Ronald Dale Gage

Ronald Dale (Ron) Gage, 54, of Fort Smith, nephew of Ray (Pee Wee) Jones of Knoxville, died Friday, March 24, 2000, at his home.

He was a native of Biloxi, Miss., son of the late Dale and Agnes Jones Gage, former resident of Ozark, member of the First United Methodist Church of Ozark, and a physical therapist at Sparks Regional Medical Center in Fort Smith.

Survivors include two sisters, Lynda McLaughlin of Ozark and Deborah Thomas of Starkville, Miss.; one aunt, Marye Jayne Pendleton of Fort Smith; and two other uncles, Harold Jones and Travis Gage Sr., both of Ozark.

Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, March 27, at Ozark First United Methodist Church with Rev. Roger Glover officiating.

Burial was at Highland cemetery under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Steve Gage, Rick Gage, Travis Gage, Charles Ray White, Bobby Sells, and Lonnie Mac Tolbert.

Burl Wilson Dean

Burl Wilson Dean, 84, of Russellville died Friday, April 7, 2000, at AMI St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville.

A native of Bass, he was a son of the late William and Effie Dickey Dean, retired employee of Bibler Brothers Lumber Company, member and deacon of Second Baptist Church of Russellville, and a former member of Dover Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by seven brothers and one sister.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Gladys Bibler Dean; one son and daughter-in-law, Jerry L. and Karen Dean of Clarksville; one daughter and son-in-law, Janice F. and Horace of Barnhouse of McAlester, Okla.; one brother, R. J. Dean of California; one sister, Sue Regallie of Lebanon, Ore.; five grandsons; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral was at 10 a.m. Monday, April 10, at the Second Baptist Church in Russellville with Rev. David McLemore officiating.

Burial was in Rest Haven cemetery at Russellville under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service.

Pallbearers were Daniel Barnhouse, Timothy Barnhouse, Stefan Barnhouse, Joshua Dean, Jerred Dean, James Bibler, and Rick George.

Memorials may be made to the Second Baptist Church in Russellville.

Cortis Leo Huff

Burial for Cortis Leo Huff, 71, of Downey, Calif., will be Thursday, April 13, in Whittier, Calif.

He was a native of Clarksville and served in the U. S. Navy. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Georgia Hardgraves Huff; and one son, Cortis Huff.

Survivors include three sisters and brothers-in-law, Patricia and Doug Laughter of Little Rock, Beverly and Leon Duke of Booneville, and Sandra and Robert Reynolds of Fayetteville; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, James Francis and Nadine Huff of Little Rock and Johnnie and Bess Huff of Heavner, Okla.; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Elva Plemons

Mrs. Elva Pearl Plemons, 90, died Friday, March 31, 2000, at Ozark Nursing Home.

She was a native of Johnson County, daughter of the late Robert Willard and Eliza Jane Green Stokes, widow of Harvey Plemons, longtime resident of Glendora, Calif., and a member of Glendora Methodist Church.

Survivors include one son, Jim Plemons of Glendora, Calif.; one sister, Ercie Woolsey of Ozark; one brother, Leo Stokes of Ozark; three grandchildren, Julie Peck and Cory Plemons, both of Glendora, Calif., and Edward Plemons of San Dimas, Calif.; and one great-granddaughter, Lili Plemons of San Francisco, Calif.

Graveside services and burial were at Oakdale Memorial Park cemetery in Glendora, Calif.

Mrs. Gladys Y. Morris

Mrs. Gladys Yandell Morris of Sedro-Wooley Nursing Home in Burlington, Wash., died Sunday, April 2, 2000.

A former resident of Johnson County, she was a daughter of the late Andy and Elzora Yates Yandell, widow of John Morris, former resident of Mt. Vernon, Wash., member of Valley Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by two sons, three brothers, and one sister.

She is survived by two brothers, Huell Yandell and wife, Wanda, of Fayetteville and E. C. Yandell of Texas; two sisters, Vera Moore of Tulsa, Okla., and Orvetta Carle of Cotter; two sisters-in-law, Wilma Dobbs of Mt. Vernon, Wash., and June Rohweder of Concrete, Wash.; two brothers-in-law, Tom Morris of Sedro-Wooley, Wash., and Guy Morris of Corona, Wash.; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside services and burial were at 1 p.m. Friday, April 7, at Hawthorne Memorial Park in Burlington, Wash., with Rev. Don DeJong officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Hawthorne Funeral Home.

Homer Raymond Geer

Graveside services and burial for Homer Raymond Geer, 79, of Park Hills, Mo., who died Friday, April 7, 2000, at his home were at 10 a.m. Monday, April 10, at the Annie's Chapel cemetery with Rev. Sally Ladd officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Melvin Keylon, Jonathon Fetters, Curtis Fetters, Aron Arnold, Eric Keylon, Tom Courson, and Michael Courson.

He was a son of the late James Anderson and Lucy Trice Geer and a retired employee of the Chrysler Corporation.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Martha Jane Owen Geer; one daughter and son-in-law, Mary Anna and Terry Trumbull of Missouri; one son and daughter-in-law, David Ray and Judy Geer of St. Louis, Mo.; three brothers, Joe Geer of Nevada, and Trice Geer and Ocie Greer, both of California; and two grandchildren.

Mrs. Hazel F. Yates

Funeral for Mrs. Hazel Flower Yates, 72, of Fort Smith, who died Friday, April 7, 2000, in Fort Smith was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 11, at Moffett Baptist Church in Moffett, Okla., with Rev. Mike Stark and Rev. Phil Young officiating. Burial was at 3 p.m. in the Freewill cemetery at Fallsville under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Moffett Baptist Mission, 315 Belt Street, Moffett, OK 74946.

Mrs. Yates was a daughter of the late Alfred and Nettie Collins Storm and widow of Harold Otto Yates.

She is survived by two sons, Harold D. Yates of Fort Smith and Darrell L. Yates of Mt. Juliet, Tenn.; three sisters, Martha Yates of Oden, Lattice Holmes of Fort Smith and Audrey Lee Wilcox of Sugar Island, Mich.; one brother, Ed Storm of Springdale; and four grandchildren.

Mrs. Kate C. Herzfeld

Funeral for Mrs. Kate C. Herzfeld of Muskogee, Okla., was March 17.

She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. E. (Bud) Carothers of Lamar, widow of Virgil Herzfeld, a native of Johnson County, and had resided in Muskogee, Okla., for 70 years.

She is survived by two sons, Kenneth Herzfeld of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Gene Herzfeld of Tulsa, Okla.; one brother, Pete Carothers of Corpus Christi, Texas; two sisters, Alma Williams of Crockett, Calif., and Alice Cox of Jackson, Tenn.; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Mary Ann Jones

Mrs. Mary Ann Jones, 55, of Hartman died Thursday, April 6, 2000, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.

She is survived by one daughter, Moya Jones of Coulterville, Calif.; two sons, Brian Jones of Hartman and Tom Jones of Springdale; and four grandchildren.

The body was viewed Saturday, April 8, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
