Marilyn M. Young

Marilyn Maxine Young, 55, of Coal Hill died Saturday, April 7, 2001, at a Hot Springs hospital.
She was a member of the Crossroads Assembly of God Church and daughter of the late Vaughn and Virga Patton Wimmer.
Survivors include her husband, Harvey Young; two daughters, Debbie Hunt of Dover and Jennifer Zolliecoffer of Coal Hill; three sons, Martin Boen of Russellville, Jerry Boen of Lamar, and Randy Young of Coal Hill; five sisters, Linda Collins of Coal Hill, Betty Palmer and Lela Potter, both of Washington, Lorene Lemons of Lamar, and Ruth Owens of California; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rev. Gerald Morris officiating. Burial was in Minnow Creek cemetery.
Pallbearers were Mike Holt, Tim Storms, Julius Mayes, Jimmy Sisk, Jeff Holt, Gary Dickerson, Calvin Freeman, and Wendell Freeman.

Charles E. Morris

Charles E. Morris, 84, of Clarksville died Friday, March 23, 2001, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
He was a native of Hagarville, son of the late Edgar and Beulah Ragsdale Morris, member of the First United Methodist Church, Army veteran of World War II, retired civil service employee from Army Depot, and was preceded in death by one brother, Leonard Morris.
He is survived by his widow, Lena Yearwood Morris.
Graveside services and burial were at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 27, at Oakland cemetery with Rev. Lowell Eaton officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Chester D. Wynn

Chester D. Wynn, 87, of Russellville died Sunday, March 25, 2001, at AMI St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville.
A native of Hollister, Okla., he was a son of the late Charles and Clara Belle Mattox Wynn, retired real estate broker, United Farm Agency Agent at Clarksville, president of Herwig Lighting Company, former owner of the Peach Farm on Crow Mountain, member of the Constellation-Edison Park Lodge No. 974 in Arlington Heights, Ill., Scottish Rite Valley in Little Rock, Scimitar Temple of Little Rock, Central Arkansas Shrine Club of Russellville and Russellville Chapter No. 505 Order of the Eastern Star, and attended First United Methodist Church at Russellville.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary L. Wynn; two brothers; and two sisters.
Survivors include his widow, Betty S. Wynn; one son and daughter-in-law, Donald F. and Sherry Wynn of Russellville; one grandson, Brian Wynn of Russellville; one granddaughter and spouse, Tracy and Scott Savage of Russellville; two great-grandchildren, Chad Savage and Hanah Marie Savage, both of Russellville; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Veta Petersen of Russellville and Lorene and George Van Sickle of Campbell, Calif.; one stepson and spouse, Dennis R. and Joy Mason of Russellville; one step grandson, Jason Jolly of London; four step granddaughters and spouses, Kristi Jolly of Russellville, Amy and Valen Woodward of Houston, Texas, Kati Mason of Russellville, and Jaclyn and Jason Walker of Conway.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 29, at the Rest Haven Memorial Park with Rev. Johnny McCoy and Rev. Doug Little officiating.
The body was cremated. Arrangements are under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service.
Memorials may be made to the Russellville Masonic Lodge Building Fund, P. O. Box 274, Russellville, AR 72811.

Daniel Torres

Daniel Torres of Houston, Texas, former resident of the Little Mulberry Valley in northern Johnson County, died Tuesday, March 13, 2001.
He is survived by his mother; three brothers; and one sister.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Copillos de los Angels in Houston, Texas. The body was cremated and the cremains will be placed in the Little Mulberry Creek following a memorial service which will be held at a later date.

Estal Louise Azevedo

Funeral for Estal Louise Evans Azevedo, 77, who died Tuesday, March 20, 2001, was at 7 p.m. Sunday, March 25, at Allen Mortuary in Turlock, Calif.
She was a former resident of Coal Hill.
Survivors include one son, Bobby Azevedo of Moreno Valley, Calif.; two daughters, Mary Gorczewski of Campbell, Calif., and Ida Silveira of Hilmar, Calif.; one sister, Lola Lowe of Modesto, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Elizabeth B. Howell

Elizabeth Boggs Howell, 74, of Clarksville died Friday, March 23, 2001, at her home.
She was a native of Scott's Bluff, Neb., daughter of the late William Riley and Myrtle Stewart Boggs, graduate of Clarksville High School and The College of the Ozarks, retired school teacher having taught at Coal Hill and Lamar, member of the Retired Teachers Association, AEO, First United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women where she served on the church board and as Sunday school director and teacher for several years, and was also a member of the church choir.
Survivors include her husband, John E. Howell; one daughter, Amy Beth Peeples of Harrison; one son and daughter-in-law, Aaron Guice and Ruth Ann Howell of Clarksville; one sister, Elaine Killough of Charleston, S. C.; one brother, Elbert Boggs of Guthrie, Okla.; and one granddaughter, Bonnie K. Peeples of Harrison.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Monday, March 26, at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Lowell Eaton officiating.
Burial was in Oakland cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Ron Taylor, Steve Morgan, Keith Lewis, Jim Krohn, Jack Phillips, and John Krohn.
Memorials may be made to the Elizabeth Boggs Howell Scholarship Fund, % First United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 535, Clarksville, AR 72830.

Floyd Eugene Perry

Floyd Eugene Perry, 67, of Altus, father of Melissa Weather of Coal Hill, died Wednesday, March 21, 2001, at her home.
He was a foreman for Wiederkehr Winery for 19 years, member of the Mt. Vernon Community Church, native of Forrest City, and son of the late Oliver and Nora Patty Perry.
Survivors include his widow, Christine Palmore Perry; four other daughters, Linda Powell of Altus, Shelby Sikes of Prairie View, Brenda Nuckolls of Heber Springs, and DeBra Chancey of Ozark; one stepson, Bernis Harris of Myrtle Creek, Ore.; one sister, Elazy Newsom of Dyer; 14 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Friday, March 23, at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel in Ozark with Rev. Billy Holt and Rev. William Hickman officiating. Burial was in Houston cemetery at Alix.
Active pallbearers were John Powell, Austin Bittle, Christopher Bittle, Charles Bittle, Anthony Bittle, and Mark Oswald.
Honorary pallbearers were Daniel Alexander and Jeremy Rogers.

Harry E. Pierce

Harry E. Pierce, 86, of Lamar died Monday, March 19, 2001, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
He was a retired Chrysler Corporation electrician, World War II Army veteran, Protestant, and son of the late Hugh and Mattie Kelley Pierce.
Survivors include one nephew, Charles W. Pierce Jr. of Sardinia, Ohio; two nieces, Charlene McLean of Florence, Ky., and Donna Slaven of Batavia, Ohio; four great-nephews; and one great-niece.
Graveside services and burial were at 2 p.m. Friday, March 23, at Oakland cemetery with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Luella Kasper

Luella Kasper, 81, of Hartman died Thursday, March 22, 2001, at Clarksville.
She was a member of the Union Grove Baptist Church, daughter of the late Reuben C. and Elizabeth Pankratz Hein, widow of John Kasper, and was preceded in death by three brothers, Wesley, Arnold, and Elmer.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Treva and Chuck Dayton of Enid, Okla.; five sons and daughters-in-law, Ray and Debbie Kasper, Leon and Colleen Kasper and Larry and Virginia Kasper, all of Hartman, and Virgil and Doris Kasper and Cliff and Barb Kasper, all of Enid, Okla.; one brother, Roland Hein of Kansas City, Kan.; 18 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 24, at the Union Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Burnett King officiating.
Burial was in Union Grove cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Chris Kasper, Jim Kasper, Nick Kasper, Ryan Dayton, Travis Kasper, T. J. Kasper, Matt Kasper, Chad Dayton, and Ethan Kasper.
