Ralph Roberts
Ralph Roberts, 76, of Roland, OK, died December 10, 2004 in Oklahoma City, OK. He was the owner of R & S Auto Parts and was active in the Auto Parts and Service Business for 58 years. He was a member of the Bruton Lodge #30, Past Monarch of the Amrita Grotto, he was a member of the Shrine, and the Roland Lion's Club, and U.S. Navy Veteran serving during World War II.
He is survived by his wife Charlene "Bill" Roberts of the Home, two daughters Leisa Irvin and Tina Sampson of Muldrow, one son Dwayne Roberts of Muldrow, two sisters, Doris Fletcher and Clarice Chisum both of Muldrow, five brothers, Melvin Roberts of Fort Smith, Roy, Delmas, Kenny, and Earl Roberts all of Roland, five grandchildren, Galen Irvin, Daxx Roberts, Rachel Irvin, Drew Roberts, and Kyle Sampson. He was preceded in death by a sister Betty Hunter.
Services will be Wednesday, December 15th at 11:00 AM in the First Baptist Church of Muldrow with burial to follow in the Woodlawn Memorial Park in Fort Smith all under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Ben Daniel, Rodney Carter, Tommy, Johnny, Jeff, and Kendall Roberts. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jim Young, Paul Liles, Tom Tally, Bill Wilson, Don Carter, Dean Sampson, Dick Nelson, Tommy Fowler, Marvin Holland, Waylon Jones, and the Bruton Lodge #30.
The family will greet friends at Edwards Funeral Home on Tuesday Evening from 6-8 PM.

Wesley Lee Horn
Wesley L. Horn, 58, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away December 12, 2004 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He was a car salesman and an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 16, 2004 at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial at The U.S. National cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral home.
He is survived by his wife Judy; two daughters: Casey Chastain and husband Nick of Fort Smith, Arkansas and Tracy Folks and her husband Chris of Greenwood, Arkansas; one son: Wayland Horn and wife Dottie of Fort Smith, Arkansas; one sister: Charlotte Powell and her husband Rex of Bridgeport, Texas; brother: Manuel Horn of Van Buren, Arkansas; three grandchildren; Ryan Horn, Jacob Horn and Austin Chastain.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Horn, Russell Horn, Chris Folks, Nick Chastain, Steve Horn and DeWayne Crouch.
Family will greet friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. -8:00 p.m. at Edwards Funeral Home.
Becky Jackson Guyton
Becky Jackson Guyton, 36, entered into the loving arms of Jesus Christ, Friday, December 10, 2004. She was the former assistant manager of Taco Bell in Van Buren. Becky is preceded in death by her parents, Phyllis and Bill Jackson; a sister, Rita Blasingame; and a lifelong friend, Henry Hamilton.
She is survived by her husband, Michael of Spiro, OK; one son, Montana Ruth of Fort Smith; two daughters, Tesla & Kayla Guyton both of Spiro, OK; one sister and brother-in-law, Karen and Larry Stem of Kibler; two nephews, Christopher Fears of Little Rock, Chad Blasingame of Fort Smith; five nieces, Chrysty Pixley of Austin, TX, Kendra Blasingame of Little Rock, Baylor Miles of Kibler, and Zoey Pixley of Austin, TX and Maddie Fears of Little Rock. Becky was blessed by a loving family and supported by lifelong friends.
Graveside service will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 14, 2004 at Gill cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home.

Kathryn Satterfield
Kathryn Satterfield, 84, of Spiro, died December 9th 2004 in Spiro. She was a Homemaker.
She is survived by her husband Gene of the Home, two daughters Virginia Miller of Spiro and Kathey Satterfield of Spiro; three sons, Charles Russell of San Diego, CA; Wayne Satterfield of Wrightwood, CA; and Teddy Satterfield of Spiro; twelve grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be Monday, December 13, 2004 at 12:00 noon in the Woodlawn Memorial Park Chapel with burial to follow in the Woodlawn Memorial Park all under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
The family will greet friends at Edwards Funeral Home on Sunday from 2-4 PM.
Ronald Taber
Ronald D. Taber, 65, of Fort Smith, died December 14, 2004 in Fort Smith. He was a retired Quality Engineer for the Whirlpool Corporation after 37 years of service, a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, and the Whirlpool Management Club.
He is survived by his wife Joanne Taber of the Home, a daughter Lana and her husband Gary Hunt of Fort Smith, a son Brent Taber of Fort Smith, a sister June Douglas of Fort Smith, and a brother James Taber of Fort Smith, along with two grandchildren Taber and Jensen Hunt.
Rosary will be Thursday evening at 7:00 PM in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel and Mass will be Friday morning at 10:00 AM in Christ the King Catholic Church, with burial to follow in the Woodlawn Memorial Park, all under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Tony Taber, Mark Douglas, John Means, David McSpadden, Larry Schwartz, and Bill Clark. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Eoff, friends from the Whirlpool Corporation, and anyone who loves golf.
Charles Bittick
Charlie Bittick age 54, of Fort Smith, passed away Sunday, December 12, 2004 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He worked for KPOM Television in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He is preceded in death by his parents Bill and Dorothy Bittick and one daughter, Monica Dugger.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday December 15, 2004 at the Fentress Mortuary Chapel with burial at Forest Park under the direction of Fentress Mortuary Fort Smith, Arkansas.
He is survived by his wife Cathy, two daughters Emily Bittick of Haskell, Oklahoma and Carmen Webb of Fort Smith, seven grandchildren Rachel and Justin Dugger, Britany Wilson, Caleb Hayes, Kelsey, Jacob, and Grant Webb.

Eva Dean Corbell, 51, of Springdale died Tuesday, December 14, 2004 in a Springdale hospital. She was a machine operator at Mead Container in Fort Smith, a member of the United Paper Workers Union and was a Methodist. She is preceded in death by her father, Leland Harper and a niece, Amanda Stewart.
She is survived by her husband, Bill of the home; her mother, Willadean Harper of Sikeston, MO; five sisters, Linda Bagwell of Collierville, TN, Pat Hosey of Atoka, TN, Debbie Stewart, Barbara Yancy and Mary Calhoun all three of Sikeston, MO; five brothers, Butch Harper of Bertrand, MO, Jimmy Harper of Charleston, MO, Bobby and Billy Harper both of Sikeston, MO, Ricky Harper of Benton, MO; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, December 17, 2004 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Gill cemetery in Van Buren.
Pallbearers will be Paul and Justin Harper, Mark Curtis, John Hosey, Brian and Leland Corbell.

Miracle Rena Crossno, infant daughter of Michele Young, passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2004 at Arkansas Children?s Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Funeral Service will be 12:30 pm Friday, December 17, 2004 at Woodlawn Memorial Park Chapel with interment in Woodlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home in Fort Smith.
She is survived by her mother Michele Young, one sister Sierra Crossno of the home; two brothers Christopher and Marcus Crossno both of the home and her grandparents Sissy and Mike Chamberlain of Van Buren, Arkansas and James Potts of Fort Smith, Arkansas.
Myrtle Ruth McKaughan
On December 14, Myrtle Ruth McKaughan gently stepped thru the door to heaven. She was 88 years old and a true Southern Belle to the very end. In her shining state of Grace, she was greeted by Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. She laughed out loud as she was re-united with her beloved and loving husband Fred. She tenderly embraced her daughter Dejuana and was warmed by a hug from grandson Tracy. Myrtle Ruth was also joined by sisters Naomi and Mary.
Left behind to love her and miss her is daughter Tanya Freeman and husband David of Fort Smith; grandson Matt Freeman and wife Pam; and great grandson Brennan of Fort Smith; Grandson Mark Freeman of Fort Smith. Mark and his grandmother were a great blessing to each other for many seasons. Myrtle Ruth also leaves her daughter Betty Anne Rector and husband Bill of Muskogee, Oklahoma. Betty Ann blesses her mother in eternal gratitude. Grandson Tracy Dayton Thomas who waited for her in Heaven; granddaughter Lana Renee Williams of Stigler, Oklahoma and granddaughter Monta Kay Horn of Fort Smith; Monta was especially devoted and loving to her grandmother thru all their years together.
This immediate family greatly loved and respected Myrtle Ruth as Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother.
Myrtle Ruth leaves other family members and friends. She loved the time she spent with each one of them.
There will be visitation on December 16, 2004 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Edwards Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Memorial Park on December 17th, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home. To bless her and consecrate her to God will be Reverend Tom Ulrich of Central Presbyterian Church where she was a member of for many years. There will be a luncheon at Central Presbyterian Church prior to the graveside service.
Myrtle Ruth and her heavenly family stand straight and tall in their new restored bodies, laughing and loving for eternity. We will miss them and long for them until it is our time to join them.
Lewis Arthur Evans
Lewis A. Evans, 82, of Van Buren, Arkansas passed away December 15, 2004 in Fayetteville, Arkansas He was a plumber and pipefitter for local #364, and a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles #208 and Indio Moose Lodge in California. He was also in the Navy. He was preceded in death by his son Jerry Evans.
Family will visit with friends Friday evening from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at Edwards Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held in San Bernardino, California at Mt. View cemetery at a later date .
He is survived by his wife Linda Evans of Van Buren, Arkansas; one daughter: Kathy Sanders of California; son: Rick Evans of Little Rock, Arkansas; eleven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
J. Paul Willis
J. Paul Willis, 83 of Fort Smith passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2004 in Fort Smith. He was a retired nursing home administrator and owner of Westark Retirement home. He retired from the United States Army with the rank of Major after 25 years, he was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He also retired from real estate.
He received the Combat Infantry Badge, three Bronze Stars (Valor), five purple hearts, Army Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal, American Theater Ribbon, European Theater three battle stars, WWII victory medal, Army of Occupation Medal (Germany), National Defense Medal, Korean Theater three battle stars, and the United Nations medal.
He was also a Certified Fellow American College of Health Care Administrators, Charter President of the Arkansas Chapter, of the American College of Health Care Administrators (ACHCA), and the past regional Governor of ACHCA for Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma and Texas. He was a past foundation member of ACHCA, the long rang planning committee of ACHCA, and the building selection committee of ACHCA. He was a congressional delegate to the White House for the conference on Aging. A 1980 advisory board member, for project compassion, a member of the Fort Chaffee retiree council. He was past President of family service and traveller's aid, and the Fort Smith rose society. He was a life member of Legion Post 31, the D.A.V., and the Military order of the Purple Heart. He was also a licensed broker for the Eddie Roberson Company.
Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 17, 2004 at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial at the U.S. National cemetery with full Military honors under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.

Katherine Hughes, 74 formerly of Mulberry, died Monday, December 13, 2004 in a local hospital. She was a homemaker and a member of First Assembly of God Church in Mulberry. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert.
Katherine is survived by, three daughters, Linda Center and Beverly Hughes both of Van Buren, Debbie Peters of Fort Smith; one son, Troy Hughes of Van Buren; one sister, Wanda Dunn of Mulberry; one brother, Howard Peters of Mulberry; eleven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
