck, died Sunday May 22, 2011 in Hot Springs. She was born December 16, 1909 in Clark County the daughter of Doc and Ida Cox Buck. She was a longtime employee of Hollywood Vasserette after which she worked at Levi Straus, Nahas Company, and cafeteria worker in the Bismarck Public Schools, She was a Baptist. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Homer Anderson and Henry Chessman, one daughter, Patsy Hall, one grandson, Joseph Counts, two sisters, Mamie Bennett and Bertha Tweedle, three brothers, Wallace, Hubert, and Cecil Buck, and one son-in-law, Clinton Counts.

Survivors include five generations, one daughter, Betty Counts of Bismarck, seven grandchildren, Vicki Counts Mayer, Stephen Counts, Sherry and Debbie Runnels, Lane and Terry Hall, and Melanie Trolinder, 15 great grandchildren, 15 great great grandchildren, and one great great great grandchild.

Graveside funeral services will be 2 PM Tuesday, May 24 in the Marcus Gardens cemetery at Lambert with Paul Shuffield officiating. Visitation will be 12 Noon till 1:15 at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia.

Faye Priest
(August 24, 1918 - October 14, 2011)

Gussie (Faye) Ward Cerrato Priest age 93 died October 14, 2011 at Twin Rivers Health and rehab, in Arkadelphia. She was born August 24, 1918 in Bass (Newton County) Arkansas to George and Martha Hill Ward as one of eleven children. She was predeceased by her husband Clyde Priest. She was a member of the Baring Cross Missionary Baptist Church in Arkadelphia.

Survivors are: two sons, Eddie Cerrato and wife Charlotte of Cabot, Russell Cerrato and wife Phyllis of Arkadelphia, one brother, L.B. Ward and wife Carol of Conway, five grandchildren, Dean, Chris, and Jody Cerrato, Cindy Cerrato Ford, Vikki Wade, and three great-grandchildren.

Graveside service will be 12:00 pm Tuesday October 18, 2011 at Pinecrest Memorial Park, exit 123, go left over interstate 30 and take right on hwy 5 east in Bryant.Bro. James Calhoun will be officiating. Visitation will be at the Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia from 9:00 to 10:30 am. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Arkansas Childrens Hospital.

Wyatt Huck Johnson
(Died July 14, 2012)

Infant Wyatt Huck Johnson of Arkadelphia passed from this life on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at Baptist Medical Center in Arkadelphia. Waiting his arrival in heaven were his paternal grandparents Earl and Oneida Johnson.

Wyatt is survived by his loving parents Andy and Holly Harrington Johnson of Arkadelphia, maternal grandparents Geraldine Valentine of Damascus and Jimmy Harrington of Arkadelphia, aunt Gloria Johnson of Deer, uncle and aunt Jacob and Jennifer Harrington of Shawnee, OK.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at Colony cemetery, Hwy 92 East at Bee Branch with Carl Thomason officiating.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday at Welch Funeral Home in Arkadelphia.
