Tim Riddell
Tim Riddell, 65, of Dover, father of Cricket Dodge of Ozone, died Saturday, Feb. 21, 2004, at the National Park Medical Center in Hot Springs.
He was a native of Mt. Judea, son of the late William (Willie) David Riddell, former truck driver, member of North New Hope Assembly of God Church at Dover, and was preceded in death by one brother-in-law, Henry Wheeler.
Other survivors include his widow, Ruth Riddell; one son and daughter-in-law, Jerry Lee and Karen Riddell of Dardanelle; mother, Mamie Rosetta McCain Riddell of Dover; one brother, Paul Riddell of Dover; one sister, Magdalean Wheeler of Platt City, Mo.; three grandchildren, Christy Taylor, Will Riddell and Tim Dodge; and two great-grandchildren, Alex Luffman and Olivia Taylor.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, at the Pleasant Grove Assembly of God Church with Rev. Stanley Taylor officiating.
Burial will be in the Pollard cemetery at Dover under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
Active pallbearers will be Cecil, Clayton, James and David Reddell, Randy Taylor and Ambers Dodge.
Honorary pallbearers will be Chester Reddell, Jimmy Chilton, Michael Riddell and Ray Riddell.
John R. Myers
John Richard Myers of Ozark, brother of Barbara Goodman of Lamar, died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2004, at Mercy Hospital/Turner Memorial in Ozark.
He was a farmer, member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, son of the late Fred Myers Jr., and was preceded in death by two brothers, James Myers and Fred Myers III.
Survivors include his mother, Bertha Myers of Altus; two other sisters, Vickie Wiederkehr of Altus and Zita Parker of Alma; and three brothers, David Myers and Ted Myers, both of Ozark, and Greg Myers of Springdale.
Rosary was at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 20, at Shaffer Funeral Home in Ozark. Funeral was at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, at St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Pallbearers were Herb Vaught, Paul Kremers, Kevin Sheppard, Dallas Leep, Randy Stevens, Mike Myers, and Kenny Anhalt.
Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church in Altus or the American Cancer Society.
Alice Mae Walter
Alice Mae Walter, 84, of Clarksville died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2004, at Sparks Regional Medical Center in Fort Smith.
A native of Fayetteville, Tenn., she was a daughter of the late Andrew Ewing and Rachel Mae Moore Smith, widow of Freddie Walter; graduate of Orville (Alabama) High School, and member of Hilltop Bible Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Freda Walter of Clarksville and Alice Denise Roberson of Bartlesville, Okla.; one son, William H. Meeks of Oklahoma City, Okla.; four grandchildren, Billy Meeks of Grand Prairie, Texas, Tim Meeks of Highland Village, Texas, Adam Walter of Western Grove, and Tricia Wilkinson of St. Louis, Mo.; and three great-grandchildren, Dylan Meeks and Julianne Meeks, both of Highland Village, Texas, and Keianna Walter of Western Grove.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, at the Harmony Presbyterian Church with Rev. Bob King officiating.
Burial was in Harmony cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers were Kenny Phillips, Daniel Sanborn, Bob Bean, Bob Accord, Alan Ashlock, and Mike Sanborn.

Bernice V. Johnson
Bernice V. Johnson, 89, of Hartman died Sunday, Feb. 15, 2004, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a daughter of the late Matt Ransom and Beulah Phelps Gilmore, member of Hartman Methodist Church, former employee of Priebe, Hanford and Swift Company, and was preceded in death by one son, Mike Johnson.
Survivors include her husband, Ray L. Johnson; one daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and Sonny Jones of Monticello; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Monroe K. Johnson of Hartman and John K. and Inge Johnson of Alma; one brother, Henry Gilmore of Sacramento, Calif.; and six grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, at Roller-Cox Chapel with burial in Hartman cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Kirby Johnson, Charlie Plugge, Maxie Gilmore, Andy Johnson, Larry Plugge, and Bill Steele.

Evie I. Vanatta
Evie Imogene Vanatta, 74, of Lamar died Monday, Feb. 16, 2004, at her home.
She was a daughter of the late Roy and Nina Vanatta and was preceded in death by one sister, Wanda Christine Jones.
Survivors include two daughters, Flora Honeycutt of Center Ridge and Lucille Nolen of Greenbrier; six sons, Jesse Ball and Danny Ball, both of Lamar, Darrell Ball and Jay B. Love, both of Knoxville, Richard Love Sr. of Russellville and Jack Love of Center Ridge; three sisters, Rosetta Chenault of Morrilton, Rina Auld of Tennessee and Bessy Mender of Pasla, Kan.; three brothers, Roy Vanatta of Welch, Okla., Ray Vanatta of Mt. Pleasant, and Jerry Vanatta of Tonasket, Wash.; 28 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rex Coon officiating. Burial will be in Springfield cemetery.

James E. Carter
James Ervin Carter, 65, of Clarksville died Thursday, Feb. 12, 2004, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
He was a native of Johnson County and son of the late James Ray Carter.
Survivors include his widow, Judy Carter; three daughters, Sheila Headman of Spokane, Wash., and Pamela Carter and Lisa Carter, both of Portland, Maine; one son, Michael Carter of Missoula, Mont.; mother, Dorothy Carter of Clarksville; two brothers, Roger Carter of St. Louis, Mo., and Robert Carter of Clarksville; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 16, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with Paul Farrar officiating. Burial was in Lamar cemetery.

Joan C. DeSander
Joan C. DeSander, 90, of Burt, Mich., mother of Mrs. Robert (Alida) Raquepaw of Clarksville, died Friday, Feb. 13, 2004, at The Lutheran Home in Frankenmuth, Mich.
She was a native of Caro, Mich., but had lived most of her life in Burt, Mich., daughter of the late Michael and Madgalina Joas Lehner, widow of Leslie A. DeSander, member of Birch Run Baptist Church, employee of Birch Run area schools for nine years, and was preceded in death by one stepson, Leslie R. DeSander, and four brothers, Frank, Tony, Joseph and John Lehner.
Survivors are one other daughter, Mrs. James (Arlene) Hauck of Birch Run, Mich.; two sons, Emil DeSander of Lansing, Mich., and Bernard DeSander of Saginaw, Mich.; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Joe (Carol) Megar of Arizona; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two brothers, Mike Lehner of Florida and Carl Lehner of California; one sister, Helen Feighner of Utah; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services were at 4 p.m. Monday, Feb. 16, at O'Guinn Family Funeral Home with Rev. Matt Kanaar officiating. Private inurnment at Cook cemetery will be held at a later date.
Marvie Brown
Marvie Brown, 76, of Clarksville died Monday, Feb. 16, 2004, at her home.
She was a native of Newton County, daughter of the late Lynn and Erna Cowan Mooney, widow of Howard Brown, and was preceded in death by one son, Randall Brown; three brothers, Lloyd Mooney, Elbert Mooney and Phil Mooney; and two sisters, Lynnette Rogers and Oralee Davis.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Stanton and Terrie Brown of Clarksville; one brother, Joe Paul Mooney of Hyampom, Calif.; and four grandchildren, Aubrey Brown and Brittany Brown, both of Clarksville, Nicole Brown of Little Rock, and Alisha Dawn Boggs of Las Vegas, Nev.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, at Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Obey Beebe
Obey Beebe, 87, of Prospect, La., whose son and daughter-in-law, Russell and Pamela Beebe reside in Clarksville, died Monday, Feb. 9, 2004, at the Veterans Hospital in Alexandria, La.
He was a son of the late William and Anna Knight Beebe and was preceded in death by two brothers, Herbert Beebe and Kent Beebe, and two sisters, Gertrude Trotty and Ozema Monk.
Other survivors include his widow, Helen Owens Beebe; one grandson and spouse, Thomas and Michelle Ann Beebe of Clarksville; one granddaughter, Belinda Parker of Clarksville; and two great-grandchildren, Dylan Parker and Michelle Dawn Beebe of Clarksville.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11, at Chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Pineville, La., with Rev. Leland Briggs officiating. Burial was at Frazier cemetery in Prospect, La.
