Vernon Scott Stone

Vernon Scott Stone, 81, of Hagarville died Sunday, Sept. 29, 2002, at his home.
He was a native of Limestone, son of the late Walter Scott and Artie Creasey Stone, former resident of Newton County, member of the Deer Church of Christ, retired logger and farmer, and was preceded in death by one sister, Lorene Peoples; and one granddaughter, Julie Ann Stone.
Survivors include his widow, Alpha May Davis Stone; six children and spouses, James and Bernice Stone of Pelsor, Jerry Stone of Jasper, Ricky (Curtis) and Marla Stone of Harrison, Beverly and Wayne Cornwell of Knoxville, Teresa and Danny Campbell of Hagarville and Billy and Edie Stone of Hagarville; two sisters, Elsie Peoples of Pelsor and Dorothy Brown of Clarksville; 19 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, at the Deer School gymnasium with Jimmie McCut-
cheon officiating.
Burial will be in Curtis cemetery at Limestone under the direction of Coffman Funeral Home of Jasper.
Pallbearers will be Argus Stone, Robert Stone, Kenny Stone, Travis Stone, Michael Carney, Jamie Carney, Ritchie Stone, Tim Stone, Casey Campbell, Brandon Campbell, Eli Stone, and Preston Stone.

Barbara J. Clayborn

Barbara Jean Clayborn, 70, of Lamar died Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2002, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a native of Rifle, Colo., and daughter of the late William Arthur and Anna Mae Riggs Hamilton.
Survivors are her husband, Jimmy Clayborn; three daughters, Pat Loftgren of Kilgore, Texas, Donna Underwood of Longview, Texas, and Jean Rives of Oark; two sons, Larry Keys of Cedarville and Jimmy Eugene Clayborn of Dallas, Texas; five grandchildren, Stephanie Morse and Jeremy Keys, both of Cedarville, Chanthra Easley of Kilgore, Texas, Billy Clayborn of Longview, Texas, and Jimmy Rives of Oark; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bud Parsons officiating. Burial was in Lamar cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Danny Clayborn, Jackie Clayborn, Bobby Joe McAlister, Everett Ray McAlister, Harry Tilley, and Junior Clark.
Honorary pallbearers were Chris Easley, Jeremy Keys, Billy Clayborn and Jimmy Rives.

Clara R. Ehrlich

Interment for Clara Ruth Chrisman Ehrlich, 75, of Brooklyn, N. Y., will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 30, at the Houston cemetery in Altus.
She was a former resident of Coal Hill, widow of Milton Ehrlich, and was preceded in death by her mother, Margie Doss Chrisman.
Survivors include three daughters, Cecelya Keller, Linda Ehrlich and Rebekah Burke; five grandchildren, Shanna Keller, Shaun Keller, Liam Burke, Richard Burke and Amanda Burke; and seven cousins, Anice Simpson of Clarksville, Anabelle Phillips of Fort Smith, Alice Vardaman of Ozark, Wanda Linton of Texas, Edmond Bowman of San Jose, Calif., Kenneth Bowman of Fresno, Calif., and Anita Clark of Redding, Calif.

Clarence A. Lenhardt

Clarence Arnold Lenhardt, 79, of Reynoldsville, W. Va., died June 22, 2002.
He was born at Lutherville, the son of Henry Gustau and Meta Fricke Lenhardt, and was married to Joan Fox of Reynoldsville, W. Va., on May 9, 1952. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Fred and Alfred; and five sisters, Dora Dillion, Lillian Crimm, Esther Mauren, Bernice Willeford and Meta Lenhardt.
He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Cindy Lenhardt of Coldwater, Mich.; one daughter and son-in-law, Lou Ann and Jim Campbell of Marshville, W. Va.; one granddaughter and spouse, Erica (Campbell) and John Stillings of Morgantown, W. Va.; five grandsons and spouses, Jeremy and Sandy Lendhardt of Phoenix, Ariz., Jason and Meridith of Toledo, Ohio, Justin and Kate Lenhardt and Jacob Lenhardt, all of Coldwater, Mich.; one great-granddaughter; four great-grandsons; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Henry G. and Virginia Lenhardt of Little Rock and Herman (Boone) and Bernita Lenhardt of Lawton, Okla.; and four sisters, Ruth Baldwin of Soldonta, Alaska, Mrs. Troy (Norma) Hodges of Phoenix, Ariz., Mrs. Dee (Melba) Smithson of Grants Pass, Ore., and Mrs. Sherman (Carole) Waits of Little Rock.
Funeral was held at Clarksburg, W. Va., on June 25.

Dillon E. McMillan

Graveside services for Dillon Elmer McMillan, 87, of Lakeside, Calif., who died Aug. 29, 2002, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, at the Oark cemetery.
He is survived by one son, Paul McMillan of Lakeside, Calif.; two grandsons, Scott and Matthew McMillan of San Diego, Calif.; one great-grandson, Lance McMillan of San Diego, Calif.; three sisters, Jewell Smiddy of Springfield, Mo., Emozene Blount of Walkerton, Ind., and Edith Maness of Oran, Mo.; and one brother, Kermit McMillan of Springfield, Mo.

Fletcher P. Hill

Fletcher Preston (Ike) Hill, 82, of Fort Smith died Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2002.
He was born at Coal Hill to Herschel and Elizabeth Quaile Hill, served in the Air Force during World War II and retired from Civil Service in 1973. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen Toemmel Hill.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Hal Farnsworth of Carrollton, Texas, and Ellen and Al Caldwell of Fort Smith; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jack and Connie Hill of Great Bend, Kan., and Jim and Nancy Hill of Fort Smith; two sisters, Cohene Hill of Portland, Ore., and Gretchen Hill of Fort Smith; one brother and sister-in-law, Herschel and Lucille Hill of Coal Hill; two brothers-in-law, Wilson Williams of Fort Smith and Gerad Neihouse of Coal Hill; five grandchildren, Shannon Reininger, Corey Hill, Dean Hill, Dan Hill, and Doug Hill; one step-grandson, Bryan Groesbeck; five great-grandchildren, Jack D. Hill, Hanna Hill, Wade Hill, Travis Hill and Lauren Hill; and one step-great-granddaughter, Jacey Manning.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 20, at Fentress Mortuary Chapel in Fort Smith with Rev. Ron Williamson officiating. Burial was at the Fort Smith National cemetery.
Pallbearers were Dean Hill, Dan Hill, Doug Hill, Bryan Groesbeck, Keith Reininger and Gerad Neihouse.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.

Fannie M. Nubbie

Fannie Melissa Nubbie, 86, of Paris, mother of Bob Nubbie of Clarksville, died Monday, Sept. 23, 2002, in a Fort Smith hospital.
A native of Cabot, she was a daughter of the late Sam and Rose Burton Fields, widow of James Nubbie, retired cook, Methodist, and was preceded in death by one daughter, Ruth Roark; two stepdaughters, Blanche Tackett and Melvie Myrick; and five brothers.
She is survived by one daughter, Sally Maxwell of Ozark; one other son, Barney Nubbie of Westville, Okla.; one stepson, J. W. Nubbie of Marks, Miss.; one sister, Rosa Mae Sawyer of Wynne; two brothers, Barney Fields of Wynne and J. W. Fields of Hickory Ridge; 27 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; and companion, Hunter James Mason of Paris.
Graveside services and burial will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, at Highland cemetery under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, at Shaffer Funeral Home.

G. Donald Karstetter

George Donald Karstetter, 73, of Fayetteville, brother of Edra Dobbs of Clarksville, died Monday, Sept. 23, 2002, at his home.
He was a native of Silax, son of the late Forbin E. and Lena E. Dale Karstetter, former co-owner of Karstetter Glass and Body Shop from 1958-87, and attended Sycamore Baptist Church.
Survivors include his widow, Emma Sue Williams Karstetter; one son, Billy Don Karstetter of Fayetteville; one daughter, Patricia McCain of Broken Arrow, Okla.; two other sisters, Dala Peeples of Fayetteville and Willa Faye Williams of Marion; and five grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, at Sycamore Baptist Church with Rev. Russell Kelly and Rev. Norman Ross Jr. officiating.
Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens under the direction of Moore's Chapel of Fayetteville.
Visitation will be from 10-11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, at Moore's Chapel.

Olan J. Bowden

Olan James Bowden, 61, of Russellville died Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2002, at AMI St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville.
He was a son of the late James Garfield and Othel Kendrick Bowden, native of Russellville, United States Navy veteran having served four years at sea in the Atlantic Ocean during the Cuban crisis, and a retired employee of Goodyear Service Center in Russellville after 20 years of service. He was preceded in death by one brother, David Dixon; and one sister, Roxie Hale.
Survivors are his widow, Elizabeth Ann Bowden; two sons, Jim Bowden of Dardanelle and Jerry Bowden of Dover; one brother, Harold U. Dixon of Conway; one sister, Frances H. Donahou of Russellville; one stepbrother, Leon Ketcherside of Russellville; one stepsister, Katherine Underhill of Russellville; four grandchildren, Shelly, James, Jarrett and Hannah Bowden; and several nephews and nieces including Cathy Bourne.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20, at Shinn Funeral Service Chapel in Russellville with Rev. Bob Moore and Elder Harold Stumbaugh officiating. Burial was in Oakland cemetery at Russellville.
Active pallbearers were Brad Moore, Allan Criswell, Gary Carothers, David Carothers, Michael (Bo) Bolanis, and Ron Shaw.
Honorary pallbearers were employees of Goodyear.

Robert Q. Hill

Robert Quincy Lee (Bob) Hill, 56, of Clarksville died Monday, Sept. 16, 2002, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
He was a member of the Jamestown Assembly of God Church, trucker, son of the late Clarance Lee and Julia Lejuan Rosson Hill, and was preceded in death by one brother, James Wesley Hill.
Survivors include his widow, Jo Ann Boone Hill; one son, Archie Lee Hill of Clarksville; one brother, Wallace Hill of Ozark; mother-in-law, Minnie D. Boone of Clarksville; and one brother-in-law, Rev. Charles D. Boone of Clarksville.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rev. Charles Boone officiating. Burial was in McLaughlin cemetery in the Jethro Community north of Ozark.
Pallbearers were Harold Marlow, Jim Hill, Josh Hill, Bill Rain, Kenny Yates, and Gary Wilson.
