Winona Porter
Winona M. Porter, 92, of Fort Smith, died February 17, 2005 in Fort Smith. She was a Homemaker and a member of the First Lutheran Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Earline Dahlem of Fort Smith, and Francie Ann Mann of Huntington, AR; one son, Sandy Porter of Fort Smith and one sister, Mildred Gillilan of Fort Smith; six grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Earl A. Porter.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, February 23rd 2005 in the First Lutheran Church of Fort Smith with burial to follow in the Oak cemetery all under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Scott & Mark Porter, Stuart & Dan Britting, Jason Patillo, and Bill Mann.
The family will greet friends at Edwards Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 6-8 PM.

Michael Lasiter
Michael David Lasiter, 52, of Sprio, OK died February 16, 2005 in Fort Smith, AR. He was a retired Clerk.
He is survived by his wife Deborah of the home, a daughter, Tabitha Nicole Lasiter of the home, a son, David Nicholas Lasiter of the home, his father, Othel Lasiter of Mulberry, AR and three brothers, Wayne and Dennis Lasiter both of Mulberry, AR and Bruce Lasiter of Fort Smith, AR. He was preceded in death by a son Jody Lasiter and his mother Patsy Lasiter.
There will be a family visitation in the Chapel of Edwards Funeral on Saturday, February 19th from 3-5 P.M. There will be no formal funeral service. Interment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park at a later date.
Services are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.

Clara Taylor
Clara B. Taylor, 96, of Glenford, Ohio, formerly of Central City, died February 16, 2005 in Newark, Ohio. She was the former original owner of the White Spot, and the Skiver Shoe Factory. She was a member of the Central Methodist Church and the Senior Citizens Bowling League of Fort Smith.
She is survived by one niece Clara Boggs of Glenford, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband Willard Willis Taylor.
Graveside Services will be Wednesday, February 23, 2005 in the U.S. National cemetery of Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.

Laura Bolin Caraccia
Laura Bolin Caraccia, 30, of Fort Smith, passed away Saturday, February 19, 2005 in Fort Smith. She was an accountant for Beall Barclay. She was a board member of the Community Rescue Mission, a 1992 graduate of Lavaca High School and a graduate of Arkansas State University. She loved the outdoors, riding horses and loved dogs. She was preceded in death by her father, Billy Bolin. Laura was loved by all of her family and friends and will be missed very much.
A Memorial service will be held 1:00 PM Sunday, March 6, 2005 in the West Room of the River Park Complex. The family will greet friends after the memorial service.
She is survived by her daughter, Ericka Scoggins of the home; son, Peter "Seth" Caraccia of the home; mother, Billie Bolin of Lavaca; brother, Eric Bolin of Lavaca; nephew, Easton Bolin of Panama; maternal grandparents, Irma and Connie McAlvery of Eufala, OK; aunts and uncles, Arvel and Sue Bolin of Fort Smith; Mary and Walter Dyer of Fort Smith; Johnny and Helen Bolin of Fort Smith; Jimmy Bolin of Bokoshe, OK; Nathan Bolin of Lavaca; Misty Bolin of Fayetteville and Mike and Jeri Cox of Arkoma; numerous cousins as well as her close friends, Buffy Bonds, Janna Hunter and Amy Brewer.
Laura was a beloved mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. God bless you, for standing firm for your principles, and rising up against those who attempted to oppress you, regardless of the consequences. We all know the truth and find peace and comfort in your love, strengh, and unwaivering courage.We love you and know you will be with us, forever!

Charlicey Barton
Charlicey M. Barton, 84, of Fort Smith, died February 20, 2005 in Fort Smith. She was a Homemaker.
She is survived by her husband Gene Barton of the home, two daughters, Gloria Shannon and husband Jim of Fort Smith and Faye Villines and husband Richard of Van Buren, one son Gene Barton, Jr. and wife Beverly of Shreveport, LA; one sister Evelyn Doss of Stillwater, OK; twelve grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter Luana Pershall.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, February 23, 2005 at 10:00 am in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with a Graveside service at 2:00 PM in the Bethesda cemetery in Lincoln, AR all under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Van Buren, AR.

Reverend Orville Haley
Reverend Orville Haley, 82, of Van Buren, AR, died Tuesday, February 15, 2005 in a local hospital. He was a retired Baptist minister and served in the Army Air Force during World War II. After retirement, he became a short-term missionary for the Southern Baptist Convention, visiting some 30 countries, primarily in Asia and Africa.
Funeral will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 22, 2005 at the First Baptist Church in Van Buren with burial at the U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home.
He is survived by his wife, June of the home; one daughter Judy Riley of Fort Smith, AR; two sons, Allen Haley of Van Buren, AR and David Haley of Birmingham, AL; ten grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Mavin Hathaway, Leroy Alexander, Bill Davis, Larry Montgomery, Jack Webb, and Roger Bullington. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Mike Hurst Sunday school class at First Baptist Church in Van Buren.
Viewing will begin 8:00 A.M. Sunday, February 20, 2005. The family will visit with friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Monday, February 21, 2005 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home in Van Buren.

Carmelita Sicard Echols
Carmelita Sicard Echols, died February 19, 2005 in her home. She was born on January 20, 1906 in Fort Smith, AR to A.N. and Ella Sicard. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church of Fort Smith and a graduate of The College of New Rochelle, New Rochelle, New York.
She is survived by her son Mont S. Echols, Jr. and daughter in law Ann of Fort Smith, four grandchildren, Mont S. Echols, III, and wife Juli of New Orleans, LA; Elizabeth Echols of Columbia, MO; Katherine Ahrens and her husband Mark of Atlanta, GA, and Michael Echols of Fort Smith; eight great grandchildren, Courtney Echols, Ashley Echols, Mont S. Echols, IV, Thomas Echols, Molly Ahrens, Ella Ahrens, Claire Ahrens, and Lillie Ahrens and a sister in Mrs. McLoud Sicard.
Rosary will be said Monday evening at 7:00 PM in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel and Mass will be at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, February 22, 2005 in Christ the King Catholic Church. By family request, there will a Private Family Interment in Calvary cemetery following the Mass.
Pallbearers will be Allen Baker, William Buergler, William Eads, Birnie Harper, Daniel Roebuck, Sam M. Sicard, Douglas Smith, and Ewell Lee.
Memorials may be made to the United Way 320 South 18th Fort Smith, AR 72901 or Christ the King Catholic Church 1920 South Greenwood Fort Smith, AR 72901 or the Charity of ones choice.

William Barbry Jr.
Reverend William H. Barbry, Jr., 81, of Garland, TX., died February 21, 2005. He was born August 29, 1923, in Lexington, N.C. and served in the U.S. Army in World War II, and was a minister. He was the founding pastor of Druid Hills Baptist Church (Now known as Heritage Baptist Church) in Fort Smith, AR and also served as an Evangelist. He was a member of the Lavon Drive Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife Lena Jo Barbry, one son Bill Barbry III, and wife Linda of Fort Smith; two daughters, Deborah Robbins and husband Larry of Broomfield, CO and Martha McClanahan and husband, Ronny of Pensacola, FL; six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, five stepchildren and eight step grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday in the Heritage Baptist Church in Fort Smith with Reverend Bill Clark officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak cemetery in Fort Smith.
The family will greet friends on Wednesday, February 23, from 5-7 PM at Edwards Funeral Home.

John William Post
John William Post, 83, of Fort Smith, Arkansas, died Monday, February 21, 2005, at a local hospital. He was a retired Auto Mechanic from American Motors Company in Glendale, California. He was a Army Veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife Helen Margaret Post and a brother Lenn Post, Jr..
Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday, February 24, 2005, at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Woodlawn Memorial Park cemetery under the direction of Edward Funeral Home in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
He is survived by two sons John R. Post and his fiancée Susan Weindel of Fort Smith, Arkansas and Richard A. Post of Fort Smith, Arkansas, four sisters Martha Metz of Lavaca, Arkansas, Gloria Roberts and Rowena Robison of Fort Smith, Arkansas and Carol Lowery of Houston, Texas. He is also survived by several sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Vernon Knight, Bud Knight, Zack Robison, Robert Post, Don Mark Post and Frankie Post.
The family will visit with friends Wednesday evening, February 23, 2005, from 6:30 P.M. 8:00 P.M. at Edwards Funeral Home.

Roland Boreham, Jr.
Roland Stanford Boreham, Jr. was born on September 2, 1924 in Los Angeles, California to Roland Stanford Boreham and Anita Brown Boreham. He died on Sunday, February 5, 2006.
Rollie, who was also known as Bud, attended schools in California, graduating from Beverly Hills High School in 1941. After beginning undergraduate studies in physics at UCLA, he joined the Army Air Force receiving training as a meteorologist and served as a lieutenant in the Pacific.
After the war, he returned to UCLA and completed his undergraduate work and graduate studies in engineering. In 1947, he opened his own company, The R.S. Boreham, Jr. Company, to represent several lines of industrial products. Among the lines was Baldor Electric Company. Rollie recognized the quality of the company, and Baldor recognized his enthusiasm and competitive nature, prompting Baldor to ask Rollie to join the then small company as sales manager. The company grew under his leadership to become the industry leader in industrial electric motors. His tenure with Baldor lasted more than four decades, and he retired as Chairman of the Board.
He is survived by his wife Judy Boreham of Fort Smith, AR, Debra Boreham Vicharelli and her husband Pablo of Carlisle, MA, and Kate Boreham Maurras and her husband Hugh of Fort Smith, Arkansas, the daughters of Rollie and Sally McSpadden Boreham.
Other survivors include brothers Jim Boreham and his wife Helen of La Canada, CA and Howard Boreham and his wife Helen of Dana Point, CA. Grandchildren include Amanda, Chris and Steven Vicharelli, Armonde and Roland Stanford (Ford) Maurras, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by Judy?s children Bill Alexander and Richard Alexander and his wife Maria, and their children Rachel, Renae and Annie.
Rollie also served as a Director for Baldor Electric Company and USA Truck. In 2002, Rollie was inducted into the Arkansas Business Hall of Fame.
Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, February 9, 2006 at First Presbyterian Church in Fort Smith, AR. The body will be cremated under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home. A celebration of his life will be held after the services at Hardscrabble Country Club.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Engineering Scholarship Fund at the University of Arkansas Fort Smith 5210 Grand Avenue Fort Smith, Arkansas 72913-3649; First Presbyterian Church of Fort Smith 116 North 12th street, Fort Smith, Arkansas 72901; The United Way Foundation of Fort Smith 320 South 18th Street, Fort Smith, Arkansas 72901; and The University of the Ozarks 415 North College Ave, Clarksville, AR 72830.

Pedro Juan Martinez
Pedro Juan Martinez, 64, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, June 7, 2006 in Fort Smith. He was a glass blower for Southwestern Glass, and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 10, 2006 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with burial at Roselawn cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
He is survived by two daughter: Teresa Martinez of Fort Smith, Arkansas and Christina Martinez of Fort Smith, Arkansas; three sons: Juan Martinez and Pedro Martinez both of Fort Smith, Arkansas and Carlos Martinez of Tulsa, Oklahoma; one brother: Francisco Martinez of Fort Smith, Arkansas; thirteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Family will visit with friends Friday evening from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at Edwards Funeral Home .
