Fern V. Flood, 91, of Rogers, AR passed away Monday, January
19, 2015 at Innisfree Nursing and Rehab in Rogers, AR. She was
born June 12, 1923 in Newton County, AR to Overton Bettis and
Ora Bell Gilmore Atkinson.
Fern was a hard working, God-fearing christian woman who
loved her family dearly.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Abe M. Flood; one
grandson, Justin Toms; and a son-in-law, Charles Atwood this
past year.
Fern is survived by three daughters, Roma Toms, Browne
Atwood and Pam VanNatter, and husband, Alan; five
grandchildren, Chad Toms and wife, Jennifer, Hayes Atwood and
wife, Kelley, Ashlea Browne Wupperman and husband, Patrick,
and Rees Atkinson VanNatter; seven great-grandchildren, Roman
Toms, Jamison Fern Toms, Megan Brett Atwood, Nathan James
Atwood, Ella Browne Wupperman, Grant Patrick Wupperman
and Gavin Hayes Wupperman.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, January 22,
2015 at Stockdale-Moody Funeral Chapel in Rogers.
Graveside service will be held at 2:00p.m., Friday, January 23,
2015 at White Chapel cemetery in Kansas City North, MO.
Helen "Lucille" Simpson Phillips
January 22, 1920 - December 2, 2015
Cave Springs, Arkansas
Helen 'Lucille' Simpson Phillips, 95, of Cave Springs,
AR passed away December 2, 2015 at Circle of Life in
Springdale, AR. She was born January 22, 1920 in Cave
Springs to Roy and Norma Ford Simpson. She was raised
in the Cave Springs area where she attended school at
Evening Star, Liberty Bell and Cave Springs schools.
She met and married
Fred Macon Phillips in 1940. In
1959, Fred and Lucille relocated to Alta Loma, CA.
While raising four children, she worked a variety of jobs
including the chicken plant in Bentonville, food service
for Bentonville School District, manager of an area hotel
in MO, picking fruit in CA and Washington; raising
chickens, with her favorite being many years as a nurse’s
aide in CA.
Lucille and Fred returned to AR in 1978 to enjoy their
retirement years, although Lucille never really retired.
She stayed busy with her large vegetable and flower
gardens, crocheting and quilting many works of art. She
was an avid reader and enjoyed watching the Razorbacks
and PGA golf, spending time with family and friends and
especially enjoyed time with her grandchildren.
Lucille was a Christian and a member of the Church of
Christ in Cave Springs.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Phillips;
son, Gary Phillips; brother, Bobby Simpson; sister, Emma
Jean Marchant; son-in-law, Howard Sands and grandson,
Wayne Sands.
Survivors include one daughter, Marlene Sands of Cave
Springs; 2 sons, Larry G. Phillips (Rosalinda) of Chino,
CA and Bruce Phillips (Linda) of Sacramento, CA; 8
grandchildren, Rick Sands of Ponca City, OK, Lena
Lewis (Danny) of Bentonville, AR, Dale Sands (Danna)
of Rogers, AR, Larry Phillips, Jr (Kylie), Shawn Phillips
(Danielle) of Chino, CA, Melissa Phillips of San
Francisco, CA, Rebecca Phillips and Taylor Phillips of
Sacramento, CA; 13 great grandchildren, Derek Sands,
Christie Knisley (Mark), Jeremy Cavness (Abby),
Shontelle Hicks (Dustin), Ryan Sands, Kyle Sands
(Rasha), Keagan Sands (Ashley), Kinae Gibson (Shaun),
Colby Sands, Chase Phillips, Rudy Phillips, Aiden
Phillips, Kamdin Phillips; 15 great-great grandchildren,
Macy, Taylor, Suttyn, Cully, Kaius, Ellie, Griffin, Peyton,
Beckham, Maddison, Raky, Kaylex, Ziggy, Amilia and
Landon; brother, Melvin Simpson (Norma) of Rogers,
AR and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be at 10:00AM Saturday, December
5th, 2015 at the Cave Springs Church of Christ with
Travis Harbin and Roger Autrey officiating. Burial will
follow at Phillips cemetery in Cave Springs. Lucille’s
grandchildren and great- grandchildren will serve as
pallbearers. There will be a gathering for a time of
fellowship at the church following the burial.
Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until service time.

Jimmie Marie Phillips Russell

Jimmie Marie Phillips Russell, 81, of Bentonville, AR died
Sunday, November 22, 2015 in Bentonville. She was born near
Bentonville December 7, 1933 to James and Dollie Marie Phillips.
Jimmie attended Bentonville schools through all grades, graduating
in 1952. She took courses at Tulsa Commercial Art, Shorthand
and Typing. She was a bookkeeper for 12 years at Harris Baking
Co. in Rogers. She retired from Walmart after 16 years, as an
invoice clerk and in ladies wear. She was a member of Oakley
Chapel United Methodist Church where she had served as
treasurer, lay leader, membership secretary and historian.
In 1964, she married
Al Russell. They were married
almost 50
years at the time of his death.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Al;
brothers, Robert Phillips, Charles Phillips; nephews, Jim Shepperd,
Dwane Phillips, and Robert 'Bobby' Phillips.
Survivors include nieces, Charlotte Caldwell and husband Curtis
of Oklahoma City, OK, Audra Williams of Rogers, AR, Mary
Ellen Drymon of Anderson, MO; nephews, Steve Sheppard of Pea
Ridge, AR, Bill Sheppard of Washburn, MO; many great nieces,
nephews and cousins, as well as special ones in her life, Bob and
Thelma Skaggs, Alice Bonds, and Carol Greear.
Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 5,
2015 at Oakley Chapel United Methodist Church.
John Anthony Watkins
July 8, 1961 - July 26, 2015

John Anthony Watkins, 54, of Rogers, AR passed away July
26, 2015 at his residence in Rogers. He was born July 8, 1961
in Long Beach, California to William Dwane and Joan Frances
Arbuckle Watkins.
He proudly served in the United States Navy.
John had a great sense of humor and was always making
people laugh. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather
and, most of all, a friend to all who knew him.
He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Rogers.
John is survived by his wife of 32 years, Lori Hantelman
Watkins; daughter, Erin Watkins; granddaughter, Sophia Grace
Houk, both of Rogers; his mother, Joan Watkins and one
brother, William Jerome Watkins, both of Coweta, OK.
Private services were held.

Teresa Dawn Mitchell

Teresa Dawn Mitchell, born in Inglewood, CA on October 12th, 1965, gave breast cancer the
biggest battle she could fight. On Sunday, August 7th, she went to heaven surrounded by her
family. She is now an angel in heaven with her dear Grandmother, Irene Mitchell, and her
‘adopted' father in law, Joe Johnson.
Cherishing her memory are her parents, Don and Terri Mitchell, her sister and brother in law,
Michelle and Randy Johnson, her Brother and sister in law, Donni and Sharon Mitchell.
'KIKI', as she was lovingly called, was a second mother to her nieces and nephews, Mitch,
Meghan, Michael, and Marguerite Johnson, Jeremiah Mitchell, Tiffany and Maggie Bogan, and
great nephew Gage Ferguson.
She had many Aunts and Uncles including Carolyn and CH Kerr, Jim Mitchell, Charles and
Carol Mitchell, and Bob and Ann Mitchell. Cousins Tammy, DeAnna, Gavin, Harrison, Vickie
Mitchell and Debbie Lamb.
She also leaves behind a multitude of friends who loved her dearly, childhood friends, college
friends, co - workers, and her special support group faithful friends. Teresa loved every one of
you.
Teresa earned a Bachelors Degree in Education from the U of A at Fayetteville and Masters
Degree from UCA. She taught at Christ the King Catholic School where she loved her students
and truly felt those were her children. She also taught in the NLR, and LR school districts.
The family would like to thank all of Teresa’s special friends who have supported her and
prayed for her during this difficult time.
Funeral Mass with The Very Rev. Msgr. Francis I. Malone officiating, will be at Christ the King
Catholic Church in Little Rock on Thursday, August 11th at 1:00 pm.

Joan A. Clifford
July 27, 1939 - June 20, 2015

Joan A. Clifford, 75, of Bentonville, Arkansas passed away June 20,
2015 at Circle of Life Legacy Village in Bentonville. She was born
July 27, 1939 in Philadelphia, PA to John Ernest and Ruth McClintock
Albrecht.
She earned a Bachelor of Arts from Moravian College in Bethlehem,
PA and was recently awarded an Honorary Associate Degree in Arts
and Letters from the Northwest Arkansas Community College. She
served on the Board of Trustees at NWACC from January 2001 until
December 2012. While on the board she served as secretary for two
years and chair for two years. She also was an integral part of the
formation of the President’s Advisory Council on the Arts at NWACC.
She served as board liaison for the advisory group during her time on
the board and, following her board service, stayed a part of the group as
a community representative. Her work with the Advisory Council has
helped support students in the arts and the college-wide fine arts
collection.
Joan was very active in the Bentonville community. She served as
assistant director of the Peel House Museum from 1992 to 2000. Other
activities included service on the Liaison Committee of the Downtown
Planning Group for Square Renovation; past director of Helping Hands;
past president of the Bentonville Library Commission; past state
president of Questers International; past president of the Bentonville
Garden Club and past vice president of the Northwest Arkansas
Tourism Association. She also served on the boards of the Arkansas
Association of Two-Year Colleges, the Northwest Arkansas Children’s
Shelter, and the Civic Symphony of Benton County.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Bentonville, was a
Session member, moderator of the Worship Committee, a past officer of
the Presbyterian Women, a member of PEO Bentonville CL Chapter and
Bentonville Garden Club.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Ruth Albrecht and one
son, Douglas Andrew Clifford.
Joan is survived by her husband, Ed Clifford; one daughter, Lynne Card
and husband, Philip of Bloomington, IN; one brother, John Albrecht and
wife, Ethyl of Florence, SC; and two grandchildren, Alexandra Card
and Nickolas Card.
A memorial service will be at 3:00PM, Thursday, June 25, 2015 at First
Presbyterian Church in Bentonville with Pastor Katie Cummings
officiating.

Robert Lucas Davis
January 21, 1935 - April 8, 2015

Robert Lucus Davis Jr., 80, formerly of Wilmington, NC, passed away peacefully in his home in Rogers, Arkansas, April 8, 2015, after a lengthy
illness. He was born January 21, 1935, in Ancon Canal Zone, Panama to
Robert Lucus Davis, Sr., and Josephine Aleana Davis.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Michael and beloved son,
Kevin.
He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Sharon; his son, Scott Davis, (who
traveled often from Wilmington to Arkansas to help care for his father), and his
wife, Sabra; grandchildren, Jonni and Kyle, Kevin’s fiancée, Judi Salim of
Wilmington; extended family, Sharon’s son, Brad Eason and wife, Cindy;
grandson, Kyle; Sharon s daughter, Nicole Hayes and husband, Rodney;
grandchildren, RJ and Danielle; friends that were very important in Bob’s life
include Jim Hayes, Debbie and Keith Hall of Rogers, Suzanne Lineback,
Jeannie Wade, David Dreher, Lloyd Hekhuis of Wilmington, NC, and Jan
Hekhuis of Burgaw, NC; lifelong friends, Teddy Caine of Reno, NV, Roy
Franchio of Graton, California, and the late Doug Heller and wife, Rita of Ann
Arbor, MI.
After graduation from high school in 1954, Bob joined the U.S. Marine Corp,
serving two years and earning the National Defense Service Medal. He
attended college in San Mateo, California before moving in 1964 to New York
to open a restaurant at the world’s fair and later working for Eastern Airlines.
In 1969 he moved to Wilmington, NC where he managed several restaurants.
The mid ‘70s Bob became the Director of Wilmington Arts Council. Together,
with a wonderful committee of volunteers, Piney Woods Festival became an
annual event for years to come. Greenfield Park Amphitheatre became a venue
for 'Monday Night in the Park' presenting outdoor plays and local talent. In
his early days in Wilmington, Bob spent time in Thalian Hall, engaged in the
many aspects of community theatre. He won an award for supporting actor in
the play Once Upon A Mattress!
Bob Davis had a wonderful life and regaled family and friends with stories of
his many adventures, these stories will be told for many years to come. He
loved us all unconditionally and he was so loved.

Deborah Anne Evenson

Deborah Anne Evenson, 61, of Rogers, Arkansas, passed away Saturday,
November 21, 2015 at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville, Arkansas.
She was born January 20, 1954 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Vernon
Krueger and Carol McCanney.
Debbie enjoyed fishing with her husband, reading, long baths and
spending time with her grandkids.
She worked in customer service for Consumer Testing Laboratories and
became very close with her co-workers and friends.
Debbie is survived by her husband of 42 years, Steve; one daughter, Misty
Pettigrew and husband, Steve of Bentonville; one son, Ryan Evenson of
Rogers; four grandchildren, Taylor, Austin, Maddox and Mavia; mother,
Carol Beaulieu; three sisters, Laura Becker, Colleen Lorge, and Maureen
Feyder; three brothers, Mike Krueger, Terry Becker and Tim Becker all of
Minnesota; as well as other close family and dear friends.
A Memorial Visitation will be held from 11 am - 12:30 pm, Wednesday,
Nov. 25, 2015, at Stockdale-Moody Funeral Chapel in Rogers, Arkansas,
followed by a private family graveside service at Benton County
