Elizabeth Ragsdale
Elizabeth Ragsdale, 80, of Hagarville died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2000, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a daughter of the late William M. and Evoline Little Sheppard.
Survivors include her husband, William C. Ragsdale; one sister, Ruth Whipple of El Paso, Texas; one half-sister, Ova Stalcup of Oklahoma; four nieces, Elizabeth Wietstock of Federal Way, Wash., Amelia Hunt of Salinas, Calif., Jessie Mae Brown of Clarksville and Evelyn Sheppard of Washington, Calif.; and two nephews, Gregg Sheppard and David Sheppard, both of Florida.
Graveside services and burial will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4, at the Hagarville cemetery with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Joe Hicks
Joe Hicks, 62, of Hagarville died Monday, Oct. 2, 2000, at his home.
Survivors include his widow, Joyce Pitts Hicks; one daughter and son-in-law, Rita and Larry Spellman of Canon City, Colo.; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Donny and Denise Hicks, Coy and Betty Hicks, and Doyle Hicks, all of Lamar, and Jerry and Kara Hicks of Hagarville; two brothers, Scottie Hicks and Loren White, both of Hagarville; and ten grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4, at Union cemetery at Mt. Levi with Rev. Donald Carey officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Muldoon, Quinton Hughes, Gary Clayton, Dean Cowell, David Domerese, Chuck Hughes, Burley Shook, and Mike Sanders.
Lucille Hudson
Lucille Hudson, 85, of Clarksville died Sunday, Oct. 1, 2000, at AMI St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville.
She was a native of Lamar, daughter of the late Waddie J. and Minnie Lee Ramseur Bishop, member of the First Baptist Church for 69 years and the Bethany Sunday School Class, charter member of Harmony Order of the Eastern Star, and was preceded in death by three brothers, Barney Bishop, Carl Bishop, and Dick Bishop; and three sisters, Bessie Bishop, Florence Hudson, and Birdie Dickerson.
Survivors include her husband, Reece Hudson; one daughter and son-in-law, Mary Lou and David Hyde of Russellville; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Robert E. Hudson of Clarksville and Jimmy and Carol Hudson of Athens, Texas; four grandchildren, Brian Hudson and wife, Dawn, of Henderson, Texas, Lisa Colley of Montgomery, Texas, and Kelly Hyde and Lindsay Hyde, both of Russellville; and three great-grandchildren, James Reece Hudson of Henderson, Texas, and Kate and Riley Colley of Montgomery, Texas.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4, at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Usery and Dr. Robert Brown officiating.
Burial will be in Woodland cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers will be Harold Cater, Raymond Hudson, Dr. Jack Patterson, John Crockett, Mike Jacobs, and Julius Moody.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Bethany Sunday School Class and the Trail Blazers Sunday School Class.

Mary Ellen Pierce
Mary Ellen Dowdy Pierce, 80, of Clarksville died Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2000, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was the widow of William E. Pierce, daughter of the late Preston C. and Dora Russell Dowdy, a Baptist, and was preceded in death by one son, Edwin Jerald Pierce; one sister, Martha Jane Smith; and four brothers, Leroy Dowdy, Elvis Frost, Luther Frost and Eugene Dowdy.
She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Ann Hahn of Clarksville and Bonita Loraine Shields of Paragould; one son, Martin Franklin Pierce of St. Jacob, Ill.; two stepdaughters, Freida Pierce of Hornersville, Mo., and Betty June Blosser of Bridgman, Mich.; one stepson, Carl Pierce of Hornersville, Mo.; three sisters, Joyce Dowdy Moore, Gladys Dowdy Christon and Ruth Frost Merritt, all of Flint, Mich.; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, at Lulu Baptist Church in Senath, Mo., with Rev. Doug Clinton officiating. Burial was in Lulu cemetery in Senath, Mo. Arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Cassidy Brooke Talley
Cassidy Brooke Talley, infant daughter of Scott and Paula Talley of Clarksville, died Saturday, Sept. 23, 2000, at AMI St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Rusty Talley.
Other survivors include two sisters, Brittany Nicole Young and Allison Alexis Nordin, both of the home; one brother, Dusty Joe Talley of Hartman; grandparents, Johnny and Mary Schuh of Clarksville and Joe and Nila Talley of Commanche, Okla.; and great-grandparents, Lula Schuh of Clarksville and Ben and Bessie Rowbotham of Lamar.
Graveside services and burial were at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 25, at the Holman cemetery with Rev. Vernon Bass officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Danny Allen Moore
Danny Allen Moore, 61, of Plainview died Saturday, Sept. 23, 2000, in Clarksville.
A native of Dardanelle, he was a son of the late Heartsill Moore, Navy veteran, retired truck driver, and member and past president of the Dardanelle Motorcycle Club.
Survivors include four daughters and three sons-in-law, Danette and Michael Grant of Pottsville, and Ginger and Thomas Damon, Brandie and Don Grace, and Katie Moore, all of Clarksville; mother, Virginia Barnett Moore of Dardanelle; four sisters, Sandra Boles of Little Rock, Cathy Patton and Cece Hennigh, both of Yukon, Okla., and Louise Fox of Broomfield, Colo.; three brothers, Ragan Moore of Oklahoma City, Okla., Gary Moore of Cushing, Okla., and Barry Moore of Edmond, Okla.; and eight grandchildren, Joshua, Blake and Hannah Crites, Joseph and Nickolas Grant, Derrick and Megan Damon, and Skylr Moore.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26, at Cornwell Chapel in Dardanelle with Rev. Robbie Jackson and Rev. Floyd Erwin officiating. Burial was in Brearley cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Ragan Moore, Gary Moore, Barry Moore, Mike Allen, Steve Allen, Chad Allen, Mark Hamilton, and Joshua Crites.
Honorary pallbearers were Steve Smith, Jimmy Solley, Mitch Forrest, Troy Lee Forrest, Clayton McAnally, Carry Reynolds, and Richard Smith.
Gilbert Rofkahr
Gilbert Rofkahr, 59, of Altus, father of Melissa Robinson and Mark Rofkahr, both of Coal Hill, died Friday, Sept. 22, at the Veterans Hospital in Fayetteville.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and was preceded in death by his wife, Greta Rofkahr; one son, Eric Rofkahr; one brother, Ferd Rofkahr Jr.; and one sister, Helen Bramblett.
Other survivors include two sisters, Geraldine Leding of Altus and Mildred Baumgartner of Scranton; two brothers, Julius Rofkahr and Gervase Rofkahr, both of Altus; and five grandchildren.
Rosary was at 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 24, at Shaffer Funeral Home in Ozark. Funeral was at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 25, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with burial in St. Mary's cemetery in Altus.
Pallbearers were Jim Rofkahr, Ricky Leding, Albert Leding, Bruce Baumgartner, Randy Baumgartner, and Ted Skolari.
Naomi Hardin Deaver
Naomi Hardin Deaver, 77, of Fort Smith died Thursday, Sept. 21, 2000, in Fort Smith.
She was a ward secretary for Johnson Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include her husband, Alan Deaver; three sisters, Mary Price and Juanita Lewis, both of Oblong, Ill., and Nina Stevenson of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; two brothers, John Jones of Wilson, N. C., and James Jones of Hammond, Ind.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The body will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date in Oblong, Ill. Arrangements are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
