Mrs. Lois Shoeffler
Mrs. Lois C. Shoeffler, 88, of Hartman died Saturday, Oct. 23, 1999, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a native of Oklahoma, daughter of the late Newt and Ruth Tipton Adams, widow of Lawrence Shoeffler, and member of the Fernwood Assembly of God Church.
She is survived by one nephew, Ralph Adams of Hartman; two great-nieces, Debbie Taylor of Albertville, Ala., and Treon Lasiter of Russellville; and several cousins.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 26, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with Elder Harold Stumbaugh and Gene Yeager officiating. Burial was in the Hartman cemetery.
Pallbearers were Norman Weatherton, Alan Walker, John Burke, Jackie Roberts, Dean Yeager, and James Hays.
Mrs. Mary Richardson
Mrs. Mary Ellen Richardson, 95, of Lamar died Friday, Oct. 22, 1999, at Countryside Manor Nursing Home.
She was a daughter of the late Jim and Melvina Tucker, widow of Sanford Dewey Richardson, member of the Assembly of God Church, and was preceded in death by one daughter, Wanda Mack, four brothers, James Richardson, Glen Richardson, Dwight Richardson, and Andy Joe Richardson, and one grandchild, Sandy Richardson.
She is survived by two daughters, Mildred McCastlin of St. Charles, Mo., and Barbara Stonebarger of Dover; one son, Sedric M. Richardson of Lamar; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 26, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rev. W. A. Berg officiating. Burial was in Lamar cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jay Westley Richardson, David McCastlin, Glen Richardson, Dwight Richardson, Steve Richardson, Sedric Lynn Walker, Brian Dale Walker, and Ralph Kelly Karnes.
Mike G. Wilson
Mike G. Wilson, 54, of Fort Smith, died Friday, Oct. 22, 1999, at his home.
He was a retired employee of Riverside Furniture, member of Central Presbyterian Church, former secretary-treasurer of the Fort Smith Quarterback Club, and former president of the Westark Century Club.
Among the survivors are his widow, Mrs. Linda Wilson; one daughter, Adrienne Hickey of Fayetteville and her husband, Jody, who is a former resident of Johnson County; one son, Russ and his wife, Mary, of Memphis, Tenn.; one granddaughter, Madeline Hickey; one grandson, Cody Wilson; mother, Christine Holt of Metairie, La.; one sister; and one brother.
Graveside services and burial were at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 25, at the Oak cemetery pavilion with a memorial service immediately following at Central Presbyterian Church in Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Arkansas Children's Hospital, 800 Marshall Street, Little Rock, AR 72202 on behalf of Mike Wilson in honor of Madeline Hickey.
Oliver (Ed) Risk Jr.
Oliver (Ed) Risk Jr., 79, of Clarksville died Sunday, Oct. 24, 1999, at his home.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II, a Catholic, member of the Knights of Columbus, Toast Master International and Farmington, Mich., Players Guild, retired from Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, Mich., son of the late Jane Dowdell and Oliver E. Risk Sr., and was preceded in death by two sons.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Hazel L. Johnson Risk; one daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Jim Ragland of Farmington Hills, Mich.; three sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Bobette Risk of Fayetteville, John and Annie Risk of Penngrove, Calif., and James and Andrea Risk of Farmington Hills, Mich.; one sister, Shirley Moore of Dearborn, Mich.; one brother, Arthur Risk of Sun City, Ariz.; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Rosary was at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 26, at Roller-Cox Chapel. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church with Father William Wewers officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Airy cemetery.

Winford Huckaby
Winford Huckaby, 84, of Paris died Monday, Nov. 8, 1999, in Fort Smith.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church, a retired coal miner and Well's Furniture Store employee, and was preceded in death by one grandson and one great-grandson.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Agnes Thorton Huckaby; three daughters, Beverly Johnson of Fort Smith, Shelby Holzman of Ozark, and Pat Gleghorn of Henderson; one sister, Ruth Street of Paris; eight grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 10, at Roller Funeral Home in Paris with burial in McVay cemetery at Paris.
Pallbearers will be Gary Johnson, Steve Johnson, James Gleghorn, Brian Holzman, Jacque Morris, and Daniel Gleghorn.
Violet Patrick
Violet Patrick, 73, of West Fork, brother of Addie Burnett of Oark, died Saturday, Nov. 6, 1999, at the Fayetteville Nursing Center.
He was a native of Friley, son of the late Frank and Ellen Hoskins Patrick, farmer, Army veteran of World War II, attended Living Faith Pentecostal Church of God in Fayetteville, member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and was preceded in death by his stepmother, Hannah Patrick, and one sister, Magaline Patrick.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Opal Sheperd Patrick; one son, Ronald Patrick of Springdale; two daughters, Tina Patrick of Pettigrew and Tammy Patrick of Fayetteville; one stepson, Ed Atkinson of Pettigrew; one stepdaughter, Betty Omohundro of West Fork; one brother, Melburn Patrick of Delaney; one other sister, Billie Dewberry of California; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral was at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, at the Living Faith Pentecostal Church of God in Fayetteville with Rev. Buel Curtis officiating.
Interment was in the Williams cemetery near Pettigrew under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home of Huntsville.
Active pallbearers were Mike Fanning, Clois Ellison, Leslie Skaggs, Mike Self, Sammy Atkinson, and Johnie Atkinson.
Honorary pallbearer was Maelisa Omohundro.
Rowland K. Sparks
Rowland K. Sparks, 72, died Saturday, Nov. 6, 1999, at St. Johns Medical Center at Joplin, Mo.
A native of Lamar, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Russell Sparks, a welding supervisor for D W Dart Truck Manufacture, member of the Grove United Methodist Church, and was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Betty Mae Bradley Sparks, one brother, Don, and one sister, Nina.
He is survived by one daughter, Susan Harris of Kearney, Mo.; two granddaughters and spouse, Reagan and Michael Martin of Kearney, Mo., and Alissa Harris of Kearney, Mo.; one great-granddaughter, Sierrah Martin of Kearney, Mo.; one brother and sister-in-law, Troy and Judy Sparks of Delaware; one sister, Chloia Greer of Bernie, Mo.; and one sister-in-law, Velma Sparks of Mexico, Mo.
Graveside services and burial were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, at the Holman cemetery north of Lamar with Rev. Gorman Daniel officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Hinderliter-Woodard Funeral Service of Grove, Okla.
Mrs. Mary Emma Hardin
Mrs. Mary Emma Hardin, 93, of Clarksville died Friday, Nov. 5, 1999, at Paris.
A native of Clarksville, she was a daughter of the late Mark Lafyette and Mary Gertha Rockmore Harkreader, widow of Jimmy Hardin, graduate of Clarksville High School, attended business college in Little Rock, and a lifetime member of the First Baptist Church where she served as clerk for 70-plus years and had 56 years of perfect attendance at church.
She is survived by one nephew, James Mark Harkreader of Paris; one niece, Patsy Coston of Montgomery, Ala.; and three great-nieces.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Robert Brown officiating.
Burial was in Oakland cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Doyle Witherspoon, Billy Simpson, Joe Johnston Jr., Arvin Massengale Jr., Virgil Knight and Steve Sink.
