F. Robert Smith

F. Robert (Bob) Smith, 88, of Carmel, Calif., died Sunday, Oct. 1, 2000, in Carmel, Calif.
He was born in Clarksville as part of a set of triplets, former resident of Sugar Pine, Calif., and telegraph operator at Yosemite, Calif., before being transferred by Western Union to Carmel, Calif. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lilli Smith.
He is survived by one son, Robin; two daughters, Debbie and Penny; three grandchildren, Christopher, Lauren and Taylor; one sister, Effie Webb (triplet); two brothers, Roy Smith (triplet) and Ennis Smith.
Memorials may be made to Monterey County SPCA or Hospice of the Central Coast.

Georgia K. Voetberg

Georgia Katherine Voetberg, 79, of Clarksville died Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2000, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a daughter of the late William T. and Easter Belle Maynard Hay and a factory employee.
Survivors include her husband, Larry Voetberg; one daughter, Deloris Sue Miller of Mesa, Ariz.; one son, Ronald Gene Miller; one sister, Emily Dial of Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
A memorial service was held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Steve Askins officiating.

John Porter

John Porter, 89, of Farmington died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2000, at Washington Regional Medical Center.
A native of the Harmony Community, he was a son of the late Guy C. and Tommie Ida King Porter, member of the Farmington United Methodist Church, farmer, former employee of Swift and Company, operator of Porter Produce, and was preceded in death by one brother, Robert H. Porter.
Survivors include three brothers and sisters-in-law, James Joseph and Estelle Porter of Clarksville, Wilson E. and Clydine Porter of Booneville, and Tom B. and Grace Porter of Fullerton, Calif.; two sisters, Doris Vernelle Church of Fort Worth, Texas, and Helen Hill of Farmington; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 6, at Moore's Chapel with burial at 2 p.m. in Harmony cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 42, Farmington, AR 72730 or the charity of the donor's choice.

Kathryn Dial

Kathryn Dial, 67, of Dover died Sunday, Oct. 8, 2000, at Dardanelle Hospital.
She was a daughter of the late Otto and Alice Marie Goddard Clair, native of Scott County, member of the West Side Full Gospel Church in Clarksville, and was preceded in death by one son, Rick L. Wood; one son-in-law, Wendell Sanders; and one brother, Jimmy Clair.
She is survived by four daughters and two sons-in-law, Carol and Gary Black, Ginger Sanders, Terri and Troy Morris and Janice Smith, all of Dover; two sons, Donnie Wood of Russellville and Gary Clair of Dover; one brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Carolyn Clair of Pottsville; one sister and brother-in-law, Rita and Ken Barber of Ontario, Calif.; aunt, Emma Goddard of Russellville; ten grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, at Shinn Chapel with Rev. J. W. McEntyre officiating. Burial will be in Langford cemetery near Scottsville.
Active pallbearers will be James Patterson, Jim Moore, Jason Spradlin, Dustin Wood, Stevie Clair, David Clair and Lee Cummings.
Visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, at Shinn Funeral Service in Russellville.
Memorials may be made to the building fund of the West Side Full Gospel Church of Clarksville.

Nathan G. Climer

Nathan G. Climer, 19, of London died Saturday, Oct. 7, 2000, at Flat Rock.
He was a member of the Flat Rock Assembly of God Church, attended Lamar School and was a freshman at Arkansas Tech University in Russellville where he was a pre law major.
Survivors include his parents, Janet and Max Falls of London; grandparents, Margaret and Leonard Hardgrave of Flat Rock and Maxine and Thomas Falls of Pottsville; two sisters, Katie Falls and Sara Falls, both of Dover; one brother, Craig Falls of Dover; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, at the Flat Rock Assembly of God Church with Rev. Keith Bedford and Rev. William Phelps officiating.
Burial will be in Price cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Climer, Jeremy Climer, Daniel Hardgrave, James Hardgrave, Carson Arcia, Jason Duff, Randy Eldridge, and Daniel Bankhead.

Robert C. Hanuska

Robert C. Hanuska, 78, of Clarksville died Sunday, Oct. 8, 2000, at his home.
He was a native of Chicago, Ill., son of the late John and Helen Lietz Hanuska, was preceded in death by his first wife, Juanita Mae Colbert Hanuska, attended Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, served in France during World War II and was the recipient of several medals including two Purple Hearts.
Survivors include his widow, Margaret Sarah Hanuska; one daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Ken Wolak of Brookfield, Ill.; three sons and daughters-in-law, Robert J. and Mary Ann Hanuska of Willow Springs, Ill., Bill and Kelly Hanuska of Hartman, and Steven and Pam Hanuska of Braidwood, Ill.; ten grandchildren, Donald, Mindy and Tim Wolak, Peggy Hanuska, Tanya McDonald, Ciara and Emily Hanuska, Steven and Michael Hanuska, and Liz Kozicki; and two great-grandchildren, Kara and Faith McDonald.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, at Hilltop Bible Church located on Highway 164 near Horsehead Lake with Rev. Bill Allen officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Wilhelmine Meeks

Wilhelmine Meeks, 78, of Clarksville died Thursday, Oct. 5, 2000, at AMI St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville.
She was a daughter of the late Paul and Fredia Benz, Lutheran, and was preceded in death by two brothers, Max and Paul Benz.
Survivors include her husband, Larry Meeks; two sons, Paul and Raymond Reeder, both of Texas; one sister, Dora Benz of Germany; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating.

Viola C. Thronebury

Viola C. Thronebury, 94, of Lenexa, Kan., died Sunday, Oct. 8, 2000, at Overland Park, Kan.
She was a former resident of Clarksville, daughter of the late William H. and Margaret Self Wheeler, widow of Silas Thronebury, and member of the Freewill Baptist Church.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and James Tumbleson of Lenexa, Kan., and Barbara and Cletus Yarbrough of Winston, Ore.; one son and two daughters-in-law, Johnnie and Delta Thronebury of Grandview, Mo., and Daisy Thronebury of Arcadia, Fla.; three brothers, George Wheeler of Jasper, Gene Wheeler of Western Grove, and Grady Wheeler of Merriam, Kan.; 19 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and 21 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13, at Roller-Cox Chapel with burial in the Minnow Creek cemetery.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Alta Mae Mosley

Alta Mae Carlton Mosley, 72, of Clarksville died Friday, Sept. 29, 2000, at her home.
She was a daughter of the late Columbus Franklin and Cleo Ann Neal Carlton, widow of Wilson Henry Mosley, member of the Clarksville First Freewill Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by one daughter, Peggy Ann Mosley; seven half-brothers; and four half-sisters.
She is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Mrs. David (Karen) Langdon of Clarksville, Kathy and Gerald Bartlett of Coal Hill, and Kim and Bill Vogt of London; four sisters, Alma Batchelder of Anderson, Calif., Barbara Perkey of Lenoir City, Tenn., Jane Pickett of Clarksville, and Linda Seals of Coal Hill; five brothers, Toy Vaughn and Bennie Carlton, both of Clarksville, Lawrence Carlton of Salus, and Lowell Carlton and Frank Carlton, both of Ozone; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 2, at the Clarksville First Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Clayton Rylee officiating.
Burial was in the Shady Grove cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers were Jeremy Carlton, Jason Carlton, Sonny Carlton, John Carlton, Darin Vaughn, and John Schuh.
Honorary pallbearers were Gerald Bartlett, Bill Vogt, and Michael Barnes.
Memorials may be made to the Clarksville First Freewill Baptist Church or the Johnson County Hospice.
