Russell Caldwell

Russell Caldwell, 62, of Knoxville died Thursday, Oct. 29, 1998, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.

A native of Prairie Grove, he was a son of the late Marion Lee and Mary Savannah Lee Caldwell, a retired farmer, and served in the U. S. Army in Korea.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Glenda Bly Caldwell; three daughters, Martha Caldwell, Mary Caldwell, and Tanya Caldwell, all of the home; five sisters, Pansy Phillips, Juanita Ray and Esther Stanley, all of Madera, Calif., Inez Wyrch of Sanger, Calif., and Margaret Voles of Brainerd, Minn.; and two brothers, Donald Caldwell and Ernest Caldwell, both of Clarksville.

Funeral was at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 2, at the First Baptist Church in Knoxville with Rev. Ira Taylor officiating.

Burial was in Knoxville cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers were Dean Caldwell, Dale Caldwell, Duane Caldwell, Doyle Caldwell, David Caldwell, and Darrell Caldwell.

Honorary pallbearers were Tom Bly, Bill Bly, Bill Reams, and Kerry Nordin

Abner B. Dixon

Abner Brady Dixon, 86, of Clarksville died Friday, Nov. 6, at his home.

He was a member of Mount Olive United Methodist Church, American Legion for 54 years, and the Disabled American Veterans, son of the late J. B. and Rebecca Hodges Dixon, and a cattle farmer.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Lillie Garland Dixon; four nieces, Alice Gibbons of Ozark, Agnes Harris of Cedar Hill, Texas, Ellen McKenzie of Little Rock, and Anna Jo Lewis of Rogers; and four nephews, James Holben and Roy Holben, both of Clarksville, Efton Holben of California; and Glen Holben of Paris.

Funeral was at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 9, at the Mount Olive United Methodist Church with Rev. Mike Nease and Rev. Sam Howell officiating.

Burial was in Oakland cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers were Alvin Mason, Earl Mason, Larry Holben, Eugene McGuire, Mike Bean, and Terry Yancey.

Honorary pallbearers were Leroy Davis, Justin James, Travis Miller, Carl Morgan, Freddie Kauffeld, and James Duff.

Mrs. Harriet Carney

Mrs. Harriet Melvina (Mell) Carney, 90, of Huntsville, mother of Nola Mae Williams of Ozone, died Thursday, Nov. 5, 1998, at her home.

She was a native of Murray, former resident of Newton County, member of the Nail Christian Union Church, daughter of the late Flemon E. and Annie Self Watson, and widow of Rev. John Carney.

She is survived by five sons, Doyle Carney and Virl Carney, both of Nail, Mirl Carney of Kansas City, Kan., Delbert Carney of Russellville, and Limon Carney of Huntsville; two other daughters, Floy Willis of Kansas City, Kan., and Ruth Smith of Russellville; two brothers, George Watson of Shiloh and Lewis Watson of Springdale; six sisters, Ader Reynolds, Ida Willis, Mae Neal and Nola Edgmon, all of Springdale, and Nancy Sams and Leta Rylee, both of Shiloh; 39 grandchildren; 68 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel in Jasper with Ministers Ronnie Wiles and Loren Collins officiating. Burial was in Nail cemetery.

Grandsons served as pallbearers.

Mrs. Iva H. Russell

Mrs. Iva Helen Nunley Russell, 83, of Fruitland, Idaho, who was reared and educated in Clarksville, died Friday, Nov. 6, 1998, in Colorado Springs, Colo.

A native of Checotah, Okla., she was a daughter of the late Jefferson and Willie Adeline Carter Nunley, widow of Paul N. Russell, former resident of New Mexico and California, a former insurance salesperson, and was preceded in death by one daughter, Geneva Miekle.

She is survived by three sons, Joaquin Russell of Oregon, Irvin Russell of Arkansas, and Don Russell of Oklahoma; one daughter, Paulette Decker of California; and one sister, Allie Bridges of Texas, formerly of Clarksville.

Graveside services and burial were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, at Parkview cemetery in New Plymouth, Idaho, with Pastor Bill Sperry officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel in Fruitland, Idaho.

Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels or Alzheimer's, c/o Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, P. O. Box 730, Payette, Idaho 83661.

Mrs. Jewell Mills

Mrs. Jewell Mills, 87, of Clarksville died Monday, Nov. 9, 1998, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.

She was a native of Dublin in Logan County, daughter of the late Samuel Houston and Sarah Katheryn Pierce Walker, widow of Richard C. Mills, and member of the Landmark Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Alice and Bill Felkins and Cynthia English, all of Clarksville; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Robert and Louise Mills of Atkins and D. F. (Hoss) Mills of Clarksville; one sister, Ethel Eddins Whitby of Little Rock; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, at Landmark Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Vernon Bass and Rev. Thom Walker officiating.

Burial will be in Oakland cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Glenn Eddins, Orel Snow, Russell Snow, Bill Snow, Billy Charles Walker, and Carroll Rowbotham.

Mrs. Ruth L. Keesee

Mrs. Ruth L. Keesee, 80, of Scott died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 1998.

She was the widow of Amburs Keesee, a member of the Landmark Missionary Baptist Church of Rose City, and a resident of Benton for 36 years where she attended Sharon Missionary Baptist Church and was employed as a nurse at Benton Service Center for 17 years.

She is survived by one daughter, Elaine Keesee of Scott; three sons, A. R. (Sonny) Keesee of Oklahoma, R. W. (Buddy) Keesee of England, formerly of Clarksville, and William Patrick Keesee of Mississippi; 18 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Funeral was at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 6, in the Ashby Funeral Home Chapel in Benton with Rev. John Powers officiating. Burial was in Pinecrest Memorial Park.

Randy Wade Miller

Randy Wade Miller, 40, of Lamar died Friday, Nov. 6, 1998, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.

He was a member of Cabin Creek Baptist Church and a disabled water company employee.

He is survived by one son, Ian N. Miller of Las Vegas, Nev.; parents, Ray and Virginia Miller of Lamar; and one sister, Pamela Garland of Westminster, Calif.

Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 9, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Blair officiating. Burial was in Holman cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Buddy Smith, Armil Curran, Harry Tilley, Charles Brown, Terry Miller, and Don Davis.

Honorary pallbearer was George Zimmer Jr.
