Ernest Lee Bohannon
Ernest Lee Bohannon, 59, of Coal Hill died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2003, at his home.
He was a timber employee and son of the late James Henry and Martha Susan Case.
Survivors include his fiancee, Alice Vandenberg of Altus; one daughter, Jennifer McCormick of Clarksville; one son, Teddy Ray Bohannon of Ozone; three sisters, Margaret E. Vaught and Argie Beeman, both of Clarksville, and Ruby Watson of Springdale; one brother, Odean Boen of Lamar; and three grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, at the Oark cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers will be Ronnie Bohannon, Wayne Vaught, Bruce Holman, Teddy Bohannon, Robert Vaught, and Dustin Boren.
Honorary pallbearers will be G. W. Vaught, Randall Bohannon, Junior Ashlock, Bill Bohannon, Jerry Bohannon, and Don Edgar.
Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Gladys Buffington
Gladys Sanders Buffington, 80, of Clarksville died Friday, Dec. 5, 2003, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
A native of Nashoba, Okla., she was a daughter of the late Joseph Levi and Dora Kindrix Sanders, member of Trinity Chapel Pentecostal Church of God, and was preceded in death by two husbands, William (Bill) Combs and James Boyd Buffington; one son, James Allen Combs; one daughter, Deloris Ann Forrester; one brother; and five sisters.
She is survived by two daughters, Kaye Jones and Myrna Fitzgerald, both of Clarksville; two sons, Timothy Edward Buffington of Pine Bluff and Henry Adrain Combs of Alma; one sister, Ruby Lee Staggs of Mena; one brother, Warren G. Sanders of Colorado; 23 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 8, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with Rev. Terry Schlinker officiating. Burial was in Lamar cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jody Arrowood, Albert Arrowood, Daniel Combs, Samuel Combs, Henry Combs, and David Fitzgerald.
Herbert G. Pentzer Sr.
Herbert George Pentzer Sr., 85, of Franklin, Kan., brother of Gerald A. Pentzer and Alice I. Auterson of Clarksville, died Friday, Dec. 5, 2003, in the Hospital District No. 1 in Girard, Kan.
A native of Chanute, Kan., he was a son of Herbert and Georgia Faye Williamson Pentzer, former resident of Ponca City, Okla., where he attended school, attended the Gross Community Church in Gross, Kan., was employed in Wichita, Kan., and California prior to moving to Pittsburg, Kan., in 1975, where he was an employee of Midwest Minerals. He was preceded in death by two sons, Herbert George Pentzer Jr. and Robert Joseph Pentzer; one daughter, Christine Pentzer; and two brothers, Robert E. Williamson and Roger Pentzer.
Survivors are four stepsons, George W. Kaemmerling Jr. of Pittsburg, Kan., Ace Allen Kaemmerling of Liberal, Mo., Herman Gene Kaemmerling of Lincoln, Neb., and Billy Joe Kaemmerling of Nebraska; three stepdaughters, Sheral Elaine Vest of Fairplay, Mo., Darlene Maxine Rothfuss of Pawnee Station, Kan., and Alice Kay Buschkamp of Bloomfield, Neb.; one other sister, Aeileen Speer of Vian, Okla.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral was at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9, at Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Girard, Kan., with Rev. Merle Wood officiating. Burial was in Earlton cemetery near Chanute, Kan.
Hilario Vazquez
Hilario Vazquez, 41, of Clarksville died Monday, Dec. 1, 2003, at University Hospital South Texas Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas.
He was a native of Zacatecas, Mexico, member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, and a cook.
Survivors include his widow, Dora Vazquez; four daughters, Rebecca Vazquez, Maria A. Vazquez, Jacqueline Vazquez, and Giselle Vazquez, all of Clarksville; four sons, Richard Vazquez, Hilario Vazquez Jr., Salvador Vazquez, and Jose I. Vazquez, all of Clarksville; parents, Jose I. and Rebeca Vazquez of Mexico; four sisters; and six grandchildren.
Funeral was at 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church with Rev. William Wewers, O.S.B., officiating.
Burial was in the Holy Redeemer Catholic cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Gustavo, Ricardo, Jesus, Hilario Jr., Manuel, and Jorge.
Jewell Nuckolls
Jewell Mae Nuckolls, 85, of Ozark, twin sister of Ewell Magby of Clarksville, died Thursday, Nov. 27, 2003, at Fort Smith.
A native of Mountain Top, she was a daughter of the late William and Lillie Umholtz Magby, widow of Owen (Bud) Nuckolls, and was preceded in death by six brothers and four sisters.
Survivors include one daughter, Phyllis Suter of Russellville; two sons, Dennis Nuckolls of Dyer and Dellis Nuckolls of Ozark; two other brothers, Carl Magby of Porum, Okla., and Hanford Magby of Anderson, Ind.; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 1, at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel in Ozark with Rev. Steve Sawrie officiating. Burial was at Oak Grove cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Robert Magby, Benny Magby, John Magby, Arden Magby, Henry Cagle and Charles Cagle.
Honorary pallbearers were Wayne Magby, Harmon Cagle, Bill Alexander and Danny Stepp.
Anna Lorene Bean
Anna Lorene Bean, 82, of Clarksville died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2003, at Clarksville Convalescent Home.
She was a daughter of the late Robert Lee and Ruth Angeline Carlisle Yates, widow of Earl D. Bean, member of East Mount Zion Trinity Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by one son, Bobby Don Bean; and one granddaughter, Theresa Johanna Bean.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn L. and R. L. Williams of Clarksville; two sons and daughters-in-law, Billy Earl and Karen Bean of Springdale and Gary O. and Donna Bean of Cottonwood, Ariz.; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, at the East Mount Zion Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Robbie Jackson officiating.
Burial was at Lone Pine cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Lillie M. Kelley
Lillie M. Kelley, 72, died Thursday, Dec. 4, 2003, at Southridge Village Nursing and Rehab in Heber Springs.
She was a daughter of the late C. F. (Clarence) and May Horton Haggard and had lived the past 20 years in the Clarksville area. She was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers.
Survivors include her husband, Daniel F. Kelley; one son, Daniel Lee Kelley of Heber Springs; three brothers, Henry Haggard of Walbash, Ind., and Ray Haggard and Johnny Haggard, both of Heber Springs; and seven sisters, Mary Bogard of Jonesboro, Ethel Stanturf of Fort Smith, and Margie Akers, Dorothy Bufford, Lola Ward, Frankie Thomas and Margaret Lawson, all of Heber Springs.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 8, at Olmstead Funeral Home Chapel in Heber Springs with Rev. Raymond Stroud and Rev. J. C. Thomas officiating. Interment was in Antioch cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Dale Meek, Bob Hurley, Bobby Hurley, G. W. Vaught, Roy Shook and Larry Bogard.

Lena Y. Morris
Lena Yearwood Morris, 83, of Clarksville died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2003, at her home.
She was a native of Clarksville, daughter of the late Robert and Ada Howell Yearwood, widow of Charles E. Morris; graduate of Clarksville High School, attended the University of the Ozarks, and was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include three nephews, Gary Bryant of Hot Springs Village, John Sallis of Springdale, and Phillip Morris of Nashville, Tenn.; three nieces, Betty Fiser of Memphis, Tenn., Vickie Frye of Michigan, and Chris Yerby of Russellville; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Steve Wingo officiating.
Burial was in Oakland cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Carey Clark, John Hern, Andrew Hull, Gene Morris, Morris Pearson, and Floyd B. Dickerson.
Lenora Nell Powell
Lenora Nell Powell, 87, of Mt. Pleasant, S. C., mother of Pruellen Patterson Pratt of Clarksville, died Monday, Dec. 8, 2003, in Mt. Pleasant, S. C.
Born in North, S. C., she was a daughter of the late Otto Elmore and Ella Mack Goodwin and formerly a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Orangeburg, S. C. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Lila O'Neal and Nomie Johnson and three brothers, Odell Goodwin, Coleman Grady Goodwin, and Hartman Goodwin.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, George Coleman and Dorothy Patterson of Lake Cormorant, Miss.; one other daughter and son-in-law, Sandra (Patterson) and Carroll Furman (Pete) Wrenn of Isle of Palms, S. C.; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home in Lexington, S. C., with Rev. John McKeown officiating. Burial will be at Celestial Memorial Gardens.
