W. D. Shuffield
W. D. (Dub) Shuffield, 80, of Dover died Thursday, Feb. 26, 2004, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
He was a native of Johnson County, son of the late Shelby and Lola Dollar Shuffield, member of the Pentecostal Church of God, and was a former farmer and bus driver with the Dover Public Schools for 27 years.
Survivors include his widow, Claudine Stumbaugh Shuffield; one son and daughter-in-law, Stan and Donna Shuffield of Dover; four daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Fred Wells of Russellville, Ru-
tha and Bob Freeman of Clarksville, Carolyn and Mike Lee of Dover, and JoAnn and Jim O'Neal of Branch; one sister and brother-in-law, Lenora and Charles Standridge of Dover; 12 grandchildren and spouses, Tammy and Wesley Morton of Dover, Bobby and Shelley Freeman and Mandi and Shawn Witt, all of Clarksville, Darren and Rachel Freeman of Russellville, Stan and Melinda Shuffield of Dover, Christie Shuffield of Conway, Debbie Shuffield of Dover, Chelli and Luke Guthrie of Russellville, Keri Lee of Dover, Katie Moore of Branch, Mark Moore of Texarkana, and Crystal and Brad McCollister of Red Bay, Ala.; four great-grandchildren, Hollie Hopson of Dover, Grace Guthrie of Russellville, and Emma and Destiny McCollister of Red Bay, Ala.; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, at Gospel Lighthouse Pentecostal Church with Rev. Jackie Pledger and Rev. Bob Freeman officiating.
Burial was in the Owens cemetery at Dover under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service of Russellville.
Anna Bly
Anna Bly, 82, of Lamar died Saturday, Feb. 21, 2004, at her home.
She was a native of Bethel, Okla., former resident of Ozark, daughter of the late J. L. and Phoebe Cottnam Black and a retired cook.
She is survived by eight daughters, Nina Patrick and Tami Mason, both of Ozark, Joyce Harris of Wichita Falls, Texas, Sue Marvel of Clarksville, Judy Ingram of Locust Grove, Okla., Jeanie Clayborn of New Boston, Texas, Vicki McKinney of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Shirley Bly of Mulberry; two sons, Jimmy Clayborn of Rudy and Richard Clayborn of Altus; 38 grandchildren including a granddaughter, Kim Flanary of Clarksville; 52 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, at Shaffer Funeral Home in Ozark with Rev. Travis George officiating. Burial was in Rankin cemetery west of Ozark.
Pallbearers were Larry Gravit III, Donnie Marvel, Dustin Marvel, and Michael, Jeremy and Daniel Luna.
Freda Rose Hull
Freda Rose Hull, 64, of Lamar died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2004, at Countryside Manor Nursing Home.
She was a former Singer employee, daughter of the late Marion Doyal and Woodrow Dorthy Pearson Hull, and was preceded in death by one brother and sister-in-law, Wesley and Eugenia Hull.
She is survived by two sisters, Janis Hull and Doreen Stockton, both of Lamar; and one brother, John D. Hull of Hagarville.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating. Burial was in Annie's Chapel cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Donald Stockton, Doyle Stockton, Chris Hull, Mike Farmer, Andrew Hull, and Corey Feikema.
Honorary pallbearers were Michael Hull, Michael Farmer, Don Cochran, and Kenny Cochran.
Franklin D. Wacker
Franklin D. Wacker, 69, of Clarksville died Friday, Feb. 20, 2004, at his home.
He was a retired steel mine employee and chef, son of the late Fred William and Alma C. Rueb Wacker, Baptist and member of the American Legion.
Survivors include his widow, Barbara Gross Wacker; two sons, Dennis Wacker and Mike Wacker, both of Virginia, Minn.; one granddaughter, Emily Wacker of Vir-
ginia, Minn.; nine sisters, Betty Schmidt of Fort Myers, Fla., Norma Sheppard of Da Palas, Calif., Dorine Nieck of Lake Stevens, Fla., Janice Buleges of Sleepy Eye, Minn., Ursula Thedens, Ruth Murray, and Maxine Lee, all of Rochester, Minn., Virginia Nitasdy of St. Paul, Minn., and Shirl Thul of Sedalia, Mo.; and four brothers, Fred Wacker of Long Mount, Colo., Robert Wacker of Ft. Collins, Colo., Paul Wacker of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Norman Wacker of Aimsworth, Iowa.
A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, at the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
The body was cremated.
Local arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Hughlon McMillan
Hughlon (Hugh) McMillan, 81, of Macomb Township, Mich., formerly of Clarksville, died Saturday, Feb. 21, 2004, at Mt. Clemens General Hospital in Mt. Clemens, Mich.
A native of Ozone, he was a son of the late Ira and Jewell Jones McMillan, retired employee of Pontiac Motors, a fiddle player and fisherman, and was preceded in death by four brothers, Lester, Leon, Leo and Verlan McMillan.
Survivors are his widow, Alice Voncoillie McMillan; four sons, Richard of Macomb Township, Mich., Jim of Lapeer, Mich., Don of Kingston, Mich., Jerry of Lisbon, Ohio, and Dave of Sterling Heights, Mich.; one brother, Levon McMillan of Hudson, Fla.; five sisters, Lanola Goldsmith of Valley Center, Kan., Opal Kelley of Sikeston, Mo., Joy Posey of Cherokee, Ala., Iris Trombley of Emmet, Mich., and Fay Prieskorn of Ray Township, Mich.; 13 grandchildren, Meagen, Ashley, David, Christine, Paul, Marhiya, Melissa, Chad, Jeff, Kerry, Joseph, Jessica and Melanie; nine great-grandchildren, Micah, Anjelica, Madison, Lindsay, Keegan, Justin, Kenedie, Brennan and Hayden; and numerous relatives in Clarksville.
Rosary was at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, with funeral to follow at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, with Fr. Doc Ortman as the celebrant at Murphy and Hauss Funeral Directors. Burial will be in Resurrection cemetery in Clinton Township, Mich.

James B. McCay
Graveside services and burial for James Barnett McCay, 50, of Hi Hat, Ky., who died Sunday, Feb. 15, 2004, at McDowell Regional Hospital, were at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 20, at the Hays Chapel cemetery with Rev. Jerry Vinson officiating. Local arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
He was a disabled veteran, member of Brothers of the 3rd Wheel Trike Association, son of the late Donald Franklin and Dorothy Alene Holt Riddick, and preceded in death by one brother, Roger Lee Holt.
Survivors include his widow, Patresicia Banhart McCay; one daughter, Ella McCay of Ligon, Ky.; one sister, Barbara Jackson of Pottsville; and several nieces and nephews.
James E. Rice
James Edward Rice, 87, of Charleston, stepfather of Lisa Nubbie of Clarksville, died Friday, Feb. 13, 2004, in Fort Smith.
He was a retired plumber and electrician for Adams Plumbing and Electric Company, Methodist, native of Franklin County, son of the late Austin and Viola Essman Rice, and was preceded in death by his first wife, Freda Mae Rice, and one son, J. E. Rice.
Survivors include his widow, Lyndell Rice; two daughters, Carolyn Douglas of Fort Smith and Sandy Haney of Charleston; one son, Randy Rice of Lavaca; one other stepdaughter, Susan Young of Paris; two stepsons, James Buster Appleton and Bill Appleton, both of Charleston; two sisters, Kate Brown and Jean Hudson, both of Charleston; ten grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 16, at Smith Mortuary Chapel in Charleston with burial at Mount Hope West cemetery north of Charleston.
Active pallbearers were Bob Nubbie, Justin Douglas, Jared Rice, Billy Young, Heath Haney and Bill Appleton.
Honorary pallbearers were Buster Appleton and David Haney.
Oscar Richardson Jr.
Oscar Richardson Jr., 80, of Lamar died Sunday, Feb. 22, 2004 at his home.
He was a welder and son of the late Alma (Bennett) and Oscar Richardson Sr.
Survivors include two daughters, Sheryl Bieker of Scranton, Kan., and Betty Jo Saylors of Brighton, Tenn.; two brothers, Roy Richardson of Lamar and Carl Richardson of Springdale; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Memorial graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 20, at Lamar cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Ralph L. Bynum
Ralph L. Bynum, 81, of Clarksville died Friday, Feb. 20, 2004, at Atkins Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
He was a native of Clarksville, son of the late James Isaac and Anna Belle Ray Bynum, Navy veteran of World War II, member of Stillwell Bible Baptist Church, former owner and operator of Diamond Drive Inn for several years, and was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years Violet Ruth Elkins Bynum.
He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and David Lasater of Clarksville; one son, Ron Bynum of Albuquerque, N. M.; two sisters, Leola Hilton and Anna Marie England, both of Clarksville; three grandchildren, Adrian Lasater of Clarksville, Holly Freeman of Russellville, and Mindy Lasater of Pocatello, Idaho; and three great-grandchildren, Hunter and Addie Lasater of Clarksville and Brayden Freeman of Russellville.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 23, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jim Goodman officiating. Burial was in Oakland cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Dondi Elkins, Jeff Resimont, Steve Askins, Matt Meeker, Autry Meeker and John Askins.
