Deanna Wilson Brasel

Deanna Wilson Brasel, 38, of Coal Hill died Sunday, Jan. 19, 2003, at Sparks Regional Medical Center in Fort Smith.
A native of Ozark, she was a 1982 graduate of Coal Hill High School, 1984 graduate of Arkansas Valley Technical Institute in Ozark with a degree in licensed practical nursing, and a member of the Fernwood Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include her husband, Paul Brasel; one daughter, Chelsea Brasel of the home; one son, Holden Brasel of the home; parents, Jim and Velma Wilson of Coal Hill, grandparent, Betty Underwood; one sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Mel Bunkers of Scottsdale, Ariz.; one niece and nephew, Blythe and Samuel Bunkers of Scottsdale, Ariz.; and one cousin, John Wilson of Tinker Air Force Base in Del City, Okla.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with Rev. Travis George officiating with burial in the Coal Hill cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Joe B. Hurst, Don Bartlett, Denton James, Doug Morris, Jamie Pierce, and Wes Mitchell.
Memorials may be made to the Fernwood Assembly of God Church, 1533 CR 2305, Hartman, AR 72840.

Rev. Gorman K. Daniel

Rev. Gorman K. Daniel, 87, of Midway (Subiaco) died Saturday, Jan. 18, 2003, at St. Vincent Infirmary in Little Rock.
He was a native of Lamar, son of the late John D. and Chlodesa Tennie (Patterson) Daniel, and an ordained Assembly of God minister, who retired after having served four terms with the Midway Assembly of God Church from 1942-1983. He also served as an executive presbyter of the Assemblies of God for 14 years. His ministry spanned a period of 67 years with all being in Arkansas with the exception of three years in the state of Tennessee. During his ministry, he and his wife went on several mission trips to Latin America in addition to his conducting numerous weddings, funerals, Memorial Day services and preaching at many other denominations in the area.
He was preceded in death by one son, Ronnie Franklin Daniel; three brothers; and two sisters.
Survivors include his widow of over 68 years, Imogene Siota Stumbaugh Daniel; three sons and two daughters-in-law, James D. Daniel of Cordele, Ga., Lawrence K. and Sandra Daniel and Dewey and DeLetta Daniel, all of Van Buren; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Dorothy L. and Harold Davison of Subiaco, W. June Daniel and Linda P. and Gary France, all of Little Rock, and Mary Katherine (Kay) and Brad Andler of Jasper, Ind.; one brother and sister-in-law, James Burrell and Loletta Daniel of Knoxville; one sister, Mary Katherine Green of Palmdale, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22, at the First Assembly of God Church in Paris with Rev. Bobby Johnson and Rev. C. L. Haston officiating followed by graveside services and burial at 2 p.m. at the Annie's Chapel cemetery east of Hagarville. Arrangements are under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service of Russellville.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Memorials may be made to the Midway Assembly of God Church Building Fund, 13076 East State Highway 22, Subiaco, AR 72865.

Jane Brazil Clemons

Jane Brazil Clemons, 97, died Friday, Jan. 17, 2003, in Fort Worth, Texas.
She was a daughter of the late Aterson Marion and Ida Bell Patterson Brazil, attended the University of the Ozarks, widow of W. B. (Ben) Clemons, member of the Oak Hurst United Methodist Church, lifetime member of the United Methodist Women, longtime member of the Order of Eastern Star, and was study leader for the Riverside Reviewer Club.
Survivors include three nephews, Harold Teague of Fort Worth, Texas, Leonard Teague of Johnson, and Frank Clemmons of Clarksville; and four nieces, Dorothy Salminen of Dallas, Texas, Marian Blythe of Grand Prairie, Texas, Carole Zahnd of Maryville, Mo., and Bennie Dean Morris of Conway.
Funeral was Monday, Jan. 20, in Fort Worth, Texas.

James E. Vaughn

James Ellis (Buck) Vaughn, 91, of Clarksville died Sunday, Jan. 19, 2003, at his home.
A native of Prescott, he was a son of the late Omega and Myrtie Sneed Vaughn, farmer in eastern Arkansas until 1998, when he retired and moved to Clarksville, member of Twin Oaks Missionary Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by one son, Jimmy.
Survivors are his widow, Annie Vaughn; three sons, Mickey Vaughn of Ashdown, Charles Brown of Forrest City, and Troy Vaughn of Clarksville; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, at Monroe Baptist Church with Rev. Kirby Vaughn officiating.
Burial was in the Blackton cemetery at Monroe under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers were Mark Vaughn, Michael Vaughn, Edgar Fowler, Marvin Wilson, Billy Dunavan, and Mike Wilhite.
Honorary pallbearers were Buddy Hearn, John Nast, Harold Brady, Sam McClure, Eddie Sikes, and Earl Kirby.

Louise B. Cagle

Louise Bartlet Cagle, 83, of Lamar died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2003, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a native of Johnson County, widow of Harley Bartlett and C. B. Cagle, member of Lamar Baptist Church and member and past matron of Lamar Chapter No. 516 Order of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by one nephew, Kenneth Johnson of Lamar; and two nieces, Frances Lindstad of Lamar and Doris Morgan of Victoria, Texas.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with Rev. Clyde Vire officiating. Burial was in Lamar cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jim Cole, Robert Bartlett, Kenneth Johnson Jr., Wayne Hickey, Joe Hickey, and Don Cagle.

Lee M. Newton

Lee M. Newton, 80, of Clarksville died Monday, Jan. 20, 2003, at Clarksville Convalescent Home.
He was a retired carpenter, veteran of the American Merchant Marine, charter member of Stillwell Bible Baptist Church, and son of the late Jesse Lee and Eva Underwood Newton.
Survivors are his widow, Beth Baskin Newton; one daughter, Donna Hudson of Van Buren; two sons, David Newton of Odessa, Texas, and Doug Newton of Easley, S. C.; two sisters, Louise Lewis and Avo Hinson, both of Clarksville; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, at the Stillwell Bible Baptist Church with Rev. James Goodman officiating.
Burial with military honors will be in Stillwell cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers will be Bob Bean, Kerry Sears, Joel Cooper, Phillip Sexton, Levon Bean, and Wendell Sears.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dale Meek, Donald Meek, Bob Hurley, Lee Jack Sexton, John Kenneth Askins, and David Lasater.

Lucille R. Turbeville

Lucille Rogers Turbeville, 56, of Freeport, Texas, died Thursday, Jan. 16, 2003, at the Brazosport Memorial Hospital in Lake Jackson, Texas.
She was a native of Clarksville, daughter of the late Ernest Arthur and Ora Mae Broomfield Rogers, attended Clarksville High School, former resident of Russellville, graduate of Capitol City Business College in Russellville, former employee of Con-Agra Foods in Russellville and the Singer Company in Clarksville, and a member of the River Valley Independent Baptist Church in Russellville. She was preceded in death by one sister, Ruth Felkins.
Survivors include her husband, Ron Turbeville; two sons, Ernest Price of Newborn, Ga., and Shane Price of Ewa Beach, Hawaii; one daughter, Brenda Harvey of Russellville; three sisters, Ernesteen Green of Mesa, Ariz., and Florence Gummow and Carolyn King, both of Wichita, Kan.; and seven grandchildren, Jonathan Lowder and Thomas Lowder, both of Russellville, Lyndsie Price and Desira Rowe, both of Pinellas Park, Fla., Bailey Price and Camden Price, both of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, and Skyler Price of Newborn, Ga.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, at Shinn Chapel in Russellville with Pastor Max King officiating. Burial was in Oakland cemetery at Clarksville.
Active pallbearers were Jonathan Lowder, Thomas Lowder, Roger King, Stephen King, Clint Brown, and Allen Thornberry.
Honorary pallbearers were Thomas Turbeville Jr., John Turbeville and Thomas Jason Turbeville.

Lola H. Yandell

Lola Harding Yandell, 73, of Fort Worth, Texas, died Monday, Jan. 20, 2003.
She was a native of Clarksville, daughter of the late O. C. and Daisy Harding, graduate of Clarksville High School, and a retired hairdresser.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, James Yandell; one son, Patrick Yandell of Granbury, Texas; one daughter, Teresa Ashley of Fort Worth, Texas; three grandsons; and two great-grandchildren.
Private services were held and entombment was at Greenwood Mausoleum under the direction of Greenwood Funeral Home of Fort Worth, Texas.
Memorials may be made to Community Hospice of Texas, 6100 Western Place, Suite 500, Fort Worth, TX 76107.

Oma Lee Jaggers

Oma Lee Jaggers, 90, of Clarksville died Monday, Jan. 20, 2003, in a Clarksville nursing home.
A native of Vera, Texas, she was a daughter of the late E. G. and Lannie Cooper Sosebee, widow of Haskell Jaggers, owner and operator of Jaggers Store two miles north of Hartman for many years, charter member of First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church where she taught a Sunday school class for 25 years, and was preceded in death by one grandson, Roger Smith; four brothers; and one sister.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Arlene and Phillip Vanover of Clarksville; one son and daughter-in-law, J. L. and Willa Jaggers of Clarksville; one sister, Sylvia Allred of Ozark; two grandsons, Michael Smith and Phillip Vanover, both of Clarksville; four granddaughters, Leah Bridgewater of Clarksville, Marsha Smith of Conway, Cynthia Robertson of Gunbarrell City, Texas, and Tamla Hanson of Paris, Texas; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
Funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22, at the Landmark Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Vernon Bass and Rev. Ransom Storms officiating.
Burial will be in the West Mount Zion cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers were Darrell Wheeler, Phil Vanover, Kenny Bridgewater, Harrison Allred, Roger Smith Jr., and Don Allen Sosebee.
Honorary pallbearers will be Wendell Lee and Rip Teal.
