Mildred L. Taylor, 71, of Russellville, died Sunday, Dec. 3, 2006, at the UAMS in Little Rock.
She was born June 9, 1935, at Pottsville to Franklin Fate and Essie Ethel Jones Beaver.
She operated service stations in Russellville with her late husband, Alvis Marion "Junior" Taylor Jr.. She attended the Pottsville Assembly of God where she was active in the children's ministry.
She was preceded in death by parents; her husband; and her daughter, Marian Lynnette Renfroe.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Marjeana Taylor of Pottsville; a brother, James Beaver of Little Rock; a sister, Ethel Hubbard of Russellville; seven grandchildren, Josh Renfroe of Russellville, Jeremy Renfroe of Selma, Ala., Shawn Clayton of Pottsville, Deidra and Brandy McDaniel of Burleson, Texas, LaRanda Reed of Benton, and Allen Engel of Russellville; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10 A.M., Thursday, Dec. 7, 2006, at the Pottsville Assembly of God officiated by the Rev. Larry Horn and the Rev. David Owens. Burial will be in Pisgah Cemetery at Pottsville under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 6:30 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.

Walter Martin
Walter H. Martin, 97, of London, died Friday, Dec. 1, 2006, at his home.
He was born March 12, 1909, at Ochelata, Okla. to William Henry and Ollie Josephine Barrick Martin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Orpha "Jean" Martin; a son, Walter Howard Martin Jr.; and a daughter, Josie Ann Martin.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, James and Jane Martin of Salt Lake City, Utah; a daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Eddie Reynolds of London; two step sons and step daughters-in-law, Gary and Rachel Tuck of Scranton and Emmitt and Joann Bowen of Clinton; a step daughter and step son-in-law, Marsha Tuck and Bill Warnick of Russellville; a sister-in-law, Lillian Stracener of San Angelo, Texas; 13 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday at the Shinn Chapel officiated by the Rev. Johnny Whorton. Burial with military honors, provided by the V. F. W. Rogers-Rye Post 2283, was in Oakland Cemetery at Russellville, under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service.

Angie Keener
Frances Angelique "Angie" Keener, 46, of Dover died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2006. She was born Sept. 9, 1960 in Russellville to William Paul and Frances Kay Pyle Keener. She was a member of the First Baptist Church at Inola, Okla. And was a cheerleader and majorette while attending high school in Dardanelle.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Kay Keener.
Survivors include her daughter, Dangie Kay Wingo of Dover; son, Michael Paul Parks of Dardanelle; father, William Paul Keener of Inola, Okla.; brother, Paul Keener of Russellville, sister, Ella Jayne Keener of Dover; numerous other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2006, at 2 p.m. at Cornwell Chapel in Dardanelle with Pastor Jared Higginbotham officiating.
Pallbearers include: Rusty Keener, Shay Maggard, Roy Pyle, Joe Lynch, Michael Paul Parks and Chris Wingo.

Stanford Lee
Stanford Lee, 87, of Russellville, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2007, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville.
The son of Ray Lee, Sr. and Alta Blaylock Lee, he was born Oct. 12, 1920, in Russellville. He was a United States Army Veteran of World War II. Following the war, Stanford worked in the family's lumber business hauling stave bolts out of the mountains of Pope County. He also ran a bus line between Russellville and Dardanelle and a house-moving business for many years. He was elected to the office of Pope County Tax Assessor in 1966, serving until his retirement in 1988. He served as President of the Arkansas Tax Assessor's Association, was a member of the National Speakers Association, Russellville Noon Rotary Club and the Riggs-Hamilton Post of the American Legion. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church where he taught Sunday school for 35 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Zilphia J. Rauhoff Lee; his parents; a brother, Ray Lee, Jr. and two sisters, Sarah Radcliffe and Alta Ruth Lee.
Survivors include three sons, Dennis and Sonya Lee of Fort Smith, Paul Lee of Russellville, and Tony and Pam Lee of Russellville; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; two brothers, David Lee of Russellville and J.W. Lee of Clarksville; and a sister, Rebecca Stacy of Fort Smith.
Funeral services were Friday at First Assembly of God in Russellville. Rev. Keith Underhill officiated. Burial was at Oakland Cemetery at Russellville by Humphrey Funeral Service.

Lt. Col. Glenn Novak
Lt. Col. Glenn O. Novak, USAF Retired, 83, of Dover, died Sunday, Dec. 9, 2007, at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville.
A son of the late Fred W. and Laura Inez Talich Novak, he was born Oct. 14, 1924, in Bijou Hills, S.D. He was a 27-year veteran of the United States Air Force, having served during World War II, the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War training pilots. Following his retirement he became a cattle rancher and was a former member of the Cattlemen's Association and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He enjoyed flying, and enjoyed his cattle.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Leota Fugman.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Dorothy M. Muth Novak; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Garret J. and Regina Novak of Russellville and Gordon A. Novak of Dover; two daughters and a son-in-law, Judith Ann Murphy of Dover and Victoria Lee and Marc Pacheco of Phoenix, Ariz.; nine grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
The graveside service and Burial will be conducted by Shinn Funeral Service at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 13, at McFadden Cemetery at Dover, officiated by Chaplain Jeffery Scott. Military honors will be provided by the United States Air Force.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 5 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
James Gateley
James N. Gateley, 90, of Atkins, died Sunday, Dec. 9, 2007, at Little Rock.
He was born July 29, 1917, in Dardanelle and was the son of the late Robert D. and Eunice Nolen Gateley.
He was a member of VFW Post 5223, 60 years member of the Atkins Masonic Lodge, attended the Union Grove Free Will Baptist Church and a five-year World War II Navy veteran.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers and a son.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Gateley; a stepson and daughter-in-law, Robert and Lisa Shoptaw of Little Rock; stepdaughter and son-in-law, Annette and Don Cline of Dardanelle; sister and brother-in-law, Corrine and Cory "Bird" Burnett, Jr. of Atkins; six step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, at Union Grove Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. David Bishop and Rev. Bob Alexander officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery near Atkins by Lemley Funeral Service.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday.
Pallbearers will be Gary Hager, Blake Smith, Bob Burnett, Jim Burnett, Jeff Small and Rick Hern.

D. A. Ashcraft
D. A. Ashcraft, 67, of Dover, died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2004, at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock.
A son of the late Luther Horace and Burley Vay Hamilton Ashcraft, he was born March 22, 1937, at Adona. He retired from the Arkansas Tech University farm where he worked as a farm manager. He also did carpentry, plumbing and electrical work.
Survivors include his wife, Mae Ashcraft; four sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmie and Debbie Ashcraft of Sedalia, Mo., Jody and Kathleen Ashcraft of Port Allen, La., Jeff and Kim Ashcraft of Dover, and Jessie and Cynthia Ashcraft of Russellville; two daughters and a son-in-law, Deborah and Wesley Davis of Dardanelle, and Delaine Ashcraft of Dover; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Harvey and Elsie Ashcraft of Little Rock, and Robert and Josie Ashcraft of Nevada; a sister and brother-in-law, Melva and John Bird of Atkins; twenty grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Saturday, at the Shinn Chapel by Rev. Tommy Teague and Harold Davis. Burial was in Rest Haven Memorial Park, by Shinn Funeral Service.

Lesia Etchberger
Lesia Elaine Etchberger, 43, of Dothan, Ala., formerly of Russellville, died Thursday, Dec. 9, 2004, at her home.
A daughter of the late Dorthy Lee Linger Richardson, she was born March 1, 1961, at Dumas, Texas. She spent much of her early life in Dumas, and moved to Dothan from Russellville in 1990. She was the owner and operator of Lesia E’s Nail Salon and Seaside Tans, and later operated Threaded Memories prior to her recent illness. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include her husband, Tom Etchberger; three sons, Shawn Johnson of Camp Lejeune, NC, and Noble Etchberger and Quyinten Etchberger, both of Dothan; her father, Frank Richardson of Russellville; a brother, James Curtis Richardson of Pensacola, Fla.; three sisters, Linda Milburn and Venita Richardson, both of Dumas, and Shirley Ann Magness of Russellville; and six nephews and nieces, James Curtis Richardson, Robin Milburn, Jarod Milburn, Rusti Milburn , LeeOla Magness and Airell Magness.
Funeral services were Tuesday, at the Shinn Chapel by Rev. Jared Higginbotham. Entombment in the mausoleum of Rest Haven Memorial Park followed with arrangements by Shinn Funeral Service.
Vida Cravens
Vida Taylor Cravens, 84, of Morrilton, went to be with her Lord, Monday, Dec. 13, 2004.
She was born Jan. 7, 1920, in Atkins, a daughter of William J. Taylor and Georgia E. Bartlett Taylor.
Mrs. Cravens was a loving and caring woman and a faithful member of First Presbyterian Church for 58 years. During that time she served as the church treasurer for 30 years, choir member, past Sunday school teacher of the Men’s Bible Class, an elder of the Church, a life member of the Presbyterian Women, and past treasuruer of the Presbyterian Women Day Circle. She was also a member and past treasurer of the Literary Coterie Club. Mrs. Cravens truly lover her Lord, family and her church.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Ira, Herbert, and Lyle Taylor; two infant sisters, Clara and Myrtle Taylor.
Survivors include her niece, Betty Daily and her husband, Gene of Maumelle; two nephews and their wives, Donald and Betty Taylor of Morrilton and Billy and Jeanie Taylor of Russellville; six great-nieces and four great nephews.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 16, at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Gail R. Perkins officiating. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton.
Pallbearers will be Bryce Mobley, Todd Rasmussen, Baxter Sudduth, Brink Butler, Bill Cheek, and Jim Johnson. Honorary pallbeaers will be Oren Oates, Charles Jackson, Bill Matthews, and Bill Gunderman.

Donald Billings
Donald M. Billings, 83, of Atkins, died Friday, Nov. 26, 2004 at his home in Atkins.
He was born Oct. 8, 1921, in Arkansas City, Kan. and was the son of the late Thomas M. and Sadie Sweeney Billings.
He married Betty Jean Ward on Dec. 31, 1945. He enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps in 1941 and flew 32 combat missions over Europe. He was trained as a radio operator and gunner. After the war, he joined the Federal Aviation Administration (then the CAA) where he was an air traffic controller in Van Nuys, San Francisco, Calif.; and Albuquerque, NM.; Plainview, Texas; Wake Island and finally Pine Bluff. After opening up the tower for operations in Pine Bluff, he retired to Atkins and attended Petit Jean Vo-Tech. Don worked for Dardanelle Printers as a pressman. He was a member of the Atkins United Methodist Church, Atkins Lions Club, VFW, and member of the 44th Bomb Group Association.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Betty Jean Billings.
Survivors include two sons, Sheldon F. Thomson II of Arlington, Texas and James Billings of Atkins; two daughters, Cheryl Lynn Cornelius of Plainview, Texas, and Mary Ellen White of Colorado Springs, Co.; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m., Dec. 4, 2004 at the Atkins United Methodist Church by Lemley Funeral Service with the Reverend Robert Woody officiating.
Pallbearers will be Larry Carter, James Teal, Angel Diaz, Larry Wiley, Floyd Fryer, and Elmo Bizzell.

Stella Opal Grice
Stella Opal Grice, 92, of Hector, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Nov. 26, 2004.
She was born Oct. 9, 1912, in Seymour, Texas, and lived in Texas for 52 years before moving to Hector in 1964. She retired at the age of 63 from the Pope County Health Department in Russellville.
She attended First Assembly of God Church in Hector for 40 years, where she was a Sunday School teacher, church organist, and held ladies’ and youth Bible studies in her home. She was her family’s prayer warrior all her life.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Horace Alexander Grice; her parents, B.F. and Mattie Young Malone; three brothers, Cecil, Ernest and Barney Malone; and two sisters, Edith Hendrix and Pearl Sauls.
She is survived by one sister, Marie Grice, of Gresham, Or.; two daughters, Donna Grice, and Peggy Grice Carruth and her husband, Alvin Carruth, all of Hector. Here also to hold her memory forever in their hearts are her grandchildren, A.L. “Buzz” Carruth, and wife, Catherine, of Arlington, Texas, Mike Carruth, and wife, Dena, of Rockwall, Texas, Sue Carruth Langford, and husband, Jack, of Millington, Tenn., and Stella “Dee” Carruth Tharp, and husband, Jeff, of Russellville, and forever to be known as “Gram” to 10 great-grandchildren and two great great-grandsons.
Private intermenty will be held at Cross Roads Cemetery, Hector. A Memorial Service will be held at Hector First Assembly of God, Dec. 1, 2004 at 10 a.m. followed by a time of visitation with the family in the fellowship hall.

Mary Parks, 68, of Dardanelle, died Saturday, Nov. 27, 2004, at her home.
A daughter of the late William and Cora Story Tackett, she was born Aug. 9, 1936, near Russellville. She was a retired nurses’ aide, was a member of the Eastern Star, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies’ Auxiliary and the Faith Church of Dardanelle.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Parks; two sons and daughters-in-law, Dwaine and Kim Millsaps of New Blaine and Charles Edward Parks Jr. and Janet Parks of Dardanelle; a daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Sammy Morden of Cabot; a step-son and step-daughter-in-law, Clyde Randall and Faye Parks of Dardanelle; two brothers, Billy Wayne Tackett of Hector, and Ronald L. Tackett of Russellville; three sisters, Corrine Dare of Russellville, Ethel Pope of Fort Smith, and Wanda Blaylock of Eureka, Calif.; six grandchildren, Dustin Choate of Cabot, Kacey Johnson of Russellville, Chris, Ryan and Brooke Millsaps, all of New Blaine, and Michael Parks of Dardanelle; and two great-grandsons, Joshua Choate of Russellville, and Ryett Choate of Cabot.

Joseph Rayner
Joseph A. Rayner, 40, of Little Rock, died Monday, Nov. 22, 2004.
He was born June 23, 1964, at Little Rock, was the son of George A. and Betty Sue Moore Rayner and he was formerly a truck driver, a roofer and carpenter. He enjoyed camping and fishing with his dad, uncle and cousin. He enjoyed hiking and jogging. He had a very generous spirit and had a magnetic personality.
Survivors are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George A. Rayner of Little Rock and a sister, Pamela Kaye Emerson of Lexington, North Carolina.
Graveside service were Friday at Pisgah Cemetery, in Pottsville, with Rev. Claude Jackson officiating. Burial was under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
Michael Molloy
Michael Lynn Molloy, 51, of Plainview, died Monday, Nov. 29, 2004 at his home.
He was born Jan. 19, 1953, in Yuma, Az. He was the former mayor of Plainview, a member of the Masonic Lodge, a volunteer firefighter, a member of the PoBoy Bass Club and Plainview City Council.
He was preceded in death by his father, Archie Dee Molloy.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn; a son, Johnny Molloy of Plainview; a daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Allen Austin of Gravelly; his mother, Lucille Molloy of Atkins; three granddaughters, Charity Molloy, Michaela Godfrey, and Courtney Austin; two grandsons, Michaela Molloy, and Weston Godfrey; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Ricky and Sandy Molloy of Atkins, Ronnie and Beki Molloy of Appleton; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Brenda Youngman of Bald Knob, Susan and Herbert Hunt of Hector, Marsha and Keith Carr, of Hector and Cindy and Mike Walker of Atkins and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mildred Taylor
Mildred M. Taylor, 82, of Russellville, died Friday, Nov. 26, 2004 at Baptist Medical Center, in Little Rock.
She was born Feb. 23, 1922 in Russellville, was a daughter of the late Bill Lewallen and the late Bessie Emerton Lewallen Parks. She was a member of the Eastern Star and attended the Kelly Heights Baptist Church.
Other than her parents; a brother, Neal Lewallen; a sister, Dorothy Freeman; and her stepfather, Roy Parks, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Allen B. Taylor; a daughter, Shirley Batts of Lakeworth, Texas, to whom she was a loving mother; a brother, Ed Parks of Russellville; two sisters, Wanda Garrett of Pottsville and Maudie Hottinger of Russellville; a granddaughter, Sherri Freeman of Russellville; three great-grandchildren, Joseph Herrera of North Little Rock, Christopher Herrera and Kelly Herrera, of Russellville; three great-great-grandchildren, Taylor Herrera, Adrianna Herrera and Macy Herrera.

Frances Titsworth
Frances Titsworth, 83, of Russellville, died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2004, at the Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock.
A daughter of the late Robert and Carmella Olivia Magnera, she was born Oct. 31, 1921, in Onelock, Iowa. She was the widow of Ralph C. Titsworth Sr., who she married on April 20, 1945, in Reno, Nevada. She was a licensed practical nurse for St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Russellville for 19 ˝ years before her retirement. She was a former member of the Retired Nurses Association and formerly attended St. John’s Catholic Church in Russellville.
In addition to her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by two daughters, Sheila Titsworth and Georgia Bowden; and a brother, Joe Magnera.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Ralph Titsworth of Russellville, and Robbie and Trisha Titsworth of Centerville; five daughters and two sons-in-law, Debbie Hubbard, Denise and Ray Foshee and Melanie Titsworth, all of Russellville, Cheryl and Doug Welch of Pottsville, and Toni Covey of Dardanelle; two sons-in-law, Bill Bowden of Russellville, and Kim Hubbard, formerly of Russellville and now serving in Iraq; an adopted son, Dale Beene of Ranger; her former daughter-in-law, Nancy Titsworth of Russellville; two sisters, Catherine Vassia and Rose Miller, both of Seal Beach, Calif.; twenty-four grandchildren, Sandy Parrish, Eddie, Mark, Mike, Scotty and Donny Bowden, Darlene Halbrooke, Tammi and Francie Titsworth, Rocky Titsworth, Becky Najam, Craig and Jonathan Titsworth, Robin Bunch, Catina Mackey, Brad Hubbard, Darren Sanders, Angel Simpson, Ben and Bethany Welch, Brian and Taylor Foshee, Misty Rose and D. William Bailey
William Robert "Bill" Bailey, 34, of Russellville, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Jan. 27, 2005 at his home.
He was born Feb. 16, 1970, in Dardanelle. He graduated with his bachelor’s degree and his master’s degree from the Pensacola Christian College in Pensacola, Florida, and was employed by Abeka Book Publishing Company in Pensacola as an illustrator and also working in their cabinet shop. He was a former designer for Lamar Advertising in Tallahassee, and worked for Answers in Genesis in Kentucky before moving back to Russellville in October, 2004. After returning to Russellville he worked with his parents at Bailey Machine Shop, and attended the Bible Baptist Church. He loved the freedom of the outdoors, and spent his free time canoeing, hiking and bike riding. He also loved to do open air painting, and has paintings in the Talisman Gallery in Oklahoma. Most of all he loved witnessing to people about his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ragan and Millie Bailey.
Survivors include his parents, James and Judy Bailey of Russellville; two brothers and sisters-in-law, James Ragan Jr. and Kelle Bailey of Dallas, Ga.; and Jonathan Henry and Melanie Bailey of East Greenville, Penn.; four nephews and nieces, Ragan and Tiffany Bailey of Dallas, and Lucas and Jillian Bailey of East Greenville; his maternal grandparents, Dennis H. and Lula Duryea of Russellville; his uncles and aunts, James and Jeanne Duryea of Atkins, Dennis W. and Janet Duryea of Gumlog, David and Betty Duryea and Janie and Chuck Frankhouse, all of Pottsville, Erma Cotton of Russellville, and Jane Barnhouse of Sherwood; and a number of cousins.
Funeral services were Monday at the Shinn Chapel by Rev. Ron Kauffman. Burial was in Bailey Cemetery near Russellville, by Shinn Funeral Service.
Active pallbearers were Danny Wade, Charles Padilla, Terry Bailey, David Bailey, Mickey Bailey and Donnie Bailey. Honorary pallbearers were his brothers, James Ragan Bailey Jr. and Jonathan Henry Bailey.
