Karen Sue Summers, 55, of Scranton died Wednesday, May 16, 2001, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a daughter of the late Paul and May Jacobs.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas W. Summers.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 24, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating.
Lucinda Long
Lucinda Long, 91, of Clarksville died Friday, May 18, 2001, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was born at Ludwig, daughter of the late Will and Sally Blue Carter, widow of John A. Long, and member of Clarksville Church of Christ.
She is survived by one daughter, Jewell Patton of Clarksville; one son, W. T. (Bud) Long of Little Rock; three grandchildren, Connie Griffith of Coal Hill, Tom Nunley of Lafayette, La., and W. T. (Billy) Long Jr. of Little Rock; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, at the Church of Christ with John Ballard and Mike Eppinette officiating.
Burial was at Oakland cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Ted Young, Edd Young, Greg Wilson, Toby Wilson, Bob Frost, and Craig Frost.
Lee Overbey
Lee Overbey, 91, of Clarksville died Saturday, May 19, 2001, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
A native of Lamar, he was a son of the late Tony and Mattie Landthrip Overbey, graduate of Lamar High School, Navy veteran of World War II, and former owner of Overbey IGA Store in Clarksville for 26 years.
He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Archie Lantz of Clarksville; three sisters, Mary De Vey of Newark, N. Y., Vera Young of Fort Smith, and Vivian King of Clarksville; four grandchildren, Mike Lantz of New London, Texas, Ronnie Lantz of North Little Rock, Greg Lantz of Conroe, Texas, and Sharon Mercure of Clarksville; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 23, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with Rev. Billy Usery officiating. Burial will be in Mount Airy cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Eldon Scoggins, Mark Tumbleson, Tom Jones, Mike Rylee, Ronnie Lantz, and Greg Lantz.
Woody Ray Long
Woody Ray Long, 68, of Mountainburg, father of Shirley Faye Long of Coal Hill, died Saturday, May 12, 2001, at his home.
He was a native of Blanchard, Okla., son of the late Thomas Mason and Lula Lawrence Long, farmer, Army veteran, and member of the Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include his widow, Eula Faye Long; one other daughter, Lula Dale Cox of Arbyrd, Mo.; one son, Earl Ray Long of Lafe; two sisters, Effie Gardner of Moses Lake, Wash., and Frances Sivage of Fort Smith; and three grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial were at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 16, at the Harmon cemetery with Rev. Alvin Hunter and Rev. Betty Huggins officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.
Pallbearers were William Bates, Camilo Gallegos, Albert Sivage, Jim Sivage, Thomas Sivage, and Billy Newton.
Harold Gene Barron Jr.
Harold Gene Barron Jr., 48, of Navasota, Texas, a construction employee, died Friday, May 11, 2001, in Navasota, Texas.
Survivors include his parents, Harold Gene Barron Sr. and Henrietta Jackson Barron of Clarksville; sister and brother-in-law, Joann and Leo Jasso of Danbury, Texas; three nephews; two nieces; and a number of aunts and uncles.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 19, at the Jamestown Assembly of God Church with Rev. Amos Pledger and Rev. Rick Reaves officiating.
Burial was in Carter cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Havanah M. Mayfield
Havanah Mae Ward Shipman Mayfield, 82, of Conway, mother of Barbara Ann Standridge of Lamar, died Wednesday, May 16, 2001, at Conway Regional.
She was born at Naylor to Albert Orlander and Mary Jane Kirshner Ward, was the widow of Homer Mayfield, and was preceded in death by one son, Donnie Ray Shipman.
Survivors include six sons, Ronnie James Shipman of Cabot, Larry Shipman of Pine Bluff, Dale Alvin Shipman of Hot Springs, Ricky Keith Shipman and Michael Wayne Shipman, both of Little Rock, and Johnny Albert Shipman of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; two other daughters, Trudy Kay Birge of Siloam Springs and Roxie May Moreno of Little Rock; 30 grandchildren; 38-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
Graveside services and burial were at 2 p.m. Monday, May 21, at Pipkin cemetery at Benton under the direction of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home.
Willie Cotton Jr.
Willie Cotton Jr., 80, of Clarksville died Friday, June 1, 2001, at Clarksville Convalescent Home.
He was a native of Clarksville and retired Greenville Tube Corporation employee.
Survivors include his widow, Naomi Cotton; three daughters, Frances Jean O'Nel and Dorothy Ann Frison, both of Portland, Ore., and Alice Arthur of Clovis, N. M.; one son, Willie Cotton III of Paola, Kan.; four sisters, Ella Reed of Dardanelle, and Lois Wrye, Palace Lou Cotton, and Shirley Alston, all of Clarksville; two brothers, C. H. Cotton of Fort Smith and Leroy Cotton of Clarksville; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, McKinley and Beatrice Finley of Oklahoma City, Okla.; and one sister-in-law, Leona Reed of Detroit, Mich.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 7, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with Rev. William Hickman officiating. Burial will be in Oakland cemetery.

Billy Charles Dickerson
Billy Charles (Bill) Dickerson, 70, of Clarksville died Tuesday, June 5, 2001, at his home.
He was a native of Clarksville, son of the late James Wesley and Lillie Boen Dickerson, graduate of Clarksville High School, member of the First United Methodist Church, Navy veteran of the Korean War, cattle farmer, and co-owner of OK Food Market for 43 years. He was a former member and president of the Clarksville School Board and also served on the Clarksville Housing Authority board of directors for 24 years where he was chairman of the board for 13 years. He was preceded in death by two brothers, J. R. Dickerson and N. E. Dickerson; and three sisters, Jean Dickerson, Anna Moore, and Lottie Morgan.
Survivors include his widow, Peggy Dickerson; six children, Chuck Dickerson of Dallas, Texas, Billy Dickerson of Clarksville, Jimmy Dickerson of Oklahoma City, Okla., DeAnn Blackard and Dana Plugge, both of Clarksville, and Dinah Dickerson of Fayetteville; two daughters-in-law, Marian Dickerson and Susan Dickerson; two sons-in-law, Jeff Blackard and Charlie Plugge; stepmother, Ila Dickerson of Clarksville; one brother, Jim Dickerson Jr. of Clarksville; three sisters, Pearl Whitson of Clarksville, Bonnie Dickerson of Fort Smith, and Monetta Hadley of Ponca City, Okla.; and 13 grandchildren, Michael Dickerson, Chris Dickerson, Becca Dickerson, Greg Dickerson, Phillip Dickerson, John David Dickerson, Melissa Dickerson, Sarah Dickerson, Jordan Plugge, Wesley Plugge, Thomas Plugge, Abby Blackard, and Wyatt Blackard.

Rev. Billy D. Williams, 58, of Ozark, father of Hope Van Lauvan of Clarksville, died Thursday, June 7, 2001, at his home.
He was a native of Biscoe, son of the late Harvey Allen Williams, and a retired Pentecostal pastor of several area churches.
Survivors include his widow, Laurie Williams; two other daughters, Robbin Archer of Cabot and Gwen English of Altus; one stepdaughter, Terri Pullen of Ozark; two stepsons, David Pullen and Jonathan Pullen, both of Ozark; mother, Joyce Marie Hughes Williams; two sisters, Brenda Huntsinger Stacy of Ozark and Linda Flores of Waldron; one brother, Nick Williams of Ozark; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, June 11, at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Arleta Sheffield and David Zeiler officiating. Burial was in Highland cemetery.
