Lorene Williams
(February 3, 1925 - September 28, 2012)
Lorene Williams age 87 of Arkadelphia passed away on Friday, September 28, 2012 in Arkadelphia. She was born February 3, 1925 the daughter of the late Carley and Nettie Meeks Dodwell. Lorene was a cafeteria worker for several area schools and worked at Juanita's Candy Kitchen in Arkadelphia. She was a lifelong member of Third Street Baptist Church, was an active member of Golden Ages and the Senior Citizens Center.
She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-eight years, Carl Williams on September 5, 1990; by six brothers, Lenord, Doyle, Meliven, Lloyd, Bobby and Tommy Dodwell and one sister, Dorothy O'Hart.
Survivors are two daughters, Nancy Fosco and husband, Peter of Hot Springs, Betty Tate of Arkadelphia; one brother, Louis (L. T.) Dodwell of Arkadelphia; one sister, Slyvia Thomas and husband, Joe of Garland, Texas; seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 1st at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Chapel with Rev. Greg Latham officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Third Street Baptist Church.
Kim M. Patterson
(Died September 11, 2012)
Kim M. Patterson of Warren, Arkansas formerly of Arkadelphia died Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at his home. He was the director for the Southeast Arkansas Regional Library and was formerly a librarian for Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia.
Survivors are his parents, Arthur and Mildred Patterson of Friendship, Arkansas; two brothers, Wayne L. Patterson and wife, Kathy of Winnemucca, Nevada, Gregory A. Patterson and wife, Linda of Flippin, Arkansas; and one sister, Elizabeth Ann "Betsy" Patterson of Friendship, Arkansas.
Graveside services will be at 3:00 p.m. Friday, September 14th at Caddo Valley cemetery with Bro. David Ritchie officiating. Interment will follow in Caddo Valley cemetery. There will be no formal visitation.
George W. Kendrick
(August 21, 1928 - September 10, 2012)

George W. Kendrick age 84 of Arkadelphia died Monday, September 10, 2012 in Hot Springs. He was born August 21, 1928 in Chillicothe, Texas the son of the late Robert L. and Minnie Louise Cooley Kendrick. He served in the U. S. Army for twenty-two years, a veteran of both the Korea and Vietnam Wars. After returning to Arkadelphia, he was a projectionist for the Royal Theatre, worked at Ouachita Marine from 1969 until 1976 and worked in maintenance at Henderson State University for nineteen years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth M. Kendrick and two brothers.
Survivors are two sons, Wayne Kendrick and wife, Anita of Hot Springs, AR, Charles Lee Kendrick and wife, Susie of Dallas, Texas; three grandchildren;five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews of Iowa.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 14th at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home with Bro. Robert Watson officiating. Interment with military honors will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 6-8 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
Suzanne Deaton Currey
(December 29, 1940 - September 7, 2012)
Suzanne Deaton Currey age 71 of Curtis died Friday, September 7, 2012. She was born December 29, 1940 in Nevada County the daughter of Royal and Corinne "Cissye" Thomas Deaton. She was a retired school teacher and a member of the Curtis Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Glen A. Currey.
Survivors include two sons, Brett Currey and his wife Rendi of Arkadelphia, and Michael Currey and his wife Lynda of Benton, one daughter, Katye Halliday and her husband Phillip of Curtis, her mother, Corinne "Cissye" Deaton of Arkadelphia, one sister, Janie Shirey of Little Rock, nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services will be 10 AM Tuesday in the Richwoods cemetery with Jeremy Bell officiating. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Monday at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia.
Memorials may be made to Richwoods cemetery or Group Living of Arkadelphia.
Connie R. Hill
(April 30, 1921 - August 31, 2012)
Connie R. Hill age 91 of Arkadelphia died Friday, August 31, 2012 in Arkadelphia. She was born April 30, 1921 in Clark County Arkansas the daughter of the late Matt and Florence Chandler Rinkle. She was a homemaker and a member of Chalybeate Valley Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James F. Hill; two sons, Curtis Hill and Johnny Mack Hill and one daughter, Lou Smith.
Survivors include three sons, Raymond (Rose) Hill of Amity, James (Kathy) Hill of Gurdon, Paul (Sue) Hill of Bismarck; one daughter, Joann (Doyle) Wade of Bismarck; one sister, Cleda Faulkner of Arkadelphia; sixteen grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 3rd at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia with Bro. Bobby Golden officiating. Interment will be in Hill cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
The family would to extend their appreciation to Twin Rivers Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Eula Dell Fulmer
(January 18, 1928 - August 30, 2012)
Eula Dell Fulmer age 84 of Arkadelphia died Thursday, August 30, 2012. She was born in Clark County January 18, 1928 the daughter of Joe and Ethel Mae Ham Fulmer. She was a retired sales clerk for Sterling Stores and Wal-Mart. She was a member of the Gum Springs Baptist Church.
She is survived by her sister, Georgia Lou Fulmer of Arkadelphia.
Funeral services will be 2 PM Saturday, September 1st in the Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Anderson officiating. Burial will be in the Richland cemetery. Visitation will be 6-7:30 Friday evening at the funeral home.

Larry Ratliff
(October 24, 1946 - August 19, 2012)
Larry Ratliff, age 65 of Houston, Texas died Sunday, August 19, 2012 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. He was born October 24, 1946 in Benton, AR and was the son of the late Marion Calvin 'M.C.' Ratliff and Minnie James Ratliff. Mr. Ratliff retired from J.B. Hunt Transport last year after 25 years of service and receiving several awards for his dedication to the company. At his last professional milestone, he obtained the prestigious honor of 3 million miles of safe driving. Mr. Ratliff bravely battled cancer and was called to Heaven with his two sons by his side.
He is survived by his two sons, Kyle Ratliff and wife, Jeannie of Conway, AR, and Ryan Ratliff and partner, Eric Freedman of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; two brothers, Billy Ratliff and wife, Mary and Dee Ratliff of Caddo Valley, AR; two grandchildren, Kayleigh and Tyler Ratliff.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, August 23, 2012 at Caddo Valley Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Caddo Valley cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, August 22nd at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia.
Emma Jane Pollard
(February 24, 1926 - September 3, 2012)
Emma Jane Sheets Pollard 86, went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 3, 2012. Jane was born February 24, 1926 in Arkadelphia, AR. and was the daughter of the late William Hosea Sheets and Ida Belle Webb Sheets. Jane was married
51 years to the late Wayne D Pollard. They were retired owners of Pollard's Jewelry in Arkadelphia. She was a member of First Baptist Church and was the President of the Fidelis Sunday School class from 1997 thru 2005 and a member of the Beta Sigma Phi.
Survivors include: Her daughter Tamara Jane Pollard Bell of Arkadelphia, one son, Ronald Wayne Pollard of Olive Branch, MS, one sister Juanez Trout of Dallas, Texas, six grandchildren, and one great granddaughter.
Visitation will be 3-4 PM Wednesday at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home. A celebration of her life will follow in the Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Chapel with Dr. Lee McGlone officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund.
Floy M. Bennett

Floy M. Bennett age 85 of the New DeRoche Community near Bismarck died Monday, August 27, 2012 in Arkadelphia. She was born September 18, 1926 in Hot Spring County Arkansas, the daughter of Fred Rufus and Lillie Florence Burris Hartsell. She was retired from White House Manufacturing Co. near Hot Springs. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Ruby, Bud, Mae, Cecil and Delbert; and one grandson, Jeremy Lindstrom.
Survivors include her husband of sixty-seven years, L. G. Bennett; one son, Boyd Bennett and wife, Carolyn; one daughter, Patriece Bennett Lindstrom and husband, Steve; three grandchildren, Alicia Robertson, Kevin Bennett and Joshua Lindstrom; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 31st at Caney Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Ralph Ruffin officiating. Interment will be in Hickory Grove cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia.
