Helen Gillette Overstreet of Little Rock died Thursday, Oct. 5, 2000.
She was born in Atkins to Roderick Gillette and Elizabeth Darr, whose father, John C. Darr, founded the town of Atkins. She was a member of the Pulaski Heights Presbyterian Church, where for many years she served on the Board of Women of the Church. She also served on the Presbyterian and Synodical Boards. She was a member of the Little Rock Departmental Club for over 50 years and a member of the Little Rock Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She attended Arkansas Tech University in Russellville.
She is survived by her daughter, Dr. Linda Kathryn Overstreet; and a sister, Kathryn Hawley of Omaha, Neb. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Overstreet.
A graveside service was held at the Plumerville cemetery Tuesday, and was officiated by the Rev. Von Dell Mooney of the Plumerville United Methodist Church. Memorials can be made to Pulaski Heights Presbyterian Church, 4401 Woodlawn, Little Rock, Ark. 72205. Arrangements were by Ruebel Funeral Home.
Tammy Marie (McCluskey) Overton
Tammy Marie (McCluskey) Overton, 40, Jacksonville died Easter Sunday, March 31, 2002 in Simi Valley, California.
She was born in Gardena, California on September 19, 1961, and was the daughter of Joel and Barbara (Curtis) Graham, Atkins, and “Sonny” James and Sheila McCluskey, Searcy, and the wife of Jay D. Overton, who survives. She was the niece of Jim and Judy (Curtis) Johnson of Atkins.
Other survivors include two sons, Army Specialist Ralph William Vancil, Ft. Story, VA, and Allen Earl Vancil, Jacksonville; a daughter, Kristian Marley Vancil, also of Jacksonville; two brothers, Rick Graham, Los Angeles, CA, and Joel Graham Jr., Foothill Ranch, CA; two sisters, Terri Reindl, Murrieta, CA, and Sharon Froedge, Tompkinsville, KY; one grandson, Sebastian Vancil, Ft. Story, VA.
Memorial services were held on April 6 in Los Angeles.
April Overturf
April L. Overturf, 38, of Pottsville died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2000.
She was born Dec. 7, 1961, in Des Moines, Iowa, and was the daughter of Robert Henderson and Margaret Melson Escobedo. She was a housewife and a member of the Pottsville Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include her husband, Dale Overturf; one son, Daniel Overturf; one daughter, Angel Overturf, all of Pottsville; four step-sons and two step-daughters-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Overturf of Salem, Ore., Allen Overturf and Rocky Overturf, both of Sweethome, Ore., and Mr. and Mrs. Mark Overturf of Albany, Ore.; mother and step-father, Margaret and Hector Escobedo of Monteca, Calif.; father, Robert Henderson of Oregon; three brothers, Robert Henderson of Michigan, Craig and Michael Henderson, both of Pottsville; and one sister, Melissa Overhalser of Oregon.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 5 at Pottsville Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Mike McNeely officiating. Burial will be at Pisgah cemetery by Lemley Funeral Service.
Pallbearers will be Harry Tucker, G.C. Tucker Jr., Phillip Murders, Tommy McCall, Sammy Reed, and Edwin Walker.
Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8:30 on Wednesday at Lemley Funeral Chapel.
Dave Owens
Dave Owens, 88, of Atkins, died Sunday, April 28, 2002.
He was born October 15, 1913, in Russellville, and was the son of the late Erin and Rosa Owens. He was a farmer.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Owens of Atkins; a step-son, Earl Huffstutlar of Atkins; one brother, Jesse Simmons of Hattieville; one sister, Ruby Martin of Hattieville; one grandson, Michael Huffstutlar of Atkins; and one great-grandson, Christyianna Huffstutlar of Denver, Co.
Graveside funeral services are Wednesday, May 1, 2002 at Shiloh Cemtery with the Rev. Elvis Clark. Burial is in Shiloh cemetery by Lemley Funeral Services.
Pallbearers are Donnie Ray Bruce, Danny Parish, Sam Conn, Donnie Harris, Travis Russell, and Willard T. Bruce.
Georgia Lee Bowden
Georgia Lee Bowden, 54, of Russellville, died Wednesday, August 22, 2001, at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Medical Center in Little Rock.
A daughter of the late Ralph Cleveland Titsworth, Sr., she was born December 27, 1946, in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Survivors include her husband, William Lee Bowden; five sons, Eddie Bowden of Pottsville, Mark Bowden of New Iberia, La., Mike Bowden and Donny Bowden, both of Russellville, and Scotty Bowden of Huntsville, Ala.; a daughter, Sandra Parrish of Russellville; her mother, Frances Titsworth of Russellville; two brothers, Ralph Titsworth, Jr. and Robbie Titsworth both of Russellville; five sisters, Debbie Hubbard, Toni Covey, Denise Foshee and Melanie Titsworth all of Russellville and Cheryl Mathis of Pottsville; and 14 grandchildren.
The body was cremated.
A memorial service was held on Tuesday, August 28, at the Shinn Chapel with Rev. Joe Titsworth and Rev. Chuck Roach officiating. Arrangements were by Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
Reba Wheeler
Reba Wheeler, 90, of Pottsville died Wednesday, May 10, at her home.
She was born Oct. 21, 1909, at Pottsville, was the daughter of the late George Houston and Birdie Maude Austin Robinson, widow of Frank L. Wheeler, and a member of the Extension Homemakers Club and Trinity Baptist Church. She was retired from ARVAC and was active in United Way.
Survivors include a son, Jim Wheeler of Pottsville; four daughters and sons-in-law, Louise and Lemoyn Tucker and Sue and Walter Roberts of Pottsville, Sylvia and Fred Carey of Des Moines, Iowa, and Jeraldean and Jerry Shinn of Murfeesboro; a brother and sister-in-law, G.B. and Janet Robinson of Pottsville; a sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Leon Packard of Black Canyon, Ariz.; two brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law, Howard and Mary Wheeler of Hot Springs and Rayburn Kendrick of Russellville; 17 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral service was Saturday at Pottsville Assembly of God and was officiated by the Rev. Sam Brown, the Rev. Phil Bozeman and Lu Hardin. Burial was in Pisgah cemetery by Shinn Funeral Service.
Pallbearers were Gale Robinson, Ray, Dale, George, Gary, Paul, Harold, Norman and Wesley Kendrick, and Hank, Robert, James, Scott and Mike Wheeler.

Richard Sneed
Richard Lewis Sneed, 51, of Atkins, died Monday, Dec. 4, 2000.
Born May 15, 1949, in Little Rock, the son of the late Leon Sneed, Sr. and Norma Sisk Sneed, he was a retired research engineer of the Arkansas Hwy. & Transportation Dept.
Survivors include one daughter, Beth Orahood of Lexington, Ky.; three brothers, Larry Sneed of El Dorado, Leon Sneed, Jr. of Little Rock, and William Sneed of Lexington, Ky.; one granddaughter, Cayla Orahood of Lexington, Ky.; and a companion, Grances Keysacher of Atkins.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m., Dec. 6. The graveside service will be at Pine Crest Memorial Park in Little Rock with the Rev. Kurt Boggan officiating.
Active pallbearers were Clay Orahood, Travis Reed, Justin Petty, Marty Reed, Marion Hogue, and Craig Sneed.
Honorary pallbearers were the Arkansas Highway Dept. employees.
Adaline Wetzel
Adaline Reed Wetzel, 86, of Russellville died Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2001, at her home.
A daughter of the late James T. and Bertha Turner Reed, she was born Aug. 24, 1914, at Russellville. She retired in 1982 as Pope County Librarian following 23 years of service. Prior to that time, she had served as Assistant Librarian at the University of Arkansas School of Medicine and also had taught for the Presbyterian Mission on Indian Reservations in Oklahoma, Arizona and Alaskan territories. She held bachelor's degrees from both the College of the Ozarks at Clarksville in Home Economics and the University of Oklahoma in Library Science.
She was a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, a member of Pope County Historical Society; the the Pope County Retired Teacher's Association, the Current Book Review Club, Book Lovers and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was also a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Women's Missionary League. She was the widow of Carl William Wetzel, Sr. and was preceded in death by four brothers, Hughey, Leon, Reece and Brooks Reed; and one sister, Florene Reed.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Carl and Suzie Wetzel of Dover; one granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Anna and Michael Grant of Russellville; three grandsons and a granddaughter-in-law, William and Becca Wetzel of Russellville and Cole and Les Wetzel, both of Dover; two great-grandchildren, Hannah Wetzel and Zane W. Grant.
Funeral service was March 2 at Shinn Chapel with the Rev. Darrell Kobs officiating. Burial was in Oakland cemetery by Shinn Funeral Service.
Active pallbearers were Will, Cole and Les Wetzel, Michael Grant, Kent Jacobs, David Dalrymple, Michael Lamoureux, and John Austin.
