Laura Beth H. Dawson

Laura Beth Horne Dawson, 40, of Fayetteville died Thursday, June 14, 2001, at her home.
She was a former resident of Johnson County, daughter of the late Irma Horne, 1978 graduate of Harrison High School, graduate of the University of Arkansas, retired administrative assistant for Charter Vista Health Center, and a member of Christian Life Cathedral. She was a member and past president of Butterfield Elementary School PTA, member of Christian Women's Fellowship, honorary chair of the 1998 Relay For Life, and member of Delta Gamma sorority.
Survivors include her husband, Dudley E. Dawson; one daughter, Lindsey of the home; one son, Brooks of the home; father, Roy Horne of Fayetteville; two sisters, Leslie Callison of Tulsa, Okla., and Cara Dollins of Mountain Home; two brothers, Brian Horne of Fayetteville and Bennett Horne of Harrison; four nieces; and two nephews.
A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 19, at Christian Life Cathedral in Fayetteville. The body was cremated with cremation by Nelson's Funeral Home and arrangements under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home of Clarksville.
Memorials may be made to the Cancer Support Home in Fayetteville, the Butterfield Elementary School in Fayetteville, or the Laura Dawson Memorial Fund for Lindsey and Brooks Dawson at the Bank of Fayetteville where the account number is 90028457.

Michael Wayne Roach

Michael Wayne Roach, 38, of Eudora, Kan., died Tuesday, June 12, 2001, at Kansas University Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan.
A native of Fort Smith, he was a building contractor and was preceded in death by his father, James Roach.
Survivors include his mother, Flossie Roach of Clarksville; two sisters, Debra Roach of Gardner, Kan., and Cindy Trout of Clarksville; and two brothers, Robert Roach of Lamar and Stephen Roach of Eudora, Kan.
Graveside services and burial were at 10 a.m. Friday, June 15, at Nichols Chapel cemetery in Altus with Rev. Lance King officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Iva Violet Long

A graveside memorial service for Iva Violet Long, 91, of Centralia, Kan., who died April 8, 2001, in Onaga, Kan., will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday, July 2, at the Oark cemetery with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
She was a retired restaurant cook, member of the Wellsville Baptist Church in Wellsville, Kan., member of the Order of the Eastern Star, daughter of the late David Benjamin Arbaugh and Rhoda Allen, and the widow of Roy Long.
Survivors include one daughter, Betty L. Penix of Centralia, Kan.; one son, Clyde L. Long of Overland Park, Kan.; one sister, Ellen McMillian of Zanesville, Ohio; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Kenny Ferrell

Kenny Ferrell, 36, of Benton, grandson of Gertie Ferrell of Clarksville, died Thursday, June 21, 2001.
A native of Russellville, he was a repairman for Aimco Restaurant Equipment Company, and was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Albert Marvel Jr. and Marcus D. Ferrell.
Survivors include his parents, Leon and Carolyn Marvel Ferrell of Benton; two brothers and sister-in-law, Roger and Mary Ferrell and Tim Ferrell of Benton; fiancee, Kim Fry of East End; maternal grandmother, Hazel Marvel of Benton; three nephews, Johnny Ferrell of Conway and Wesley and Glenn Ferrell, both of Benton; and special friend, Julie Barrow of Benton.
Funeral was at 3 p.m. Monday, June 25, at Roller-Ballard Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Paul Roberts officiating. Burial was in New Rosemont Memorial Park in Benton.
Pallbearers were Rick Tidwell, Daryl Withrow, Joe Baker, Donnie Mayhew, and John Patterson.

Marvin (Al) Bewley

Marvin (Al) Bewley, 53, of Dover died Monday, June 25, 2001, at his home.
He was born at Four Corners, Ariz., to Marvin and Myrtle Bewley, and was employed as a supervisor for Con/Agra for 32 years.
Survivors include his widow, Jeanette Bewley; one son, Edward Allen Bewley of Dover; three daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy and James Deuerling and Toni and J. J. Johnson, all of Dover, and Melissa and Ern Dale of London; two brothers, Butch Bewley of Redding, Calif., and John Bewley of Dardanelle; three sisters, Margaret Archer of Redding, Calif., Jeanette Montero of Pottsville, and Sheila Mealer of Paragould; ten grandchildren, Lucas Allen Bewley of Pottsville, Ashley and Amanda Johnson, Jamie Deuerling, Courtney Freeman, and Nathan Johnson, all of Dover, and Levi, Caleb, Ben and Becca Dale, all of London; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 28, at Humphrey Chapel in Russellville with Rev. Jeff Paxton and Curtis Sawyer officiating. Burial will be at Shiloh cemetery in Atkins.
Active pallbearers will be Doy England, Chris Tinnell, Bill Burdine, Rick Watson, Jeff Petty, and Billy Walters.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jesse Minnie and Larry Wilbanks.

Sam Molinaro

Sam Molinaro, 81, of Knoxville died Saturday, June 23, 2001, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
A native of Chicago, Ill., he was a son of the late Antonio and Mildred Weiska Molinaro, member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, and NARFE Chapter No. 594, and in 1967 retired as a chief in the Navy after 26 years of service. He was a civil service employee for seven years and Farmers Bank and Trust Company in Clarksville for several years, former assistant administrator at Johnson Regional Medical Center, was instrumental in organizing the Johnson Regional Medical Center Auxiliary where he was a charter member, treasurer for several years, and since 1981 has 33,433 lifetime hours as a volunteer. He was past state treasurer of Arkansas Hospital Auxiliary in 1999-2000 and was preceded in death by two sisters.
Survivors include his widow, Bea Brown Molinaro; one daughter, Midge Rohr of Lake Forest, Ill.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Jan Molinaro of Evanston, Ill., and Larry and Diann Molinaro of Skokie, Ill.; one brother, Father Matthew Molinaro of Arkansaw, Wis.; six grandchildren, Becky Rohr of Washington, D. C., Sari Molinaro of Hyde Park, N. Y., David Rohr of Phoenix, Ariz., Bob Rohr of Lake Forest, Ill., Peter Molinaro of Evanston, Ill., and Jim Rohr of Lake Forest, Ill.; and one niece, Kathleen Gricius of Chicago, Ill.
Rosary was at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 26, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 27, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church with Father William Wewers and Father David Bellinghausen, O.S.B., officiating. Burial will be in Knoxville cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Peter Molinaro, David Rohr, Randy Struckmeyer, Kenneth Wood, Don Chappell, and Johnny Flurry.

Orel L. Gotcher

Orel (Al) Leavell Gotcher, 85, of Hot Springs, formerly of Clarksville, died Sunday, June 24, 2001, at National Park Medical Center in Hot Springs.
A native of Pope County, he was a son of the late Henry and Olga Leavell Gotcher, a lifelong businessman and building contractor, and a member of the Masonic Lodge for 50-plus years. He retired from United Bilt Homes in 1982 and moved to Hot Springs where he was a member of Harvey's Chapel Baptist Church.
Survivors include his widow, Faye Gotcher; two sons, Paul Gotcher of Naples, Fla., and Patrick Gotcher of Fort Worth, Texas; three stepchildren, Yvonne Adcox of North Little Rock, Sue Clark of Hot Springs, and Melvin K. Craft of Tulsa, Okla.; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with Rev. Joe Thompson and Rev. Gene Ellis officiating. Burial will be in Harmony cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until noon Wednesday, June 27, at Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Harvey's Chapel Baptist Church Sunday School Class, 2515 Mountain Pine Road, Hot Springs, AR 71913.

Carl D. Terherst

Carl D. Terherst, 78, of Coal Hill died Saturday, June 23, 2001, at his home.
A native of Denver, he was a son of the late Will and Tulia Underwood Terherst, Army veteran of World War II, member of the Coal Hill VFW 8532 and Labor Union, attended the Pentecostal Church, and was preceded in death by his wife, Kathern Terherst; three sons, Carl (Butch), Billy Gene, and Kevin Lynn; one daughter, Loretta; two brothers, Glenford and Norman Terherst; and one grandson, Ryan Stewart.
He is survived by eight daughters, Lena Roe of Omaha, Lynda Kite of Vine Grove, Ky., Lana Chronister, Mary Morgan, Julie Yates, and Beckie Stewart, all of Coal Hill, Jamie Brice of Knoxville, and Teresa Greb of Branch; two sons, Jackie Terherst of Wharton, W. Va., and Gary Terherst of Coal Hill; two sisters, Bamie Jones of Harrison and Bonnie Asberry of Green Forest; one brother, Wayburn Terherst of Omaha; 23 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 26, at the Coal Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Kenny Asberry officiating.
Burial was in Coal Hill cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers were Terry Roe, Wayne Terherst, Shane Chronister, Wade Chronister, Bradley Morgan, and Chris Morgan.
Honorary pallbearers were Ronnie Carpenter, Jay Brice, Wesley Stewart, Donovan Stewart, and Tyler Greb.

Elsie L. Bateman

Elsie Lucille Bateman, 65, of Hartman died Monday, June 25, 2001, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a daughter of the late Levi Fredman Ritchie and Ethel Margaret Case, widow of Harry Bateman, and a factory employee.
She is survived by one daughter, Teresa Stepp of Ozone; one sister, Goldie McGuire of Clarksville; three grandchildren; and companion, Frank Gustason of Hartman.
Graveside services and burial will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 30, at the Oark cemetery with Rev. Carl Sory officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
