Ernest 'Skip' Lovell, 81, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, May 26, 2013.
He was born January 6, 1932 in Colume, South Dakota.
Skip lived a very adventurous life with traveling and his business ventures.
He came to Hot Springs in the sixties.
Skip brought the first 'Ducks' amphibious vehicles to Hot Springs.
He began his rental business soon after arriving here, expanding it over the years to purchasing the old Reynolds housing property in Jones Mill.
The most fun that he had with any of his ventures was his blueberry farm in Jones Mill.
Skip was always ready when someone said 'let’s go', which took him to several points of interest all over the world.
He is preceded in death by his parents, first wife Jean Lovell, brothers John and Buzz Lovell and grandchildren Adam Bennett and Amber Bennett.
Skip is survived by his wife, Helen Lovell; sons Wayne Bennett, George Bennett, and Brad Lovell; daughter Elayne Kip Waldo; sisters Kaye Biggerstaff, Gae McDonald and Marlene Lovell and their respective spouses; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family will have a reception from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home and wants to invite all of Skip’s friends to come in and share their memories of him.

Wava Adelaide Cockerill
August 20, 1928 - May 23, 2013
Wava Adelaide Cockerill, 84, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, passed away Thursday May 23, 2013.
She was born August 20, 1928 in Mitchell, South Dakota, to the late Oscar and Kathryn Wilson.
Wava was a devout Christian and taught Sunday school for many years.
Wava’s family helped to start Coal Valley Baptist Church in Coal Valley, Illinois.
She was a loving grandmother andan avid reader.
Wava is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Clayton Cockerill.
Survivors include daughter, Denna Craig (John); son, Rob Cockerill (Miranda); grandchildren, Gina, Julie, Bailey, Clay; great-grandchildren, Makenna, Max, Craig, and Macie.
Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Tuesday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home.
Graveside service will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Arkansas State Veterans cemetery in North Little Rock.
Sondra Joy (Myers) Welch
April 5, 1941 - May 26, 2013
Sondra Joy (Myers) Welch, 72, of Hot Springs Village passed away Sunday, May 26, 2013.
Sondra worked as an accounting manager for the San Diego Padres and after her career she volunteered as an AARP/IRS tax aide.
She played bridge and loved to read.
Sondra’s passion was her family and always supported her sons’ youth sports activities.
People around her felt special because of her kind heart and warm smile.
She was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Isla Rhea Williams.
Sondra is survived by her husband of 52 years, James C. Welch of Hot Springs Village; sons, Paul N. Welch (Ginger) of Houston, Texas and Jeffery C. Welch (Lori) of Atascadero, California; brother, Charles Ray Williams (Susan) of Lawrence, Kansas; sister, Lori Marie Edwards of San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren, Amber Miller, Hannah Stoll, Justus Welch and Lily Welch; and great grandchildren, C.J. Stoll and Colt Miller.
Funeral service will be 9:30 a.m. Monday at Caruth Village Funeral Home with Bill Rhoades officiating.
Interment will follow at 1:00 p.m. in Arkansas State Veterans cemetery in North Little Rock.

Sandra Elaine Meyer, 44, of Hot Springs, left this earth to walk with Jesus, her mother and sister on Thursday, May 23, 2013.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Sarah Lax and grandparents Charles and Margaret Johnson and sister Melissa Meyer (Beeson).
She is survived by a son Jerrod Cox (Jessica Merritt); 2 daughters Sasha Cox and her fiancé Daylan Hunt, and Hali Cox; 2 grandchildren Caydin Cox and Daylan Hunt II; 2 sisters Margaret Crosby (Chris) of Forsyth, GA and Heather Lax (Derell Tollette); a brother Ryan Lax (Tiffeny Stringer). Her partner Earl Beeson; and a host of special nieces, nephews and friends.
She was a caregiver for Al & Shelby Cassidy, who were also great friends.
She was of the Christian faith and loved decorating, Spa Days, pictures and making memories with family.
She will be missed as a wonderful mother, friend and confidant.
Pallbearers will be Earl Beeson, Jerrod Cox, Ryan Lax, Michael Cox, Brandon Pitts, Clinton Sheets, and Daylan Hunt.
Honorary Pallbearers are Al Cassidy, Ori Guinn, and Tony Scoggins.
Visitation will be 5-8 Sunday, May 26, 2013 at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home.

Raymond Dean Crowley, Sr., 69, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday May 28, 2013.
He was born February 29, 1944 in Knob Noster, Missouri, to Oliver Osborn Crowley, Sr. and Evelyn Brockman Crowley Graves.
Raymond was a Vietnam Veteran who served in the Air Force.
He was honored with a Bronze Star and the Airman’s Medal.
Raymond was a correctional officer for 22 years, serving mainly at Folsom State Prison.
Raymond is preceded in death by his father and sister, Beverly Stuhr.
Survivors include his mother; his wife of 40 years, Patricia Crowley; son, Ray Crowley; daughters, Liesa Strickland (Bill), Crystal McDaniel; brothers, David Crowley, Oliver Osborn Crowley, Jr.; sisters, Sharon Crowley, Betty Jean Moll, Mary Lou Holmes; grandchildren, Michelle, Sheleste, Brian, Ray Jr., Lauren, Amie and Tia.
Service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home Chapel.
J.B. Duff

J.B. Duff, 81, of Hot Springs passed away May 27, 2013.
He was born October 23, 1931 in Little Rock to Bill and Sally Duff.
J.B. was a U.S. Army veteran.
He owned a service station in Little Rock for over 30 years.
He then built and operated Duff Grocery near Lake Ouachita.
J.B. was a hardworking man of all trades.
He also enjoyed his remote control airplanes.
J.B. was a devoted family man who was dearly loved and will be deeply missed.
He was predeceased by his parents; granddaughter, Monica Leigh Frye; sister, Ola Mae Donnigan, Helen Perry and Thelma Kendrick; and brothers, Jewel Duff, Edgar Duff and Everet Duff.
J.B. is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Billie Duff; daughters, Debra Gateley and Jamie Frye; grandchildren, Chay Cochran and Jessica Frye; and great grandchildren, Tanner Summers, Keilee Rhude, Kate Elder and Luke Elder, all of Hot Springs.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Caruth Village Funeral Home with Bros. Jimmie Scott and Harold Elder officiating.
Pallbearers include Thaddeus Elder, Matthias Elder, Tanner Summers, Gary Harrison, Jim Seamon and Robert Blocker.
Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
IRENE JULIA SEABERG STOLTENBERG

Irene Julia Seaberg Stoltenberg born Sept. 24, 1923 to David and Julia Seaberg in Cicero IL entered eternal life Wednesday May 22, 2013 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Hot Springs Village AR after entering Hospice on Friday May 17th.
Irene graduated from high school in Downers Grove IL where she met her husband Donald A. Stoltenberg.
They were married
on Oct. 11, 1944 and shared 61 years of marriage.
Irene had the opportunity to travel the world with her husband.
While Don worked for Aramco, Arabian American Oil Company.
Don and Irene lived in Ras Tanura and Dhahran Saudi Arabia, Beirut Lebanon and The Hague Amsterdam.
After returning to the United States, they lived at Hide-A-Way Lake near Tyler Texas.
They moved to Hot Springs Village in 1992.
Irene and Don loved to travel so much so that Don was a licensed small plane pilot giving them opportunities for extra travel in the USA.
They were avid square dancers and enjoyed, golf, culture and the arts.
Irene's first love was her God as she lived a deep and strong faith, willing to share with others God's abiding love.
Irene loved her church, Village Bible Church and her church family.
She enjoyed volunteering, Bible studies, Shephard's group, Bible Study Fellowship and many other gatherings.
Irene loved animals and enjoyed when people would bring their pets to visit.
Her favorite place to eat was Home Plate.
Irene enjoyed meeting new people.
Irene is survived by family. Niece Susan Seaberg, Nephews Charles and Andrew Harasymiw, "son" Jim Harasymiw, "daughters" Ruthi Hadsell, Rosine and husband Andrew Hermodson-Olsen, "Grandchildren" Joseph (Emily) Dalen, Teresa, Jessica, Elizabeth, Daniel Hermodson-Olsen; Elizabeth Harasymiw.

She is preceded in death by her husband Don, brother David Seaberg, niece Julianna Seaberg, her parents and a host of family and many special friends.
Arrangements were handled by Caruth Funeral Home in Hot Springs Village.
A Celebration of Irene’s life in Christ was held on May 24th, 2013 at 10am at Village Bible Church, Hot Springs AR.
A Celebration of her life in Christ will be held on Tuesday July 23, 2013 at 10:30am at Modell Funeral Home, 7710 S Cass Ave, Darien IL 60561 followed with internment at the Clarendon Hills cemetery and Memorial Gardens next to her beloved Donald.
