Gwin Atkinson, 83, of Greenwood died Friday, Dec. 4, 1998, at Greenwood Nursing Home.
She was a member of 46th Street Church of Christ in Fort Smith.
She is survived by three sons, Leslie Lee Atkinson of Wilmington, N. C., Mark Eldon Atkinson of Greenwood, and Joe Barry Atkinson of Roland, Okla.; two sisters, Pauline Looper Larsen and Camilla Looper Lewis, both of Wichita, Kan.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial were at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8, at the Liberty cemetery at Greenwood under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home.
Rusty L. Talley
Rusty Leroy Talley, 15, died Monday, Dec. 7, 1998, at his home in Clarksville.
He was a student at Clarksville High School.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Edwina and Doug Hunter of Lamar; father and stepmother, Scott and Tammy Talley of Clarksville; one brother, Dusty Joe Talley of Lamar; one stepsister, Stephanie Holloman of Scranton; grandparents, Norma Jean Gentry of Clarksville, the late Leroy Miller, and Joe and Nila Talley of Camanche, Okla.; and step-grandparents, Glenn and Evelyn Hunter of Clarksville.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Allen officiating. Burial will be in the Holman cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Michael Wano, Gary Edward, Jeremy Hatchett, Matt Martin, Anthony Spiotto, and Matt McDonald.
Honorary pallbearer will be Jesse Apple.
William J. Smreker Sr.
William J. Smreker Sr., 67, of Washington, Mo., died Thursday, Nov. 19, 1998.
He was a former resident of Hartman and son of the late Henry J. and Mary E. Smreker of the Sacred Heart Community.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Velda Smreker; two sons, William J. Smreker II and Henry John Smreker; one daughter, Theresa Montgomery; three sisters, Cecelia Oberste, Henrietta Kapp and Betty Owens; two brothers, Robert J. Smreker and Charles E. Smreker; and five grandchildren, Tara, Jacob and Joseph Smreker and Jamie and Kristina Travis.
Funeral was Tueday, Nov. 24, in St. Louis, Mo., with interment in Jefferson Barracks National cemetery in St. Louis, Mo.
Mrs. Connie Roberson
Mrs. Connie Gean Roberson, 79, of Coal Hill died Monday, Dec. 7, 1998, at Medi-Homes in Fort Smith.
She was a Baptist, daughter of the late William and Dora Dollar Bramlett, and widow of Virgil Martin and Ode Roberson.
She is survived by three daughters, Patsy Broomfield of Fort Smith, Janice Bandy of Pocola, Okla., and Sharon Broomfield of Coal Hill; one son, Joe Bob Martin of Coal Hill; two brothers, Burl Bramlett of Heber Springs and Bob Bramlett of Sun City, Ariz.; 12 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 10, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Clifford Myers officiating. Burial will be in Coal Hill cemetery.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Arlis R. Greathouse
Arlis R. Greathouse, 56, of Clarksville died Sunday, Dec. 13, 1998, at his home.
He was a native of Big Run, W. Va., and had been employed at Clarksville Footwear the past nine years.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Linda Greathouse; three sons, Danial Greathouse and Artie Greathouse, both of Wierton, W. Va., and Tim Greathouse of Clarksville; one stepdaughter, Tami Link of Hot Springs; three grandchildren, Joshua Greathouse and Matt Greathouse, both of Lamar, and Ashley Greathouse of Wierton, W. Va.; and five step-grandchildren, Steve Tucker, Justin Tucker, and Andy Tucker, all of Ohio, Aaron May of Clarksville and Haley Link of Hot Springs.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16, at Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Vernon Bass officiating. Burial will be in Oakland cemetery.
Mrs. Audrey I. Warren
Mrs. Audrey Inez Warren, 73, of Ozone died Thursday, Dec. 10, 1998, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a Methodist.
Survivors include her husband, Bobbie L. Warren of Ozone; one daughter and son-in-law, Susanne and Lanny Bicio of Ozone; one son and daughter-in-law, Michael Lee and Barbara Warren of Ozone; one sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Ray Johnson of Texas; one brother and sister-in-law, Ed and Virginia Hall of Texas; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating. Burial was in Russell cemetery at Ozone.
Pallbearers were Louis Reece, Jerry Dean, Doug Carey, Bill Clark, Fred McCoy, Pat Brain, Jake Bailey, David Steel, and Lanny Bicio.
Earl B. Wise
Earl B. Wise, 92, of Clarksville died Friday, Dec. 11, 1998, at AMI St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville.
A native of Clarksville, he was a son of the late William Presley and Mary Mason Wise, and was preceded in death by his wife, Virgie Mae Bohannon Wise. He was a retired coal miner, a member of the Clarksville First Assembly of God Church and a deacon in the church for 27 years.
He is survived by three daughters, Earlene Lipsey of La Mirada, Calif., Karlene Hawkins of Russellville, and Denise Nichols of Lamar; one son, Lindell Wise of Clarksville; one sister, Jewel Taylor of Clarksville; 17 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 15, at the Clarksville First Assembly of God Church with Rev. Dade Kindrix and Rev. David Reddick officiating.
Burial was in Oakland cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers were Carl Williams, Levi Willis, Calvin Warren, Herb Phillips, Bob Fuller, and Wesley Kendrick.
Honorary pallbearers were Jerry Leavell, Earl Childers, and John Mefford.
He was born in Clarksville, a son of the late Herbert and Elizabeth Crowley, attended Clarksville Schools until his junior year in high school, was a 1949 graduate of Tulsa Central High School, served four years in the United States Air Force, and graduated from Oklahoma State University with a BSEE degree in 1958. His career was in aerospace working chiefly with radar and guidance systems.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Eloise Crowley; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and Rodney Wilson of Fort Collins, Colo., and Linda and Dale Dubbert of Albuquerque, N. M.; one sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Bill Lewis of Tulsa, Okla.; one brother and sister-in-law, Art and Shirley Blackard Crowley of Catoosa, Okla.; mother-in-law, Ethel Asfahl of Enid, Okla.; four grandchildren, Danny Wilson, Lauren Wilson, Brian Dubbert and Anna Dubbert; aunt, Gladys Ransom of Louisiana; two brothers-in-law and wives; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Friends are invited to join the family for a remembrance walk around Heller Park at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 20, according to information released by Butler-Stumpff Funeral Home of Tulsa, Okla.
