Funeral for Marvin G. Felkins, 85, of Tulsa, Okla., was held on Saturday, Jan. 30, in Tulsa, Okla. Burial was at Floral Havens Memorial in Broken Arrow, Okla.
He was born near Clarksville, son of the late William Ernest and Laura Riddell Felkins, graduate of Clarksville High School, attended The College of the Ozarks, and had been a resident of Tulsa, Okla., since 1949. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Orville and Lee; one sister, Laurabelle Hughes; and one grandson, Alfred Abdo.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Lois Lorene Smith Felkins; one son, Marvin Felkins Jr. of Independence, Kan.; one daughter, Sue Abdo of Tulsa, Okla.; five grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
Mrs. Ruby C. White
Mrs. Ruby Clinton White, 76, of Clarksville died Friday, Feb. 19, 1999, at Paris Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was a native of Clarksville, daughter of the late George and Bessie Cheek Clinton, 1942 graduate of Clarksville High School, and a member of the Clarksville Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, Omar White; one son, Larry C. Prescott of Fayetteville; and one brother, Leon Clinton of Rogers.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 22, at the Clarksville Church of Christ with John Ballard officiating.
Burial was in Oakland cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were James Horn, Norman Sexton, Duane Steele, Jim Clark, Elvin Brown, and Flynn Kinman.
Stephen Wayne Bass
Stephen Wayne Bass, 49, of Lamar died Saturday, Feb. 20, 1999, in Clarksville.
He was born in Burbank, Calif.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Deborah L. Bass; one daughter, Charlene Stone of Dallas, Texas; one son, Travis Bass of Dallas, Texas; one stepdaughter, Tasha James of Lamar; three stepsons, David Harris of Clarksville and Joey Harris and Jamie Harris, both of Lamar; parents, Clinton and Patricia Bass of Arroyo Grande, Calif.; one sister, Julie Outune of Vermont; one brother, Chris Bass of Paso Robles, Calif.; and one grandchild.
The body was cremated.
Local arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Mrs. Shirley Upton
Mrs. Shirley Upton, 84, of Clarksville died Friday, Feb. 19, 1999, at her home.
She was a member of Woodland Baptist Church, native of Clarksville, daughter of the late Preston and Clara Ellen Pitts Hinson, and widow of Paul Upton.
She is survived by two sons, Jim Upton of Clarksville and Gary Upton of San Antonio, Texas; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 22, at Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sam Howell officiating. Burial was in Stillwell cemetery.
Pallbearers were Robby Upton, Cris Upton, Bruce Upton, Greg Buckner, Jeff Jones, and Tim Oakes.
Charles E. Hutson
Charles E. Hutson, 61, of Alix died Saturday, Feb. 27, 1999, in Johnson Regional Medical Center.
He was a native and former resident of Clarksville, son of the late Hickory Horace Hutson and former employee of Cargill Inc., at Ozark.
He is survived by two daughters, Sandy Perry and Becky Roberson, both of Alix; mother, Vera Key Hutson of Clarksville; two sisters, Wanda Dailey of Clarksville and Billie Ruth Standridge of Amarillo, Texas; and four grandchildren, Miranda Perry, Mackenzie Perry, Sherri Hutson and Bobby Hutson, all of Alix.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Monday, March 1, at Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Zeiler officiating. Burial was in Oakland cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jimmy Perry, Frank Reardon, George Dailey, Don Robert Hurst Jr., Rick Dailey, and Bill Ralph.
Courtney R. Vicks
Courtney RaeAnne Vicks, 16, of Clarksville died Monday, March 1, 1999.
She was a native of Forrest City.
Survivors include her parents, Sandra and Kevin White of Clarksville; two sisters, Keri White and Angel Vicks, both of Clarksville; one brother, Clint White of Clarksville; and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. H. B. White of Wynne and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Vicks of Forrest City.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 4, at Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Nease officiating. Burial will be in Stillwell cemetery.
Visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, at Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Mrs. Estelle Moore
Mrs. Estelle Moore, 87, of Huntington, mother of Arnold P. Moore of Coal Hill, died Tuesday, Feb. 23, 1999, in Ozark.
She was the widow of Earl Moore and a Pentecostal.
Other survivors include two daughters, Vera Lois Clopton of Waldron and Lovella Moore of Ozark; two sisters, Bertha Spencer of Marshall, Texas, and Arnee Addison of Amite, La.; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial were at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, at Huntington City cemetery under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood.
Mrs. Ella Nichols
Mrs. Ella Nichols, 66, of Clarksville died Thursday, Feb. 25, 1999, at her home.
She was a member of the Church of Christ and daughter of the late Wash and Rhoda Lampkins Workman.
She is survived by five daughters, Olita Stockton of Hunt, Linda Johnson and Nellie Johnson, both of Lamar, Bernetta Cooper of Ozark, and Gladys Pitts of Coseia; five sons, Steve Nichols and James Nichols, both of Alix, and Allen Nichols, Roger Nichols, and Douglas Nichols, all of Hunt; six sisters, Della Conover (twin) of Oklahoma, Opel Duckworth of Texas, Lois Shipley of California, Molly Manasco of Montana, and Ozella Rogers and Linney Block, both of Oklahoma; one brother, Buddy Workman of Oklahoma; 23 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 9 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Jerry Richardson officiating. Burial was in Arpelar cemetery in Arpelar, Okla.

George K. Painter
George K. Painter, 75, of Clarksville died Monday, March 1, 1999, at AMI St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville.
A native of East Brady, Pa., he was a son of the late George Edward and Catherine Zeitler Painter, graduate of Cornell University in Ithaca, N. Y., past elder and member of Clarksville First Presbyterian Church, former vice president of Edwin L. Wiegand-Emerson Electric Manufacturing Company, retired vice president and general manager of Greenville Tube Corporation in Clarksville, World War II Air Force veteran, recipient of the Air Medal and was a B-17 Air Force flying fortress pilot. He was preceded in death by one sister, Lydia Sheakley.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Jacqueline Painter; one daughter, Debbie Painter Ford of Jacksonville; two sons, George William Painter of Waukesha, Wis., and Gary Lewis Painter of Highland, Calif.; three sisters, Emma Rogers and Ruth King, both of Sharon, Pa., and Louise Miller of East Brady, Pa.; and five grandchildren, Brian Painter and Christopher Painter, both of Wisconsin, Brandon Painter and Rachelle Painter, both of California, and Lauren Ford of Jacksonville.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 4, at the First Presbyterian Church in Clarksville with Rev. Lance Jones officiating. The body was cremated. Local arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
