Jack E. Romig, 78, of Dover, died at his home Tuesday, June 12, 2001.
A native of L.A. County, Calif., he was a member of Pleasant Grove Assembly of God Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents Leila and Perry Romig of Palmdale, Calif.
He is survived by his wife, Pat Romig, and six step-children, Deborah Bunker of Franklin, Maine, John Martin of Colorado Springs, Colo., Tom Little, of Denver, Colo., Becky Newell and Marie Bryson, both of Dover, and Danielle Dailey of Buford, Ga.
Cremation was under the direction of Cornwell Funeral Home of Dardanelle. Interment will be in Palmdale, Calif.
James Bradley "Brad" Russell
James Bradley "Brad" Russell, 52, of Dover, died Saturday, Jan. 27, 2001 at his home.
A son of the late Sam B. and Dean Bradley Russell, he was born Dec. 4, 1948 in Pine Bluff. He was an employee of Entergy and worked at Arkansas Nuclear One. He was a 1966 graduate of Stuttgart High School, a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, a member of the VFW and an avid fisherman.
He is survived by his wife, Teressa Goforth Russell and a sister, Millie D. Russell of Ocala, FL.
The body was cremated. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday at Shinn Chapel with the Rev. Harold O'Bryan officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the memorial service.

James Snyder
James William Snyder, 73, of Conway and a former resident of Atkins, died March 6, 2001, at the Arkansas Hospice Center in North Little Rock.
He was born Dec. 29, 1927, in Mayflower to John Fred and Thelma Ann Reel Snyder. As a repairman, he retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company after 35 years of service. He attended A & M College in Oklahoma and was an Army and Navy Veteran. He married
Wanda Jean Alewine Snyder 50 years ago. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Evelyn Jay.
Survivors include his wife of Conway; a daughter, Shirley Jackson of Arlington, Texas; two sons, Steve and Scott Snyder, both of Conway; a brother, Fred Snyder, Jr. of Sutter, Calif.; and four grandchildren.
Funeral was Saturday, March 10 at Roller-McNutt Chapel in Conway with the Rev. Jack Bloxom officiating. Interment was at Crestlawn Memorial Park. cemetery honors were by the State Honor Guard VFW Post 3543, Heber Springs and United States Army Honor Guard Team, Ft. Sills, Okla.
Pallbearers were telephone employees and friends, Joe Hoyt, Dale Love, Randy Weeks, J.W. Dykes, Doug Smith, and Cecil Pettus.
Gary Don Smith
Gary Don Smith, 57, of Atkins, died Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2000.
He was born Oct. 8, 1943, in Yell County, Ark., the son of the late Raymond and Ora Ballinger Smith. He was a retired plumber and attended Full Gospel Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Jana Dunlap of Little Rock; one step-son, Sonny Brown of Russellville; and one brother and sister-in-law, the Rev. Ray and Dorothy Smith of Atkins.
Funeral services were Friday, Nov. 24 at Lemley Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Bobby Branch officiating. There was a private burial.
Pallbearers will be Bill Branch, Eddie, Kenny, and Jason Smith.
Aubrey B. Sivils
Aubrey B. Sivils, 74, of Crossett, father of Jennifer Hall of Atkins, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, at his home.
He was retired from Georgia-Pacific Plywood, a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church.
Survivors also include his wife, Irene Myers Sivils; a son, Gary Sivils of Bastrop, La.; two other daughters, Iris Stark of Lake Village and Corliss McCain of Wilmot; two stepsons, Johnny and Carl Sammons of Crossett; a sister, Dorothy Goodson of Bonita, La.; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was Thursday, Nov. 11, at Jones Funeral Home at Hamburg by the Rev. Randy Maxwell. Burial was in Pinewood cemetery.

Bobby Ray Sims
Bobby Ray Sims, 54, of Dover, died Thursday, April 26, 2001 at St. Vincent's Infirmary at Little Rock.
He was born on May 25, 1946 at Oneida, Ky., to Ernest and Pearl Hansel Sims. He married
Brenda Deloris Willingham on July 31, 1971 at East Bernstadt, Ky. He was a Real Estate Broker and a painting contractor. He attended Eastern Kentucky University. He was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam war, a Life member of the VFW, Disabled American Veterans, the American Legion and the National Rifle Association Golden Eagles.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Sims of Dover; one daughter, Allison Delora Sims of Dover; his mother, Pearl Hansel Sims of Russellville; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Boyd Dean Sims of Springfield, Mo. and Rick and Anne Sims of Deer; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Sharon and Len Lazzelle of Strafford, Mo., Janet and Chuck Marino of Springfield, Mo., Donna Tucker of Russellville and Lois and John Lamoureux of Dover; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 30, 2001 at the Humphrey Chapel officiated by Rev. Jeff Paxton and Rev. R.H. McCuin. Burial was at the McFadden cemetery at Dover under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service.
Active casket bearers were Steve Jackson, John Lamoureux, Bobby Dean Sims, Michael Lamoureux, Danny Sims and Tommy Tucker.
Ruby O. Sikes
Ruby O. Sikes, 88, a resident of Hector, died Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2000, at Tulsa, Okla.
She was born on Aug. 19, 1912, at Scottsville, Ark., to the late John Clark and Jennie Ross Goates. She married
the late Ralph Sikes on Sept. 7, 1933, at Price Grove, Ark.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, James, Walton and Carl Goates; and a sister, Angie Smith. She was a member of the Hector Free Will Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Jim Jones of Tulsa; one brother, D.L. Goates of Russellville; two sisters, Mildred Langley of Downey, Calif., and Eulean Brown of Hector; one granddaughter, Sara Jones of Tulsa; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Jan. 3, at 10 a.m. at the Hector Free Will Baptist Church and will be officiated by the Rev. Ellis McCuin. Burial will be at the Walnut Grove cemetery at Hector under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service. An Internet obituary may be found at Legacy.com.

Ora Short
Ora Lee Short, 87, of Morrilton died on Thursday, Feb. 1, 2001.
She was born in Cleveland on Feb. 6, 1913, to the late Charles Wesley and Bamey Stracner Brents. She worked for Morrilton Plastics as an assembly line worker until their shut down.
Survivors include her husband, James W. Short of Morrilton; two sons, John H. Short, and wife, Jessie of Atkins, William Wayne Short, and wife, Ellen, of Little Rock; two daughters, Ellen Wilson and Joyce Hillis, and husband, Mack, all of Houston; 21 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Feb. 5 at Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Gordon and Jo Warren officiating. Burial was at Pleasant Grove cemetery in Scotland.
Pallbearers were grandsons, Ken and Mike Cunningham, James Wells, Leonard S. Haws; great-grandson, David Watson; and granddaughter, Jami Ford.
