Phyllis M. Collins

Phyllis M. Collins, 81, of Clarksville died Monday, March 24, 2003, in Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a native of Waldenburg, daughter of the late Roy Elton and Laura Frances Skinner Frank, widow of Roy M. Collins, and member of First Baptist Church.
She is survived by three daughters and one son-in-law, Amanda Kilcrease and Lynda Hickenbottom, both of Clarksville, and Patricia and Arlon Horn of Harrisonville; one sister, Claudine Reiman of Waldenburg; one brother, Bob Frank of Phoenix, Ariz.; six grandchildren, Michelle Puridon and Michael Hickenbottom, both of Clarksville, Ashlee Nichols of Oklahoma, John Horn and Christie Horn, both of Kansas, and Joanna Keeble of Missouri; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 27, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel.
The body was cremated.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, at Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Rowland Clark

Rowland Clark, 74, of Dover died Sunday, March 23, 2003, at AMI St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville.
He was a native of Lamar, son of the late Brooks and Dovie Matthews Clark, employee of the U. S. Forestry Service for 27 years, attended the Gospel Lighthouse Pentecostal Church and was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth Clark; and one sister, Rosezetta Jones.
Survivors include his widow, Helen Clark; one stepdaughter and spouse, Connie and Gene Fillion of Dover; three stepsons, Allen Standridge and Kevin Standridge, both of Dover, and Carl Standridge and wife, Marilyn, of Russellville; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, at the Gospel Lighthouse Pentecostal Church with Rev. Bob Freeman officiating.
Burial will be in Annie's Chapel cemetery under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service of Russellville.
Pallbearers will be Danie Humphrey, Phillip Humphrey, Pete Akers, Kenneth Riggs, George Riggs, and R. L. Williams.

Robert E. McDougal

Robert Eugene McDougal, 68, of Clarksville died Sunday, March 9, 2003, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
He was a farmer, son of the late Wesley McDougal, and was preceded in death by his wife, Eva C. McDougal; one sister, Elizabeth McDougal; and one brother, Frank McDougal.
Survivors include one daughter, Kay Smith of Mill Springs, Mo.; two sons, Garry McDougal of San Francisco, Calif., and Ron McDougal of El Paso, Texas; mother, Lillie McDougal of Lawrenceburg, Tenn.; one sister, Ruby Gower of Spicewood, Texas; two brothers, Dean McDougal of Arlyrd, Mo., and Wesley McDougal of Attica, Ind.; and companion, Thelma Clark of Clarksville.
The body was cremated.
Local arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Toni B. King

Toni B. King, 70, of Clarksville died Sunday, March 23, 2003, at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock.
She was a daughter of the late James and Johnnie Ramsey Coburn, member and Sunday school teacher of Cherry Street Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda.
Survivors include her husband, Mel King; one son, Timothy King of Cass City, Mich.; two sisters, Ruby Allen and Mary Owen, both of Houston, Texas; four grandchildren, David King, Jennifer King, Nicholas King and Timothy King; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, at the Cherry Street Baptist Church with Rev. Rusty Bushong officiating.
Burial will be in Stillwell cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

C. William Garland

Charles William (Bill) Garland, 63, of Clarksville died Monday, March 24, 2003, at his home.
He was a son of the late John and Easter Wilburn Garland, retired Clarksville Light and Water Company employee, former supervisor of Singer Company, and member of the Landmark Missionary Baptist Church for 42 years where he was also an usher and Sunday school teacher for 35 years. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Juanita King Southard and Tessie Evelyn Williams.
Survivors include his widow, Linda Sue Walker Garland; two daughters and sons-in-law, Shelly and Mike Bean and Terri and Greg Clinebell, all of Clarksville; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Lillie Mae Dixon, Willive and Walter Nowotny, and Ancil Williams, all of Clarksville; one brother, Bob Garland of Burleson, Texas; four grandchildren, Alex Bryant, Dillon Bean, Nick Bean, and Amanda Clinebell, all of Clarksville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 27, at the Landmark Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Vernon Bass and Rev. Gary Blair officiating.
Burial will be in Minnow Creek cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers will be Ronnie Ashlock, Norman Fortney, Darrell Wheeler, Clayton Caldwell, Bill Stewart, and Cathy Stalcup.
Honorary pallbearers will be Elaine Ashlock, Jimmie Fortney, Joann Brown, Bob Hatchett, Johnny Hatchett, Leroy Cotton, and the Clarksville Light and Water Company employees.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Walter L. Looper

Walter L. Looper, 69, of Clarksville died Tuesday, March 18, 2003, at his home.
He was born at Ludwig, son of the late Samuel Harris and Inez Irene Shelton Looper, Methodist, attended Clarksville Schools, cattleman, member of the Arkansas Cattlemen's Association and the Texas County Feeders Association, Army veteran, an AAU and Golden Gloves Boxing Champion and was Johnson County Sheriff from 1967-72.
Survivors are his widow, Cecelia Rinke Looper; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Terry and Jennifer Looper of Van Buren, and Christopher and Keri Looper and Gary Looper, all of Clarksville; one brother, Jack Looper of Memphis, Tenn.; and seven grandchildren, Cameron Looper, Collin Looper, Amber Looper, Tyler Looper and Ashlyn Looper, all of Clarksville, Alison Looper Lloyd of Arlington, Texas, and Nicholas Looper of Van Buren.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Friday, March 21, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with Sheriff Wes Kendrick, Billy Lloyd, and Sister Carol Ann Corley officiating. Burial was in the Shady Grove cemetery.
Pallbearers were Claud Dougan, Don Dougan, Larry Griffin, Varnel Nelson, John Blackburn, Ben Alfred Hardgrave, Carl Kirshberger, and Lee James Buckner.

Cleta H. Evans

Cleta H. Evans, 90, of Coal Hill died Wednesday, March 12, 2003, at Mercy Hospital/Turner Memorial in Ozark.
She was a native of the Center Point Community, daughter of the late Erastus and Mary Kelly Bartlett, widow of Jasper Evans, retired employee of Kim's, and was preceded in death by one daughter, Wanda Hamilton.
She is survived by one daughter, Delia Sisk of Coal Hill; three brothers, Doug Bartlett and Russell Bartlett, both of Fort Smith, and Junior Bartlett of Coal Hill; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial were at 2 p.m. Friday, March 14, at the Hess cemetery with Rev. Gerald Morris officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Claudia Parton

Claudia (Nikki) Parton, 17, of Hartman died Saturday, March 15, 2003, at St. Edward Mercy Medical Center in Fort Smith.
She was a native of Fort Smith, senior at Westside High School and member of the Assembly of God Church.
Survivors are her parents, Mike and Wanda (Roland) Parton of Hartman; paternal grandparents, J. W. and Mary Sears of Clarksville; maternal grandmother, Velda Roland of Ozark; one sister, Angela Bowman of Ozark; and one brother, Jesse Parton of the home.
Graveside services and burial will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 20, at the Hixon cemetery with Rev. Mike Birdsong officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, at Shaffer Funeral Home.

Dorothy L. Dower

Dorothy Lois Clark Dower, 93, of Lamar, formerly of Santa Rosa, Calif., died Wednesday, March 12, 2003, at Clarksville Convalescent Home.
She was a native of Jackson, Mich., former resident of Washington, D. C., where she became a registered nurse, and widow of Roland Milton Dower.
She is survived by two daughters, R. Maureen Dower and Barbara L. Theile; and nine grandchildren.
Her cremains are being sent to Santa Rosa, Calif., where a memorial service will be held.
