David Lenn King, 53, of Hector, died Monday, June 16, 2003 at his home.
A son of David Edward King of Hector and Vivian Laverne Walker of Hector, he was born Sept. 30, 1949, at Steele, Mo.
He was a pest control technician for Bud Avants, the “Bug Stomper” and for Delta Pest Control, and was a Untied States Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War.
In addition to his parents he is survived by a brother, Larry King of Spring City, Tenn.; two sisters, Shelley Feltner of Russellville; and Sheila McGee of Hector; and a niece and a number of nephews.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, June 18, at the Cedar Grove Assembly of God Church with Bud Avants officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove cemetery near Hector, by Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
Active pallbearers will be Bill Lawrence, Gene Farmer, Ricky Gentry, Brent Feltner, Steve Feltner and Randy McGee.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Dana Harris
Dana Mae Harris, 78, of Pottsville died Sunday, Feb. 4, 2001.
She was born April 10, 1922, on Crow Mountain and was the daughter of the late Clarence Monroe and Ethel Williams Jackson. She was a housewife.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Q. Harris; and a granddaughter, Shelley Harris.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Larry Harris and Danny and Kathy Harris, all of Pottsville; and five grandchildren, Scott Harris of Rogers, Amanda Johnson of Russellville, Matthew, Sara and Jessica Harris, all of Pottsville.
Funeral services were Feb. 6 at Pottsville Methodist Church with the Rev. Beth Turner, the Rev. Carrol Jackson, and the Rev. Thomas Morris officiating. Burial was at Pisgah cemetery by Lemley Funeral Service.
Pallbearers were Joe Maxwell, Kenneth Taylor, George Potts, Benny Docekal, Charley Jackson, and Adolph Vodrazka.
Darrell Duvall
Darrell Duvall, 56, of Russellville, died Friday, January 24, at Arkansas Heart Hospital, in Little Rock.
He was born March 6, 1946, near Russellville and was a son of the late Voyd Oren Duvall. He worked as a saw miller for the Nebo, Satterfield and Mansfield Limber Mills and was a custodian for the Pope County Court House. He attended the Booger Hollow Tabernacle and the Moreland Free Will Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Nettie Azille Proctor; five step-sons and four daughters-in-law, Thomas Wayne and Mona Duvall and Andrew Duvall of Pelsor, Edward and Julia Duvall and Ellis and Diane Duvall of Russellville, Scottie and Tanya Wilson of Chickasha, Okla.; two step-daughters and son-in-law, Jo Ann and Matthew Gullett of Atkins and Brenda Frizzell of Chickasha; his mother, Goldie Hodge Duvall of Russellville; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Harrell and Kay Duvall, Lloyd and Jo Ann, and Floyd and Earlene Duvall, all of Russellville; two sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Nancy and Junior Cook of Dardanelle and Marilyn and Daryl Pritchard of Dover; and fifteen grandchildren.
Funeral services were Monday, Jan. 27, at Shinn Chapel with Rev. Mary Ledford, Rev. J.W. Heflin and Rev. Leroy Farnam officiating. Burial was in Shiloh cemetery by Shinn Funeral Service.
Pallbearers were Rodney Martin, Lloyd Allen, David, Paul, Douglas and Thomas Wayne Duvall, Jerry Chronister and Kent Davis. Honorary pallbearers were Gerald Ledford, William Wilson, Henry Clark, Nikius Bear, Bill Vincent and Kenneth Allen.
Marvin "Al" Bewley
Marvin "Al" Bewley, 53, of Dover, died Monday, June 25, 2001 at his residence in Dover.
He was born on August 25, 1947 at Four Corners, Ariz., to Marvin and Myrtle Bewley. He married
Jeanette on August 25, 1964 at Bloomfield, Mo. He was a supervisor with ConAgra for 32 years.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Bewley; a son, Edward Allen Bewley of Dover; three daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy and James Deuerling and Toni and J.J. Johnson all of Dover, and Melissa and Ern Dale of London; 10 grandchildren, Lucas Allen Bewley of Pottsville, Ashley and Amanda Johnson, Jamie Deurling, Courtney Freeman, and Nathan Johnson all of Dover, Levi, Caleb, Ben and Becca Dale all of London; two brothers, Butch Bewley of Redding, Calif. And John Bewley of Dardanelle; three sisters, Margaret Archer of Redding, Calif, Jeanette Montero of Pottsville, and Sheila Mealer of Paragould; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, June 28 at the Humphrey Chapel officiated by Rev. Jeff Paxton and Curtis Sawyer. Burial will be at the Shiloh cemetery at Atkins under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Active pallbearers will be Doy England, Chris Tinnell, Bill Burdine, Rick Watson, Jeff Petty, and Billy Walters. Honorary pallbearers will be Jesse Minnie, and Larry Wilbanks.

Alta Patton
Alta Patton, 87, of Russellville and formerly of Dover, died Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2003, at Russellville Nursing Center.
Born July 22, 1915, in Searcy County near Marshall to G.B. and Minnie Williams Turney. She married
the late Thomas Odell Patton on Nov. 17, 1935 at Gravel Hill, Ark.
She was preceded in death by a son, Randall Patton, four brothers, Blaine Turney, John Turney, Hulen Turney and Neal Turney and a step-sister, Minnie Byrum. She was a member of the Scottsville Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include a son, Rev. Jerry Patton of Dover; two daughters, Wilma McGee of Dover and Martha Loveless of Russellville; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ethel Newell of Atkins and Bonnie Wade of Russellville.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 18, at the First Assembly of God Church at Dover officiated by Rev. Charles Kenneth Bull. John Gillespie
John J. Gillespie, 75, a resident of Rio Rancho, N. M., died Sunday (May 11, 1997) at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center at Russellville.
He was born on August 30, 1921, at Atkins to Anthony and Mary (Heigel) Gillespie. He was a retired Cartographer with the Civil Service Chart Plant at St. Louis, Mo. Mr. Gillespie was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy (Beuckman) Gillespie and his parents and one brother, Thomas Gillespie. He was an Army Air Corps Veteran of World War Two and was a member of the St. Thomas Acquinas Catholic Church at Rio Rancho.
Survivors include a daughter, Maureen Gardner, of Rio Rancho, N.M.; two brothers, Pat Gillespie of Salem, Ore., and Rev. Victor Gillespie, OSB, of Clarksville; three sisters, Sabina Mae Ehemann and Anna Marie Gillespie of Atkins and Sister Sabina Gillespie, OSB, of Columbia, Mo., and one grandson, Justin Gardner, of Rio Rancho, N. M.
A memorial service will be Monday, May 19, 1997, at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of the Assumption at Atkins, officiated by Rev. Victor Gillespie, OSB. The body was cremated. Arrangements are under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service.
James Gray
James Howard Gray, 72, of Ashbro, N.C., son of the late Lewis Luke Gray and Carrie Harris, died April 20, 1997, in North Carolina.
Survivors include a son, James Howard Gray, Jr., and a daughter, Linda, both of North Carolina.
He had a number of cousins living in the Atkins and Dardanelle area.
Funeral and burial were in Randolph Memorial Park in Ashbro, N. C.
Burford J. Haney
Burford J. Haney, 52, of Ola, died Monday (May 6, 1997) at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville.
He was born Dec. 29, 1944 in Dardanelle to the late Cletus and Littie Stinnett Haney; was a dump operator for 20 years with Wayne Poultry and a member of New Beginnings Church in Ola.
Survivors include his wife, Janet Crone Haney; two sons, Buford W. Haney and Hank R. Haney, both of Ola; three daughters, Karen Earls and Sharon Haney, both of Ola and Mary Lou Lievsay of Russellville; two brothers, J. R. Haney of Ola and J. W. Haney of Louisiana, Tex., three sisters, Alice Haney of Ola, Vern Green of California and May Evans Barkin of Florida, and nine grandchildren.
Graveside funeral service was Thursday afternoon at the Haney cemetery by Ronnie Farmer under the direction of Cornwell Funeral Home of Dardanelle.
