Margaret H. ('Margie') Gaskill, 93, of Hot Springs, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 23, 2013.
Margie was born July 14, 1919 in Greenville, South Carolina.
Margie is preceded in death by her loving husband Morriss Stanley 'Stan' Gaskill, sister, Alice McCallister, and brothers Reese Hawkins and Jasper Hawkins.
She is survived by her son Brian Gaskill of Hot Springs, daughter-in-law Valerie Gaskill of Montague, Michigan, nieces Alicia Woodard of Birmingham, Alabama and Meredith Wallin of Greenville, North Carolina, and nephew Allan Hawkins of Midland, Texas.
The family wishes to express special thanks to the staff of Heritage Health and Rehabilitation of Hot Springs who consistently provided loving care and concern to both Margie and Stan Gaskill during the years that they lived at Heritage.
The family also wishes to thank Arkansas Hospice for helping to care for Margie during the final weeks of her earthly life.
A memorial service for Margie and her husband Stan will be held on Wednesday at 3:00 P.M., at Trinity Church, 670 Panama Street, Hot Springs, with Brother Bobby Thornton officiating.

Vivian Lawler
December 25, 1923 - April 23, 2013
Vivian Bush Lawler died April 23, 2013 in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
She was born Christmas Day, 1923 in Prescott, Arkansas to Judge Dexter Bush and Amelia White Bush.
She and her family moved from Prescott when she was a child to Texarkana, Arkansas where she attended Patty Hill School and graduated from Arkansas High School in 1941.
She married
Allen Lawler, her high school sweetheart, in 1942 and was his ultimate fan as he ran track and played football at the University of Texas.
She loved the Texas Longhorns.
She lived in Hallsville, Texas for the last thirty-six years and, after her husband’s death, moved to join her girls in Arkansas.
She didn’t want to leave Texas, but did so begrudgingly and found a new home at West Shores Retirement Center in Hot Springs.
Mrs. Lawler was active in the PTA and Girl Scouts when her girls were in school.
She formerly worked at Kay’s Jewelers in Texarkana.
But her most honored position in life was Allen’s wife, that’s all she ever wanted to be.
She is predeceased by her husband, Allen Lawler; parents, Judge and Mrs. Dexter Bush; one sister, Amelia Bush Florence; and a nephew, Lt. Dexter Bush Florence.
She leaves behind daughters, Linda Branch of Cabot, Arkansas and Cathy Pierce (Tom) of Hot Springs, Arkansas; two grandchildren, Kimberly Anne Pierce of Austin, Texas and Thomas Pierce, Jr. of Dallas Texas; three great-grandchildren Caroline Pierce, Jack Pierce and Ben Pierce all of Dallas; and sister-in-law Lucille Nicholson of Hallsville.
She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank West Shores Retirement Center in Hot Springs for making Mother feel like a part of their family and to National Park Medical Center and its 2nd floor nurses for their care and compassion.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Hillcrest cemetery in Texarkana, Texas.

Vinton W. Knechtges II

Vinton W. Knechtges, II, of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, died Thursday, April 25, 2013.
He was born July 29, 1943 in San Diego, California to the late Vinton W. and Suzanne Knechtges.
Vint's home for most of his life was in Minnesota where he graduated from University of Minnesota with a degree in Economics.
He was an entrepreneur, stockbroker, and builder-remodeler.
He loved life and loved meeting new people and he always tried new adventures.
He loved to read, loved photography, enjoyed fine food in restaurants and at home, loved exotic and classic high performance cars, and studied investment ideas and concepts.
He and his wife, Karen, moved from Minnesota to Alaska and lived there a total of 6 years.
From there they moved to Corpus Christi, Texas until they moved to Arkansas.
He loved to tell stories about his adventures in Alaska, canoeing in Minnesota, and most of all telling stories about all the camping trips that he and his wife had throughout their life together.
Vint is survived by his wife Karen Knechtges of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dale and Diana Voss of Minnesota; nephews, Ryan Voss, Keven Voss, Michael Voss, Shawn Voss, Jason Voss, Corey Koenig, Chad Koenig and Kyle Koenig.
A memorial service will be at 3:00 on Saturday, May 4th at Caruth Village Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Bailey officiating.
Charles John Holcomb
October 26, 1929 - April 23, 2013
Reverend Charles John Holcomb, 83, of Hot Springs, died April 23, 2013.
He was born October 26, 1929 in Egypt, Arkansas to the late Joe and Olivia Holcomb.
He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-three years, Greta Holcomb; two daughters, Carlotta and Richard Fincher and Sherri Glover (Ronnie Morton); seven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren and one sister, Bonnie Thornton.
He is predeceased by six siblings.
Visitation will be from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home.
Service will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church with Brother John McCallum and Bro. Horace Gray officiating.
Honorary pallbearers include the Jordan Class of First Baptist Church and Arkansas Hospice.
Lowell C. Peterson
July 26, 1928 - April 22, 2013
Lowell C. Peterson, 84, of Hot Springs Village passed away Monday, April 22, 2013 at Arkansas Hospice.
He was born July 26, 1928 in Forest City, Iowa to the late C.L. and Leonore Peterson.
Lowell grew up in Buffalo Center, Iowa and graduated from Luther College.
He attended graduate school at the University of Iowa.
Lowell served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
He had a forty year long career in the home mortgage and banking industries.
Lowell loved music and always made sure he was a member in the church choir.
He played piano and traveled Europe while playing with the Army Band.
Lowell was a lifetime golfer who dearly loved his family and friends.
Lowell is survived by his loving wife, Fran Peterson; sons, Mark Peterson of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, David Peterson of El Paso, Texas, Paul Peterson of El Paso, Texas and John Peterson (Ky) of El Paso; stepson, Mitch Carney (Charlotte) of Houston, Texas; stepdaughters, Pam Utter (Dan) of San Ramon, California and Dawn McCarrell of Aurora, Colorado; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be at 12:00 p.m. Thursday at Woodlands Presbyterian Church with funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m. with Dr. Jim Farley officiating.
Pallbearers include David Peterson, Mitch Carney, John Peterson, Mark Peterson, Paul Peterson, Dan Utter, Spencer Carney and Charles Opela.

Jon Michel Harrison

Jon Michael Harrison, 24, of Hot Springs Village passed away Thursday, April 25, 2013.
Jon loved music and had a personality that would light up a room.
He was a #1 fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Jon will be missed by a host of family and friends.

Jackie Wayne Graves, 66, of Hot Springs went to be with the Lord Wednesday, June 19, 2013.
He was born June 30, 1946 in Hot Springs to Bert and Sylvania Graves.
Wayne was an avid hunter and fisherman and he enjoyed gardening.
He was a member of Hamilton Church of God.
He was a hard working, devoted family man.
Wayne was dearly loved and will be deeply missed.
He was predeceased by his parents and sisters, JoAnn Graves and Patricia Caldwell.
Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Frances Graves of Hot Springs; sons, Larry Graves and Shawn Graves of Hot Springs; daughter, Jacqueline Hodges of Hot Springs; brothers, Roger Graves (Sharon A.) of Hot Springs and Billy Graves (Deelena) of Benton; sisters, Bertha Lanita Rodgers (Ron) of Hot Springs Village, Shirley Sims (Forrest) of Hot Springs, Beverly Speers of Branson, Missouri, Ramona Robbins (Floyd 'Bucky') of Bentonville and Rhonda Johnson (Michael) of Hot Springs; grandchildren, Shan Godwin, Amber Godwin, Erin K. Harris and Jordan Graves; and six great grandchildren.

Mary Lee Smith
July 6, 1937 - June 23, 2013
Beloved mother, sister and aunt, Mary Lee Smith, 75, of Hot Springs, went to be with the Lord on June 23, 2013.
She was born July 6, 1937 in Gurdon to Foster Raymond and Nell (Toland) Murphy.
She was a devoted member of Lake Hamilton Church of the Nazarene.
Mary retired from the National Park Service.
She is predeceased by her parents, sister, Helen Faye Murphy and sister, Peggy Parks.
Loving survivors include her daughter, Robin Gail Smith, of Hot Springs; sisters, Patsy Jane Powell, of Gurdon; Lavonne Thomason, of Shreveport, Louisiana; Barbara (Wayne) Daggett, of Malvern; and Cookie (Jimmy) Surratt, of Valiant, Oklahoma.
Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Rev. Rick Funderburk officiating.
