Lawana S. Douthit
Lawana Stallings Douthit, 76, of Hartman died Friday, Nov. 21, 2003, in Hot Springs.
She was a native of Hartman, daughter of the late Joseph Clyde and Virginia R. Reeves Stallings, widow of Ben Dwight Douthit, and was preceded in death by two sisters, Marie Bynum and Lavell Kyle; and one brother, J. D. Stallings.
Survivors include two sisters, Fannie Jean Fowler and Joan Stiles, both of Hartman; one brother, Conrad Stallings of Bonita, La.; several nieces and nephews; and companion, Pete Hicks of Hot Springs.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 24, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with Rev. Chris Rink officiating. Burial was in West Mount Zion cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jim Freeman, Ted Short, Mike Wilson, Raymond Wilson, Mark Mooney and Elmer Pannell.
Monroe Nichols
Monroe Nichols, 77, of Lamar died Monday, Nov. 24, 2003, at his home.
A native of Knoxville, he was a son of the late William Thomas Sherman and Minnie Lou Mack Nichols, World War II Navy veteran, cattleman for 40 years, retired ConAgra employee, member of Lamar Baptist Church for 38 years, and was preceded in death by three brothers, Gus, Raymond and Fred Nichols.
Survivors include his wife of approximately 53 years, Charlcie Nichols; two sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Mary Beth Nichols and Terry and Sharon Nichols, all of Lamar; one daughter and son-in-law, Maxine and Dwain Melson of Lamar; five brothers, Guy Nichols of Fort Smith, Marvin and Bob Nichols, both of Knoxville, Olen (Mutt) Nichols of Kansas City, Kan., and James (Pete) Nichols of Lamar; one sister, Jewell Clayborn of Dover; six grandchildren, Jacque McRae of Mountainburg, Bailey Nichols of Russellville, Melissa Nichols, David Nichols, Chris Melson and Joe Monroe Melson, all of Lamar; and one great-grandson, Bryce McRae of Mountainburg.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26, at Lamar Baptist Church with Rev. Clyde Vire and Rev. Terry Schlinker officiating.
Burial will be in Lamar cemetery with military honors by VFW Rogers-Rye Post 2283 of Russellville. Arrangements are under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
Active pallbearers will be Garry Mize, Verlon Smith, Brian Nichols, Ronnie Zachary, David Graves, and Wes Kendrick.
Honorary pallbearers will be Scottie Little, David Clayborn, and the Lamar Baptist Church Men's Sunday school class and the Mary-Martha Sunday school class.

Mervynn Rofkahr
Mervynn Chris Rofkahr, 65, of Joplin, Mo., died Monday, Nov. 17, 2003, at St. John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin, Mo.
He was a native of Coal Hill, son of the late William and Addie Johnson Rofkahr, former resident of California, cook with the United States Army, former Sunday school superintendent and bus driver, and self-employed painter.
Survivors include his widow, Drussilla Horsley Rofkahr; one daughter, Kathy Sumner of Joplin, Mo.; one son, Brian Rofkahr of Senecca, Mo.; five brothers, Bill Rofkahr of Altus, and Kenneth, Clifford, Ron and Lee Rofkahr, all of California; one sister, Barbara Ewing of California; and six grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, at Parker Mortuary Chapel in Joplin, Mo., with Rev. Wayman Ming Jr. and Rev. Tim Sumner officiating.
Graveside services and burial were at 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21, at St. Mary's cemetery in Altus.
Pallbearers were Kenneth, Clifford, Ron and Lee Rofkahr, David Reed and Darrell Robinson.
Mark A. Wyers
Mark Alan Wyers, 41, of Clarksville died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2003, at his home.
He was disabled and a Methodist.
Survivors include his parents, Anna and Dan Schmatjen of Clarksville and Mr. and Mrs. George Wyers of Atlanta, Ga.; three sisters, Diane Austin of Keller, Texas, Pamela Story of Atlanta, Ga., and Lisa Weidner of Cordele, Ga.; one stepsister, Lisa McCarley of Clarksville; one brother, Daniel Wyers of Laredo, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, at Harmony Presbyterian Church with Rev. Bill Woodard officiating.
Burial was in Harmony cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Daniel Wyers, Abe Laster, Ricky McCarley, Raymond Wyers, Dustin Austin, and Ralph Wyers.
Olin W. North
Olin Walker North, 85, of Springfield, Mo., died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2003, in Springfield, Mo.
A former resident of Johnson County, he was a son of the late Isaac and Mattie North, Methodist, Army veteran of World War II having served in the European Theater, and a retired sales representative from Smith Brothers Manufacturing Company in Carthage, Mo., after 40 years of service.
Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services and burial were at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21, at Oak cemetery in Fort Smith. Arrangements were under the direction of Fentress Mortuary in Fort Smith.
Patsy L. Lasater
Patsy Louise Lasater, 80, of Magazine, mother of David Lasater of Clarksville, died Thursday, Nov. 20, 2003, in a Booneville nursing home.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Magazine and the widow of Franklin Lasater.
Other survivors include two sisters, Royce Raney of Booneville and Alice Reed of Benton; three grandchildren, Adrian Lasater of Clarksville, Holly Freeman of Russellville and Mindy Lasater of Pocatello, Idaho; and three great-grandchildren, Hunter, Addison and Brayden Lasater.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, at the United Methodist Church in Magazine.
Burial was in Old Union cemetery in Magazine under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Tommy Staton, John D. Roberts, Michael Erp, Bill Pettway, Victor Stone, and Denny Stone.
Raymond I. Bean
Raymond Inrey Bean, 84, of Lamar died Thursday, Nov. 20, 2003, at the Veterans Regional Medical Center in Little Rock.
He was a son of the late Aud and Alice Bean, native of the East Mount Zion Community, veteran of the U. S. Army, retired logger, and was preceded in death by his wife, Aleta Bean; one daughter, Brenda Christian; and several brothers and sisters.
He is survived by one daughter, Zella Callahan of Ratcliff; four brothers, William A. Bean of Lamar, David Bean of California, Glen Bean of Kelso, Wash., and Gale Bean of Washington; five sisters, Savelle Schrock of Russellville, Rena Dale of the Flat Rock Community, Joan Clark of Clarksville, Lela Freeman of Longview, Wash., and Sallie Ryan of Yuma, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 24, at the East Mount Zion Church with Rev. Arlon Bean officiating.
Burial was at East Mount Zion cemetery under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Ray Christian, Stan Cowell, Jerry Christian, and James Overbey.
Viva A. Price
Viva A. (Vi) Price, 62, of Parsons, Kan., mother of Sally Thronebury of Clarksville, died Saturday, Nov. 22, 2003, at her home.
She was a native of Parsons, Kan., daughter of the late Paul J. and Marian R. (Mael) Evans, attended Parsons Schools, former member of the Salvation Army Swim Team of Parsons, a certified lifeguard, and in 1974, joined H&R Block where she first prepared tax statements and later managed the office prior to purchasing it in 1984. As owner and operator she continued to manage the office and prepare tax statements until her death.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Henry (Hank) Kinsch; one brother, Hubert (Sonny) Evans; two sisters, Judy Sayer and Dottie Addis; and one brother-in-law, Roger Addis.
Survivors include her husband, Ron Price; two other daughters, Laura Kinsch and Marcia Bartholomew, both of Parsons, Kan.; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Adam and Peggy Kinsch, Ron Price Jr., Jeff and Bridget Price, and Tim and Mary Price, all of Parsons, Kan.; 16 grandchildren, Amanda and Tim Johnson and Amber and Jack Schull, all of Mound Valley, Kan., Shane Madore, Jon and Jessica Bartholomew, Opal Briggs, Kaylee Kinsch, Steve Queen, Michael Price, and Bailiey Price, all of Parsons, Kan., Chris and Kymberly Thronebury of Clarksville, Tifanie Bartholomew of Springfield, Mo., and Nick Briggs of Pittsburg, Kan.; five great-grandchildren, Alexis, Dylan and Madison Thronebury of Clarksville, Kylie Johnson of Mound Valley, Kan., and Mary Mills of Parsons, Kan.; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Leon (Butch) and Helen Evans, James (Jimmy) and Tony Evans, all of Parsons, Kan., and Edward Lee and Patty Evans of Montana; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Rita and Glen Garretson of Parsons, Kan., and Barbara and Ray Clark of Dover; one sister-in-law, Janice Evans of Parsons, Kan.; and one brother-in-law, Harold Sayer of Dover.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons, Kan., with Rev. Deborah A. Hanes-Nelson officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery.

James C. Campbell
James C. (Jim) Campbell, 60, of Clarksville died Thursday, Nov. 13, 2003, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
He was a son of the late Clarence J. and Opal Turner Campbell, member of the Church of Christ, and retired.
Survivors include two sisters, Jerry King of Clarksville and Maudie Armstrong of Fort Smith; and two brothers, George Hampton of Fort Smith and Wayne Campbell of Little Rock.
A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 17, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating. The body was cremated.
