Lester Harris, 89, of Batesville died Thursday, March 26, 2009, in a Batesville hospital.
Born May 30, 1919, in Aleab, Texas, he was the son of Bud and Ida Driskill Harris. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, where he drove tanks. He was a retired heavy equipment operator. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion Post No. 114 and enjoyed fishing, yard work and visiting.

MOUNTAIN HOME - Larry Wayne Olson, 51, of Mountain Home died Sunday, March 22, 2009, in Mountain Home.
Born April 11, 1957, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, he was the son of Arnold and Mildred Cornell Olson. He worked as an insurance salesman. He had lived in Mountain Home since 1978, moving from Amboy, Minn. He was an active member of his church.

LOCUST GROVE - Catherine Sandy, 80, of Locust Grove died today, March 27, 2009, in a Batesville hospital.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Roller-Crouch Funeral Home Chapel in Batesville with Steve Caughron officiating. Burial will be in Egner Cemetery in Salado.
Pallbearers will be Doug Waugh, Greg Waugh, Bruce Winston II, Bobby Thompson and Don Clem.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday.

Bertha Bernice Dodd, 81, of Batesville died Thursday, March 26, 2009.
Born March 20, 1928, in Batesville, she was the daughter of Peter and Ruth Brown Grooms. She was a member of White Drive Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Tom Dodd of Batesville; a daughter, Pamela Murdock of Weatherford, Texas; a brother, Henry Grooms of Batesville; two sisters, Lois McMillan and Eula Croft, both of Batesville; four grandchildren, Adam Dodd, Ashley Dodd, Tracie Murdock and Kim Murdock; and a great-grandchild, Lauren Richards.

Elmer Wade
Elmer Ray Wade, 64, of Batesville died Thursday, March 26, 2009, at his home.
Born Aug. 13, 1944, in Izard County, he was the son of William Warren Wade and Avanell Irene Smith Wade. He was retired from Hipp Lumber Company and was a member of Allen Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.

MOUNT PLEASANT - Thomas Dexter Johnson, 51, of Mount Pleasant died Tuesday, March 24, 2009, in Melbourne.
Born April 29, 1957, in Batesville, he was the son of George Arnett Johnson and Vernie Caraway Johnson. He was united in marriage to Imogene Jones on Aug. 28, 1997, in Jonesboro. He was a self-employed truck driver and was of the Baptist faith.

Arrangements will be announced by Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.

Charles Mitchell
Charles Mitchell, 79, of Batesville died Monday, March 23, 2009, in a Batesville hospital.
Born Aug. 7, 1929, in Limedale, he was the son of Ralph and Ruth Mitchell. He was a retired truck driver and was of the Christian faith.
Survivors include his wife, Bobbie Mitchell; three sons, Alan Mitchell of Laverne, Calif., and Bill Mitchell and Mike Mitchell, both of Batesville; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Jimmy Millspaugh
SULPHUR ROCK - Jimmy Millspaugh, 75, of Sulphur Rock died Tuesday, March 24, 2009, in a Little Rock hospital.
Born Jan. 4, 1934, in Batesville, he was the son of Arvil and Mary Milligan Millspaugh. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a retired painter and was of the Christian faith.

Arrangements will be announced by Willis Funeral Service of Batesville.

PHOENIX - Ruth N. Cole, 89, of Phoenix died May 28, 2009.
She was a member of Eastside Church of Christ in Phoenix.
Survivors include two daughters, Lynda Willis of Glendale, Ariz., and Patricia White of Phoenix; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Walter Pascoe Cole.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Blue Springs Cemetery in Newark.
Visitation will be from noon to 1:30 p.m. at Jackson’s Newark Funeral Home.

Talmage Smithee
Talmage Smithee, 91, of Batesville died Sunday, June 7, 2009, in a Batesville nursing home.
Born Jan. 23, 1918, at Shelbyville, he was the son of Lee and Louie Norris Smithee. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during World War II. He was the owner of Smithee Service and Repair and was a member of 20th Street Missionary Baptist Church in Batesville.

CORD - Mary Virginia Heyde, 58, of Cord died Friday, June 5, 2009, in a Jonesboro hospital.
Born May 9, 1951, in Cleveland, she was the daughter of William and Virginia Akins Schwab. She was a retired assembly worker for White-Rodgers Company in Batesville. She was a member of Oak Ridge United Methodist Church.
