Joe William 'J.W.' Bazarow, 84, of DeWitt, died Friday, Feb. 23, 2007.
He was a life long resident of DeWitt.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Wilma, Jewel and Dora; brother Lewis; and son Jerry Wayne Bazarow; and wives Betty Beam Bazarow and Elizabeth Mc-Graw Bazarow.
Survivors include his sons Greg Bazarow of Gillett and Jerry Don Maier of Sherwood; daughters Shirley McGraw and Jodyne Gilbert of Lonoke, Bonnie Brewer of Stuttgart and Sherri Selig of DeWitt; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday, March 1, at The General Assembly Church of the Firstborn with burial at DeWitt cemetery by Essex Funeral Home.
Vernon L. Cruthis
Vernon Leonard Cruthis, 77, of Lonoke, died at the Springhill Baptist Hospital in North Little Rock, Arkansas on Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2006.
He was a member of the Beebe Assembly of God Church and a retired farmer.
Vernon is survived by: His wife, Grace Alma Smith Cruthis of Lonoke; one son, Roger Stanley Cruthis and wife Carol of Little Rock; three daughters, Karen Lynn Roberson and husband Gary of Alexander, Debra Jean Harvey of Ward, Mary Rebecca Hodges and husband Larry of Des Arc; two brothers, John Cruthis and wife Betty of Hunter, Doug Cruthis and wife Sandra of Hazen; four sisters, Virginia Oltmann and husband Adolph of Brinkley, Lucy Brown of Sidney, Mildred Lindsey and husband Leonard of Cord, Betty Gabe and husband Charles of Forrest City; one grandson, Zachery S. Brimer; two step-grandchildren, Michael Hodges & Chris Hodges; one step-granddaughter, McKenzie Hodges.
Services were held Nov. 24 at Bob Neal & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Brinkley with Rev. Glenn Dorsey and Bro. Larry Hodges officiating.
Burial will be in Shady Grove cemetery in Clarendon by Bob Neal & Sons Funeral Home of Brinkley.

Jason Burton, 35, of Cabot passed away Nov. 30, 2006. He was born Sept. 4, 1971 in California to JoAnn Burton and the late Richard W. Burton.
He is survived by his mother JoAnn Burton of Cabot.

Linda Graham
Linda Graham, 66 of Conway, died Friday, Dec. 1, 2006. She retired from CHDC after 291/2 years. She also worked for ILS for 15 years.
Survivors include her mother Shirley Livingston of Greenbrier; step-mother Kathryn Martin of Murphy, N.C.; children Cyndi Strick and husband Robert of Greenbrier, Jackie Rundel and husband Kurt of Metamora, Mich., Maj. John Blackstone of Belleville, Mich., Cheryl Gall of Cabot, and Paul Gall and wife Tara, and Amy Graham all of Conway; sisters Nancy Poole and husband Damon of Guy, and Diane Voss and husband Jim of Plymouth, Mich.; brother Dick Nestor and wife Jane of Murphy, N.C.; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service, officiated by Roy Johnson, was held Monday, Dec. 4, at Griffin Leggett Funeral Home in Conway.

Charles Rice
Charles 'Judge' 'Curly' 'Chuck' Abbott Rice, 66 of Cabot, passed away Dec. 1, 2006.
He was born Oct. 13, 1940 in Furlow, Arkansas to the late Charles Wesley Rice & Frances Lucile Wilson-Rice.
During High School 'Judge' was one of the star quarterbacks at Cabot High School.
He is the 2006 Arkansas State Pool Player of the Year and finished in the rankings at the National Pool Championship in Las Vegas.
Preceding him in death is one daughter Brenda Ann Rice and one brother Edward Eugene Rice.
Survivors include two daughters, Tami Lowe & Tina Barnwell of Kansas; one sister Thelma Dean Rice-Robinson of Cabot; several grandchildren and many other family members and dear friends.
Services were held Dec. 5, 2006 at Cabot United Methodist Church with Bro. Dennie Calhoun officiating.
Serving as pallbearers were Kevin Barker, Jason Hefley, Chuck McGinty, Danny Barker, Robert Murphy and Tim Caplinger.
Graveside services were held at Redmen cemetery in DeQueen.

Perry A. Smith
Perry Alan Smith, 47, of Cabot died Monday, Dec. 4, 2006 in Cabot.
He was born April 4, 1959 to John William and Jan Harrison Smith in Columbus, Indiana.
Perry was preceded in death by his father; and grandparents, Homer and Ruth Smith and Roy R. Harrison and Amanda L. Harrison.
He was a volunteer firefighter and past fire chief of Austin.
Perry worked as a cabinet maker and was member of United Food and Commercial Workers Union.
He is survived by his mother; special companion, Susan Sims of Cabot, step-mother, Anna Smith of Florida; children, Melinda Smith of Ohio, Brittany Sims, Angela Sims, and John Sims all of Cabot; a sister, Twila (E.W.) Norman of Austin; a brother, Paul Anthony (Barbara) Smith of Cabot, and a host of nieces and nephews. Perry is also survived two uncles, James W. (Phyllis) Harrison of Dayton, Ohio and Jack R. (Betty) Harrison of Decatur, Alabama.
Services are 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8, 2006 at Grace Fellowship Church with Allen Alford officiating.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Raymond Lesley Willfong, Jr., 58, of Austin died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2006.
He was born February 7, 1948 in Little Rock to Raymond Willfong Sr. & the late Ozella Willfong.
Survivors include his wife Betty Willfong of Austin; children Carrie Emler of Topeka, Kan., Kelly Perry of Austin, Raymond Willfong III of Wichita, Kan., Antonio Ramirez of Cabot, Angelica Griffith of Ohio, and Carlos Ramirez of Ohio; father Raymond Willfong, Sr., of North Little Rock; sister Patricia Cox of Mabelvale; and nine grandchildren.
A private family service will be held.

Herman Thompson
Herman Thompson, 75, of Bryant died Saturday, Nov. 25, 2006.
He was a retired letter carrier and an Army veteran of the Korean War.
He was a member of the 65th Street Church of Christ in Little Rock.
He is survived by his wife Frances Thompson of Bryant; sons Woody Thompson of Carlisle, Tim Thompson of Chattanooga, Tenn., Tracy Hamilton of Birmingham, Ala., James Hamilton of Constanta, Romania, and Tom Hamilton of Tampa, Fla.; twelve grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers W. L. Thompson of Little Rock, Frank Thompson of Phoenix, Ariz., and J. W. Thompson of DeValls Bluff; and sister Lucille Hampton of Hazen.

Gladys McGhee
Gladys Wesson McGhee, 95, died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2006.
She and her husband had lived in the Scott area since 1938, was a charter member of Toltec Baptist Church and taught 40 years in Lonoke, Pulaski and North Little Rock School districts.
She was preceded her in death by her husband; sister Alice; brother Luther Wesson; and daughter-in-law Francis Ann Fielder McGhee.
She is survived by her son and Sam McGhee and wife Nadine of North Little Rock; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 5, at Toltec Baptist Church in Scott with Bro. Bert Thomas and Otis Chapman. Burial followed at Keo cemetery at Keo.

Norwood Hill, Sr.
Norwood Hill, Sr., 81, of Dumas died Monday, Nov. 27, 2006.
He was a lifetime farmer, member of the Hopedale Missionary Baptist Church, Deacon of Hopedale Missionary Baptist Church in Winchester and Bayou Meto Missionary Baptist Church for the past 56 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Eugene, Julius, James (Bo) and Grover Hill.
He is survived by his wife Vida Faye Hill of Dumas; son E.N. (Chip) Hill, Jr., of Dumas; daughters Mary Lewellen of Dumas, Sandy Williams of Rogers, and Cindy Hilburn of Monticello; brothers Maxwell and Norfleet (Ted) Hill both of Dumas, Richelieu Hill of Lonoke, and Earnest Harold (Sonny) Hill of Calhoun, Ga.; sister Beulah Hill Pearson of Cabot; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 29, at Hopedale Missionary Baptist Church with burial in Hopedale cemetery in Winchester.

Martha Petray
Martha Earle Weaver Petray, 76, of Austin died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2006.
She owned Vee & Gee Athletics store in Jacksonville and was a member of Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce, where she was the Sertoma Business Woman of the year.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband James C. Petray; three brothers; and four sisters.
She is survived by her children Sherry Griffin of Jacksonville, Michael Petray of Austin, and Sally Dickson of Rose Bud; sisters Peggy Griffin of Virginia and Callie Burger of California; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 2, at Jacksonville Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Ballard officiating.
Interment was in the Memorial Gardens cemetery in Jacksonville.
