Vernon Wayne Dalton
Vernon Wayne Dalton, 51, of Clarksville died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2000, at St. Edward Mercy Medical Center in Fort Smith.
He was a retired coal miner, heavy equipment operator, and a member of the Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Benita Danile Dalton; four sons, Kenny Dalton of Ozone and Rickey Dalton, Jody Dalton and Jason Smith, all of Clarksville; parents, William (Bill) and Ada Dalton of Clarksville; two sisters, Vickie Carter of Coal Hill and Tracy Moore of Perryville; five brothers, Jimmy Dalton of Dover, Bill Joe Dalton of Hartman, Jonny Dalton of Hagarville, and Marty Dalton and George Dalton, both of Spadra; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 26, at Roller-Cox Chapel with David Zeiler officiating. Burial will be in Hays Chapel cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Steve Moore, Larry Hogue, Dennis Daniel, Dennis Ragsdale Jr., Paul Williams, and Johnny Haney.
Honorary pallbearers will be Toney Havener, Curley Neumeier, and Bob Hency.
Burgess Jenkins
Burgess Jenkins, 67, of Lamar died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2000, at his home.
He was a native of Michigan, son of the late Jasper and Klare Warden Jenkins, and a retired iceman.
Survivors are one daughter, Anna Searight Jenkins of Lamar; four sisters; and eight brothers.
Graveside services and burial were at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 31, at Lamar cemetery with Rev. Edna Burnett officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Mrs. Dorothy Nicholas
Mrs. Dorothy Nicholas, 88, of Hartman died Friday, Jan. 28, 2000, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
A native of Clarendon, she was a daughter of the late Dr. Albert H. and Estella Grace Royer Gilbrech, widow of Lawrence Milwee Haynes and Jay Nicholas, graduate of Fayetteville High School, a Methodist, former resident of Spain, Africa, and Hawaii when Pearl Harbor was bombed, and was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold Gilbrech and Raymond Gilbrech; and two nephews, Raymond Carl Gilbrech and Donald Gilbrech.
She is survived by one stepson and spouse, Hubert and Ruth Nicholas of Fort Smith; one niece, Sue Gilbrech of Utah; cousins, Dutch and Judy Houston of Clarksville; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral was at 3 p.m. Monday, Jan. 31, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with Rev. Chris Rink officiating. Burial was in Kendall cemetery.
Pallbearers were Dutch Houston, Marty Houston, Carl Minden, Mitchell Knapp, Paul Blackard, and John Taylor.

Mrs. Dillie D. Reese
Mrs. Dillie Dicie Reese, 93, of Salus died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2000, in Lawton, Okla.
She was a daughter of the late Jackson and Dicie King Poteet, widow of N. G. Reese, retired poultry producer and mail carrier, member of the Ozone Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by one son, J. C. Reese.
She is survived by one daughter, Winnie Mansfield of Lawton, Okla.; one son, Gordon Reese of Salus; one sister, Maudie Gillian of Conway; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 2, at the Ozone Baptist Church with Rev. Raymond Palmer officiating.
Burial will be in Salus cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers will be Vernon Crofford, Jason Crofford, Jim Mitchell, Carl Robinson, Bob Herod, and Clyde Willis.
Honorary pallbearers will be Clarence Warren, Bill Caldwell, Leroy Boese, Armil Curran, Larry Caldwell, and Ralph Davis.
Mrs. Dora Ellen Turner
Mrs. Dora Ellen Wallace Turner, 71, of Inola, Okla., died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2000.
She was a native of Ozone, former resident of Owasso, Okla., member of Freedom Baptist Church in Owasso, Okla., widow of Stonie Turner, and was preceded in death by one daughter, Lana Dowda.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda Kidder of Owasso, Okla., and Janece Turner of Catoosa, Okla.; five sisters and three brothers-in-law, Doris and Tom Estep of Winlock, Wash., Clara Harvey of Marysville, Wash., Virginia and John Turner of Oark, Wanda Brown of Tulsa, Okla., and Edith and Jim Walker of Inola, Okla.; and grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Kelly, Shana, Michelle, Stonie Ray, Christopher, Caitlin, D. J., Hunter, Jacob, Michael and Coby.
Ernest Lee Fultz Jr.
Ernest Lee (Bud) Fultz Jr., 51, of Coal Hill died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2000, in Southaven, Miss.
He was a son of the late Ruth Johnson Fultz, member of the Pentecostal of God Church in Ozark and a 20-year employee of the IGA Store in Ozark.
Survivors include his father, Ernest Fultz Sr. of Coal Hill; one sister, Patsy Morgan of Lawrenceburg, Tenn.; grandmother, Gladys Johnson of Hartman; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral was at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 31, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rev. Tony Mongan officiating. Burial was in Hartman cemetery.
Pallbearers were Tony Morgan Jr., John Mark Morgan, Timothy Morgan, Steven Morgan, David Morgan, and John Mark Morgan II.
Mrs. Edith Williams
Mrs. Edith (Jackie) Williams, 75, of Clarksville died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2000, at her home.
A native of Earle, she was a daughter of the late Herbert and Mamie Layton, 1942 graduate of Earle High School, member of Stillwell Bible Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by two sisters, Constance Layton and Mildred Penrod; and two brothers, Edward Layton and Thomas Layton.
Survivors include her husband, Ken Williams; one daughter, Carol Ann Stephens of Emporia, Kan.; three sons, Billy Don Williams of Clarksville, Charles Williams of San Diego, Calif., and Roger D. Williams of Knoxville; six sisters, Dorothy Jones of Marion, Louise Migett of Hernando, Miss., Betty Hall of Fairview, Tenn., Patsy Layton and Vickie Jones, both of West Memphis, and Nell Layton of Madison, Tenn.; four brothers, John Layton of South Bend, Ind., Jerry Layton of Blytheville, Herbert Ray Layton of Easton, Mass., and Paul Layton of Harrison; and four grandchildren, Chris Asbury of Clarksville, Carrie Asbury of Georgia, and Holly Williams and Melissa Williams, both of Jasper, Ala.
Graveside services and burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 4, at the Stillwell cemetery with Rev. Jim Goodman officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Billy D. Williams, Charles K. Williams, Roger D. Williams, Chris Asbury, Dave Stephens, and Steve Terrill.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 3, at Hardwicke Funeral Home.
