Charley Carter

Charley Carter, 84, of Clarksville died Monday, Aug. 12, 2002, at AMI St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville.
A native of the Jamestown Community, he was a son of the late Charley and Mary Catherine Martin Carter, machinist, and was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie Friend Carter; and one son, Charles D. Carter.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Nelson Sears of Clarksville; one sister, Lissie Carter of Clarksville; one grandson and spouse, John and Mitzi Sears of Clarksville; two great-grandchildren, Bayley and Dylan Sears of Clarksville; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services and burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, at Oakland cemetery with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, at Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Dorthy Jordan

Dorthy Jordan, 89, of Egypt, mother of Bessie Fagan, Robert Jordan and Doyle Jordan, all of Clarksville, died Tuesday, July 30, 2002, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Walnut Ridge.
Born at Blackfoot, Idaho, she lived most of her life in Egypt, and was preceded in death by her husband, David Jordan; and three grandchildren.
Other survivors include one son, James D. Jordan of Gainesville, Mo.; five daughters, Maudie Spurlock and Virginia Worley, both of Egypt, Lallie Blankenship of Kansas City, Mo., Thelma Becker of Jonesboro, and Elizabeth Tate of Judsonia; 23 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 2, at Egypt Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Tate and Rev. Ulysses Vandermolen officiating.
Burial was at Markham cemetery under the direction of Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home of Jonesboro.
Pallbearers were grandsons, Curt Jordan, Billy Jordan, Jimmy Starks, David Jordan, Robert Jordan, Darryl Worley, Tim Becker, and Perry Tate.

Deanna Roberson

Deanna Roberson, 75, of Coal Hill died Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2002, at her home.
She was a native of Oklahoma and widow of William H. Roberson.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary Farmer of Coal Hill; two sons, Patrick Innes and William Roberson, both of Coal Hill; four grandchildren, Della Hurst and Bradley Innes of Coal Hill and Shaun Kyle Innes and Waylon Innes of Clarksville; and one great-grandchild, Karley Davis of Coal Hill.
Graveside services and burial were at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, at the Hess cemetery at Coal Hill with Rev. John Kindrix officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Todd Davis, Bradley Innes, William Roberson, Waylon Innes, Shaun Kyle Innes, and Tim Trent.

Lorene Tipton Hickey

Lorene Tipton Hickey, 79, of Antioch, Calif., died Aug. 2, 2002.
She was a native of the Montana Community, daughter of the late Joseph and May Morris Tipton, attended school at Montana, Cold Water, and Hartman, married Bob (Buddy) Hickey in 1942 and moved to California where she had since resided. She was a retired janitorial employee for Constructional Homes and was preceded in death by two sisters, Lessie Martin of Oklahoma and Hazel Qualls of Dallas, Texas; and one brother, Russell Tipton of Napa, Calif.
She is survived by three sons, Larry of Antioch, Calif., and Jerry and Gary of Lodi, Calif.; one brother and sister-in-law, Harlan and Jean Tipton of Clarksville; two sisters, Ethel Bougher of Clarksville and Kay Frost of Conway; four grandchildren, Ryan, Rob, Michelle and Jennifer, all of California; two great-grandchildren; one other sister-in-law, Alvina Tipton of Napa, Calif.; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The body was cremated.

Madge M. Purser

Madge Marie Purser, 73, of Ada, Okla., died Sunday, Aug. 11, 2002.
She was a daughter of the late Claude Jefferson and Frankie Estell (Floyd) Dickerson and a native of El Dorado, Kan.
Survivors include her husband, Douglas George Purser; one son and daughter-in-law, Edward Lee and Dianne Harmon of Landrum, S. C.; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Cheryl Kay and William Stephens of Ozark and Latricia Ann Purser and Lynda Sue and Terry Walker, all of Ada, Okla.; two sisters, Gwendella Jones of North Little Rock and Barbara Clark of Fort Smith; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Graveside service were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, at the Blanchard cemetery with Rev. David Pickard officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home.

Rev. Odis Warren

Rev. Odis Warren, 89, of Lamar died Friday, Aug. 9, 2002, at Clarksville Convalescent Home.
He was a son of the late Franklin Scott and Anna Lund Warren, attended St. Paul Bible School in St. Paul, Minn., Dessie Scott Children's Home in Little Rock, retired in 1971 as a Church of the Nazarene minister after having pastored at Fort Douglas, Alix, Greenwood Chapel, Altus and Vinita, Okla., and was a caretaker of Pinecrest Camp at Ozone.
Survivors include his widow, Marcella Bernice Wang Warren; two daughters and sons-in-law, Marilyn and Michael Perry of Russellville and Joyce and Claude Ratliff of Roland, Okla.; one son and daughter-in-law, Rev. David and Ruth Warren of Coffeyville, Kan.; one sister and brother-in-law, Pearl and Lee Hilderbrand of California; four grandchildren; three nephews; and one niece.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rev. David Allen Warren and Rev. Glenn Newton officiating. Burial was at Hagarville cemetery.
Pallbearers were Nathan Warren, Michael Ratliff, Jonathan Ratliff, Gene Warren, Aaron Warren, and Bill Allen.
Memorials may be made to the New Hope Church of the Nazarene Building Fund, 316 East Cherry Street, Clarksville, AR 72830.

Ronald Liebschwager

Ronald Duane Liebschwager, 59, of Albuquerque, N. M., son-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Clinton and brother-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Dougan, all of Clarksville, died Tuesday, July 30, 2002, in Albuquerque, N. M.
He was a native of Columbus, N. M., where he was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, son of the late Fred H. and Viola Klaudt Liebschwager, attended Columbus High School, served in the U. S. Navy, former resident of San Angelo, Texas, Wichita Falls, Texas, and Corpus Christi, Texas, and was a retired mechanic and supervisor for Poole Well Service. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Loren, Larry, Leland and Jim Liebschwager; and one sister-in-law, Dorothy.
Other survivors include his widow, Sheila Reed Liebschwager; one daughter, Elise Jones of Georgia; two sons, Ron Casper of Minnesota and Rick Liebschwager of Texas; two stepsons, David Cleveland and Sammy Cleveland, both of Texas; three stepdaughters, Tacy Cleveland, Karla Kiser and Theresa Cornelius, all of Texas; nine grandchildren; two brothers, Richard L. (Goldyn) Liebschwager of Lake Havasu City, Ariz., and Ken Liebschwager of Omaha; two other sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Liebschwager of California and Kathy Liebschwager of Alabama.
Graveside services and burial were at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 5, at Roselawn cemetery in Columbus, N. M., with Rev. Douglas Zurek officiating. Military honors were by American Legion Hartman Post #84 honor guard and arrangements were under the direction of McKown Funeral Home of Columbus, N. M.

Susan T. Cunningham

Susan Temple Cunningham, 53, of Clarksville died Sunday, Aug. 11, 2002, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a native of Clarksville, daughter of the late Carroll (Cotton) and Helen Harmon Havener, member of the First United Methodist Church, Beta Sigma Phi, and Junior Auxiliary, counselor at Ozark Junior High School, selected to the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), and was preceded in death by one sister, Carol Lawless.
Survivors include her husband, Gary Cunningham; one daughter, Casey Cunningham of Clarksville; one son, Brad Cunningham of Clarksville; and one sister, Mikey Wiley of Van Buren.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Steve Wingo officiating. Burial will follow at 1 p.m. at the Salem cemetery at Plainview. Arrangements are under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be David Garrett, Rick Gage, Paul (Bo) Dean, Don Phillips, Randy Barrett, and Paul Mathis.

Tristan B. Vaught

Tristan Breanne Vaught, 8, of Farmington, great-granddaughter of Dennis and Bea Vaught of Clarksville, died Thursday, Aug. 8, 2002, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville.
She was a native of Fayetteville, second grade student at Holcomb Elementary School in Fayetteville, Poster Child for the United Way of Washington County, and was preceded in death by a great-grandfather, Eugene Sheldon.
Other survivors include her parents, Brian and Jalynn Vaught; one brother, Bryce Vaught of the home; maternal grandparents, Jay and Gena Pense of Fayetteville; paternal grandparents, Stanley and Frances Vaught of Fayetteville; maternal great-grandmother Velda Self of Fayetteville; great-grandmother, Elva Sheldon of Fayetteville; great-grandparents, Aaron and Velma Pense of Mountainburg; numerous aunts and uncles including James and Sonya Waddell of Bryant, Chris Vaught of Tontitown, Jason and Cindy Pense of Ozark, Mo., and Jeremy Pense of Fayetteville; and several cousins.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 12, at Living Faith Pentecostal Church of God with Dr. Buel Curtis and Pastor Steven Curtis officiating.
Burial was in Farmington cemetery under the direction of Beard's Funeral Chapel and Crematory of Fayetteville.
Active pallbearers were Jason Pense, Jeremy Pense, James Dean Waddell and Chris Vaught.
Honorary pallbearers were Leroy Belt and Johnny Philpot.
Memorials may be made to Living Faith Christian Church, 1315 Morningside Drive, Fayetteville, AR 72701.
