Mrs. Kathryn Robertson

Mrs. Kathryn Pauline (Polly) Robertson, 75, died Jan. 11, 2000, at her home in Washtucna, Wash.

She was a native of Clarksville, daughter of the late James Andrew and Annie Mae Reed Rigsby, and was preceded in death by one son, James (Jamie) Vaught Robertson of Rock Springs, Wyo., and one sister, Bonita (Dub) Morrison of Bakersville, Calif.

Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Donna Sue and Klaus (Buff) Claessen of Fresno, Calif., Brenda (Bennie) and Mike Fraser of Rock Springs, Wyo., and Frankie (Kankie) and Joe Mayer of Clarksville; one son and daughter-in-law, Jesse and Rita Vaught of Casper, Wyo.; two sisters, Mabel (Jink) Murray of Sacramento, Calif., and Louise (Pete) Roberts of Coal Hill; ten grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

The body was cremated on Jan. 18 in Spokane, Wash., under the direction of Danekas Funeral Home of Ritzville, Wash.

A graveside memorial service for the family will be planned this summer at the Shady Grove cemetery in Clarksville.

Mrs. Lena F. Crotts

Mrs. Lena Felkins Crotts, 95, of Clarksville died Friday, Feb. 4, 2000, at Countryside Manor Nursing Home.

She was a member of the East Mount Zion Trinity Baptist Church, daughter of the late Suel and Jane Bean King, and widow of Burl Felkins and Jesse Crotts.

She is survived by three sons, Bill Felkins, Vester Felkins, and James Felkins, all of Clarksville; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral was at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 7, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rev. Robbie Jackson and Rev. Joe Craft officiating. Burial was in Stillwell cemetery.

Pallbearers were Kevin Felkins, Billy Joe Felkins, Brent Crumrine, Ben J. Hardgrave, Randy Felkins, Eric Cline, and Brandon Felkins.

Maurice C. Iddings

Maurice C. Iddings, 75, of Clarksville died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2000, in a Fort Smith hospital.

He was a son of the late Maurice and Marie Iddings, a World War II Army Air Corps veteran, an attorney specializing in the legal aspects of real estate having retired as an attorney with the federal government in 1993. He was a graduate of Occidental College and Loyola University School of Law and also taught real estate law at the University of California, all in Los Angeles, Calif.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Jean Jacobs Iddings; two daughters, Katie Kappleman of Arcadia, Calif., and Debbie Cline of Florida; four sons, John Iddings of Apple Valley, Calif., James Iddings of Los Angeles, Calif., Randy Cline of Washington, and John Cline of Missouri; one brother, Carter Iddings of Fort Morgan, Colo.; and eight grandchildren.

Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 7, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rev. Jim Goodman and Rev. Vernon Bass officiating. Burial was in Oakland cemetery.

Pallbearers were Bruce Phillips, Norman Fortney, James Price, Tim Mooney, Wayne Davis, and Don Galbreth.

Mrs. Mattie Rowton

Mrs. Mattie Vaughn Rowton, 86, of Clarksville died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2000, at Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock.

She was a native of the Ludwig Community, daughter of the late William V. and Mary V. Landthrip Vaughn, widow of Julian Rowton, graduate of Clarksville High School, and a member of the East Mount Zion Trinity Baptist Church.

She is survived by three daughters, Mary Spainhour of Crossett and Judy Shook and Patty Sue Rowton, both of Clarksville; one sister, Gwendola Langman of Colorado Springs, Colo.; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral was at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, at East Mount Zion Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Robbie Jackson officiating.

Burial was in Mt. Airy cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Larry Shook, Shelby Shook, Burley Shook, Louie Don Leeds, Gary Mitchell, R. L. Williams, and Mike Latouf.

Paulie Mayfield

Paulie Mayfield, 75, of Fort Smith died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2000, in Medi-Home Nursing Home in Fort Smith.

He was a native of Coal Hill, son of the late Fate and Hallie Hard Mayfield, a 32nd degree Mason, member of the Methodist Church in Yukon, Okla., retired truck driver with Yellow Freight Truck Lines in Oklahoma City, Okla., and was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Emogene Sudsberry Mayfield.

He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Catherine and Jimmy L. Garner of Fort Smith; one sister, Georgia Wolf of Ozark; one brother, John Mayfield of Altus; two grandchildren, Rebecca Garner and Jeffery L. Garner, both of Fort Smith; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with Rev. Vernon Bass officiating. Burial was in Coal Hill cemetery.

Pallbearers were C. J. Harris, Elmer Pannell, Jeff Hatwig, Wilfred Hatwig, Donnie Mayfield, and Wendell Lee.

Memorials may be made to Gideons International or the American Heart Association, P. O. Box 1274, Fort Smith, AR 72901.

Mrs. Ruby W. Gould

Mrs. Ruby Warren Gould, 89, of Clarksville died Monday, Feb. 7, 2000, at Lamar.

She was a daughter of the late Willis and Anna Belle Storms Warren, widow of Jamie O. Gould, member of Trinity Baptist Church in Fort Smith, a retired Hunts Department Store employee and was preceded in death by one sister, Gladys Skaggs; and one brother, Lewis Warren.

She is survived by one sister, Lillian Goodwin of Clarksville; one sister-in-law, Pearl Warren of McCleary, Wash.; three nieces; and one nephew.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 10, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating. Burial will be in Russell cemetery at Ozone.

Memorials may be made to Trinity Baptist Church, 3619 N. 6th Street, Fort Smith, AR 72904.

Robert L. Nitz

Robert LaVerne Nitz, 77, of Atchison, Kan., died Friday, Feb. 4, 2000, at his home.

He was a native of Cummings, Kan., son of the late Edward A. and Ruth B. Vandiver Nitz, attended schools in Cummings, Kan., served in the United States Army during World War II, was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Fleming-Jackson-Seever Post No. 6 of the American Legion, served as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, and was employed by Midwest Solvents Company (now Midwest Grain Products Company) from 1962 until his retirement in 1987. He was preceded in death by one son, Francis Nitz; two brothers; and one sister.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Rosemary Soerries Nitz, whom he married on June 28, 1948, in Hartman; one son, Albert Nitz of Lawrence, Kan.; three daughters, Emily M. Brown of Lee's Summitt, Mo., Benita J. Hendrickson of Leavenworth, Kan., and Mary L. Lindstrom of Atchison, Kan.; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian burial was at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rev. Gerard Senecal, O.S.B., as celebrant. Interment followed in Mt. Calvary cemetery. A Parish Vigil service was recited at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 7, at Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home.

Stuard M. Dunn

Stuard Michael Dunn, 29, of Clarksville died Monday, Feb. 7, 2000, at Arkansas Children's Hospital.

Survivors include his father, Roger Dale Dunn Sr. of Clarksville; mother, Sharon Marlene Bragg of Clarksville; two sisters, Leanne Lee and Danyel Raylene Owens, both of Clarksville; two brothers, Roger Dale Dunn Jr. and Chad Robert Dunn, both of Clarksville; grandmother, Verna Denninson of Clarksville; and uncles and aunts, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Denninson of Kewanee, Ill., and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Glenn of Clarksville.

Funeral will be at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. Burial will be in Tucson, Ariz. Arrangements are under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
