Mrs. Jewell Reynolds
Mrs. Jewell D. Reynolds, 64, of Clarksville died Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2000, at her home.
She was a daughter of the late Les and Florence Lingo Denhum and a nurse's aide.
Survivors include her husband, Bob Reynolds; five daughters, Gail Britt, Tracy Barton and Judy Jenkins, all of Clarksville, Darla Arvisor of Los Banos, Calif., and Becky Martin of Brookville, Pa.; three sons, David Gibbs and Kenny Gibbs, both of Los Banos, Calif., and Bobby Reynolds of Brookville, Pa.; one brother, Benny Henson of Los Banos, Calif.; 15 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 14, at Roller-Cox Chapel. The body will be cremated.
Mrs. Anna C. Hodges
Mrs. Anna L. Collins Hodges, 74, of Lamar died Sunday, July 30, 2000, at St. Vincent Infirmary in Little Rock.
A native of Goodlett, Texas, she was a daughter of the late King and Abby Roulston Collins, a Baptist, and was preceded in death by one son, Ronnie Hodges.
Survivors include her husband, T. R. Hodges; three sons, Terry Robert Hodges of Lamar, Kelly Hodges of Dover, and Randy Hodges of Fremont, Ohio; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 3, at Humphrey Funeral Service Chapel in Russellville.
The body will be cremated.
Bobby D. Hylton
Bobby D. Hylton, 50, of Clarksville died Friday, July 28, 2000, at St. Joe Hospital in Hot Springs.
He was a son of the late Willie and Bessie Hatchett Hylton, member of Mt. Vernon Church, employed as a contractor cement finisher, and was preceded in death by two sisters, Hazel Sears and Anita Bible; and one brother, Jimmy Wayne Hylton.
Survivors are his widow, Linda Cordry Hylton; six daughters, Chrissy Holt and Leann Aitchison, both of Clarksville, Chandra Hylton of Ozone, and Kaitlin Hylton, Brittany Vaught, and Jessica Powers of the home; two sons, James Robert Hylton of Russellville and Chad Sage of Alix; four sisters, Glenda Glasscock of Clarksville, Rita Born of Knoxville, Betty Brown of Washington, and Janice Burns of Amarillo, Texas; two brothers, Michael Hylton of Arkoma, Okla., and Jerry Hylton of Clarksville; and seven grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 1, at the Mt. Vernon cemetery with Rev. Bob Holt officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers were Clinton Holland, Wayne Pratt, Steve Fetters, Raymond Young, James Walker, and Leonard Kimbriel.
Honorary pallbearers were Junior Young and Mike Moreland.
Edward Leon Smith
Edward Leon Smith, 86, of Canton, Texas, formerly of Oark, died Friday, July 21, 2000, in Kaufman, Texas.
A native of Shell Knob, Mo., he was a retired rancher and residential building contractor.
Survivors include his widow, Eunice Smith; two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Lana Smith of Canton, Texas, and Pat and Linda Smith of Cleburne, Texas; one daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Buford Williams of Oark; two brothers, Ivan Smith of Hot Springs and Paul Smith of Burleson, Texas; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Monday, July 24, at Laurel Land of Burleson Chapel with burial in Moore Memorial Gardens in Arlington, Texas.
Frank R. Laster
Frank R. Laster, 91, of the Harmony Community died Friday, July 28, 2000, at Lamar.
He was a son of the late Frank Anderson and Bertha Virginia King Laster, member of the Harmony Presbyterian Church, and a retired farmer.
He is survived by two sons, James R. Laster and Ronald K. Laster, both of Clarksville; one sister, Virginia Lou Williams of West Columbia, Texas; and four grandchildren, Kathryn K. Laster of Dallas, Texas, Allison A. Laster of Fairbanks, Alaska, Robert L. Laster of Clarksville, and Scott D. Trimble of Fort Worth, Texas.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Monday, July 31, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rev. Bill Woodard officiating. Burial was in Harmony cemetery.
Pallbearers were Abe Laster Jr., Hall Garrett, Donald Meek, Phillip Dean Pierson, Wendell Self, and Bill Porter.
Mrs. Inell B. Newland
Mrs. Inell B. Newland, 84, of Zanesville, Ohio, died Wednesday, July 26, 2000, at Genesis-Good Samaritan Campus.
A native of Lamar, she was a daughter of the late Lewis and Lou Keller Thomas, widow of John D. Newland, and had been residing in Ohio since 1950. She was preceded in death by one son, Lewis Wayne Newland; daughter-in-law, Yvonne Newland; one sister, Beulah Cox; and one brother, Larry H. Thomas.
She is survived by one daughter and spouse, Shirley A. and Louie Rice of South Zanesville, Ohio; six sons and spouses, Dean Newland and Phillip Newland, both of McConnelsville, Ohio, John R. and Linda Newland and Joe and Sherry Newland, all of Philo, Ohio, Tom and Beth Newland of Zanesville, Ohio, and Robert D. and Donna Newland of Ball, La.; one daughter-in-law, Grace Newland of Zanesville, Ohio; 17 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three step grandchildren; and two step great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 29, at William Thompson and Son Funeral Home in White Cottage, Ohio, with Rev. Larry Farus officiating. Burial was in Duncan Falls cemetery.
James Roger Wollenberg
James Roger Wollenberg, 81, of Falls Church, Va., father of Edward R. Wollenberg of Clarksville, died Monday, July 24, 2000.
He was a founding partner of the law firm of Wilmer, Cutler and Pickering of Washington, D. C. During his career as a communications lawyer, he argued before the Supreme Court seven times. He was also active in local government having served on the Falls Church School Board, eight years as chairman.
Survivors include two other sons, Peter Wollenberg of St. Louis, Mo., and Christoper Wollenberg of Falls Church, Va.; two daughters, Meredith Morrison of Falls Church, Va., and Pamela Wollenberg of St. Louis, Mo.; and five grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, at George Mason High School in Falls Church, Va.
Mrs. Miriam F. Moore
Mrs. Miriam Francis Moore, 71, of Clarksville died Saturday, July 29, 2000.
She was a daughter of the late Roberta Risley Smith and Thomas Frances Hawk, widow of William F. Moore, member of the Ludwig Extension Homemakers Club, and a retired University of the Ozarks employee.
She is survived by one daughter, Margie Fay Moore of Clarksville; one son, Tom Moore of Clarksville; and three grandchildren, Rebecca Miriam Moore, Elizabeth Anne Moore and Billie Carlen Moore, all of Clarksville.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, July 31, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Joe Hoing and Rev. Amos Pledger officiating. Burial was in Houston cemetery at Alix.
Pallbearers were Joe Hoing, Sammy Davis, Steve Rinke, James Holloway, Greg Phillips, and Dr. Robert Fraser.
Mrs. Mary B. Manley
Mrs. Mary Banasky Manley, 85, of Clarksville died Thursday, July 27, 2000, in Little Rock.
A native of Clarksville, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Gene Kemp Banasky, widow of Dr. Robert H. Manley, and a member of the Clarksville First United Methodist Church, Fellowship Sunday School Class, Love/Joy Circle, Laureate Kappa Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, TTT, and several bridge clubs.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Jon Wolfe of Little Rock; and one grandson, Robert Wolfe of Little Rock.
Funeral was at 11 a.m. Monday, July 31, at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Victor H. Nixon officiating.
Burial was in Oakland cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Lee White, Garner Lee Taylor, Ron Taylor, Jimmy Harold Lewis, Gary Denton, and Turner Whitson.
