Mrs. Mary Weatherton
Mrs. Mary M. Weatherton, 80, of Hartman died Tuesday, July 20, 1999, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a retired beautician, World War II Army veteran, member of the Clarksville Church of the Nazarene, daughter of the late H. O. and Mary M. Hennessey Slaughter, and was preceded in death by two sisters, Emma Horner and Beatrice Booten.
Survivors include her husband, Homer R. Weatherton; two daughters, Toni Morgan of Eureka, Calif., and Frances Arlene DeWitt of Yadkinville, N. C.; two sons, Karl Roby Weatherton of Cook, Minn., and Scott Fullerton of Yadkinville, N. C.; one sister, Leola Smart of Palestine, Texas; three brothers, Clay Benton Slaughter of Hughes Springs, Texas, H. O. Slaughter of San Antonio, Texas, and Bazil Slaughter of Apple Valley, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Friday, July 23, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rev. Glenn Newton officiating. Burial was in Ware Chapel cemetery at Scranton.
Pallbearers were Jack Heil, Bub Claunch, Harley Parker, Charles Goodin, Wayne Gregory, and Dane Mayes Jr.
Mrs. Nadine Farber
Mrs. Nadine Laveral (Granny Red) Farber died Saturday, July 24, 1999, at her home in Paris.
She was a cashier-clerk, Baptist, daughter of the late James and Edith Stubbs, and was preceded in death by three sons, Van Edward Haynes, Gene Albert Haynes, and Tracy Michael Proper.
Survivors include her husband, James F. Farber; five daughters, Jane L. Hall and Cecilia A. Richardson, both of Paris, Memory J. Furr of Scranton, Connie M. Hilton of Hot Springs and Penny S. Brown of Malvern; five sons, Douglas E. Haynes of Smithville, Matthew E. Haynes of Booneville, Roger Proper of Paris, and Jimmy Farber and Michael W. Farber, both of Malvern; three brothers, James Stubbs and Douglas Stubbs, both of Mooreland, Okla., and Billy Bazzle of Pleasant Plains; 18 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 4 p.m. Tuesday, July 27, at Roller Chapel in Paris with burial in Oakwood cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jimmy Farber, Mike Farber, Ryan Hilton, Brian Fletcher, Jeff Buchanan, William Farber, and Randy Richardson.
Richard F. Parker Sr.
Richard F. (Rick) Parker Sr., 79, of Paris died Thursday, July 22, 1999, in Fort Smith.
He was a son of the late A. W. and Sally Chloe Melton Parker, retired from the U. S. Air Force, farmer, and owner-operator of Scranton Boat Sales in Scranton.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Grace Gunn Parker; two daughters, Marilyn Robberson of Paris and Jacqueline Williams of Clarksville; two sons, Richard F. Parker Jr. of Van Buren and David W. Parker of Greenwood; three sisters, Lucille Allen and Sue Samuels, both of McKinney, Texas, and Dorothy Kimblin of Gordonville, Texas; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, July 31, at Roller Chapel in Paris. The body will be cremated.
Mrs. Annie C. Cline
Mrs. Annie Campbell Cline, 82, of Hunt died Sunday, Aug. 1, 1999, at Clarksville Convalescent Home.
She was a member of the Assembly of God Church, daughter of the late Henry and Rosie Lee Gilbert Campbell, widow of Willie Cline, and was preceded in death by two infant daughters, and one son, James Cline.
Survivors include one daughter, Evelyn Hardgrave of Hunt; two sisters, Lucy Sampley of Alix and Florence Edgar of Mulberry; two brothers, Jim Campbell of Hackett and Floyd Campbell of Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Janie Griffith of Coal Hill, Judy King of Springdale, Glen Hardgrave Jr. of Las Vegas, Nev., Billy Hardgrave of Fayetteville, and Rusty Hardgrave of Hunt; ten great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4, at Hunt Tabernacle Church with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating.
Burial will be in Porter cemetery at Hunt under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Jesse Campbell, Jimmy Campbell, Ronald Patterson, Johnny Little, Darril Hunt, and David Davidson.
Bob Lee Smith
Bob Lee Smith, 64, of Clarksville died Thursday, July 29, 1999, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
He was a truck driver, attended City Park Church of Christ, and was the son of the late George Edward and Ruby Ethel Stone Smith.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Elma Skidgel Smith; two daughters, Patricia Tice of Clarksville and Gloria Owens of Garland, Texas; one son, Jerry Thompson of Marion, Ind.; two sisters, Viola Gilmore of Greers Ferry and Louise Hull of Springdale; one brother, Richard Stark of Clarksville; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 31, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Harold Hull officiating. Burial was in Annie's Chapel cemetery.
Active pallbearers were David Towler, Doyle Boen, Michael Ragsdale, Donald Ragsdale Jr., Gary Ragsdale, and Dennis Ragsdale.
Honorary pallbearer was Bill Gilmore.
Darrell Edgar
Darrell Edgar, 70, of Alma died Saturday, July 24, 1999, at his home.
A native of Spadra, he was a son of the late Charlie and Nora Smith Edgar, and a retired farmer.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Florence Campbell Edgar; four daughters, Cathren Parker and Mary Heginger, both of Mountainburg, and Nora Severson and Betty Ferguson, both of Mulberry; six sons, Eugene Wiggins of Fort Smith, Darrell Wayne Edgar and Joe Edgar, both of Mulberry, Bobby Edgar of Mountainburg, Andy Edgar of Mt. Vernon, Ind., and James Edgar of Ozark; four sisters, Pat Brumley of Harrison, Emma Laura Mooney of Cathage, Miss., and Florence Chandler and Maude Clarke, both of Mulberry; three brothers, twin, Harold Edgar of Van Buren, Carl Edgar of Dyer, and Alonzo Edgar of Mulberry; 30 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 27, at Ocker Funeral Home Chapel in Alma with Rev. Claude Blount officiating.
Mrs. Elsa Ramsey Dew
Mrs. Elsa M. Ramsey Dew, 56, of Heber Springs, formerly of Lamar, died Sunday, Aug. 1, 1999, at her home.
A native of Henryetta, Okla., she was a daughter of the late Raymond Ramsey and Dalphene Villines Ramsey, an assistant director of Circle of Love Day Care in Heber Springs, and a member of Masters Ministries.
Survivors include her husband, Ernest Dew; one son, Ernest Gentry Dew of Conway; four daughters, Cathy Dew of Heber Springs, Ashley Sutton of Jonesboro, Stephanie Patterson of Bonham, Texas, and Amy Elizabeth Dew of Deerfield Beach, Fla.; two brothers, Ronnie Ramsey and Mike Ramsey, both of Clarksville; three sisters, Barbara Bly of Heber Springs, Shirley Hubenthal of Clarksville and Debbie Romine of Charlotte, N. C.; and six grandchildren, Cole Sutton, Matthew Patterson, Joshua Patterson, Hannah Patterson, Michah Dew, and Nathaniel Dew.
Funeral was at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 2, at the First Baptist Church in Heber Springs with Rev. Steve Patterson and Dr. Phil Brassfield officiating. Burial was in Cleburne County Memorial Gardens.
John Robert Stults
John Robert Stults, 64, of Lonoke died Wednesday, July 28, 1999, in Little Rock.
He was a native of Underwood, Wash., son of the late John M. Stults, Baptist, 32nd degree Mason, general manager of Continental Express Airlines in Little Rock and had served in the U. S. Air Force.
Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Shirley Belote Stults; two daughters and sons-in-law, Stacie and Mike Guess of Conway and Shirley and Gary Davis of Springdale; mother, Mrs. Retta Stults of Weatherford, Wash.; two sisters, Bertha Laws of Graford, Texas, and Neoma Branstetter of Weatherford, Texas; one brother, Fred Stults of Perin, Texas; and two grandchildren, Kaitlin and Jefferson Davis of Springdale.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 31, at Ridgeview Baptist Church in Fayetteville with Rev. Charlie Brown officiating.
Burial was in Buckner cemetery under the direction of Moore's Chapel of Fayetteville.
Mrs. Luella Massengale
Mrs. Luella Bailey Massengale, 82, of Harrison, formerly of Clarksville, died Thursday, July 29, 1999, at her home.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, Charlene Kelton.
Survivors include her husband, Arvin Massengale Sr. of Harrison; four sons, F. M. Massengale of Green Forest, Arvin Massengale Jr. of Hartman, Carroll Massengale of Cedarville, and Garrie Massengale of Searcy; three daughters, Wanda Cazort of St. Louis, Mo., Rita Vaught of Casper, Wyo., and Anna Jo Smith of Waldron; 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 31, at Holt Chapel in Harrison with burial at Alpena.
Grandsons served as pallbearers.
