Mrs. Clara Marie Gill

Mrs. Clara Marie Gill, 84, of Hartman died Sunday, Jan. 24, 1999, at her home.
She was a daughter of the late Richard and Carrie Holmes and widow of Ernest W. Gill.
She is survived by two daughters, Penny Neff of Hartman and Barbara Sorg of Hoffman Estates, Ill.; one son, Ernest Gene Gill of Junction City, Kan.; ten grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 27, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating. Burial will be in Russell cemetery at Ozone.

Donald Shook

Funeral for Donald Shook, 67, of Broken Arrow, Okla., who died Jan. 23, 1999, in Tulsa, Okla., will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 27, at Limestone Baptist Church in Sand Springs, Okla., with Rev. James Gaylor officiating. Burial will be in Case cemetery near Clarksville. Arrangements are under the direction of Mark Griffith Memorial Funeral Home-Riverside Chapel in Sand Springs, Okla.
He was a 17-year member of Limestone Baptist Church, an engineer for Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railway, and an Airman First Class in the United States Air Force.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Jean Shook; one son, James Shook of Tulsa, Okla.; four daughters, Tammy Simpson and Jennifer Quinten, both of Tulsa, Okla., Tina Lester of Sand Springs, Okla., and Terri Shook of Glenpool, Okla.; three sisters, Dorothy McGhee of Jenks, Okla., and June Hurst and Dell Robinson, both of Tulsa, Okla.; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Herman M. Owens

Herman M. (Runt) Owens, 85, of Clarksville died Friday, Jan. 22, 1999, at Ozark Nursing Home.
He was a retired coal miner, a Pentecostal, son of the late Short and Alpha Vaught Owens, and was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Frankie Jones Owens.
He is survived by one daughter, Linda Sampley of Hartman; two sons, Ron Owens of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Scott Owens of Lamar; one sister, Olive Bullard of Hartman; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial were at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 25, at Oakland cemetery with Rev. Thomas Chenowith officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers were Derek Owens, Jason Owens, Shane Owens, Brett Sampley, Darren Masterson, Brandon Sampley, Josh Owens, and Trent Owens.
Honorary pallbearers were Blue Zeiler and Bill Dalton.

James Earl Lamb

Funeral for James Earl (Wimpy) Lamb, 74, of Wanette, Okla., who died Monday, Jan. 18, 1999, at Columbia Medical Center in Terrell, Texas, was at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel in Clarksville with Rev. J. Pat Shields officiating. Burial was in Hickey cemetery.
Pallbearers were David Brown, Steve Brown, Kerry Brown, Brian Brown, Allen Brown, Dale Brown, James Clyde Smith, and David D. Higby.
He was a truck driver, World War II Marine veteran, a Baptist, and son of the late Cecil and Beulah Brown Lamb.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Vonda Higby Lamb; one daughter, Marsha Shoemake of Oklahoma; two sons, Donald E. Lamb of Oklahoma and Richard L. Lamb of South Carolina; three grandsons, Devlin Ray Lamb, Allan Jay Lamb, and Zachary Tyler Lamb; and several nieces and nephews.

Mackinze C. Bridgman

Mackinze Christine Bridgman, infant daughter of Brandon Lee and Amber Marie Bridgman of Lamar, died Friday, Jan. 22, 1999, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
Other survivors include one brother, Nels David Tyson of Knoxville; and grandparents, Harold and Karen Bridgman of Lamar and Gilbert and Diana Tate of Clarksville.
Graveside services and burial were at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 25, at Holman cemetery with Rev. Bill Allen officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Mrs. Pearlie Young

Mrs. Pearlie Young, 88, of Clarksville died Saturday, Jan. 23, 1999, at Countryside Manor Nursing Home.
She was a Baptist, daughter of the late James Andrew and Nora Kimbrell Hughes, widow of Leo L. Young, and was preceded in death by one son, Paul Young.
She is survived by one daughter, Nora Phillips of Clarksville; four sons, Roy Young and Wayne Young, both of Lamar, Andrew Young of Russellville and Kenneth Young of Hagarville; 14 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. E. Fay Bennett officiating. Burial was in Fort Douglas cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Leo Young, Danny Young, Roy Young, Gregory Phillips, Kenneth Phillips, and Arnold Young.
Honorary pallbearers were Andy Young, Raymond Young, and Jerry Phillips.

Ules Casey

Ules Casey, 89, of Ozark died Saturday, Jan. 16, 1999, at Ozark Nursing Home.
He was a native of Johnson County, a retired automobile mechanic, and was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Jean Stanley Casey.
Survivors include one sister, Mrs. Jewell Turner of Houston, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services and burial were at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, at Highland cemetery with Rev. Ted Darling officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home.

David H. Bailey Jr.

David H. Bailey Jr., 72, of Clarksville died Tuesday, Jan. 26, 1999, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
He was a son of the late Dave and Bennie Manning Bailey, Navy veteran of World War II, member of the Clarksville First United Methodist Church, retired auto parts manager, and a retired member of the Clarksville Volunteer Fire Department where he served from 1950-71 and was chief from 1957-61.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Ruby Justice Bailey; two sons and daughters-in-law, Brian and Carolyn Bailey of Morrilton and Loy and Reba Bailey of Springdale; two sisters, Joyce Ann Dobbs and Norma Lee Warren, both of Clarksville; two grandsons, Hayden Bailey and wife, Olivia, of Morrilton and Mark Bailey of Springdale; two granddaughters, Jennifer Bailey of Morrilton and Brooke Bailey of Springdale; and one great-granddaughter, Abby Bailey of Morrilton.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 29, at the First United Methodist Church in Clarksville with Rev. Lowell Eaton officiating.
Burial was in Oakland cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers were Stewart Willey, Levon Stumbaugh, Tommy Ford, Jimmy Morris, Sammy Wish, Jimmy Dickerson, Harold Lewis, and Harold Johnson.
Honorary pallbearers were John Taylor, Frank C. Eichenberger, and Joe Martin.

Ervin Lee Mayfield

Ervin Lee Mayfield, 62, of Clarksville died Tuesday, Jan. 26, 1999, at Fort Smith.
He was a son of the late Troy and Nona Williams Mayfield and employed in sanitation at Tyson Foods for 13 years.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Ruby Balentine Mayfield; one daughter, Vicki Lynn Derrick of Clarksville; two sons, Ricky Lee Mayfield and Jeffrey Alan Mayfield, both of Clarksville; one sister, Barbara Amorin of Newman, Calif.; one brother, Granvel (Pop) Mayfield of Patterson, Calif.; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, at Union Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Gerald Morris and Rev. Burnett King officiating.
Burial was in Union Grove cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers were Eddie Domerese, Paul Williams, Mike Williams, Edsel Williams, Larry Williams, and Bob Mayfield.
Honorary pallbearers were Terry Williams, Jeff Dougan and Kent Cecil.
