Fernie Davidson
Fernie Davidson, 94, of Ozark died Wednesday, July 19, 2000, at Ozark Nursing Home.
She was a daughter of the late Arvil and Ann Wood Dake, native of Enterprise, retired cook, and member of Calvary Baptist Church in Ozark.
She is survived by two nieces, Loyzelle Hamilton of Tulsa, Okla., and Don Anna Reece of Benton.
Graveside services and burial were at 10 a.m. Friday, July 21, at Highland cemetery in Ozark with Rev. Ted Darling officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home.
Frank J. Willems
Frank J. Willems, 81, of Paris died Friday, July 14, 2000, at his home.
He served as state representative for Logan County and parts of Johnson County from 1972 to his retirement in 1999. He was reelected 12 times to the Legislature only once with opposition. He was chairman of the House Audit Committee and Southern Legislators Energy Conference. He was instrumental in having Mount Magazine declared a state park.
He served on the board of directors of North Logan County Hospital, St. Edward Mercy Medical Center in Fort Smith and the Florence Crittendon Home for women and children and for the Area Agency on Aging. He also served as president of Logan County Farmer's Cooperative for several years and served on the President's Council of Subiaco Abbey.
He was a son of the late John and Anna Guenther Willems, member of St. Benedict's Parish in Subiaco where he served as Eucharistic Minister, third degree Knight of Columbus, and a member of the Kiwanis Club and St. Benedict's Men's Society.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Regina Lensing Willems; four daughters and sons-in-law, Dolores and Mike Hofrichter and Ramona and Harold Keizer of Fort Smith, Mary and Joe Eckart and Roseann and Nick Kennedy of Russellville, and Joan and Wayne Davis of Melissa, Texas; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Dennis and Norma Willems and John Willems of Paris and Michael and Cathy Willems of Searcy; one sister, Anna Marie Kloke of Tucson, Ariz.; five brothers, Aloys of Milwaukee, Wis., John of Mountain Home, and Ophelia Manus, Thurman Manus, and Haskell Manus; 35 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Rosary was at 7:30 p.m. Monday, July 17, at St. Benedict's Church. Funeral was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 18, at St. Benedict's Church in Subiaco.
Active pallbearers were grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers were members of St. Benedict's Society.
Memorials may be made to the Frank and Regina Willems Scholarship Fund at Subiaco Academy.
Gordon Parker
Gordon Dean Parker, 44, of Van Buren died Friday, July 14, 2000, at his home.
A former resident of Johnson County, he was a son of the late John Gordon Parker and self-employed as a wallpaper hanger.
Survivors include three daughters, Jill Ann Millsap of Ozark, Heidi Parker of Van Buren and Chrystal Stedman of Waldron; mother, Mrs. Euticha Gregory Parker of Van Buren; six sisters, Bea Kirkendall of Van Buren, Alfreda Covert of Altus, Alice Fancher, Wanda Rainey and Pauline King, all of Clinton, and Geneva Scott of Paris; and six grandchildren, Kaley Raquel Morse, Logan Beneux and Milo Parker, all of Van Buren, Sarah and Dylan Stedman of Waldron, and Jonathan Millsap.
Graveside services and burial were at 2 p.m. Monday, July 17, at the Jackson cemetery near Ozark with Rev. Bob White officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.
Pallbearers were brothers-in-law.
Mrs. Inez Fons
Mrs. Inez Fons, 89, of Clarksville died Tuesday, July 18, 2000, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a daughter of the late William Andrew and Mary Etta Smith Dobbs, widow of Steve Fons, member of Grace Lutheran Church and Lutheran Women's Missionary League, and a retired restaurant employee.
She is survived by one brother, Raymond Dobbs of Oklahoma City, Okla.; and several nephews and nieces including Faye James of Clarksville.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 20, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rev. Darrell Kobs officiating. Burial was in Woodland cemetery.
Pallbearers were Leo Knoernschild, Edmund Drittler, Don Langdon, Jimmy Goodin, Arnold Kreipke, and Herman Ahrens.
Mrs. Lillie Emma Land
Mrs. Lillie Emma Self Land, 89, died June 7, 2000, in Morton, Wash.
A native of Clarksville, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Maude Self, widow of John Broach, Earl Spitler, and Lee Land, and was preceded in death by three sisters, Beatrice King, Laura Bradley, and Charlie Buckner, all of Clarksville.
She is survived by one daughter, Emma Laytart of Toledo, Ohio; three sons, John Broach of Eagle River, Alaska, Robert Hetwick of Port Clinton, Ohio, and Harold Broach of Lake Worth, Fla.; two sisters, Martha Esma Simmons of Emmett, Idaho, and Gladys Wirth of Brogan, Ore.; one brother, Ferrol Self of Scottsburg, Ore.; 16 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and several step grandchildren.
Funeral was held at Morton Chapel of Brown Mortuary Service in Washington with private inurnment at Stillwell cemetery near Clarksville.
Mrs. Lois McCormick
Mrs. Lois Madgie Tollison McCormick, 65, of Ozark died Monday, July 24, 2000, at Ozark.
She was a self-employed roofing contractor, daughter of the late Jessie Lee Tollison and Willie Trenton Patillo, and was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Carrie Carpenter.
Survivors include her husband, Herman Richard McCormick; two daughters, Brenda Kay Penepent of Russellville and Donna Lynne Thomas of Denning; two sons, Ricky Dale McCormick of Lamar and Timmy Wayne McCormick of Fayetteville; four sisters, Agnes Taylor of Alamogordo, N. M., Juanita Lomax of Imperial, Calif., Myrtle Watts of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Ann Idler of Spokane, Wash.; one brother, Frank Tollison of Hartman; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 26, at Denning United Methodist church with Rev. Ted Darling officiating.
Burial will be in Belt cemetery at Ozark under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers will be Bobby McCormick, Ray Qualls, Johnny Ray McCormick, Johnny Ray McCormick Jr., Buddy Pledger, and Russell Schaffer.
Honorary pallbearers will be Steven Fraiser and David Mainard.
Richard (Dick) Lloyd
Funeral for Richard (Dick) Lloyd, 81, of Russellville, who died Sunday, July 23, 2000, at Stella Manor Nursing Center, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 27, at Second Baptist Church with Rev. David McLemore officiating.
The family will receive friends following the memorial service at the church.
Private burial will be in Oakland cemetery at Clarksville under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.

A son of the late Jackson and Mamie Ingalls Lloyd, he was a U. S. Navy veteran of World War II, retired businessman, member of Second Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Kathryn Foulke Lloyd.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Jack Jones of Russellville and Anne and John Dickson of Marietta, Ga.; five grandchildren, Sherri England, Angie Harris, Christopher Dickson, John David Jones, and Tiffany Schwartz; and nine great-grandchildren.
Samuel R. Lemon
Samuel R. Lemon, 70, of Clarksville died Saturday, July 22, 2000, at his home.
He was a native of Lepanto, son of the late William A. and Willa Harten Maddox Lemon, member of First Baptist Church, graduate of Mississippi State University in Starkville, Air Force veteran of the Korean War, and former owner of Oklahoma Tire and Supply in Magnolia and L & L Bike Center in Clarksville.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Polly Kraus Lemon; one daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Darin Landreth of Springdale; one son and daughter-in-law, John and Laura Lemon of Clarksville; two sisters, Oska Potter of New York and Isabell Clem of Lepanto; one brother, Wayne Lemon of San Juan Capistrano, Calif.; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, July 24, at First Baptist Church with Dr. Robert Brown and Rev. Billy Usery officiating.
Burial was in Oakland cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
