Doyle A. Sparks

Doyle Arvin Sparks, 82, of Lamar died Monday, July 19, 2004, at River Valley Kidney Center in Russellville.
He was a member of the Lamar Methodist Church, Army veteran, son of the late James and Nora E. Pruit Sparks, and was preceded in death by his wife, Georgia Evelyn Sparks.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Karen and James Tate of Lamar; four sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Nancy Sparks, Gary and Ann Sparks, and Kevin and Brandy Sparks, all of Lamar, and Dr. Danny and Jennifer Aquilar of Russellville; one sister, Wilma Martin of Tulsa, Okla.; one brother, Delmar Sparks of Vancouver, Wash.; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 22, at Lamar Methodist Church.
Burial will be at Lamar cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Tim Sparks, Todd Sparks, David Chavers, Shane Sparks, Jason Sparks, and Terry Paul Chavers.
Visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 21, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Lamar Methodist Church or Johnson County Girls Club.

Agnes Marie Rambo

Agnes Marie Rambo, 90, died Saturday, July 24, 2004, at Countryside Manor Nursing Home.
She was born to Ola and Esther Evans Park in Clarksville but lived most of her adult life in Fort Smith, retired Southwestern Bell Telephone Company employee, served in the U. S. Navy WAVES during World War II, widow of Lawrence Rambo, member of the First United Methodist Church and had served as organist and pianist for several churches. She was preceded in death by one brother, Alvis Park; and one infant sister, Mary Elizabeth Park.
Survivors include one niece, Mary Lou Downing of Austin, Texas; two great-nephews and one great-niece, all of Texas; and numerous cousins.
Burial of cremains will be at 2 p.m. Friday, July 30, in Forest Park cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.

Junior R. Garrett

Junior R. Garrett, 81, of Lamar died Tuesday, July 20, 2004, at Clarksville.
He was a son of the late John R. and Savannah McKinney Garrett, native of Amber, Okla., former resident of Muldrow, Okla., veteran, Protestant, truck driver for Bruce Hix, and a horse trader. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Magadiline Floyd Garrett;, two brothers, Waymon and Clayburn Garrett; and two sisters, Opal Mullins and Florene Crosslin.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Jack Albert Justice of Lamar; one sister-in-law, Faye Floyd Waters of Sallisaw, Okla.; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services and burial were at 2 p.m. Friday, July 23, at Woodlawn Memorial Park cemetery in Fort Smith with Rev. Lowell Churchill officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Muldrow, Okla.
Memorials may be made to Needy Paws Animal Shelter, P. O. Box 523, Clarksville, AR 72830.

William E. Hull

William E. Hull, 74, of Artesia, N. M., died Wednesday, July 21, 2004, in Artesia, N. M.
He was a native of Clarksville but had resided in Artesia, N. M., since 1956, son of the late Joseph Chester and Sarah Jewel Shrum Hull, public school principal retiring from Zia Intermediate School in 1984, active member of First United Methodist Church, member of the Eastern New Mexico Senior Golf Association, and lifetime member of the N.E.A. He was preceded in death by one brother and one great-granddaughter, Bryannah Galindo.
Survivors include his widow, Patsy Baber Hull; one son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Shelli Hull of Artesia, N. M.; one daughter and son-in-law, Leslie and George Studds of Lovington, N. M.; and four grandchildren, Monica Solis and spouse, Refugio, Veronica Hull, Christopher Studds and Kirstene Campbell.
Services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 24, at the First United Methodist Church in Arsia, N. M., with Rev. Paul Dean Duerksen officiating.
Burial was in Woodbine cemetery under the direction of Terpening and Son Mortuary.
Active pallbearers were Jess McGary, Tom Felber, Bill Case, Killian Nettesheim, Mike Simons and Ronnie Hull.
Honorary pallbearers were the Thursday Senior Golfers.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 1492, Artesia, N. M. 88211.

Windell L. Stumbaugh

Windell L. Stumbaugh, 64, of Lamar died Thursday, July 22, 2004, at Countryside Manor Nursing Home.
He was born at Mt. Levi, son of the late Henry Ruben and Arnie Lois Freed Stumbaugh, graduate of Lamar High School, retired from the United States Air Force as a master sergeant in 1981 after 20 years of service during which time he served two years in Vietnam, two years in Korea and one year in Okinawa, received an aeronautical engineering degree, was a member of the Jolly Greens Air Rescue, and the recipient of three Silver Stars and one Bronze Star. He was preceded in death by one brother, Arnold Ray Stumbaugh.
Survivors include his widow, Marilyn Stumbaugh; one sister, Genevie Payne of West Fork; and six brothers, G. C. Stumbaugh of Augusta, H. L. Stumbaugh, David Stumbaugh and Don Stumbaugh, all of Lamar, Frank Stumbaugh of Cabot, and Wayland (Butch) Stumbaugh of Prairie Grove.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Monday, July 26, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with Rev. Dale Lantz officiating. Burial with full military honors was at Annie's Chapel cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Richard Milner, Arnold Ray Stumbaugh Jr., Tim Stumbaugh, Dennis Stumbaugh, Steve Stumbaugh, Doug Stumbaugh, and Mike Taverner.
Honorary pallbearers were Donald Jarad Stumbaugh, Darren Stumbaugh, Stewart Stumbaugh, Marty Stumbaugh, Greg Stumbaugh, Glenn Stumbaugh, Leslie Don Lantz, John Milner, Jamey Milner, Skylar Milner, and Scott Milner.

Edward Stumbaugh

Edward (Kay) Stumbaugh, 97, of Paris, formerly of Clarksville, died Thursday, July 29, 2004, at Paris Health and Rehabilitation Center.
He was a native of Clarksville, son of the late George Francis and Nancy Jane Cates Stumbaugh, 1927 graduate of Clarksville High School, where he participated in football, brick mason for 60 years having bricked homes in Johnson, Logan and Franklin counties, and was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Moore Stumbaugh.
He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Jim Clay of Paris; three granddaughters and husbands, Angela and Billy Kindrick of Dover, Teresa and Thomas Goates of Mountain Home, and Patti and Chris Huber of Subiaco; six great-grandchildren, Katie Goates of Mountain Home, Trevor Cooper and Andrea Kindrick of Dover, and Christa, Matti and Clay Huber of Subiaco; and nephew and wife, Lavon and Eileen Stumbaugh of Clarksville.
Graveside services and burial were at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 31, at the Oakland cemetery with Rev. Don Eubanks officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

James Holloway Jr.

James Edward Holloway Jr., 70, of Alix, brother of Alice Jackson of Coal Hill, died Wednesday, July 21, 2004, at his home.
He was a native of Alix, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. James (Katherine Witkay) Holloway Sr., Army veteran, Methodist and employee of Crouse Construction.
Other survivors include his widow, Melba Masingale Holloway; one daughter, Diane Harmon of Denning; one son, Michael Holloway of Alix; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Friday, July 23, at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Phillip Pardue officiating. Burial was at Houston cemetery at Alix.
Active pallbearers were Jim Gowing, Ted Skolarski, Joe Hoing, Donald Hurst, Dale Pyron, Don Phillips, and Steve Ricketts.
Honorary pallbearers were Neil Woolsey, Gordon and Kenneth Ross, Darrell Mayner, Jimmy Cline, Dave Chronister and J. D. Rice.

Jerry F. Luningham

Jerry Franklin Luningham, 61, of Russellville, son-in-law of Marvin Tice of Clarksville, died Wednesday, July 28, 2004.
He was a son of the late Cleve and Ruby Cothren Luningham, native of Russellville, member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, and retired chicken farmer with Tyson for 39 years.
Other survivors include his widow, Marilyn Luningham; one son, Allen Luningham of Russellville; one daughter and son-in-law, Tanya and Duncan Harvill of Russellville; three brothers, Charles Luningham of Atkins, and Bill Luningham and Gary Luningham, both of Russellvillle; two sisters, Sherry Cossey of Hector and Bonnie Ketchum of Russellville; and three grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Friday, July 30, 2004, at Happy Valley Assembly of God Church with Rev. Ray Cossey officiating.
Burial was in Shiloh cemetery under the direction of Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins.
Active pallbearers were Wendell Chisum, Dale Luningham, Tony Ketchum, Stevie Duvall, Harold Luningham, and Chris Duvall.
Honorary pallbearers were L. J. Wilfond, Paul Ray Reed, Jerry Chronister, Fred Luningham, Jack Saeger, Jerry Bewley, L. B. Duvall, Rick Perez, Charles Burris, Terry Luningham, and Clifton Duvall.

Lois M. Andrews

Lois Myra Andrews, 81, of Ozone died July 30, 2004, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a daughter of the late John and Sally Stallings Byrne, nurse for 40-plus years, member of Ozone Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by two sisters, Anitabelle Boughten and Mary McLanson and one brother, John Edward Byrne.
Survivors include her husband, Paul Andrews; one daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and David McCracken of Moore, Okla.; one son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Reba Thompson of Dallas, Texas; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 2, at Ozone Baptist Church with Rev. David McCracken and Ben Herod officiating.
Burial was at Russell cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Richard McDougal, Ray England, Julian Andrews, Redell Shatwell, Byran Thompson, and Seth Gaubert.
