Ruby E. Kendall

Ruby E. Kendall, 94, of Clarksville died Monday, April 16, 2001, at Countryside Manor Nursing Home.
A native of Johnson County, she was a daughter of the late John Jacob and Mattie Patterson Bean, widow of Dane Kendall, member of the First Presbyterian Church and Women's Association, and was preceded in death by one daughter, Carolyn Kendall.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services and burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 18, at Oakland cemetery with Rev. Lance Jones officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Thomas C. McCarley

Thomas C. McCarley, 63, of Conway, son of Ellen McCarley of Lamar, died Sunday, April 1, 2001.
He was a truck driver for ADCA.
Other survivors include his widow, Argie Reeves McCarley; four daughters, Debbie King, Patty Sanders, and Angie Rountree, all of Conway, and Pam Lawrence of Vilonia; one brother, Roy McCarley of Sherwood; and five grandchildren.
Funeral was at 3 p.m. Wednesday, April 4, at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home Chapel in Conway with burial in Lamar cemetery.

Appolonia E. Soerries

Appolonia Ehemann Soerries, 100, died Sunday, April 8, 2001, at Franciscan Village Nursing Center in Broken Arrow, Okla.
She was a former resident of Hartman, former member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Hartman, native of Atkins, daughter of the late Benedict and Amelia Barzen Ehemann, widow of Alex J. Soerries Sr., member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of the Americas, and Centenarian Club, Mother-Of-The-Year at Franciscan Village, and Volunteer-Of-The-Year for Meals On Wheels in 1989. She was preceded in death by one son, Alfred B. Soerries; four sisters, Gertrude Post, Amelia Herrman, Marie Soerries, and Theresa Ehemann; and two brothers, Henry Ehemann and Joe Ehemann.
Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Loretta and Donald Plugge of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Mary Ann Soerries of Joplin, Mo.; six sons and five daughters-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Norbert (Norma) Soerries of Tulsa, Okla., Mr. and Mrs. William F. (Mary Ann) Soerries of Pratt, Kan., Rev. Denis Soerries, O.S.B., of Paris, Mr. and Mrs. Alex J. (Carrol) Soerries Jr. of Wichita, Kan., Mr. and Mrs. Matthew H. (Marjorie) Soerries of Granger, Ind., and Mr. and Mrs. Cecil M. (Janie) Soerries of Oklahoma City, Okla.; one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Alfred (Virginia) Soerries; 17 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren.
Recitation of Rosary was at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 10. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 11, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with committal at 4 p.m. in the Sacred Heart cemetery at Hartman with her son, Father Denis Soerries, as the celebrant. Arrangements are under the direction of Ninde Funeral Directors of Tulsa, Okla.
Memorials may be made to Meals On Wheels where she was a volunteer.

Charlie Kirkpatrick

Charlie Kirkpatrick, 83, of Knoxville died Sunday, April 8, 2001, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
A son of the late Lush LuAllen and Manurvie Oakley Kirkpatrick, he was a native of Knoxville, retired farmer, 50-year plus member of the Knoxville Masonic Lodge and a member of the First Baptist Church in Knoxville. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Kirkpatrick; one daughter, Wanda Kirkpatrick; one granddaughter, Korena Kay Kirkpatrick; one brother, Jessie Kirkpatrick; and two sisters, Lucy Selby and Jennie Club.
Survivors include one son, Allen L. Kirkpatrick of Knoxville; one daughter, Charlene Waddell of Florence, Miss.; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 11, at the First Baptist Church in Knoxville with Rev. Euel Don Nordin officiating.
Burial will be in Knoxville cemetery under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
Active pallbearers will be Brian Kirkpatrick, Shawn Kirkpatrick, Jerry Lyn Whorton, Todd Whorton, Jordan Thompson and Roy Lemasters.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Knoxville Masonic Lodge.

Charlotte Looper

Charlotte Looper, 84, of Clarksville died Tuesday, April 3, 2001, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
A native of Omaha, Neb., she was a daughter of the late Charles and Tena Fleck Hime, widow of Virgil L. Looper Sr., member of First Baptist Church and Belle Grove Chapter No. 56 Order of the Eastern Star for 50-plus years, former employee of Johnson County Hospital, and was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Shoeffler.
Survivors include one son, Virgil L. Looper Jr. of Korea; and two grandchildren, Cayle Looper of the U. S. Air Force in London, England and Courtney Looper of Hawaii.
Graveside services and burial were at 10 a.m. Friday, April 6, at Oakland cemetery with Dr. Robert Brown officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Joseph B. Dolgos

Joseph B. Dolgos, 91, of Clarksville died Friday, April 6, 2001, at Countryside Manor Nursing Home.
He was a son of the late Ferenc and Erzsebet Vero Dolgos, native of Ohio, spent 20 years in Hungary before moving to South Bend, Ind., where he was a retired employee of Oliver-White Corporation and later a gardens caretaker at parks and recreation areas in St. Joseph County in South Bend, Ind.
Survivors include his widow, Ella Dolgos; five stepdaughters, Elaine Korn of Fluntain Hills, Ariz., Shirley Caldwell of Clarksville, Bonnie Blake of Champlin, Minn., Gladys Smith of Dowagiac, Mich., and Judith Andrews of Indianapolis, Ind.; one brother, Antol Dolgos of Hungary; 16 step-grandchildren including Brenda Hall of Clarksville; 16 step great-grandchildren; one step great-great-grandchild; one niece, Betty Gerencser of South Bend, Ind.; and one nephew, Joseph Zsedeny of Florida.
The body was cremated. Arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Johnson County Senior Activity Center, 1421 Oakland Street, Clarksville, AR 72830.

Louis Green

Louis Green, 81, of Van Buren, father of Mary Jane Croff of Clarksville, died Wednesday, April 4, 2001.
He was a World War II United States Army veteran and a retired custodian for the Fort Smith Public School System.
Survivors include one other daughter, Linda Tuck of Muldrow, Okla.; four sons, J. C. Green and Bill Green, both of Dyer, Ginny Green of Fort Smith, and Leon Green of Van Buren; one sister, Marie Fant of Fort Smith; 19 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 7, at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial in the Gill cemetery at Van Buren.
Pallbearers were Glen Sherburn, David Horn, Clay Wiley, Mark Moore, Bill Chronister and Danny Robertson.

Lillian P. Rusher

Lillian Pauline (Polly) Rusher, 76, of West Fork died Sunday, April 8, 2001, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville.
A native of Clarksville, she was a daughter of the late Emmet D. and Edith Russel Freeman, and was preceded in death by one sister, Emily Sears.
Survivors include her husband, James H. Rusher; two daughters, Linda G. Pearson of Prairie Grove and Anna K. Riggs of Muskogee, Okla.; one brother, Bobby W. Freeman of Redmond, Okla.; two sisters, Jean Vaughn of Joplin, Mo., and Deanna S. Phillips of Kingsport, Tenn.; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 11, at Beard's Funeral Chapel in Fayetteville. Burial will be in Woodland cemetery north of Clarksville.

Mildred Pauline Phillips

Mildred Pauline Phillips, 75, of Knoxville died Wednesday, April 4, 2001, at her home.
She was a daughter of the late Amos and Bessie Evans Matthew, widow of Jasper Phillips, retired Westinghouse Company employee, and affiliated with the Freewill Baptist Church.
She is survived by three nephews, James M. Matthews, Greg Matthews, and Tim Matthews, all of Jacksonville; one sister-in-law, Virginia Matthews of Jacksonville; and one brother-in-law, Arnel Phillips of North Little Rock.
Graveside services and burial were at 4 p.m. Friday, April 6, at the Holman cemetery with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
