Ambers (Runt) Denton
Ambers (Runt) Denton, 89, of Clarksville died Sunday, Nov. 19, 2000, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
A native of Hunt, he was a son of the late Walter and Jessie Wyrick Denton, graduate of Coal Hill High School, former scout for the Detroit Tigers baseball organization, dual member and past master of Franklin Masonic Lodge No. 9 at Clarksville and Masonic Lodge No. 383 at Coal Hill, 33rd degree Scottish Rite Mason, grand lecturer emiritus of the Grand Lodge of Arkansas, past patron of the Order of Eastern Star, and served as Rainbow Dad for 20 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II having served in the European Theatre and was wounded in Italy, a Purple Heart recipient and a life member of the American Legion Bunch Walton Post No. 22 and the Disabled American Veterans.
Survivors include his widow, Carolyn Baskin Denton; one son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Evelyn Denton of Russellville; one half-brother, Robert Harris of DeQueen; three grandsons and spouse, Justin and Meredith Denton of Little Rock, and Jason Denton and Joshua Denton, both of Russellville.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with Rev. Billy Usery officiating. Burial was in Oakland cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jason Denton, Justin Denton, Kenneth Denton, Jimmy Baskin, Terry Baskin, and Joe Carter.
Charlie C. Vaughn
Charlie C. Vaughn, 59, of Hartman died Thursday, Nov. 16, 2000.
He was of the Pentecostal faith, son of the late Lydia LaVerne Homes Vaughn, logger in the timber industry, and was preceded in death by one brother, Jeff Vaughn.
He is survived by two daughters, Lola Leighann Vaughn of Dewitt and Jackie Vaughn of Portland, Ore.; three sons, Charlie Vaughn of St. Charles, Johnathan Vaughn of Dewitt, and Howard Vaughn of Portland, Ore.; father, Keys M. Vaughn of Chatsworth, Calif.; two sisters, Betty R. Hicks of Bristol, Va., and Patricia Ann Venta of Talluga Lakes, Calif.; two brothers, Michael Vaughn of Simi Valley, Calif., and Eddie Vaughn of Coal Hill; and 11 grandchildren.
Funeral was at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 20, at Roller Funeral Chapel in Paris with cremation to follow.
Elsie May Snow
Elsie May Reynolds Snow, 94, of Clarksville died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2000.
She was a daughter of the late Henry B. and Selma Nichols Reynolds, widow of Charley Snow, a grocery store owner, and was preceded in death by one daughter, Ruby Charlsey Snow; and one sister, Marie Hoffman.
Survivors include one brother, Gran Reynolds of Clarksville; two nieces, Winnie McReynolds and Karen Johnson, both of Clarksville; and two nephews, Henry Hoffman and Larry Hoffman, both of St. Louis, Mo.
Graveside services and burial were at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17, at the Lamar cemetery with Mike Eppinette officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
O. Ernest Wiesner Jr.
Oswald Ernest (Ernie) Wiesner Jr., 67, of Cullom, Ill., and Picayune, Miss., husband of the former Mary Sue Carey of Hagarville, died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2000, at his home in Picayune, Miss.
A native of Thorpe, Wis., he was a son of the late Sophia Josephine (Krull) and Oswald Ernest Wiesner Sr., educated in Marshfield, Wis., and Chicago, Ill., schools, former Fort Smith police officer, former chief of police in Cullom, Ill., and former member of the Illinois State Police Auxiliary. He served in the U. S. Marine Corps during the Korean War, was a member of Skinner-Trost American Legion Post 122 in Cullom, Ill., A. F. and A. M. Lodge 539 in Chatsworth, Ill., and the Pontiac Moose Lodge. He was a former member and area representative of Chapter "C" Gold Wing Road Riders Association in Gilman, Ill., and had been a volunteer fireman at Matteson, Ill. He was founder of RKO Saw Sharpening and later owned and operated O'Saw and Tool in Cullom, Ill., for 30-years plus. He was preceded in death by one grandson, Jeffrey Ryan Wiesner.
Other than his widow, he is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Carey and Leslie Wiesner of Cullom, Ill., and Ron Wiesner of Bradley, Ill.; two brothers, Roger Wiesner of Glen Ellyn, Ill., and Kenneth Wiesner of Solon, Ohio; and four grandchildren, Abbey, Trevor, Adam, and Brendan Wiesner.
Funeral was at noon Saturday, Nov. 11, at Harris-Martin-Burke Funeral Home in Cullom, Ill., with Rev. Deborah Talbott of the Cullom United Methodist Church officiating. Burial was in West Lawn cemetery in Cullom, Ill., with graveside military honors by the Skinner-Trost American Legion Post 122.
Pallbearers were Bart Jennings, Larry Power, Roger Wiesner, Ferdie Walters, John Carey, and Rich Cloutier.
Gladys L. Dickerson
Gladys L. Dickerson, 94, of Clarksville died Monday, Nov. 20, 2000, at her home.
She was a native of Elmer, Okla., daughter of the late G. R. and Lily May Ritchie Holden, widow of Odus E. Dickerson, member of the First Baptist Church for 73 years, and was preceded in death by one stepson, Billy E. Dickerson; one brother, Don Holden; and one great-great-grandchild, Miranda James.
Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Sue and Frank Eichenberger of Morrilton and Alice Bates of Clarksville; one sister, Marie Johnson of Clarksville; one brother, Thurman Holden of San Jose, Calif.; three grandsons and spouses, Earle and Pat Eichenberger of Morrilton and David and Kathy Eichenberger and Bob and Tracy Eichenberger, all of Russellville; six great-grandchildren, Les Miller and J. D. Eichenberger of Morrilton, Scott James of Fort Smith, Jamie Eichenberger, Frankie Eichenberger and Amy Collins, all of Russellville; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with Dr. Robert Brown officiating. Burial will be in Oakland cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Earl Green, Dan Leeds, Jim Dickerson, Billy Dickerson, Harry McCracken, and Jerry Don Martin.

Lum Wilson Boehme
Lum Wilson Boehme, 81, of Clarksville died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2000, in Fayetteville.
He was a landscaping engineer, Army veteran of World War II, son of the late Charley and Etta Boehme, and was preceded in death by his first wife, Ada Boehme; one sister, Myrtle Shaw; and two brothers, Hoil Sutton and C. A. Boehme.
Survivors include his widow, Nora Dodge Boehme; three stepdaughters, Sue Pledger of Longview, Texas, Sharon Johnson of Lamar, and Belinda Harris of Hartman; two stepsons, Wayne Pitts and Glen Pitts, both of Lamar; two sisters, Isabell Taylor of Weatherford, Texas, and Floy Rearedon of Edgewood, Texas; two brothers, Alvin Boehme and Marvin Boehme, both of Maybank, Texas; 13 grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial were at 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17, at the Oakland cemetery with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Leona Pitts
Leona Pitts, 89, of Lamar died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2000.
A daughter of the late Elihue and Bethanie McAlister Jones, she was the widow of Ollie W. Pitts, and a member of the Mt. Home Freewill Baptist Church where she was a member of the ladies auxiliary and the senior citizens.
She is survived by four daughters, Faye Woodard of Clarksville, Rennie Craig of Knoxville, Janiece Hallowell of Haughton, La., and Geraldine Parker of London; three sons, H. E. (Bud) Pitts of Little Rock, Clifton Pitts of Ozone, and Jerry Pitts of Lamar; five sisters, Beulah Tumbleson and Nanie Lou Hodges, both of Missouri, Iva Rushing of Clarksville, Earlene Davis of Russellville, and Eula Owen of Lamar; three brothers, Columbus Jones of Lamar and Ira Jones and Junior Jones, both of Clarksville; 37 grandchildren; 70 great-grandchildren; and 23 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rev. Chester Higgs and Rev. Claude Froggatt officiating. Burial was in Minnow Creek cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Harold Monroe, Kelly Collier, Ron Dail Jr., Irvin Collier, David Perren, and Don Bowles.
Honorary pallbearers were E. O. (Buck) Chronister and Ronnie Dail Sr.
Rev. M. Roland Kelley
Rev. Millard Roland Kelley, 52, of Lamar died Sunday, Nov. 19, 2000.
He was pastor of the Lee's Chapel Assembly of God Church and former resident of Camden.
Survivors include his widow, Margaret Hamilton Kelley; three children, Michael Kelley of Washington, Willie Kelley of Camden, and Kim Kelley of Alma; one brother, Travis Kelley of Warren; one sister, Nancy Kelley of Camden; and two grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, at Victory Assembly of God Church with Rev. Jerry Ables, Rev. Jerry Womble and Rev. Todd Taylor officiating.
Burial will be in Salem cemetery under the direction of Proctor Funeral Home of Camden.
Anna Lee Newell
Anna Lee Newell, 91, died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2000, at Southpointe Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.
She was a native of Johnson County, daughter of the late W. D. and Mattie Conway Phillips of the Spring Hill Community, widow of George Newell, and was preceded in death by four brothers, Ben P., John J., George K., and W. D. Jr.; and three sisters, Edna Temple, Avo Geisler, and Ruth Stewart.
Survivors include one son, Tom of Carson City, Nev.; one daughter, Patricia Smith of St. Louis, Mo.; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services and burial were Monday, Nov. 13, at Fridens cemetery in St. Louis, Mo., under the direction of Buckholz Mortuary.
