PANGBURN - Bryant Edmon Holloway, 57, of Pangburn died Wednesday, June 3, 2009, in a Little Rock hospital.
Born Sept. 27, 1951, in Des Arc, he was the son of Bryant Holloway. He was a retired body shop owner and a member of the U.S. Army National Guard. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Dorothy Rogers
HARDY - Dorothy Eileen Rogers, 74, of Hardy died Wednesday, June 3, 2009, in a Batesville hospital.
Born Sept. 20, 1934, in Forrest City, she was the daughter of Don and Thelma Boyd Alder. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Rogers; a son, Bob Rogers of Springdale; a daughter, Nancy Hairston of Fayetteville; and four grandchildren, Kara Rogers and Audrey Rogers, both of Springdale, and Hannah Hairston and Hallie Hairston, both of Fayetteville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Michael Rogers; and a brother, Don Alder.
Benny Ruminer
MODESTO, Calif. - Benny Emmett Ruminer, 70, of Modesto, Calif., formerly of Batesville, died Wednesday, June 3, 2009, in Modesto.
Born March 15, 1939, in Batesville, he was the son of Emmett Lawrence Ruminer and Theaddese Fike Ruminer. He held an associate degree in architecture and retired as a computer analyst with Gallo Winery in Modesto.

Pearl Bounds, 104, of Batesville died Tuesday, June 2, 2009, in a Batesville nursing home.
Born Feb. 28, 1905, in Rector, she was the daughter of Jim and Mary Brewer Vowel. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include a son, Donald Bufford Bounds of California; a daughter, Lucille Sandy of Sandtown; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 32 great-great-grandchildren; and a great-great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Claude Bounds; a son, Gerald Bounds; and a daughter, Betty LaCroix.
Tina Johnson
Juventina “Tina” Sanchez Johnson, 73, of Batesville died Sunday, April 19, 2009, in a Batesville hospital.
Born Jan. 25, 1936, in Durango, Mexico, she was the daughter of Carmen and Guadalupe Sanchez Hernandez. She was a child care worker and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Batesville.
Survivors include a son, Johnny Johnson of Batesville; a daughter, Lana Russell of Batesville; 12 brothers; 11 sisters; a granddaughter, Crystal Harrington; and two great-grandchildren, Austin Harrington and Olivia Harrington.

Francese Cordelia Putnam-Cademartori, 86, of Batesville died April 6, 2009, at her home.
Born April 14, 1922, in Rutland, Vt., she was the daughter of George and Anna Elizabeth Frappier Putnam. She was a cook and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Batesville.

Helen R. Jackson, 75, of Batesville died Saturday, April 18, 2009, in Batesville.
Born June 1, 1933, in Twin Creek, she was the daughter of Wordie Hamilton Waters and Emma Angeline Herzig Waters. She was a 1954 graduate of Cushman High School. She was a homemaker and a quilt maker. She was a member of Cave Creek Church of God.

MELBOURNE - Mildred Moser, 90, of Melbourne died today, April 21, 2009, in a Batesville hospital.
Born Sept. 17, 1918, in Mount Pleasant, she was the daughter of William Jackson Caraway and Pearl May Smith Caraway. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include several nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Johnie Eldridge Moser; and two sisters, Vernie Johnson and Ruth Tate.

EVENING SHADE - Russell Haley Carter, 66, of Evening Shade died Thursday, April 16, 2009, in a Batesville hospital.
Born Nov. 29, 1942, at Evening Shade, he was the son of Clyde and Flava Haley Carter. He was a farmer and a weather observer for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration for 30 years.
Murr Durham
STRAWBERRY - Murr Durham, 93, of Strawberry died Friday, April 17, 2009.
Born July 8, 1915, at Strawberry, he was the son of Charles “Charlie” and Sophronia Little Durham. He was united in marriage to Marjorie Massey on Nov. 27, 1938. He was a farmer and a member of Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church in Strawberry.

GLENCOE - Leta Glodean Perkey, 70, of Glencoe died Sunday, April 19, 2009, in a Salem hospital.
Born Oct. 12, 1938, in Byron, she was the daughter of Orgel and Theola Huggins Henry. She was united in marriage to Billy D. Perkey on Dec. 11, 1968, in Glencoe. She was a line type operator and operations manager at the Salem Headlight for many years. She was a member of the Church of God.
Thelma Pierce
Thelma Pierce, 92, of Batesville died Saturday, April 18, 2009.
Born Nov. 2, 1916, in Desha, she was the daughter of William Henry Simmons and Mattie Octavia Moore Simmons.
She was a retired cook at Desha School. She was a member of Desha United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the United Methodist Women’s Organization, and was a member of the Eastern Star Ruth Chapter No. 91 in Batesville.

Florence Holmes Powell, 87, of Batesville died Saturday, April 18, 2009, in Batesville.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church with the Revs. Limuel Parks and James D. Sanders officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.
Pallbearers will be Butch Ketz, Mike Cushman, Danny Yeager, Marcus Bowers, Sgt. Major Tommy Wilson, Kenny Gerhardt, Randall Ford Torrey and Rocky Willmuth.
Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday.

GRANITE CITY, Ill. - Berniece Spurlock, 85, of Granite City, Ill., died Tuesday, April 28, 2009, in a Granite City hospital.
Born April 24, 1924, in Sharp County, she was the daughter of John Wesley and Virgie Johnson Spurlock. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, gardening and tending to her flowers. She was a member of Clark Street Church of Christ.

Born March 15, 1922, in Grant County, Ind., she was the daughter of Clester and Zelia Boswell Rybolt. She was an accountant and owned and operated Byers Bookkeeping and Tax Service in Cherokee Village. She was a member of Cherokee Village Business Association.

Born Nov. 22, 1917, in Izard County, she was the daughter of Lorenzo Dow Edwards and Mary Murphree Edwards. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking, family gatherings and the tradition of Sunday morning breakfast with her children.

MELBOURNE - Corey Damon Masson Sr., 32, of Melbourne died Sunday, April 26, 2009, in Batesville.
He was born March 13, 1977, in Batesville. After graduating from Melbourne High School in 1995, he obtained an emergency medical technician and paramedic license. He was a 2009 graduate of the Ozarka College licensed practical nursing program. He was employed by White River Medical Center as a patient care technician. He was united in marriage to Rhiannon VanWinkle on May 22, 2006, in Zion. He was a member of Antioch Landmark Missionary Baptist Church.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church with Noble Wiles and Jerry Medlock officiating. Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Melbourne.

MAMMOTH SPRING - Mitchell “Don” Saling, 64, of Mammoth Spring died Saturday, April 25, 2009.
He was a retired lineman for Ameron UE.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Traughber Saling; a stepson, Ronnie James of Sikeston, Mo.; a brother, Bill Saling of Denver; and a sister, Jean Bryant of Morehouse, Mo.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Heath Funeral Home Oak Hill Chapel with Hal Collier officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Mammoth Spring.
