Gilbert Junior Dean, 52, of Clarksville died Sunday, April 20, 2003, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
He was self-employed, a Baptist, son of the late Gilbert C. and Barbara Boele Dean, and was preceded in death by one son, Bobby Dean; and one half-brother, Walter (Butch) Boele.
Survivors include his widow, Jennifer Matson Dean; two daughters, Maggie Dean and Tonya Dean, both of Great Bend, Kan.; three sons, Jeff Dean of Hays, Kan., Jonothan Dean of Wichita, Kan., and Scott Dean of Aurora, Ohio; one sister, Shirley Dean of Great Bend, Kan.; one brother, Billy Dean of Wichita, Kan.; and two grandchildren, Kendra Dean and Wyatt Dean, both of Sumter, S. C.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 26, at Roller-Cox Chapel.
George H. Lang
George Herman Lang, 50, of Clarksville died Thursday, April 17, 2003, at his home.
He was a former employee of Bright Harvest Sweet Potato, son of the late Henry Lang, native of Concord, Calif., and graduate of San Jose (California) High School.
Survivors include his widow, Sue Lang; three daughters, Andrea Lang and Erika Lang, both of Clarksville, and Shana Grandstaff of Toulemne, Calif.; mother, Vivian Lang of San Jose, Calif.; and two sisters, Janice Lang of San Jose, Calif., and Jeanne Lang Reynolds of Belgium.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 23, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with Rev. Terry Schlinker officiating.
The body was cremated.
James A. Adams
James A. Adams, 68, of Lamar died Friday, April 18, 2003, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
He was an Army veteran, Protestant, truck driver, superintendent for Singer and Precission Pallet Company, and son of the late John A. and Ruth Carter Adams.
Survivors include his widow, Jackie Rutledge Adams; one niece, Danika Lyl of Paris; and one great-niece, Brittany Lyl of Paris.
Funeral was at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating. Burial was in Minnow Creek cemetery.
Pallbearers were George Palmer, Odell Kimes, James Paxton, Troy Taylor, Bob Frost, and Mike Buckner.
Lula B. Schuh
Lula Bean Schuh, 82, of Clarksville died Monday, April 21, 2003.
She was a native of Clarksville, daughter of the late Arch and Olsetta Storms Bean, graduate of Clarksville High School, member of the Church of Christ, manager of Michie School cafeteria for seven years, manager and dietitian for the University of the Ozarks cafeteria for 28 years, and past president of the Business and Professional Women's Club. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Arvid and Raymond Bean; and two sisters, Jewel Roberts and Neita Conway.
Survivors are one daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Charles Doty of Lexington, Ky.; one son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. John Philip (Mary Ann Rowbotham) Schuh VI of Clarksville; one brother and sister-in-law, Garland and Maxine Bean of Clarksville; five grandchildren, Tana Blair, Kimberly Casto, Holly Doty, Paula Talley, and John Schuh VII; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday, April 25, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with Rev. Fay Bennett officiating. Burial will be in Oakland cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Eddie Bean, Arvid Bean, Paul Bean, Roger Hume, Robert Bean, and John Philip Schuh VII.
Honorary pallbearers will be Don Pennington, Ken Nelson, and Eddie Brooke.
Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. Thursday, April 24, at Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Mack Yates
Mack Yates, 88, of Clarksville died Saturday, April 19, 2003, at Clarksville Convalescent Home.
He was a son of the late Lorenzo and Maude Acord Yates, Baptist, and retired Eureka Brick and Tile Company employee.
Survivors are his widow, Edith Vire Yates; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Glenda and Lee Zeiler of Clarksville, Marcella Langley of Piggott, Wanda and Bruce Roberts of Arlington, Texas, and Lavella and Jim Hale of Russellville; one brother, Herla Yates of Oark; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, April 21, at the Woodland Baptist Church with Rev. Micheal Sawyer, Rev. Sam Howell, and Rev. Clyde Vire officiating.
Burial was in Woodland cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers were Kyle Johnson, Lance Langley, Blue Mack Zeiler, Dustin Zeiler, Lewis Mordue, Jared Langley, and Doug Manning.

Rinthie Yates
Rinthie Yates, 90, of Wichita, Kan., formerly of Johnson County, died Wednesday, April 16, 2003.
She was retired after 20 years of service with Sedgwick County Schools as a cafeteria employee, previously Wolfe's Cafeteria, former Oark cafeteria employee, member of Sunnyside Baptist Church, the Bible Alive.Com Sunday school class, former toddler and nursery teacher for many years at Hillside Baptist Church, member of Ivy Leaf Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, widow of Grover Yates, and was preceded in death by an infant son; one daughter, Eula M. Davis; son-in-law, Marion Laverty; four brothers; and three sisters.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Margie and Jimmie Carter of Leesburg, Ga., Artie Laverty of Mesquite, Texas, and Bill Davis of Wichita, Kan.; sister and brother-in-law, Edith and Mack Yates of Clarksville; six grandchildren, Kathy Young, Teresa Gleason, Dawna Raper, Ronnie Carter, Carroll Dorminey, Stephanie Carter; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services were at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 17, at Resthaven Mortuary and cemetery in Wichita, Kan.

Sheila Edwards
Sheila Edwards, 55, of Ozark, sister of Vanessa Hawkins of Coal Hill, died Saturday, April 12, 2003, in a Little Rock hospital.
She was a native of England, inspector for the United States Department of Agriculture, a Pentecostal, and was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenny and Gary Skinner.
She is survived by one daughter, Kelly Ramsey of Humnoke; one son, Robbie Edwards of Altus; parents, Cloy and Earline Ryan Skinner of Altus; one other sister, Wendy Sheppard of Ozark; one brother, Allen Skinner of Altus; and five grandchildren.
Funeral was at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 15, at The Lighthouse Church in Ozark with Rev. Robin Hood and Kevin Nobles officiating.
Burial was in Mountain View cemetery under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.
Pallbearers were Clay and Chris Edwards, Phillip Helmert, Todd Carter, Henry Raney and Darren Hood.
Allen Dan Anderson
Allen Dan Anderson, 65, of Mountaintop, Pa., died Thursday, April 10, 2003, at his home.
A native of Clarksville, he was a son of the late Leonard H. and Lillian Allen Anderson, employed as a security guard for several years, plant manager for Tyson Foods, veteran of the Vietnam War, and served in the U. S. Army for 22 years having retired as a staff sergeant in 1977.
He is survived by two daughters, Kim Anderson of Mountaintop, Pa., and Carol Anderson of the United States Air Force; two sons, Danny Anderson of New York City, N. Y., and Tony Anderson of Sacramento, Calif.; two sisters, Deborah King of California and Dale Husak of Sacramento, Calif.; two brothers, Dean Anderson of Bee Branch and Don Anderson of Oklahoma; and two grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with burial in the Stillwell cemetery.
Emily Kenner
Emily Kenner, infant daughter of Gary Richard and Belinda Kay Cochran Kenner, was born and died on Tuesday, April 8, 2003, at UAMS in Little Rock.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Sarah Kenner.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by one brother, Devin Kenner of Knoxville; paternal grandmother, Mickey Kenner of Knoxville; maternal grandmother and step grandfather, Linda and Larry Pruitt of Russellville; maternal grandfather and step grandmother, William and Nancy Cochran of Russellville; and maternal great-grandmother, Wanza Vinson of Russellville.
Graveside services and burial were at 1 p.m. Monday, April 14, at the Knoxville cemetery with Rev. Herb Tilley officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
