John Francis Ellis

John Francis Ellis, 86, of Clarksville died Saturday, Sept. 25, 1999, at his home.
He was a native of Bristol, Pa., son of the late Francis and Catherine Lynch Ellis, a Mason, and attended Hays Chapel Methodist Church.
He is survived by one daughter, Susan Brandt of Clarksville; two sisters, Sarah Carter of Bristol, Pa., and Catherine Smoyer of Levittown, Pa.; one brother, William Ellis of Delaware; and four grandchildren, Virginia Brandt and Kay Brandt, both of Fayetteville, and Joe Brandt and Julie Brandt, both of Clarksville.
The body was cremated. Local arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

James Warren Kjormoe

James Warren Kjormoe, 45, of Cushing, Okla., died Saturday, Sept. 25, 1999, at his home.
He was a 1972 graduate of Clarksville High School.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Joni Kjormoe; one son, Michael James Kjormoe of Colorado; one daughter, Melissa Gail Kjormoe of Oklahoma City, Okla.; parents, Jim and Nozetta Kjormoe of Clarksville; one brother, John David Kjormoe of Tickfaw, La.; and one sister, Frances Eunice Hessee of Corpus Christi, Texas.
Funeral will be Wednesday, Sept. 29, in Cushing, Okla., under the direction of Palmer Funeral Home.

Joe Eddie Miller Sr.

Joe Eddie Miller Sr., 81, of Coal Hill died Friday, Sept. 24, 1999, at Ozark Nursing Home.
He was a retired miner and driller, member of the Coal Hill First Baptist Church, 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge, native of Bryant, Okla., and son of the late Ed and Josie Thomas Miller.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Doris Frye Miller; one son, Joe Eddie Miller Jr. of Flower Mound, Texas; one sister, Peggy Holmesley of Coal Hill; one granddaughter, Dawn Marie Van Aulen of Plantation, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services and burial were at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 27, at the Coal Hill cemetery with Rev. David Qualle officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.
Pallbearers were Otto Wall, Ben Yates, David Tedford, Paul Lee Walker, Ronnie Robertson, and Justin James.

Miss Joyce Jane Sirman

Miss Joyce Jane (Janie) Sirman, 48, of Clarksville died Sunday, Sept. 26, 1999, at her home.
She was a practical nurse, Methodist, and daughter of the late Tessie M. Sirman and Mary Margaret Counts Sirman.
Survivors include three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Sharon L. and Jerry W. Watson of Knoxville, Mary M. and Jack Hunt of Springfield, Mo., and Patricia A. O'Dell of Seymour, Mo.; six nephews and spouse, John and Pam Marion, Michael O'Dell, Tyler David Marion and Josua Lee Marion, all of Springfield, Mo., Robert Vestal of Kansas City, Mo., and Jeffery Watson of Seattle, Wash.; and one niece, Brandee Watson of Knoxville.
The body was cremated. Local arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the Area Agency on Aging Hospice, 103 West Park Drive, Russellville, AR 72801.

Kenneth H. Pearson

Kenneth H. Pearson, 83, of Lamar died Sunday, Sept. 26, 1999, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
He was a native of Hagarville, son of the late James M. and Edna Morrow Pearson, and a retired farmer.
He is survived by one sister, Maxine Pearson of Lamar; two nephews, Jack Pearson of Little Rock and James Pearson of Russellville; three nieces, Edna Fording of Oran, Mo., and Dorothy Young and Earla Springs, both of Sikeston, Mo.; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and four great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 29, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with John Ballard officiating. Burial will be in Hagarville cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jack Pearson, Ray Willis, James M. Childers, Alvin James, Robert Williams, Bobby Joe Wilkins, Norman Davis, and Harry Tilley.

Mrs. Pamela Hilton

Mrs. Pamela K. Hilton, 44, of Clarksville died Sunday, Sept. 26, 1999, at her home.
She was a member of the Catholic Church, daughter of the late Arthur Gerald and Cathron Dowis Miller, and a native of Covina, Calif.
Survivors include her husband, Mark Hilton; three sons, Troy Hood of Russellville, Todd Hood of Toledo, Ohio, and Toby Hood of Florida; and three grandchildren, Megan Nicole Hood of Atkins and Casey Marie Hood and Jason Blake Hood, both of Russellville.

Robert I. Pelts

Robert I. Pelts, 81, of Hunt died Thursday, Sept. 23, 1999, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
He was a native of Mt. Levi and son of the late Royal and Laura Hyder Pelts.
He is survived by two daughters, Mary Pelts of Clarksville and Linda Pelts of Fort Smith; two sisters, Dovie Tuck of Hunt and Lucy Apodoca of Cheyenne, Wyo.; and two brothers, Arlis Pelts of Hunt and Melvin Pelts of Colorado.
Graveside services and burial were at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 27, at Liberty Hill cemetery with Rev. Leonard Richards officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Mrs. Shirley Brannan

Mrs. Shirley Ann Brannan, 57, of West Fork, grandmother of Mark, Destiny and Jacob Long of Lamar, died Thursday, Sept. 16, 1999, at Mountainburg.
She was born in Compton, Calif., to Eugene and Willie Belle Horton Harderson.
Survivors include her husband, Max Brannan; three sons, Rick Long of Fayetteville, Mark Long of Amarillo, Texas, and Timothy Long of Fayetteville; one daughter, Deborah Gill of Mountainburg; two brothers, Bob Coker and Richard Harderson, both of West Fork; ten other grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial were at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 20, at the West Fork cemetery.

Mrs. Wilma Armstrong

Mrs. Wilma Fae Armstrong, 71, of Ventura, Calif., died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 1999, at her home.
A native of Coal Hill, she was a daughter of the late Harvey O. and Mary B. Hardgrave, widow of Edward Scott Armstrong, an employee of Broadway Department Store in Ventura, Calif., for several years and was the assistant to the personnel officer at the Naval Construction Battalion Center, Civil Personnel Office, in Port Hueneme prior to retirement in 1990. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Ventura, Calif., a volunteer in numerous church, school, and community activities, was active in aerobics classes for 15-plus years and was a former member of the Ventura Adult Education aerobics program. She was preceded in death by one son, Jerry Scott Armstrong.
She is survived by one daughter, Sandra Armstrong of Ventura, Calif.; one son and two daughters-in-law, James and Keira Armstrong and Denise Capritto, all of Ventura, Calif.; one sister and brother-in-law, Dane and Eloise Hartlein of Watsonville, Calif.; two granddaughters, Jeri Armstrong of Ventura, Calif., and Cara Johnson of Auburn, Calif.; one grandson, Cory Norris of Grass Valley, Calif.; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, at the First Christian Church.
Memorials may be made to Hospice, Livingston Visiting Nurse Association, 1996 Eastman Avenue, Ventura, CA 93001.

William R. Faldon

William R. Faldon, 85, of Van Buren, father of Teresa Fine of Clarksville, died Saturday, Sept. 25, 1999.
He was retired owner and operator of Faldon Electric Company, U. S. Army veteran of World War II having served in the invasion of Normandy at Omaha Beach and also fought in the Battle of the Bulge, member of VFW Post No. 2036 and the Woodsmen of the World, and a former volunteer for the Sebastian County Sheriff's Mounted Patrol.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Zettie Mae Faldon; one other daughter, Terry Faldon-Gamarra of Miami, Fla.; two sisters, Myrtle Bloom of Chicago, Ill., and Leona Syrock of Van Buren; and four grandchildren, Jacqueline Gamarra of Miami, Fla., and Michael Fine, Meghan Fine, and Christopher Fine, all of Clarksville.
Funeral was at noon Tuesday, Sept. 28, at Putman Funeral Home Chapel with burial and military honors at the U. S. National cemetery in Fort Smith.
Active pallbearers were nephews, Don Faldon, Dwight Faldon, George Faldon, Marvin Faldon, Ralph Faldon, and Jimmy Eoff.
Honorary pallbearers were members of the 335th Infantry Division, Company H 1943-46, U. S. Army.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, P. O. Box 1274, Fort Smith, AR 72902 or Concord Baptist Church Building Fund, 6105 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR 72956.
