Lona Lucille Stepp
Lona Lucille Stepp, 62, of Oark died Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2001, at her home.
She was a member of the Church of Christ, daughter of the late Tom B. and Goldie Marie Dickard Guess, and was preceded in death by two sisters, Viola Foster and Irene Johnson; and two brothers, Leon and Clarence Guess.
Survivors include her husband, Roy C. Stepp; one daughter, Gail Ray of Mena; three sons, Vernon Stepp, Bobby Stepp, and Jeffery Stepp, all of Oark; two sisters, Florence Marie Miller of Marble and Florence Bell Guess of Oklahoma; one brother, Charles Edmon Guess of Oklahoma; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 1, at the Salus Free Holiness Church with Rev. Robert Boen officiating.
Burial was in the Buckhorn cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Bobby Stepp, Jeffery Stepp, Kevin Stepp, Roy Stepp, Vernon Stepp, and Steven Stepp.
Opal Yarbrough Thomas
Opal Cowan Yarbrough Thomas, 78, of Wichita, Kan., died Sunday, March 4, 2001, in Wichita, Kan.
She was a daughter of the late Claude and Marvie Thomas Cowan and a Pentecostal.
Survivors include her husband, James A. Thomas; one daughter, Mary Catherine Yarbrough Comstock of Wichita, Kan.; four sons, Ancil Lee Yarbrough of Wichita, Kan., Billie Ray Yarbrough of Rogers, Leroy Yarbrough of Oark, and Gary Nolan Yarbrough of Clarksville; three sisters, Irma Lee Hill of Oark, Juanita Hardin of Clarksville, and Corene Benn of Wichita, Kan.; two brothers, Haskel Cowan of Clarksville and Virgel Cowan of Oark; 21 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday, March 9, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rev. D. G. Daniels officiating. Burial will be in Sherman cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Christopher Yarbrough, Rocky Yarbrough, Michael Comstock, Roy Eugene Yarbrough, Tracy Yarbrough, and Matthew Yarbrough.
Honorary pallbearers will be Marty Yarbrough, Roy Lee Yarbrough, Shay Yarbrough, Billy Dwayne Yarbrough, Monty Yarbrough, Gary Yarbrough Jr., and Robert Yarbrough.
Patricia Siegel Genochio
Patricia Siegel Genochio, 76, of Santa Clara, Calif., died Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2001, in Santa Clara, Calif.
She was a former resident of Clarksville, daughter of the late Dr. George Reginal and Beatrice O'Shaughnessey Siegel, and a native of Wichita, Kan.
Survivors include her husband, Frank Genochio; three children, David, Beni, and Mary Jane of California; and four great-grandchildren, Christi, David, Robert and Joseph Genochio.
Memorial mass was at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, at St. Justin's Catholic Church at Santa Clara, Calif., under the direction of Lima Santa Clara Mortuary.
Roger Umholtz
Roger Carroll Umholtz, 63, of Ozark, father of Mary Perriman of Lamar and Billy Carroll Umholtz of Clarksville, died Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2001, in Ozark.
He was a native of Berryville, son of the late Orie and Lottie Mary Rolfe Umholtz, retired from the U. S. Air Force after having served from 1957-1977, retired employee of the Arkansas Highway Department after 13 years of service, and was recently a part-time maintenance employee of Garan Manufacturing in Ozark.
Survivors include his widow, Armita Powell Umholtz; four other daughters, Virginia DeWinter of Mishawaka, Ind., Elizabeth Gabel and Joye Brown, both of Ozark, and Jenifer Finley of Lansing, Kan.; one other son, Jason Huggins of Ozark; one sister, Mary Goodman of Royal; two brothers, Jerry Umholtz of Ozark and Micky Umholtz of Overland Park, Kan.; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and mother-in-law, Lillie Powell of Ozark.
Funeral was at 3 p.m. Thursday, March 1, at Ozark Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Wendell Keller and Rev. Steve Sawrie officiating.
Burial was in Highland cemetery under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.

Samuel (Bill) Dewett
Samuel T. (Bill) Dewett, 87, of Ozark, grandfather of Richard Wood of Clarksville, died Saturday, Feb. 24, 2001, at Ozark Nursing Home.
He was a son of the late Sam and Addie Tucker Dewett, a native of Ozark, member of Webb City Baptist Church, retired employee of Arkansas Valley Electric Cooperative, and was preceded in death by his wife, Era Keith Dewett; and one sister, Lena Parker, formerly of Salinsas, Calif.
He is survived by one daughter, Phillis Minton of Fort Smith; one son, Lewis Dewett of Springdale; one sister, Ruby Carlile of Ozark; two other grandchildren, Liby Smith of Ozark and Lee Ann Looney of Columbia, Mo.; and five great-grandchildren, Kyle and Kayla Eveld, Sydney Wood, and Cara and Beca Looney.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27, at Webb City Baptist Church with Rev. Jan Akins and Rev. Lewis Dewett officiating.
Burial was in Highland cemetery under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.

Carl (Butch) Terherst
Carl Junior (Butch) Terherst, 56, of Green Forest died Friday, Feb. 9, 2001, in Berryville.
He was a former resident of Coal Hill, son of the late Kathryn Beasley Terherst, native of Blue Eye, Mo., Tyson Foods lead employee, Pentecostal, and was preceded in death by two brothers, Kevin and Billy Gene Terherst; one sister, Loretta Terherst; and grandparents, Pete and Exie Beasley and Will and Tulie Terherst.
Survivors include his widow, Shirley Flippo Terherst; one son, Wayne of Green Forest; father, Carl Terherst of Coal Hill; two brothers, Jackie Terherst of Whorton, W. Va., and Gary Terherst of Coal Hill; eight sisters, Lena Roe of Omaha, Lynda Kite of Vine Grove, Ky., Lana Chronister, Mary Morgan, Julie Yates, and Beckie Stewart, all of Coal Hill, Janie Brice of Knoxville, and Teresa Grebb of Branch; one granddaughter, Nicole Terherst of Green Forest; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 12, at Nelson Chapel in Green Forest with Rev. Kenny Asbury and Eddie Reed officiating. Burial was in Farewell cemetery.
Emma Gene Hunt
Emma Gene Hunt, 66, of Jenny Lind died Friday, Feb. 9, 2001, at her home.
She was a former resident of Clarksville, widow of Julian John Hunt, member of the First Freewill Baptist Church in Greenwood, and retired employee of Pink Bud Nursing Home in Greenwood. She was preceded in death by one grandson, Steven Hunt.
Survivors include three sons, Rocky of Ozark, Ricky of Lamar and Robert of Clarksville; one sister, Eloise Farvelle of San Pablo, Calif.; and five grandchildren, Alex, Levon, Theron, Sydney and Reanee.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 12, at the First Free Will Baptist Church in Greenwood. Burial was in Liberty Hill cemetery at Hunt under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood.
Pallbearers were Glenn Nave, Allen Holmes, Kelly Blazor, Joseph Nave, Elmer Canada and Rick Cusick.
Eugene Teggatz
Eugene Teggatz, 77, of New Ulm, Minn., died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2001, at the New Ulm Medical Center in New Ulm, Minn.
He was a native of Reynolds, N. D., son of the late George and Brita Nash Teggatz, former resident of Grand Forks, N. D., Mentor, Minn., and also spent the winters of 1979 through 1988 in Clarksville. He was a former employee of the American Crystal Sugar Company in Crookston, Minn., and the Detroiter Mobile Home in Red Lake Falls, Minn. He was preceded in death by one son, Eugene Michael; one brother, Carl; and one son-in-law, Bobby Don Bean.
Survivors include his widow, Josephine Schindler Teggatz; six children, Beverly Bean and Carolyn Meyer, both of New Ulm, Minn., John of Milwaukee, Wis., Nancy Taylor of Maple Plain, Minn., Elaine Hudok of Anoka, Minn., and Earl of Chicago, Ill.; two brothers, Louis of Temple City, Calif., and Raymond of McMinnville, Ore.; five sisters, Margaret Carl of Tacoma, Wash., Lyda Grendahl of Hillsboro, Wis., Dorothy Burr of Garden Grove, Calif., Lily Schmaltz of Hillsboro, N. D., and Bernice Hangsleben of East Grand Forks, Minn.; 22 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian burial was at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 12, in St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Mentor, Minn., with Father David Super officiating. Burial was in St. Lawrence Catholic cemetery at Mentor, Minn., under the direction of Johnson Funeral Service of Red Lake Falls, Minn.
Pallbearers were grandsons, Robert Bean, Mark Teggatz, Russell Taylor, Michael Hudok, Benjamin Meyer and Tyler Teggatz.
