Moody D. Cromer Jr.
Moody Donald Cromer Jr., 75, of Lamar died Saturday, Dec. 6, 2003, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
He was a native of Clarksville, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Moody David (Gladys Pearson) Cromer Sr., graduate of Lamar High School, served in the U. S. Army for one year, retired postal clerk at Lamar Post Office, former employee of Clarksville Machine Works, former Farm Bureau board member and Lamar School board director, member of the Gideons and Lamar Baptist Church where he was a former deacon, trustee, honorary charter member and church training director, and was preceded in death by one sister and brother-in-law, Eula and Boyd Bacchus.
Survivors include his widow, Nina Opitz Cromer; one daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Ronnie Zachary of Lamar; one son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Theresa Cromer of Lamar; two brothers-in-law and spouses, Walter and Judy Opitz and Quinton and Dona Opitz, all of Ft. Cobb, Okla.; two grandchildren, Chadd and Brandi Cromer of Lamar; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9, at Lamar Baptist Church with Rev. Clyde Vire and Rev. Bill Milam officiating.
Burial was in the Holman cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers were Glen Fortenberry, Robert Nichols, Norman Reynolds, Gene Dutton, Roger Ost, Shelby Robinson, Tracy Price, Don Cowell and Rick Harmon.
Honorary pallbearers were the Men's Sunday School class and deacons of Lamar Baptist Church and Chadd Cromer.
Oliver R. Cummings
Oliver Reade Cummings, two and one-half months old, died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2003, at his home in Coal Hill.
He was preceded in death by great-grandparents, Melvin List and Viola Doolittle.
Survivors include his parents, Amanda Sue Doolittle and Jonny James Holt of Coal Hill and Curtis L. Cummings of Ozark; two sisters, Holleigh Renae Cummings and Dafnee Reign Cummings, both of the home; grandparents, Edward and Peggy Domerese of Coal Hill, Bill and Audrey Doolittle of Virginia, Mary and George Workman of Mountain Home; Henry and Iris Holt and Donnie and Laura Wood, all of Clarksville, Cathy and Brian Cummings of Colorado and Carl Cummings of Mansfield; and great-grandparents, Dane and Linda Domerese of Coal Hill, Martha and Doyle Turner of Hartman, Charles Guess of Oark, Rick and Arlene Anderson and Florence List, all of Iowa, Ed Wood of Clarksville, Betty Cummings of Fort Smith, Rosa Holt of Jackson, Ohio, and Helen McGuire of Ray, Ohio.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, at the Cross Roads Assembly of God Church with Rev. Gerald Morris officiating.
Burial will be in Shady Grove cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers will be Jonathan Harlan and Jeremy Holt.
Honorary pallbearers will be Eddie Domerese II, Bobby Holt, Holleigh Cummings, Matthew Pledger, Brad Ellison and Dafnee Cummings.
Ova Huddleston
Ova Huddleston, 78, of Paris, whose son and daughter-in-law, Ronald D. and Elaine Huddleston, reside in Lamar, died Friday, Dec. 5, 2003, at Paris Health and Rehab.
She was a native of Indian Creek, former resident of Russellville, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Archie (Delia Ann Clayborn) Clayton Sr., member of the First Assembly of God Church in Russellville, retired employee of AMI St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville, and was preceded in death by an infant son, Boyd Wayne Huddleston; and two brothers, Wylie Verlon Clayton and Kenneth Stanley Clayton.
Other survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Jim Collier of Dallas, Texas; two brothers and three sisters-in-law, Rev. John L. and Ruby Clayton of West Fork, Archie Boyd and Wynette Clayton of Paris, and Beulah Clayton of Russellville; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 8, at Humphrey Chapel in Russellville with Rev. Larry Moore officiating. Burial was at Lane cemetery north of Dover.
Pauline P. Bishop
auline Pannell Bishop, 83, of Clarksville died Thursday, Dec. 4, 2003, at St. Edward Mercy Medical Center in Fort Smith.
A native of Johnson County, she was a daughter of the late Hugh Garrett and Melinda Josephine Turner Lingar, member of Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, retired poulty processing plant employee, and was preceded in death by two husbands, Clifford Pannell and Dick Bishop; and one son, Melvin Pannell.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Delilah and Tommy Johnson of Clarksville; three sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Emilie Pannell and Roger and Sandra Pannell, all of Clarksville, and James and Faye Pannell of Greenwood; ten grandchildren, Reg Johnson, Stephen Pannell, and Erika Cooper, all of Clarksville, Lance Johnson of Odessa, Texas, Danielle Huffman of Hot Springs, Quentin Pannell of Cabot, Tammy Fujibioshi and Mark Pannell, both of Greenwood, Jamie Reaves of Fort Smith and Gena Swearengin of London, England; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 8, at Landmark Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Vernon Bass officiating.
Burial was in West Mount Zion cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Reg Johnson, Lance Johnson, Stephen Pannell, Christopher Pannell, Quentin Pannell and Shane Cooper.
Sandra Quinton
Sandra Seeback Quinton, 53, of Redford, Mich., whose sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Sharon and John E. King Sr., reside in Clarksville, died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2003, in Farmington Hills, Mich.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother; and two sisters.
Other survivors include her husband of 29 years, Jack Quinton; one son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Nancy; three step-grandchildren; one sister, Jean Marion of Michigan; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral and burial were Saturday, Dec. 6, at Parkview cemetery in Livonia, Mich.
William H. Bullard
William H. (Bill) Bullard, 83, of Pine Bluff died Thursday, Nov. 13, 2003.
He was a native of Fort Smith, son of the late Richard and Minnie Lee Grady Bullard, was reared and educated in Hartman, and served in the United States Army during World War II where he was stationed in Alaska on the Island of Attu. He moved to Pine Bluff in 1951 where he was employed at the Pine Bluff Arsenal as a munition inspector for 30 years prior to his retirement in 1986, was a member of the White Hall United Methodist Church and a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8277. He was preceded in death by one brother, Eugene Bullard; and two sisters, Ruby Lundy and Faye Sexton.
Survivors include his widow, Jimmie Lane Dollar Bullard; one son, William Hugh Bullard Jr. of Redfield; two daughters, Victoria Lane Mosley of Shreveport, La., and Stephanie Lee Besaw of North Little Rock; one sister, Maize Sparks of Westminster, Calif.; and five grandsons.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 17, at the White Hall United Methodist Church with Rev. Rob Walker, pastor, officiating. Burial was in White Hall.
Pallbearers were Brad Hartin, Doug Allred, Daniel Nestoriek, Jimmy McDaniel, Jon Valentine, Charles Francis, Walter Lawson, and Charles Holmes.

Cecil F. Dow
Cecil F. Dow, 81, of Jenks, Okla., formerly of Johnson County, died Friday, Nov. 28, 2003, at Grace Living Center in Jenks, Okla.
He was a retired air craft loader, member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, son of the late Martin and Martha Reynolds Dow, and was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth E. Dow.
Survivors are two daughters, Ivanne Hanford of Tulsa, Okla., and Barbara Moore of Ola; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, at the Danville Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with Daniel Farrer and David Torgerson officiating.
Burial will be in Knoxville cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Auston Ring, Aaron Ring, Scott Hanford, and Jared Moore.

C. F. Morris
C. F. Morris, 86, of Hartman died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2003, at St. Edward Mercy Medical Center in Fort Smith.
He was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Morris, member of the Elks Club in Arizona, retired construction and welding employee and was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen G. Cotton Morris.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Toby Whitney of Yuma, Ariz.; one son and daughter-in-law, Joe Bill and Corrinne Morris of Lowell; four grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial were at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 28, at Oakland cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Kermit Brashear
Kermit Brashear, 70, of Lamar died Saturday, Nov. 29, 2003.
He was a security guard with the Salvation Army, native of England, son of the late Thomas and Amanda Barham Brashear, and was preceded in death by seven brothers and four sisters.
Survivors include his widow, Matta Lou Brashear; one son and daughter-in-law, David and Barbara Brashear of Atkins; two daughters and one son-in-law, Mechele and William Palmer and Maxine Steele, all of the Buttermilk Community; one sister, Geraldene Rhodes; five grandchildren and spouses, Jason Tarklington, Amy and Scott Richardson, Jaclin and Daniel Riley, J. D. and Laura Brashear, and Wade Palmer; and four great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Riley, Danyel Riley, Evie Richardson, and Alydia Brashear.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, at the First United Methodist Church in Clarksville with Rev. Steve Wingo officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins.
