Mrs. Jean Halstead
Mrs. Jean Camillia Miller Halstead, 72, of Scranton died Thursday, June 10, 1999, in Little Rock.
She was a daughter of the late Fredrick and Minnie Miller and widow of Raymond Halstead.
She is survived by two daughters, Jane M. Stang and Jean I. Sulls, both of Clover, S. C.; two sons, James F. Duke of Las Vegas, Nev., and John W. Duke of Bogata, Texas; one stepson, Jerry R. Halstead of Wisconsin; one sister, Marion Buczko of Chicago, Ill.; 16 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial were at 4 p.m. Saturday, June 12, at Ware Chapel cemetery at Scranton with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Mike Eckstein, Tom Stang, Troy Rowe, Jason Rowe, Joshua Stang, Brian Stang, Chuck Halstead, and Mark Cavanaugh.
Katelin VanDenBerg
Katelin Marie VanDenBerg, 5, of Altus died Wednesday, June 9, 1999, in Little Rock.
She was a student at Franklin County Learning Center.
Survivors include her parents, Ronnie VanDenBerg and Christi O'Neal of Altus; one sister, Kristyn O'Neal of the home; maternal grandparents, Larry and Shirley O'Neal of Charleston and the late Margaret O'Neal; paternal grandparents, Mary and Harold Boren of Altus and Ronnie and Chris Grigsby of Subiaco; paternal great-grandparents, Alice VanDenBerg of Altus and the late Robert VanDenBerg; and nine aunts and uncles.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 12, at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel in Ozark with burial in Liberty cemetery at Altus.
Pallbearers were Virgil Kessler, Mike Miner, John Jones, Todd Phillips, Fred Owens and David Timmerman.

Mrs. Martha Lou Bly
Mrs. Martha Lou Bly, 72, of Oakley, Calif., died Wednesday, June 9, 1999, in Oakley, Calif.
She was a former resident of Clarksville, daughter of the late Leo and Norma Casey Young, co-owner of Bly's Produce since 1964, a member of the Lighthouse Christian Center in Pittsburg, Calif., and was preceded in death by three brothers, Bill Young, Bob Young, and Paul Young.
Survivors include her husband, Robert A. Bly; three daughters, Sharon Reams of Russellville, Sandra Engler of Concord, Calif., and Glenda Caldwell of Knoxville; two sisters, Grace Warren of Colorado and Nora Phillips of Clarksville; four brothers, Andrew Lee Young of Russellville, Kenneth Young of Hagarville, and Wayne Young and Roy Young, both of Lamar; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Monday, June 14, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating. Burial was in Pollard cemetery at Dover.
Pallbearers were Eddie Shaffer, Shane Beard, Aaron Beard, Danny Young, Leo Young, and Bill Reams.
Mrs. Ruby Jean Holman
Mrs. Ruby Jean Holman, 54, of North Bend died Saturday, June 12, 1999, at her home.
She was a native of Lamar and daughter of the late Lloyd Curtis and Edna Inez Childers Fetters.
Survivors include her husband, Lloyd Holman; one daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Ron Ross of Coquille, Ore.; three sons and daughters-in-law, Tony and Mary Holman of North Bend, Terry and Candy Holman of Philomath, Ore., and Eric and Michelle Holman of Coos Bay, Ore.; five brothers, Laudell, Curtis, Steve, and Joe Fetters, all of Clarksville, and Earl Fetters of Lamar; six sisters, Mary Woodard, Linda Hutchins, Faye Smith and Brenda Gilbert, all of Clarksville, Arnetta Scruggs of Hernandu, Miss., and Cathy Denn of Port Orford, Ore.; five grandchildren, Tim and Tracye Martin, and Shawn, Dillon and Justin Holman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services and burial were at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 15, at Myrtle Crest Memorial Gardens in Coquille, Ore., with Rev. George Daggett officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Myrtle Grove Funeral Service.
Cecil Holman
Cecil Holman, 72, of Sikeston, Mo., died Saturday, June 12, 1999, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
A native of Johnson County, he was a son of the late Pierce and Elizabeth King Holman, a self-employed building contractor, U. S. Navy World War II veteran, past commander of Henry Meldrum American Legion Post 114, member of the Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, SEMO Shrine Club and Order of the Eastern Star No. 137.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Lenna Vee Mitchell Holman; two sons, Clint Holman of Sikeston, Mo., and Mike Holman of Lebanon, Tenn.; two daughters, Ann Burns of Sikeston, Mo., and Pat Orosz of Nashville, Tenn.; two brothers, Donald Holman of Dallas, Texas, and Morris Holman of Mesquite, Texas; two sisters, Juanita Cole and Ruth Sims of Clarksville; and four grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, June 14, at Ponder Funeral Home with Pat Hogan officiating. Masonic rites were conducted. Military graveside services and burial were at Garden of Memories cemetery.
Mrs. Elizabeth Gee
Mrs. Elizabeth Gee, 75, of Coal Hill died Tuesday, June 15, 1999, at Countryside Manor Nursing Home.
She was a native of Belfast, Northern Ireland, daughter of the late Alfred and Isabella Dunne Carr, widow of Richard Henry Gee, attended the Jehovah's Witnesses Kingdom Hall, and was preceded in death by two sons, Richard Henry Gee Jr. and Timothy Gee.
She is survived by three daughters, Cheryl Miller of Coal Hill, Elizabeth Fridley of Covington, Va., and Denise Martinez of Murrieta, Calif.; one son, Terry Gee of Las Vegas, Nev.; one sister, Eleanora Samway of Ireland; two brothers, Albert Carr and John Carr, both of Ireland; 21 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial were at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 19, at Oakland cemetery with Lee Lewis officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Mrs. Ethelene Johnson
Mrs. Ethelene Johnson, 90, of Clarksville died Wednesday, June 16, 1999, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a native of Clarksville, daughter of the late Jess and Mattie Minnie Martin, widow of Wesley Johnson, member of the Second Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by one daughter, Uldean Kirshberger.
Survivors include one daughter, Virdalene Chandler of Saucier, Miss.; one son-in-law, Carl Kirshberger of Clarksville; two sisters, Florence Medford of Slidell, La., and Leola Williams of Clarksville; four grandchildren, Carolyn Kirshberger of Clarksville, Michael Kirshberger of San Diego, Calif., Johnny Chandler of Georgia, and David Chandler of Mississippi; and nine great-grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial were at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 19, at Stillwell cemetery with Rev. Joe Craft officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Mrs. Faye S. Basham
Mrs. Faye Stuart Basham, 75, of Clarksville died Wednesday, June 16, 1999, at Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Okla.
She was a native of Knoxville, daughter of the late Grady and Eula Cleveland Stuart, widow of John David Basham, graduate of Lamar High School and the University of the Ozarks, received a master's degree from the University of Arkansas, and was a member of the University of the Ozarks Alumni Association, First Presbyterian Church and the Presbyterian Women's Association.
Survivors include three daughters, Suzanne Coots of Siloam Springs, Elizabeth Gooch of Sand Springs, Okla., and Sara Miller of Fort Smith; three sons, Stuart Basham of Piedmont, Okla., and Richard Basham and Carey Basham, both of Houston, Texas; two sisters, Rita Young of Clarksville and Jemi LaVasque of Jacksonville; ten grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Friday, June 18, at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. John Shell officiating.
Burial was in Oakland cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Todd Kraut, Aaron Basham, Jon LaVasque, David Basham, Henry Branch, and James LaVasque.

Mrs. Iva Jane Dickerson
Mrs. Iva Jane Dawson Dickerson, 91, of Mulberry died Tuesday, June 15, 1999, at Beverly Health and Rehab in Van Buren.
A native of Johnson County, she was a daughter of the late John Henry and Lavinne Prime Dawson, widow of Oddie Dickerson, and a member of the Church of the Nazarene.
She is survived by one daughter, Melba Hurd of Dyer; two sons, Charles and Johnnie Dickerson, both of Mulberry; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 17, at Centerpoint Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Hubert Staggs and Rev. Charles Christian officiating.
Burial was in New cemetery at Mulberry under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.
Active pallbearers were Jerry Dickerson, Joe Burnett, Freddie Davidson, Max Dodson, Dale Wagner and Johnny Henson.
Honorary pallbearers were Lonnie Nichols, Johnny Collett, Joe Benham and Doug Wilkins.
