Burl Hatchett

Burl Hatchett, 79, of Clarksville died Thursday, June 24, 2004, at his home.
A native of Newton County, he was a son of the late E. M. and Ruth Ogden Hatchett, retired truck driver and sawmill employee, member of the Assembly of God Church, and was preceded in death by his wife, Christine Hatchett; and three grandchildren.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Will Pizzotti and Joan and Jim Rigsby, all of Clarksville; three sons, Gary Don Hatchett, Ronnie Dean Hatchett, and Burl David Hatchett, all of Clarksville; two foster sons, Bob Hency of Ozone and Wayne Hency of Colorado; two brothers, Glen Hatchett of Clarksville and James Hatchett of Michigan; several grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services and burial were at 2 p.m. Monday, June 28, at the Mt. Vernon cemetery with Rev. Don Carey and Rev. Bill Holt officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Brian A. Elliott

Brian Anthony Elliott, 34, of Seneca, S. C., died Saturday at the Oconee Memorial Hospital.
He was a native of Anderson, S. C., son of the late Tony Eugene Elliott, veteran of the U. S. Marine Corps and employed as an electrician with Davis Electric.
Survivors include his wife, Glenda Ivey Elliott; two daughters, Savannah and Kristen Elliott of the home; one son, David Troud of Seneca, S. C.; parents, Mary Ann White Williams of Portsmouth, Va., and Nelson and Melissa Eddy of Clarksville; and three brothers, Bradley Elliott of Clemson, S. C., Andy Elliott of Walhalla, S. C., and Kenneth Eddy of Portsmouth, Va.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 30, at the Brown-Oglesby Funeral Home in Seneca, S. C., with Dr. C. Von Reynolds officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the Oconee Memorial Park.

Bridget D. Sing

Bridget Denise Sing, 20, of Barling, sister of Bronc Sing of Clarksville, died Friday, June 18, 2004, from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident in Fort Smith.
She is survived by her parents, Carolyn and Tony Harding of Fort Hood, Texas, and Perry and Paula Sing of Oden; two sisters, Chelsea Pearson of Oden and Madison Harding of Fort Hood, Texas; two other brothers, Bobby Jones of Oden and Taylor Harding of Fort Hood, Texas; grandparents, Rosemary (Owens) and Norman Chapman of Fort Smith, Tommy Josh and Mary Jane Pile of Ratcliff and Roy and Catherine Sing of Paris; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services for her and her unborn daughter, Allie Denise, were at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 23, at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Paris.
Burial was at Lowe's Creek cemetery north of Branch under the direction of Roller Funeral Home of Paris.
Active pallbearers were Jordan and Christian Schneider, Tony Harding, Robbie Nicholas, Cody Sing and Mike White.
Honorary pallbearers were Steven Breedlove, Charles Thompson and Brandon Sing.

Freda O'Donnell

Freda Flo O'Donnell, 64, of Coal Hill died Thursday, June 24, 2004, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a member of the Coal Hill VFW Post 8532 and past president of the ladies auxiliary, Protestant, and daughter of the late Joe and Wilma Combs Acord.
She is survived by one son, John O'Donnell Jr. of California; two sisters, Frankie Jo Gregory of Springdale and Frances Edens of Fayetteville; one brother, Don Acord of Oark; and companion, Dale Magee of Coal Hill.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Monday, June 28, at the Yale Community Church with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating.
Burial was in Yale cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers were Bill Pannell, Mike Helton, Walter Rinke, Glen Drum, J. C. Smith, and Kevin Morgan.
Honorary pallbearers were Ellis Davis, Clifford Roberts, David Higby, Bob Kottmer, and members of the Coal Hill VFW Post 8532.

James W. Bowen

James W. Bowen, 78, of the Flat Rock Community died Wednesday, June 23, 2004.
He was a retired United States Air Force tech sergeant having served in World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War, recipient of numerous medals, and a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Bowen; two brothers, Jack and Lee Bowen; and one sister, Buleah Mae.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Evelyn Bowen; one daughter, Jimmie Ann Wooding; two grandchildren, Josh Wooding and Mary Ann McCartney; three great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Jacob and Eli; two brothers, Bobby Bowen and Albert (Bud) Bowen of La Grange, Ga.; one sister, Mary Godfrey of Atlanta, Ga.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral was at 1 p.m. Monday, June 28, at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Arkansas State Veterans cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Johnson County Hospice or Clarksville DAV Chapter No. 62.

Jerry Dale Higgins

Jerry Dale Higgins, 64, a former resident of Johnson County, died Wednesday, June 23, 2004, at his home in Huffman, Texas.
He was a son of the late L. R. (Bud) and Ruth Elizabeth Pitts Higgins, graduate of Lamar High School, Army veteran, retired ironworker, 17-year member of the Poor Boys Bass Club, charter member of Huffman Masonic Lodge and a former member of the East Houston Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Melba Elizabeth Renfro Higgins; one daughter, Lesa Wilson of Huffman, Texas; one son, Michael Higgins of Huffman, Texas; two grandchildren, Beth Wilson and Graham Wilson, both of Huffman, Texas; three brothers, Loy Wayne Higgins of Pearland, Texas, Gayland Higgins of Huffman, Texas, and Kenneth V. Higgins of Russellville; two sisters, Patsy Tripure of New Caney, Texas, and Kathy Seekins of Knoxville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral was at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 26, at Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton, Texas, with Dr. David T. Miller officiating. Burial was in Huffman cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Stephen Higgins, Eddie Hignite, Todd Higgins, Josh Higgins, Jacob Higgins, Jay Renfro, and Lloyd Baty.
Honorary pallbearer was Wade Higgins.

Jerry Price

Jerry Price, 61, of London died Thursday, June 24, 2004, at Clarksville.
He was a son of the late Raymond Price, native of Russellville, past president of the Arkansas Commercial Fisherman's Association, member of the Living Church of God, and was preceded in death by his stepfather, James Gillian.
Survivors are his widow, Gail Price; one son and daughter-in-law, Mitchell Don and Tricia Price of London; two daughters and sons-in-law, LaGena and Dennis Oliver and Bettinna Rae and Wake Williams, all of Omaha; mother, Ruth Moore Gillian of South Fulton, Tenn.; one sister and brother-in-law, Juanita and Bill Wyatt of South Fulton, Tenn.; seven grandchildren, Eric Shane Price of The Dalles, Ore., Keisha Dawn Steward of Omaha, Zachary Raymond Price of London, Kayla Reann Cooper, Justin Cory Cooper and Meagan Kinsey Price, all of Omaha, and Jesse Dawn Price of London; and four great-grandchildren.
A graveside memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 29, at Oakland cemetery in Russellville with David Crockett officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
Honorary pallbearers were Zachary Raymond Price, Oscar Coffman, Woody Hale, Phillip Young, Phillip Worm, Mike Bewley, and Bud Mueller.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Mrs. Jeff Mobley, Memorial Chairman, 225 Skyline Drive, Russellville, AR 72802, or to Arkansas Hospice, 1310 West Main Street, Russellville, AR 72801.

James M. Taylor

James Miles (Chief) Taylor, 86, of North Little Rock died June 21, 2004.
He was a son of the late Wes and Ruth Taylor of Clarksville, World War II veteran, retired chief petty officer in the Navy and member of Belle Grove Masonic Lodge No. 410 at Ludwig. He was preceded in death by his wife, Inda Taylor; four brothers; and two sisters.
Survivors include one son, Ronnie Mason of Little Rock; one sister, Sarah Nelle Colburn; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Taylor and Weynette Haun; one brother-in-law, Earl Coats Jr.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services and burial were at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 24, at Little Rock National cemetery with Rev. Charlie Winters officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Owen Funeral Home of North Little Rock.
Memorials may be made to the Cedar Heights Baptist Church Building Fund, 14502 Cedar Heights Road, North Little Rock, AR 72118 or the Union Rescue Mission.

Margaret A. Hardgrave

Margaret Ann Hardgrave, 56, of Clarksville died Friday, June 25, 2004, at her home.
She was a native of Cleveland, Ohio, and a graduate of North Hollywood (California) High School.
Survivors include her husband, Earnest Hardgrave; one daughter, Elizabeth Williams of Fresno, Calif.; one son, Earnest Hardgrave Jr. of Fresno, Calif.; mother, Helen Reising of Clarksville; and eight grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial were at 10 a.m. Monday, June 28, at the Lone Pine cemetery with Rev. Vernon Bass officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
