J.D. Teal

J.D. Teal, 87, of Dover died Friday, Aug. 11,2000, at his home.

He was born Aug.24,1912, at Dover to John and Elizabeth "Bessie" Braselton Teal. He was a cattle farmer.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Irene (Ross) Teal.

Survivors include two sons and daughter-in-law, Charles Ray "Buddy" and Pam Teal of Yuma, Ariz. and David Teal of Dover; two daughters and son-in-law, Glenna Jean Teal Crow of Yuma and Anna Sue Miller and Danny Teal of Yuma of Ariz.; 15 grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; one sister, Adelee McAlister of Dover; one half sister, Reba Bailey of Medford, Ore.

Funeral service was held Wednesday (today) at the Pleasant Grove Church of Christ officiated by Mr. Jerry Turner and assisted by Mr. Redmond Eubanks. Burial was at the Rushing cemetery at Dover under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service.

Shawn Thacker

Shawn Thacker, 24, of Ozark passed away June 7, 2000.

He was born Jan. 20, 1976, in Wynne, Ark., and was the son of Rev. Wayne and Judy Thacker. He was a graduate of Westark Community College in Fort Smith and was a student at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway. He was a cheerleader at both Westark College and UCA and was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Roseville, and a member of Chi Alpha Christian Fellowship. He was a former Youth Pastor for Sunnyside Assembly of God in Van Buren and was a fitness instructor at Conway Regional Fitness Center and Marvin Altman Fitness Center in Fort Smith.

Survivors include his parents; paternal grandparents, Daniel and Marie Thacker of Royal, Ark.; family, Wayne Allen and Debbie Thacker of Minden, La., Lyndle and Sabrina Thacker of Hatcliff, Ark., Rachelle and Brian Mize of Searcy, Ricky Thacker of Conway, Rebekah and Michael Abel of Morrilton and Jonathan Thacker of Ozark, and nine nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were Saturday, June 10 at the Roseville Assembly of God Church with burial at Tate cemetery by Griffin Leggett-Conway Funeral Home.

Orville Thomas

Orville M. Thomas, 93, of Appleton died Thursday, June 1, 2000, at his home. He was born Feb. 7, 1907, in Conway County and was the son of Ellet M. and Leah Reynolds Thomas.

He was a retired farmer and a member of Cedar Creek Church of Christ and the American Legion. He was a veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by one son, Ronald Thomas.

Survivors include two sons, Richard Thomas of Appleton and Larry Thomas of Dallas, Tex.; two daughters, Norma Haulmark of Old Hickory, Ark., and Linda Utley of Powderly, Tex.; two brothers, Joe Thomas of Jerusalem, Ark., and Benton Thomas of Jerusalem, Tex.; four grandchildren, Jason M. Thomas, Traver Thomas, Brandon Utley, and Aldon Utley; and one step-grandson, Robert D. Haulmark, Jr.

Funeral services were Monday at Lemley Funeral Chapel with Miles King officiating. Burial was at Cedar Creek cemetery under the direction of Lemley Funeral Service.

Pallbearers were Larry Thomas, Brandon Utley, Aldon Utley, Durlan Utley, Ira Thomas, Jr., and Evern Lawless. Honorary pallbearers were Jason and Traver Thomas.

Clifton Trigg

Clifton Trigg, 70, a resident of Russellville, died Sunday, Jan. 7, 2001 at University of Arkansas Medical Center at Little Rock.

He was born on March 28, 1930 at Hector to the late Grover and Alta Bradford Trigg. He and De Lois Reed were married on Feb. 7, 1953 at Russellville.

Clifton was manager of Linkway Stores for 13 years before working at Con Agra as a Receiving Clerk where he retired after 28 years. After retirement Clifton and his wife opened and operated Razorback Video. He attended the Second Baptist Church of Russellville. He was preceded in death by his brother, Henry Trigg of North Little Rock.

He is survived by his wife, De Lois Reed Trigg; one son, Ronnie Trigg; one grandson, Christopher Trigg; two sisters and brothers-in-laws, all of Russellville, Juanita and Cecil Gray and Ina and Kenneth Mathis, of Houston, Texas; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Henry (Christine) Trigg of North Little Rock and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be today, Wednesday, Jan. 10, at 11 a.m. at the Humphrey Chapel officiated by Rev. David McLemore, and assisted by Rev. Thomas Morris. Burial will be at the Rest Haven Memorial Park in Russellville under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service.

Active pallbearers will be Dewayne Trigg, Vaughnon Freeman, Ronald Trigg, Jerry Trigg, Joe Becker, and Richard Yarnald.

Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Randeep Mann, Dr. Robert Young, Heartsill Bartlett, James Reaves, Robert Adams, David Garrett, John Larry Mosley, Al Wilkins and Dr. Richard Lovell.

Memorials may be made to the Multiple Myloma Inpatient Memorial Fund at UAMS, 4301 West Markham, Little Rock, Ark. 72205.

William Tumbleson

William Lee (Red) Tumbleson, 60, of Scott, Ark., died March 22, 2000.

He attended Grace Baptist Church and was a truck driver. He was preceded in death by a son, Carl Lee Tumbleson.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Tumbleson of Scott; a son and daughter-in-law, Leslie Lee and Susan Tumbleson of Scott; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and James Duvall of Atkins; two stepsons, Darren Cummings and his wife, Karen, of Scott, and Ronnie Brewer of North Little Rock; four stepdaughters, Jessie Lynn Hopkins of North Little Rock, Teresa Weaver of Jacksonville, Lisa Green of Cabot, and Vickie Jackson of Jacksonville; seventeen grandchildren, and one great- grandchild.

Funeral service was Saturday, March 25 at the Huson Funeral Home Chapel in North Little Rock.

Memorials maybe made to Grace Baptist Church of Scott.

Lucy O. Turney

Lucy O. Turney, 79, of Hector died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2001, at Legacy Lodge Nursing Center in Russellville.

A daughter of the late Homer and Mary Elizabeth Duvall, she was born Jan. 17, 1921, at Atkins. She was a member of the Cedar Grove Assembly of God Church at Hector.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Neal Turney; and a son, Jimmy Neal Turney.

Survivors include three sons and two daughters-in-law, James Willis and Wanda Turney of Jerusalem, David Franklin and Debbie Turney, and Mickey G. Turney, all of Hector; a daughter and son-in-law, Patsy Ann and Ira Freeman of Atkins; 11 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was Jan. 4 at Shinn Chapel with the Rev. Bob Caldwell and the Rev. Larry Don Smith officiating. Burial was at Walnut Grove cemetery near Hector by Shinn Funeral Service.

Active pallbearers were Billy Joe, Shawn, Travis and Brian Turney, Larry Higgs, and Michael Morris. Honorary pallbearers were Ronald Standridge, Robert Thacker, Jimmy T. Turney, Gene and Verlin Pruitt, and Randy Cook.

Memorials may be made to the Area Agency on Aging of West Central Arkansas Hospice, 103 W. Parkway, Suite 2A, Russellville, Ark., 72801.

Novella Underhill

Novella Curtis Underhill, 90, of Russellville died Thursday, July 27, at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center.

Born Nov. 10, 1909, at Hector, she was a daughter of James and Lucinda Vaughan Curtis and was a widow of Roy Underhill, and a member of First Assembly of God Church.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Earl Curtis, Elzie "Buddy" Curtis and Wesley Curtis, and three sisters, Clurna Curtis Ballinger, Thurma Curtis Horn and Beatrice Curtis.

Survivors include a brother, Marvin Curtis of Russellville; two sisters, Vea Curtis Whittington of Porterville, Calif., and Bernice Curtis Cox of Modesto, Calif., and several nephews and nieces.

Funeral was Monday at Humphrey Chapel with the Rev. Jesse B. Rye officiating. Burial was at Forks of the Creek cemetery at Hector.

Memorials may be made to Forks of the Creek cemetery, c/o Evelyn Church, Jerusalem, Ark.
